Comment: What a beautiful outpouring of your thoughts. Your feelings echo my own sentiments as a teacher and a parent of a non-college-bound child. Society puts great pressure on young people to have everything figured out after high school. I think giving him that space is the best thing to do, but I know it is hard to be that shield for between what he is "supposed to do" and what he needs for himself. I wish you strength as you become "a real parent."

Comment: You are amazing! I really love the quotes, which I'm putting into my new planner that's just for writing. Apparently taking a page from United Airlines which has been sending dogs to death or another continents, today I got a box from you. It arrived here March 20, but has been traveling since January. The tales it could tell! :)

I agree if your'e really struggling with it, setting it aside might be best. I did like the third draft better, where she tells him "it's visible only to temple maidens," although the smile into a leer in the second one was good too.

The dishcloth you made is absolutely lovely; that purple and green colorway has long been one of my favorites, and the star shape is a nice addition to all the round and square dishcloths I already own. Same daughter asked if she can have it as a napkin in her lunchbox tomorrow. And the cotton thread! Thank you very much! I think I had better make some more cotton thread dishcloths now... :)
