Response: You're welcome! Happy New Year <3
Response: You're welcome, and thank you also. Happy New Year <3
Response: You're welcome, and thank you also. Happy New Year <3
Response: Aw, thanks very much. I'm really glad you are enjoying my postcard, and I certainly enjoyed making it for you. I like your name, Harmony Joy, as I'm a 1968 - 2019 hippy myself. 1968 was the year I graduated from high school. Do you have a shorter nickname that people call you?
Response: Yay!! I'm really glad you enjoyed them! I really love drawing geometric designs. :-)
Response: Thanks Gina :-) I'm happy you enjoyed the postcard. I love geometric designs so much. They are like playing with many different shaped blocks to see what you can build. The number paper is actually the lining of a security envelope a swapper used to send a swap from Australia. It's way cool!
Response: Thank you! I'm happy you enjoyed the ATC :-)
Response: You're Welcome and Thank you as well!
Response: Thank you G :-) I'm happy you enjoyed it. Did you catch the "special" piece I added? LOL . . . . . Well we are having a Very unusual COOL Spring and this weekend we are going to have winter temps. It's CRAZY! There's no telling, we might get snow. A month ago we had temps in the 100's!
Response: You're welcome Stephanie :-) I'm super glad that you liked it! One of my pastimes is going through junk mail, flyers, etc., and clipping the areas that have two colors adjacent to each other, then cutting circles out of those. Then I make art with those. Fun!
Response: You're welcome Laura :-) I'm happy you have enjoyed it. I was pretty happy about finding that the ribbon was 2.5" wide :-)
Response: Hi Linda :-) . . . Wow! I'm amazed I forgot to put the swap info on the back of the postcard. It's the first time I've not done that, but likely won't be the last time. I'm very glad you enjoyed this collage, I honestly had a great time making it for this swap. All of the elements that I used had been in my collage clippings stash for years and years, and I'm delighted when I use them. And thank you so much for enjoying my many artistamps which I love to use when I've made a postcard on black paper.
Response: Hi Tricia :-) . . . Thanks for enjoying my postcard. I was so stoked to find that cat image with those big expressive eyes, looking so startled. And then to find two butterflies that looked just the same but one large and one small, the rest just fell into place. The violets background came from a Saver's find. It's an old Sunset book on growing African Violets that I bought just for the inside cover.
Response: You're welcome Di :-) . . . I am really really glad you liked the inchies I made for the swap!! I loved and enjoyed every minute of their creation, and even made several more for my collection. Thank you also for enjoying my envelopes. I love to share my art with everyone.
Response: Thank You Ginny π!! I am really happy that you have enjoyed my ATC. And what you said about using the images on my envelope make me smile even more YAY! π!!!! πππ
Response: Thank you Di π and you are very welcome! I loved giving them to you π
Response: Thank you very much David π I am so glad you liked my stamping art on the ATC and on the envelope. Yes, I carve my own stamps. I got started about 4Β½ years ago and really love making them. I own a few inexpensive store-bought rubber stamps, but mainly don't buy them because they are expensive for me and I seldom see the shapes that I want to have. There are many more machine made geometric stamps now than there used to be I think, but there are so many other art supplies I'd rather spend my money on.
Response: You're welcome Georgene π and Thank You for the π
Response: Thank you Katie π I am really glad you liked my Legs and Feet ATC. I was concerned that it would be TOO far out there. I seem to have a natural inclination to draw whacko looking space aliens when I sit down to sketch beings other than human or animal. I'd rather have an inclination to draw fairies or something familiar. I hope we will be swap partners again too.
Response: Thank you Carroll π
Response: Thank you Joan π
Response: Thank you Carroll π
Response: Thank you Rebecca π
Response: Thank you Leah π
Response: Thank you Martha π
Response: Thank you Steph π
Response: Wow, thank you Maria! I'm supper happy you enjoyed my art. I'm smiling really big! :-D
Response: Hi Carroll :-) . . .My apologies for this late response to your rating.
You're welcome! As the British say, I'm chuffed you enjoyed my art. I really enjoyed making the entire piece knowing it was going to you. I admire your art a lot. The page you mentioned to be your favorite is my favorite too. and my daughter's. I just may have to make another one of those. It will come out samely different.
Response: Hi Steph :-) . . .My apologies for this late response to your rating . . .
You're welcome! I'm hoping the colorfulness of the Chinese paper cut-outs will spark your abundant creativity in some way and we all will get to see the results. Or if not, then it's perfectly OK to pass them on. . . . . I'm glad you enjoyed the color register collage. I've always been interested in those kinds of things - colorful and geometric. I've made several of these collages and they all come out looking samely different.
Response: Hi Jessica . . . My apologies for this late response to your rating. . . . You're welcome! Even re-reading your comment now makes me so happy that you enjoyed my art :-) This is the fun of swapping!
Response: Triple YAY! I'm super happy that you really like it so much and will enjoy owning it. That makes it much nicer to give it away. Thank you <3
Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed receiving it :-)
Response: Hi Fi :-) . . . . I'm SO happy you liked my postcard "Convergence." . . . . I loved that one so much that I had it in my personal collection for a while until I decided to share it with you, thinking you might be one to like it. . . . As for the pen I used, it is a "UNI-BALL SIGNO UM_153, White ink, 1.0 mm." . . . . I've used the Sakura Gelly Roll 08 White before, but the ink doesn't flow as well and dries up and won't flow at all before it's half-way used up, which is Screamingly Frustrating!!! . . . . None of these pens are especially narrow tipped, but making dots goes OK.. . . . . My latest quest is to find a gold (liquid) INK pen (not gel) with a fairly narrow tip, 1 mm or less.
Response: You're welcome :-)
Response: You're welcome Tammy :-) I'm so glad you liked everything!
Response: I'm super glad you liked everything Aaliyah :-)
Response: Hi Angie :-) . . . Thanks and YAY !. . . . I'm SO VERY happy it arrived at all. Sadly, today I received a handmade postcard that was missing the entire collage! The whole front of the card separated from the back, just like what happened to mine before I repaired it, but I can see that this person only used a few sticky dots to hold it to the back of the card. Mail processing can be so brutal to handmade art you gotta prepare it for battle. Many times I have purposely made a postcard completely rigid and applied extra non-machinable postage so it could avoid the machining process. It's just what you gotta do sometimes since many people insist "naked" mail is somehow better than intact art. Um, I think I'm done ranting now LOL
Response: Hi Juli :-) . . . Yay!! I was hoping you'd like the colors of the ATC, it's one of the reasons I remembered and picked it out from my personal art collection for you. Cool Beans :-)
Response: Thanks for the heart :-) <3 No worries, I'll probably join another A&P zine swap because I do like them.
Response: Wowzers Steph :-D (very big smile). I am totally thrilled that you liked this collage so much! And to have it remind you of one of my most favorite art genres, and to also have it on your wall is completely wonderful. You are so welcome and Thank You!
Response: Thank you Kathryn :-) I'm happy you enjoyed it. <3
Response: Yay! Thanks Joy :-) I was hoping you would like the ATCs. I was rather fond of them myself and wanted them to have a good home.
Response: Hi Donetta :-) . . . Thanks! I'm super glad you enjoyed my Inchies. They were the fanciest ones I ever made and it was a LOT of fun! It's perfectly funny how we can become so intensely focused and involved in a 1 inch square space while creating an inchie. I'm glad you liked my fish stamp postcard. I'm kinda chuffed about it too (as an English person might say LOL).
Response: I'm very happy you enjoyed the card Vanne!! I loved it too. :-) <3 That was my first "Skinny." There sure are many different sizes of small art!
Response: Hi Megan :-) . . . I'm super glad that you liked my digital ATCs. I really need to make time to do more of digital collage and learn some of the newer tricks. The ATC with Gort from the original 1951 "The Day the Earth Stood Still" is my favorite too. (also that's one of my All Time Favorite movies!) Thanks for the kudos on my envelope. I Love to use my stamps all over my mail-art envelopes. So I'm super glad you enjoyed all of it. :-) And we could do a private swap. Message ideas to me anytime.
Response: Thank you Kae :-) and you are so welcome! I happen to adore triangles more than other shapes, so I really loved making this a lot! And I also love to use my stamps all over my mail-art envelopes. So I'm super glad you enjoyed all of it. :-)
Response: Thanks I'm happy you enjoyed it π
Response: You're very welcome Di π I'm really glad you enjoyed my funny creations. I don't draw very often, but sometimes it can be fun to see what develops from my pencil (and eraser LOL). Thank you for sending a heart π§‘
Response: I posted my complete circle on Instagram (@2017gls). I used to use Photobucket to post pics here at Swap-bot, but since they horribly, and without warning, started charging for their service I haven't looked/found a replacement free service. . . . Thanks for sending me a heart π§‘
Response: I'm glad that my quarter circle looked good with the others. I'd like to participate in another swap like that one with a theme or a color scheme. Thanks for the heart π§‘
Response: You're welcome Kim π I'm really happy you enjoyed what I sent and thanks for sending me a heart too. π§‘
Response: You're welcome Joan π I'm very glad you enjoyed what I sent to you, and thanks for sending a heart my way π§‘
Response: You're welcome Steph. I'm happy you enjoyed them, and thanks for sending a heart π
Response: You're welcome DeAnna π I'm happy that you enjoyed what I sent to you. Thanks for sending me a heart too π§‘
Response: Hi Katie :-) . . . . I am really very glad you enjoyed my Paper Hunt postcard because I had so much fun creating it π And I'm glad you're OK with the effects of gel medium on the surface of a collage. If I had my druthers I'd send all my collages in an envelope because no glue is USPS proof all the time. I once learned of the demise of one of my most favorite collages from the person who received it and my heart was broken, because really, much of my art is actually precious to me, and I want the recipient to have a chance to see it as I created it and maybe like it as much as I do. Gel's OK but it does alter the appearance somewhat.
Response: Hi Annick . . . . thank you so much for enjoying my postcard and sending a heart. I loved making it for you. I have loved the art of Vasarely for so long, since the first time I saw his art when I was about 21. I'm sad to learn of the closing of the museum for lack of money.
Response: You're welcome and thanks for sending a heart. I love that you enjoyed the whole package :-)
Response: Thank you Nickalli :-) . . . Circles, the Yin/Yang symbol for example, are first drawn on paper with a pencil. I use a circles template. After the drawing is transferred to the pink carving rubber, after the craft knife is inserted at an angle carefully next to one side of the line with my right hand, I don't move the knife, I move the piece of rubber in a curve with my left hand until I come back to where I started. Whether you use a knife or a gouge, the technique is to move the rubber in a curve and not move the blade or gouge. Then it's just a matter of going slow enough to be accurate, to keep the tool steady and the turn steady. I wish I had one of those video set-ups and then I'd show you how glacial my speed is when carving circles.
Response: Hi Donetta . . . I have practically no sense of the passage of time, so I easily forget to do many little things I need to do, like respond to my rating comments. . . . . . I am thrilled that you have liked and enjoyed the fish tea bag art! I really loved that one too. The part that looks like little white flowers was made using my asterisk-like stamp which is 6 short lines radiating from the empty center. First I stamped with black ink and then drew over the lines with a white gel pen. I also made a smaller asterisk stamp than this one too.
Response: HI Laurie π . . . . Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed them. π
The tea bags I used are the kind that's sometimes referred to as "flow-thru" bags, that you can poke your finger through the middle of two sides. This video shows the sort of tea bag I'm talking about. . . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Quu09BNB_eI&t=196s
The dimensions of the bag before opening it and dumping out the dried tea leaves are about 1 5/8" x 2.5" to the very top, which seems like a standard size, and then after completely opening and smoothing out, the paper is 3.5" x 5.75." There were some moments when I was making 4 of these for the swap that I wished I had left the bags folded or used a bag without the flow-thru, which would have been a smaller surface to decorate.
Response: I'm SO glad Jeni π I hoped you would. Thanks for sending a heart π
Response: Thank you! . . I'm just a pattern-loving fool π
Response: You're welcome Lisa :-) I'm very happy you liked it. It was one of my favorites actually. I would love to see how it survived the postal system for my future reference in using unprotected colored pencil areas. Would you be willing to email me a close-up snapshot to
[email protected]?
Response: You're Welcome ππ
Response: Hi Michelle :-) . . . . You're welcome! I'm happy you like the one I sent to you. Thanks for giving a heart ππ
Response: Thanks for your rating and heart :-) . . . Misunderstanding . . . I'm not new to Swap-bot (Date Joined: April 28, 2014) but I am new to "What's In Your Mailbox" and new to sending store-bought postcards. I mainly hand-make all my postcards, but I do have some printed postcards that people have given to me and a good amount of UTAH postcards that I got from my daughter from when they lived in Moab and took care of an RV park.
Response: Hi Anette :-) . . . I'm very glad you have enjoyed the swap I made for you! Thank you for your rating and the heart β€οΈοΈ
Response: You're welcome.
Response: Hi Janis :-) . . . . I'm Happy you have enjoyed my ATC :-D . . . . Um, can you email me a snapshot of this whale stamp you want to know about? I don't own a whale stamp that I know of so I'm Super curious. . . . .
[email protected]
Response: You're welcome Prairie :-) Thank you for sending love <3 Love back to you always.
Response: Hi Georgene :-) . . . I'm super happy that you enjoyed all that I sent to you βΊβ₯ . . . . What I need to do is re-cycle all the old note cards and old greeting cards that I have received from other swappers, but instead what I like to do is make new note cards on cardstock paper with images of my past ATC's and other art.
Response: Thank you very much βΊβ₯ I loved making the stamp for this swap and I love using it on my envelopes.
Response: Hi Cynthia :-) . . . . I am Very Happy that you liked my Moos so much ! β₯ and my style too β₯THANKSβ₯, that really means a lot to me. I sure do hope I get to be your partner again sometime.
Response: Hi Chanou :-) . . . I'm so glad you have enjoyed the postcard. β₯
Response: Thank you Barbara βΊ . . . I was happy to make it too. Thanks for the heart β₯
Response: You're welcome Tina :-) Thanks for the heart too β₯
Response: Thank you Barbara, you're a sweetheart. I'm happy you enjoyed it, and thanks for the heart.
Response: Thank you Joan! :-D . . . I'm looking forward to getting it back and seeing everyone's addition, but that will take a while. Thanks for giving a heart too <3 β₯
Response: Hi Allegrae :-) . . . . I am really thrilled that you enjoyed this ATC :-D . . . . Like I said, I had those funny pig clips for so long and was glad to use them for this swap. And the flying pig is also from some ancient ads that ran for a while, and I tried to get every one of them cut out, but now I only have a couple of them left. How often does one see ads that feature flying pigs? Not too darn often LOL. Thanks for giving a heart too <3 β₯
Response: You're welcome Megan, I enjoyed making them. I always enjoy making geometric abstract art. I hope we'll be swap partners again and I would get to be the recipient.
Response: Thank you Mary :-) . . . I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Response: Hi Bonnie :-) . . . You're welcome, and thank you for writing such a sweet comment. I had so much fun making this scavenger hunt postcard, and I was very happy with the outcome, so I'm super glad you enjoyed it.
Response: You're very welcome Kathryn :-) . . . I'm glad you enjoyed my art. Triangle is my favorite shape to use in making geometric abstract art.
Response: Thank you Carroll :-) I'm so glad you liked the face. I had fun and may draw more of them. I drew the frog a few years ago. I don't do a lot of free-style drawing because I'm usually sure I'm going to mess up, but I am now a bit encouraged. My inspirations are your faces, which I adore, and Sally Mericle, aka Mars Tokyo (http://marstokyo.com/), the artist of the Fab! Psychadelia series (https://www.flickr.com/photos/marstokyo/albums/72157615403666719).
Response: Thanks very much Joan :-) I like getting swaps from you too.
Response: And I loved using them for you. Neon colors are fun! Thanks for sending a heart <3
Response: Thank you Pat :-) . . . I'm very glad you liked it. I adore making geometric stamps and having a blast designing patterns with them. Thanks so much for giving me a heart too <3 β₯
Response: I so glad you are enjoying the book mark, and also the tissue paper and the Zebra. Thanks for sending the heart <3
Response: I am thrilled I was able to make the postcard come out near enough to her style, and I'm so glad you are enjoying it. This was a fun swap and I'm glad to see more of these "In the Style of __ " swaps. And so glad it made it through the mail. Thanks for sending a heart <3
Response: Hi Carrie :-) . . . . I'm glad you enjoyed my postcard. I thought that scavenger hunt made for a pretty odd mix of items and it was a fun challenge to do. Thanks for giving a heart β₯
Response: Hi Martha . . . I'm so glad you liked the ATC I sent, and the note card too. The art on the note card is from two ATC's I made for a swap several years ago called Klimt Kat 1 & 2, and the patterns I used to fill the spaces are all based on patterns from Klimt's paintings. It looks like zentangle I guess because most zentangle patterns are actual designs or variations of designs that have been around since people started drawing. So Klimt tangled in his own way LOL. Thanks for sending a heart β₯
Response: You're Welcome! So glad you like my postcard βΊ Thanks for sending a heart β₯
Response: Hi Kristy βΊ I'm really happy that you like my postcard. It was one of my favorites that I've made in a while. Thanks for sending a heart β₯
Response: You're welcome Nancy! Thanks for the heart too β₯
Response: Thanks Linda β₯ βΊ
Response: Hi Monique βΊ . . . . Oh yeah! I knew right after I mailed it that I had forgotten to write the swap info, but it was too late. And I forgot I was going to message you with a heads-up about it.
Thank you for appreciating my postcard. I really liked this one too. Thanks for the heart β₯
Response: Thank you Angie and you're welcome π I'm very happy you like your postcard! Thanks for sending me a heart β€
Response: You're very welcome Jo βΊ I am so happy you liked the art I made for you β₯ β₯ β₯
Response: You're welcome and thank you for giving a heart <3
Response: You're welcome and I'm happy you liked everything :-D
Response: You're so welcome Gina :-) ! . . . . and thank you <3
Response: Penney thanks very much for your sweet rating comment and the heart. I'm always thrilled when someone likes my art and lets me know :-) <3
Response: Hello Annick :-) . . . I'm so glad you have enjoyed my postcard :-) . . . Thanks for the heart <3 β₯
Response: You are welcome Colleen! I'm super happy you have enjoyed my creations :-) I find the process of precision cut-and-paste both relaxing and a challenge. I think it is relaxing because you have to focus closely on what you are doing and stay in the now moment without thinking about a lot of other stuff. And taking breaks to rest your eyes helps too. Thanks for the heart too <3 β₯
Response: Hi Kitty! I'm very glad you like my Ransom PC :-) . . . . Isn't it fun to while away some time by rummaging through magazines and junk mail to add to the clipped alphabet collection? My collection is way larger than it will ever need to be, but I add to it anyway. . . . . Artistamps! I have made new editions for the last few years, but haven't done this year's yet. Just say the word and I'd be happy to send you some samples to use as you wish. Thanks very much for the heart <3 β₯
Response: I'm so happy you liked my postcard :-) I had much fun making it because it is always a challenge to get such random images into a space with any sort of cohesiveness. Thanks for the heart too <3 β₯
Response: You're welcome! I loved making it for you!
Response: You're welcome and thanks for giving a heart Γ’ΛΒΊΓ’β’Β₯
Response: Hi Sherry :-) Γ’β’Β₯ Thank you for giving a heart Γ’β’Β₯
I bought the cards on Amazon, the name of the product is "Graphic 45 4501492 Nature Sketchbook Ephemera Cards." When I went to view my past order to get the name, Amazon says "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock," but I think there are probably many other places to find the cards.
Response: I'm so glad you liked the postcard Jan! I have a lot of images of old coins that I clip from coin ads from junk mail, magazines, and PCH envelope contents LOL Thank you for your heart rating very much!
Response: You're welcome Nickalli Γ’ΛΒΊ Thanks for your heart rating very much!
Response: You're welcome Toni! I wanted to try something totally different for the swap because that's why I like the "Sender's Choice" category. The postcard is definitely on the wild side :-)
Response: You're welcome Monique, and Thank You for your nice rating for me. I was surprised by the good response for this postcard on IG and Facebook. I didn't appreciate it so much until I saw that others liked it so well. Now I'm thinking of making a larger one of the same pattern for a wall piece. I'd have to find just the right papers though because I think a lot of what works in it is the happenstance of the papers I used.
Response: You're welcome Annick and Thank You for a lovely rating :-) I'm glad you enjoyed the ATCs. It was fun using the watercolors and I need to choose them for coloring more often. Besides, my Tombow Brush marker set is running out of so many colors now. I hope for you to have lots of Happy Mail in 2018 also!
Response: Thanks Donetta :-) I'm glad you liked it.
Response: You are welcome Dawn! I adore the postcard myself, so I'm very glad you are enjoying it too. I had a wonderful evening making it for this swap.
Response: Hi Sherry :-) . . . . I'm glad you liked my E Tangle tile and the little envelope for the tile. I made the envie on cardstock from a printout I did of a jigsaw puzzle I made for a site called JIGIDI (www.jigidi.com). It is a puzzle site where people can post images for different size puzzles that anyone can solve. You don't have to post puzzles though. Many just go there to solve online jigsaw puzzles. Anyway, I used to compose puzzles from my art work, and from images I gathered from Google Images. I wold make montage mosaic puzzles, many with 100 small square images. It would take me a couple of days to gather images, edit them for the proper size and color balance. I have 21 pages of puzzles and you can see them and/or solve them here: https://www.jigidi.com/user/graciepie49. I will send you some cardstock prints of a couple of my puzzles if you tell me which ones you like.
Response: Thank you Amy :-) I'm happy you enjoyed everything. I love make ATC size collages. I don't know why I don't make more. And thanks for your appreciation of my stamps. Stars in Your Eyes is one of my old favorites, and I love to stamp all over the envelopes I send to others. Sometimes I even color a few of them. Thank you for giving me a nice red heart. I love getting hearts :-)
Response: You are very welcome Susan. I truly enjoy creating mosaic collage and stamps.
Response: You're welcome Donetta :-)
Response: (Ugh, I'm behind on my responses again.)
Hi Joan :-) . . . I'm very glad you like my tangles! I have so much fun with drawing patterns, but I do believe that there couldn't possibly anything really new in the way of pattern design today. People have been creating and drawing patterns since we first picked up a stick and drew in the dirt. And geometric and repeating designs are built into our brains, we only discover and bring out what is already there.
Response: (Ugh, I'm behind on my responses again.)
Hi Mona :-) . . . Thanks for liking my ATC. I really liked it too, and thanks for mentioning Seth Godin in your profile. I hadn't heard of him before so I Googled his name, of course, and liked a lot of what I read that he wrote.
Response: (Ugh, I'm behind on my responses again.)
Hi Stephanie . . . . You're welcome and thank you for your sweet comment and heart Γ’ΛΒΊΓ’β’Β₯
Response: Thank you so much Betsy! I'm super glad you liked my postcard. I saved that turkey from a Thanksgiving greeting card for a special day, and had a lot of fun making the postcard!
Response: Haha :-) I thought you had rated too, but I guess it was the wonderful response you posted on IG. Thanks again for your nice comments and my heart Γ’β’Β₯
Response: You are so very welcome Gina, any time, all the time. I enjoy making art for you. Sadly I barely have any of yours. The swapper shuffle function for Swap-bot doesn't really work. In all my SB groups there are people I have never swapped with and seem to get the same people all the time. ////// I have never participated in a Black Friday sale, and besides, they've only become ridiculous in that a Black Friday sale is for weeks before and after the day after Thanksgiving, and the sales are just reduced price hikes in my opinion.
Response: Hi Angie :-) . . . . Yes, those are the strings, right where I cut them off. I get the 5 tea bag tags all together, the strings and the bags of tea hanging down, then I cut the tags off, tie the strings together, and toss the bags into the tea pitcher. The box of tea has 20 tea bags ans so I make 4 pitchers of tea per box. I collect the tags in a zip-lock baggie, and I have quite a few! I'm also pleased with how the postcard turned out. Thanks very much for your lovely comments :-D I put on the space stamps just for you. Please tell me, did every thing on the postcard arrive intact? I was very worried that it wouldn't. I have a photo posted on Flickr to compare with.
Response: Sherry, I don't know what you are saying about not finding Joan's tangle....It was the first one, it's her postcard....She divided it into 5 odd shaped sections, did her drawing, then she sent it to me....I was the second one to draw on it....I added to it (upper left corner), and sent it to you....The only thing I said was that she didn't write a message on the back. ...... Thanks for the sweet comments for my card and stamps Γ’ΛΒΊ Γ’β’Β₯
Response: Hi Linda :-) . . . . . Thank you for your sweet comments about my postcard . . . I loved making this one once I figured out how to bring such diverse images together in a cohesive space. . . . But when I saw how a few others tacked that problem I thought they had much better ideas. Still I am glad it brought you some good memories. Γ’β’Β₯
Response: I'm happy you like the postcard Monique :-) If you ever see a Futharkfly be sure to let the world know about it LOL
Response: Hi David :-) . . . . You're welcome for the bookmarks, and thanks for loving my carved stamps. I make a lot of geometric-type stamps because I love geometric shapes. I've made other kinds of stamps too - animals and some with phrases and words. I have a Flickr Album where you may see most of my stamps (though I need to update it with my latest ones) https://www.flickr.com/photos/gracesanford/albums/72157650436897979, and I'd really love to see your carved stamps too. Please let me know where you post photos of them. Thanks for giving me a heart Γ’β’Β₯ Γ’ΛΒΊ
Response: Thank you Maya :-) I'm very happy you liked the ATC. And thanks for sending a heart Γ’β’Β₯
Response: You're welcome Carol
Response: You're welcome Trinette! I'm super glad you like designs because I do too and usually always have geometric designs in my art. Thanks for sending a heart Γ’β’Β₯ Γ’ΛΒΊ
Response: You're welcome Monique :-) I really love the Notan concept and think it is a fun way to make art. I'm astonished by the intricate ones others have made that I see on Pinterest and elsewhere. Thank you for sending me a heart Γ’β’Β₯ Γ’ΛΒΊ
Response: Thanks Sherry! I'm happy you like my A&P postcard Γ’ΛΒΊ I do make all the stamps I use on my cards and other art. The only store-bought stamps I own are some very small animal and insect ones I use once in a while because they were cheap and before I started carving my own. Thanks very much for sending me a heart Γ’β’Β₯Γ’ΛΒΊ
Response: You're welcome and thank you Leigh! I really love the way that one turned out. Thanks very much for sending me a heart Γ’β’Β₯Γ’ΛΒΊ
Response: Gosh Nancy :-) Thanks for all your sweet comments Γ’β’Β₯ I had so much fun with making such utter nonsense I think I'm going to have to do more of that. And I love to use my hand carved stamps on the back of postcards and envelopes, and sometimes in my art when I get a chance to. Thanks very much for sending me a heart Γ’β’Β₯Γ’ΛΒΊ
Response: You are welcome Peggy. I'm happy you enjoyed my art. The stamps I make are cut from soft rubber. I have a lot of trouble cutting potatoes and carrots in the kitchen because they are hard, and linoleum is hard. I probably couldn't cut linoleum very well, but the soft rubber is easy. I use a sharp, small craft knife and it's like cutting into an apple or pear. Thanks for giving a heart Γ’β’Β₯
Response: Thanks very much Barbara Γ’ΛΒΊ I am very glad that you enjoy my art so much! I had a great amount of fun making the twinchies, my first ones. I've made loads of ATCs and many Inchies, but now I have Twinchies too. It's a good size for people who like to make mini-art. Which one is the "circuit board"? Is it the green one with the gold circles? That one was my favorite and I almost kept it. Thanks for the heart too Γ’β’Β₯
Response: Thank you Diane Γ’ΛΒΊ I'm so happy you liked it. Thanks for the heart and hugs too Γ’β’Β₯
Response: Hi Margaret Γ’ΛΒΊ . . . Thanks for commenting so nicely on my Abstract ATC, card and envie; it was my pleasure. I loved making it, and I had wanted to do one like Joanne Mattera's for a long time. I's like to make one like that, larger and with patterns, like a collage and/or doodling with pen (pattern drawing). I Googled "book string bookmark" and saw examples of what you were talking about. Very Cool looking! Thanks for giving a heart too Γ’β’Β₯
Response: Hi Katie Γ’ΛΒΊ . . . Your comments for my art and swap have made me just as happy as you described. I LOVE having someone tell me how much they have enjoyed my artistic efforts. I really enjoyed making the lizard, so much that I might make another one sometime soon. And thanks for giving a heart Γ’β’Β₯
Response: You are very welcome Angela! Γ’ΛΒΊ
Response: Hi Dasha Γ’ΛΒΊ . . . You're welcome, and thank you for letting me know you enjoyed what I sent you. Kind words for my art makes my heart sing Γ’β’ΒͺΓ’β’Β«, and thanks for giving me a heart Γ’β’Β₯
Response: Thank you Γ’β’Β₯ I'm so glad you do because it was one of my favorites. And thank you for sending a heart Γ’ΛΒΊ
Response: Hi Deb . . . I'm very happy that you liked the swap I sent you. I could have used a postcard size for this subject of measurement. I made a list of common measuring devices and thought of 12, so I had fun making the ATC and trying to get as much as I could in there but 5 was all I could manage. Thanks for liking my envelope. I love to decorate swap envelopes with my stamps. And thanks for giving me a heart Γ’β’Β₯
Response: You're very welcome Carroll :-D . . . The ATC with the eye is my fav of the 3 also. I wish I could see everyone's ATC's for this swap. Is yours posted somewhere?
Response: You're welcome Tina :-)
Response: I'm happy you enjoyed the postcard Gina Γ’ΛΒΊ I love collecting and using those colorful registration panels LOL Thanks for sending a heart Γ’β’Β₯
Response: Thank you Carroll Γ’β’Β₯Γ’β’Β₯Γ’β’Β₯ . . . . I very much hoped that you'd like my book even though I didn't use many of the items you sent. I was in a quandary because I loved the theme you chose, but then I had such a different idea on how to express it compared to many images you gave me. I would LOVE to see what you envisioned to express the theme "The Richness of Nature." I'm certain it would be a lot more expressive and poetic. Your art expresses so much romanticism and creativity.
Response: You're very welcome Carina Γ’ΛΒΊ . . . I also was delighted with the results. I had a wonderful evening making it, and chose a unicorn especially for you. Thanks for sending me a heart Γ’β’Β₯
Response: Hi Barbara :-) . . . How do I get so behind on responses to the lovely comments I receive?! I have no REAL grasp of time passage, and the situation gets worse every day. . . . Thank you very much for all your sweet words for my art. I make art for the love of it and am so glad I can share it with appreciative people like yourself.
Response: You're very welcome Candace Γ’ΛΒΊ I thought you might like the ghosts. And thanks for sending heart love Γ’β’Β₯
Response: Hi Bonnie Γ’ΛΒΊ . . . You're very welcome and thank you for sending me such a lovely comments. It sets my heart to singing Γ’β’«Òβ’Β« I very glad you liked my card and envelope stamping. And thanks for sending heart love <3
Response: Thanks very much Rebecca :-) . . . One of the reasons I love to make geometric shapes for my stamps is so I can make a repeat pattern with them. It's so much fun for me. And thanks for sending heart love <3
Response: Hi Sara :-) . . . Thanks very much for your sweet comment on my handmade stamps. I love to make stamps! . . . . I picked out that particular rocket image for you (from Google Images) since it seemed to be the most retro-looking of the images I looked at with simple clean lines to carve. I made all the stamps I use on my envelopes, some of them I draw the design myself and some of them I get the image from Google Images. Thanks for sending heart love <3
Response: Hi Christy . . . . I'm happy you like it and thanks for the heart :-)
Response: Hi Rachael :-) . . . I'm so happy that you like the stamp, and I really do hope you'll get some good use out if it. I just thought of something . . . I don't know if you're used to using unmounted stamps, but since nearly every stamp I have was made by me, I'm pretty used to it. The rubber is fairly thick enough to hold on to. I hope you don't have any problems.
Response: Thank you Kathryn :-) . . . And wow! I had never noticed all the hands in my "Inspired by Miro" drawing. That's pretty cool. I'm super happy that you liked and appreciated my Hands ATC. It's kind of strange but I guess I don't believe our hands get enough AWE and admiration, since they are just one of the most integral parts of our creative existence. Thanks for giving a heart too <3
Response: Hi Kyra :-) . . . . Thank you! I am really happy you liked my Hearts Postcard. I totally enjoyed making it, so balanced and colorful, which is the kind of art I like to do. Long ago I had made a set of heart templates from heavy paper that increase in size, and I put them in an envelope and into one of my drawers full of art "stuff." I was glad to remember them and use them for this swap :-) And thanks for giving me a heart too <3
Response: Hi Jan :-) . . . . Thanks for appreciating the twinchies. I really do find it easier to do drawings and coloring more than multimedia art. And they were also a bit quicker for me because a couple of them were cut from art I had already made that I deemed worthy of sacrifice for this swap, stuff I wanted to re-do anyway. I hope we will be partnered in another twinchie or inchie swap sometime, maybe receive some of yours. Thank you for giving a heart too <3
Response: Hi Kati :-) . . . . Thank you! That drawing and it's partner drawing are among my favorite drawings. You can see the other one here if you'd like - http://bit.ly/2smvpQZ Thanks for giving a heart too <3
Response: Hi Georgene . . . Another Libra <3 yes I know about the Libra connection :-) We really do seem to have the best minds 'sometimes' LOL. I'm super glad you appreciated my Twinkle Twinkle ATC. And thanks for your sweet words about my other efforts and the heart too. I hope we get to do another swap again sometime.
Response: Thanks very much Nancy. Your compliment deserves a heart <3
Response: Thank you Joan for your lovely compliments. This masterboard took a long while to make since it was the first one, but I think maybe when I make another one it could go a bit faster. It's like creating and solving a puzzle at the same time, and a great spacial exercise.
Response: Tanya, thank you for sending me such beautiful compliments. I am so happy that you appreciate the work I did making the trifold for you. I was so happy with the results. And I'm glad you enjoyed my envelope stamping. I love to use my stamps on envelopes.
Response: Wow! Thanks Annick! I'm super glad the card made it to you intact and that you have enjoyed it so much. I have received so much love for my carved fish, it makes me very happy. I'm sure looking forward to getting your stamped images for one of my stamp wishes. I wonder which one it will be.
Response: Hi Angie :-) . . . I'm glad you like the ATC. I just had to feature orange in it for you, especially since I love such bold colors. And I seem to have a lot of fun with black and white stripes of all kinds, making them pop though juxtaposition of continuity. It's one of my favorite things to do I guess. Thanks for giving a heart <3 I hope we'll be swap partners again soon.
Response: Hi Barbara :-) . . . I'm happy you liked Buddy and the ATC, sure is a sweet looking dog. Thanks for giving a heart too <3
Response: :-D . . . Carroll thank you! I'm so very glad you like all of the art I sent. This is really what brings me joy in making and sharing my art. <3 <3 <3 to you!
Response: HI Robin :-) . . . . I'm happy you liked the postcard! My 27 year old daughter said it looked goth, but I think Steampunk better describes the vibe. I had so much fun making the card too. Thanks for giving me a heart <3
Response: Hi Barbara :-) . . . Kiwi guy was just waiting in my collection for the right moment to shine. So glad I had it for this swap. I think this was the somehow the funnest scavenger hunt postcard I ever made and was glad you were the recipient. Thanks for giving a heart <3
Response: Hi Patty :-) . . . Even today on Instagram you mentioned you are not yet feeling all better yet. I sure do hope this prolonged sickness ends very soon, and you get all better! I really hope you don't mind getting a subject such as "Triangles." I love all the geometric shapes and so I found triangles returning to my mind as I was trying to decide on a theme. I hope you will enjoy using the triangle template too. Thanks for giving me a heart <3
Response: Hi Kimberly :-) . . . You are welcome and that you also. I really do enjoy "fussy cutting," as it is called. I do a lot of it, though the dragon was a doozy to cut because of so many curves and corners. I use a small bladed knife that I also use for cutting rubber stamps. Thanks for giving me a heart <3
Response: Hi Jeanette :-) . . . Thank you! I am truly happy that you liked getting my home-made stamps. It really is fun to see some of your own art on a sticker. And I also am glad you liked the other stickers I sent. I don't have a very big collection of stickers so you pretty much got some of what I have. I should look to expanding my sticker collection with purpose instead of haphazardly, as I have usually done. Thank you for the heart too <3
Response: Christy I'm SO happy you like the Brave New World themed mini book :-D . . . and also very thankful you didn't mind too much that it was late to be sent out. I get so darn slow sometimes! . . . Yeah, I'm putting the Gelli plate aside until I can get a batch of really cheap acrylics. I'm determined to learn to make cool backgrounds like I see others making.
Response: Thanks Joan :-) . . . I'm very glad you liked everything. I sometimes have WAY too much fun stamping up my envelopes LOL
Response: Hi Sami :-) . . . I'm super glad you like the ATC I sent. I just started using another medium for making stamps that you don't have to carve, a very thin kind of Styrofoam-like material called "Inovart Presto Foam Printing Plates." You draw on the surface with a pen or something that will make a sharp impression, then cut out around your drawing. It's better than trying to use left over Styrofoam from food packaging because you can make finer impressions. I'm going to make some art with it soon and post on Flickr.
Response: Gosh Linda :-) Thanks very much :-) I'm thrilled that you like my card so well. I liked it a lot too and I'm happy to have you enjoy it! Thanks for giving a heart <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Response: Hi Pat :-) Thank you very much for giving a heart rating. I really appreciate those a lot! It seems like you began one sentence and finished with another? I wonder what you wish I had included. Ans as for telling you about my carving, I'll just repeat what I just wrote to Nickalli who got the other Spring postcard I made. . . . I believe one of the reasons I have some success with lines is the fact that I am VERY near-sighted and get my eyes close to what I am doing, like 7 to 9 inches, and I try to move the knife very slowly and deliberately, keeping my eyes on the inside edge or outside edge of the line. I constantly have to keep myself from cutting too deep, which gets me in trouble really fast. . . . I really do have plenty of mistakes, I can see bunches, and I always keep trying to improve so I can do as well as some of my favorite stamp carvers.
Response: Hi Nickalli :-) Thanks very much! I have had many nicks and slices, almost invariably when I'm nearly finished with the whole stamp, but if I can, I try to camouflage the mistake or just live with it. Thanks for giving the heart <3 <3 :-)
Response: Thank you LIsa :-) I'm very happy you enjoyed my postcard. I know many people used words for their chart, but I saw that Stephanie used pictures and I really liked that idea, since I mainly think in images. It was an extra challenge to find images, but I love how it turned out. Thanks for the heart too <3 :-D
Response: Hi Steph! I'm happy you liked the project. I hope you didn't have any problem popping the boxes back together. I considered sending them to you already folded and nested, but the last time I sent a small box in the mail it never got to where it was supposed to go, so I'm wary of even trying. . . . . Hmmm, white ink on brown Kraft paper, that's an idea I haven't tried yet. I'll have to get some of that.
Response: Linda, thanks for your lovely comment and heart rating :-) I wished I had more exciting stickers, but I really don't collect many of them. But is was fun to use them for a change.
Response: Hi Monique :-) Thanks for your nice comment and heart rating. I'm SO sorry part of the asparagus was missing. I just don't like it when a part of a collage goes missing. My Flickr page has a photo of the collage with the tips of the asparagus if you'd like to go see.

Response: Hi Carroll :-) Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed what I sent for this swap. Thanks for the lovely comment and the heart rating :-D
Response: Gosh Joan, Thanks very much for writing such a nice comment for me and a heart rating :-) I hope the cube went together well. I made the artistamps for a recent swap, but I think it is a lot of fun so I might make some more.
Response: Hi Katie :-) You're very welcome, and I Thank You for giving me a wonderful comment and rating :-D
Response: Angie, Wow :-) thanks for such a nice comment :-D You're very welcome!
Response: Hi Johny :-) . . . Thank you, I'm real glad you like them. I'll message you about a PS. Thanks for the Heart too <3
Response: Chriss, I am thrilled that you like them :-D . . I was hoping you would. . . I had a lot of fun making them. . . Thanks for the Heart <3
Response: You're welcome Chriss and thank you for the <3 Heart <3
Response: I'm happy you liked it.
Response: You're welcome Toni, and thank you for the heart :-)
Response: Thank you Carlee :-) I am encouraged to try another one sometime. Thanks for the heart :-)
Response: Thank you for the heart :-)
Response: Hi Joy :-) . . . . You are welcome and I thank you for your lovely rating and heart <3 I really had no idea how the completed Build a House postcard would look when I started it, I thought it might look similar to others I had seen, but as usually happens, when I start looking through my hodgepodge collection of stuff for the papers I'm going to use, I get inspired from the bits I find. This time I happened upon the sparkly silver paper which I thought would be great for the windows, and then I saw the shiny black paper with the sparkly swatches and knew it had to be the background. That was an old piece I had for years from the cover of a Finger Hut Christmas catalog. :-)
Response: Hello Annick :-) . . . . You're welcome and thank you for giving a heart to my art. I love to carve stamps very much. I started out using a Speedball Lino Cutter Blade - No. 1 Small V, and I can still use that fairly well now that I know more of what I'm doing and trying to do, but I really started making better details when I switched to an NT Cutter Resin Holder Art Knife, which is like an X-acto craft knife except with a much smaller blade. I just felt like I had more control with the knife than with the gouge, but they are both very capable of making details. Also, the only material I use for carving so far has been the pink Speedball Speedy-Carve. Learning stamp carving has been a slow process for me and I still work at getting smaller and better detail. Whenever I can I try to examine photos of the work from stamp carving artists that I admire.
Response: Hi Raven! . . . . You're welcome and thank you for giving my work a heart. I appreciate it :-) You haven't posted much of your zentangle art but what I saw on Flickr looks good. I only have more experience drawing this sort of art; I started doodling (now called tangling) 48 years ago. . . . Raven could you do a small favor for me and take a photo of the ATCs I sent to you for this swap for my records. I try to photograph everything I send out but lately I've been forgetting. Send to
[email protected] TIA :-)
Response: Hello Jessica :-) . . . . Thanks for writing such a wonderful rating for me and for all the hearts! I'm really glad you liked my stamps. I love to use them on the back of postcards and envelopes. I hope we will be swap partners again and maybe I could be the recipient of one of your great ATCs like I saw on Flickr. Jessica could you do a small favor for me and take a snapshot of the ATCs I sent to you for my records? I totally forgot to do that before I sent them to you. Send to
[email protected] TIA :-)
Response: Hi Christy :-) . . . You're welcome and thanks for the heart! I'm super glad you liked the postcard, and I hope your daughter will like it too. If you'd like to read some of his non-physics writing try "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!: Adventures of a Curious Character" and "What Do You Care What Other People Think?"
Response: You're welcome and thank you for bestowing a heart for my efforts. . . . . dusting {argg!} I've grown very unconcerned for the state of dust on surfaces I'm exposed to, though it wasn't always like that. When I was 5 years old my mother decided that dusting was to be my forever chore. I did other chores, but dusting was my first and always chore. I realize now this assignment to a defenseless 5 year old was indicative of my mother's already poor attitude towards me.
Response: Thanks Angie :-) ... Sometimes I'll do sketchy drawing and then make a final line, erasing the previous lines. But without an eraser, I just went for better accuracy. It's a slower process and I still yearned for the eraser. Thanks for the lovely heart <3
Response: Hi Tricia :-) Thanks for liking my postcard! I really liked it too and had a good time making it for you. Thank you very much for giving me a heart <3
Response: Hello Becky :-) . . . . I'm glad you found the words to be encouraging! And thanks so much for giving me a heart <3 :-D
Response: Hi Carroll :-) Thank you so much for liking my Geometric postcard. I have a much nicer postcard I made of the design that I wanted to mail to you in an envelope because it's colored with color pencils, but the instructions said to only send naked, so made the one with markers. It doesn't look as good though. And BTW, I forgot to take a photo of the one I mailed. Could you please send me a good photo of it for my records? Don't worry if it was banged up in the mail, I would still like a picture of it. TIA <3 . . . . And thank you very much for giving a Heart :-)
Response: Hi Jennifer :-) Thank you for the lovely comment <3 . . . . WOW! I went to look at yours on Flickr (Chance for a dream come true?) and it is freakin' Awesome! Very well crafted and love the composition too. . . . . . Thanks very much for the Heart! I wouldn't be able to spell many words correctly if not for the spellcheck feature that tells me when I've made a mistake. I try to not send messages, texts or emails without looking to see if something has been underlined in red.
Response: Thank you very much Nickalli :-) I've been carving stamps off and on for almost 2 years, and a constant goal for me is to be able to do small lettering like Tian Gan, my favorite stamp carver (http://www.thisisjusttosay.co/ . . . http://gantian.se/ . . . https://www.facebook.com/myrubberstamp/). She is truly amazing. I appreciate your kind comments and the heart <3
Response: Thank you Carroll :-) I loved making the lists for you and Met, but, yeah, the lists were difficult to write. But I really enjoyed making and gathering the "pages." I tried to make yours and Met's as alike as I could. Thanks for the Heart and I hope you will have a wonderful New Year! <3
Response: You are very welcome Met :-D I loved making the lists for you and Carroll. I made the presentations as identical as I could. It was hard for me to think of 10 things for each list, but gathering and making the "pages" was a blast. That's funny about the different interpretations for "pet name," and I make moments of gratitude a part of every day, even stuff that I may not like, I find an aspect to be grateful for. Thank you for giving me a Heart too <3 !
Response: Thanks very much Pat :-) The spiral is one of favorite shapes. I have carved several of them and plan to make more in the future. Never too many spirals! If you ever get to send me a swap, be sure to use your spiral stamp on the envelope for me to see. And thanks for the Heart <3 !
Response: Thanks Tina :-) Thanks for the Heart <3 !
Response: Thanks very much! I printed an outline of the hand symbol that I found on Google Images in the size that I needed, then I cut it out and used it for a template. Then I cut out the shape with scissors and pasted it on top of the other image that would show through. Thanks for the Heart <3 !
Response: Hi again Linda! . . . Thanks for your wonderful comment and heart for my postcard :-) I just loved the card too much to risk it being scratched up. I still feel sad about the Bit of Yellow one because I really loved it too. /// I had saved those circles of gorgeous contrasting colors for a long time and was really happy with how they popped on the card. I'm going to go to Flickr and rename the postcard Creamsicles & Dreamsicles :-) The dada centenary stamp is from the wonderful Keith Chambers who I know through IUOMA (http://iuoma-network.ning.com/profile/KSChambers?xg_source=profiles_memberList).
Response: Hi Angie :-) Thank you for your sweet comment and heart for my postcard. I am very glad to be back in my room, and I am almost finished getting everything arranged. I finally have acquired several more storage drawers and will be getting my hoard of collage material straightened out. How long that will take remains to be seen :-)
Response: Hi Lisa :-) I'm so glad you liked my postcard. I liked it a lot too and had a good time making it. Thanks for the heart too <3 (sorry for being late to respond. I had a lot going on lately but am mostly caught up)
Response: Hi Linda :-) I apologize for responding to your Wonderful comment so late. I had a lot of unresponded to comments piling up while I tried to locate my bag of round tuits :-) . . . . I am just so happy that you liked the mushroom postcard so much. I loved making it for you. I turned 19 in 1968 when I was introduced to the writings of Huxley and others, and turned on, tuned in, and dropped out, so to speak. And I am so very glad my postcard arrived intact for you. YAY!!
Response: Hi Joan :-) I hope you haven't taken offence for my habit of responding really late to comments. Usually there are quite a few piled up before I can locate a round tuit in the vastness of my foggy world :-) . . . . Thanks for the lovely comment and heart <3 I'm really happy to know you like my swaps so much :-)
Response: Hi Prairie :-) I hope you haven't taken offence for my habit of responding really late to comments. Usually there are quite a few piled up before I can locate a round tuit in the vastness of my foggy world :-) . . . . Thanks very much for your comment and heart <3 :-)
Response: Hi Melanie :-) I hope you haven't taken offence for my habit of responding really late to comments. Usually there are quite a few piled up before I can locate a round tuit in the vastness of my foggy world :-) . . . . Thank you very much for your very nice comment. I had a LOT of fun making your ATC, trying to match the look of the stamp. I based the ATC on an album cover of hers that was very psychedelic. I was a hippie of the late 60's and early 70's so I resonated with the art. Thanks for the heart too <3
Response: .... ;_; .... :-( .... that just makes me feel so very sad . . .. I'm not going to mail any more naked postcards ever . . . . Thanks for the nice comment and heart <3
Response: Hi Tricia :-) I think it's wonderful that my postcard brings up music in your mind. Thanks for giving me a wonderful rating <3
Response: Hi Lisa :-) Thank you for appreciating my all black postcard and for this wonderful rating <3
Response: Hi Tracy :-) Thank you for appreciating my ATC and for this wonderful rating <3
Response: Thank you very much Carroll :-) I appreciate and love the heart too <3
Response: Gosh, I'm a week behind on my rating responses. ... Joan you're very welcome and thank you for gifting me with a heart. I have been doodling and zentangling long before there was a business that gave it a name and decided to try to copyright designs that people have been drawing since the beginning of time.
Response: Gosh, I'm a week behind on my rating responses. ... Thank you Danielle for the lovely comment and rating. I'm so sorry the first mailing got lost and I took so long to resend. I don't fire on all my cylinders sometimes (way old expression). No need to apologise for anything. I'm the mother of 3 grown daughters who were once babies of course, so I know what hectic means!
Response: Thanks very much Coleen :-) I'm glad you liked it and I'm very happy you may use it in your journal. Thanks for giving me a heart <3
Response: Thank you Gina! I love to use QR codes which I collect all the time. I'm ever so slowly working on a 14" x 18" collage that has nothing but QR codes for the background. One of these days I need to stop signing up for wall to wall swaps and work on that one plus about 4 other projects I've begun but never have finished. I'm horrible at time management because of my internet addiction. I used to get so much more done before the internet took over existence as I used to know it. People who aren't addicted to the internet were never the information junkie I've always been. I work at sitting at my computer less every day, but some days I'm hopelessly lost.
Response: You're welcome Ellen :-)
Response: Hi Vanessa :-) . . . You're welcome! I'm very glad you enjoyed my letter and the postcard. I'll try to write some more soon.
Response: Hi Raven :-) You're welcome! I had a good time looking for suitable items for this swap. It wasn't so easy as most colors. I happened to have some paper sample booklets given to me that had various shades of white paper, but after a while they all started to look the same. And I had a great snow man picture and a Dalmatian, but they had too much black and other color to be of much help. Thanks for giving a heart <3
Response: HI Linda :-) I'm happy you liked the vintage graciepie collage. I had to do some re-gluing in a few places and around the edges in a couple of spots. I hope it arrived intact. I feel good about getting your mail too :-D
Response: Hi Phe :-) Thank you very much for your sweet compliment for my Ladybug ATC. Also I'm happy you like the doodle bug note card. That image was from a swap I did long ago, and I liked making it because I used to play with doodle bugs as a kid, like little pets. A requirement for that swap was for the ATC to look like a card from the game of Magic with the same layout.
Response: Thank you Sherry! I went with colored pencils again because I love to use them. I'm glad you liked my stamp images too. Thanks :-)
Response: Thank you very much Joan :-) Thanks for giving a heart too <3 If you'd like to see a little of the process I used to draw it, the photo I posted at Flickr has a bit of a breakdown,
https://www.flickr.com/photos/gracesanford/28730682715/in/photostream/
Response: Hi Joey :-) Thank you very much! I am thrilled you liked my ATCs. A complement from you for security ATCs means a whole lot to me. Yours are the best! Thanks for giving a heart <3
Response: You're welcome.
Response: Hi Tara :-) You're very welcome and I'm happy you liked my postcard. Thanks for giving me a heart <3
Response: You're welcome Alicia :-) And thanks so much for giving me a heart <3
Response: You're welcome Angenita :-) I'm happy you like everything and are going to use the miniatures in your journal. Thanks for giving me a heart too <3
Response: You're very welcome Angela! Thank you for giving a heart :-) <3
Response: You're welcome.
Response: Than you Gina :-) I did have fun with the swap! The ones I sent to you are probably too dark to use for address labels I realize belatedly, but I hope you'll find a use somewhere for them. I forgot to take a photo of the sheets for my art file of all the swaps I've sent out. Could you please send me an email with a .jpg file of each one?
And, BTW, I did get the extra smaller sheet with more of your labels along with the full sheet. Thanks for that. Your labels are just right for adding an address to, not too dark like mine.
Response: Wow! You're welcome Angie. I'm happy you AND your husband liked it so much :-D Thanks for giving a heart too! I love hearts <3
Response: Thanks Gina :-) I'm very happy you like the postcard front and back! Thank you also for giving me a <3 HEART <3
Response: Thanks Jenny. You're welcome :-)
Response: You're Welcome :-)
Response: Thank you Angie :-) I approached the paintbrush with great trepidation because I don't do a lot of painting any more. But I was a little pleased with the results and encouraged to try again soon. Thanks very much for sending a heart <3
Response: Thank you Tanya :-) I was so nervous sending you King Kamehameha, but I worked on making it the best I could even though there weren't any moving parts. I was very pleased with myself for how the coloring came out. I used a lot of different colored pencils and blended, and used a lot of single stroke lines. I just worked slowly, one section at a time, while looking at the image that I printed out. Thanks very much for sending a heart <3
Response: You're welcome.
Response: Thanks Monique :-) Birds fly over deserts in their migrations, and the expanses of sand kinda look like a brown ocean, so I thought it looked pretty cool for birds. Thanks for liking my handmade stamp images :-) And thanks for the heart rating too <3
Response: Thanks Paige :-) I wound up really loving that card too. And thanks for the heart rating too <3
Response: You're welcome Paige :-) Sometimes I decide on making a geometrically inspired collage rather than cut out images. Thanks for liking my stamp images, and thanks for the heart rating too <3
Response: Thank you Marissa. The idea of Woodstock sitting on a lemon was funny to me :-) And thanks for the heart rating too <3
Response: Thank you Liz :-) And thanks for the heart rating too <3
Response: You're welcome Marjan! I'm glad you liked it. I love making geometric art :-)
Response: Hi Carrie :-) Thanks very much for writing your nice review of my 4th Kandinsky Circles postcard. I love to work with colored pencils. The address label image is of a Kandinsky-like circle I made when I first got my Neocolor II crayons. I made several of them because those crayons are made for blending like that. I chose a few of my more colorful art works for my address labels.
Response: I am SO happy you liked the ATCs so much :-D This was a really fun swap to do. The Raiden image came from a "gameinformer" magazine. A while back my 16 yr. old grandson, Adrian, needed some money so I bought a box full (50) of the magazines from him. So now I have a ton of those kind of images. Yes! A postcard swap of this theme will be fun too.
Response: OMG! Yay!! It's just a miracle after all this time. I'm so glad it finally arrived :-D I can't remember what I put in it but I really do hope it was worthy of the wait.
Response: You're so welcome Raven. I'm super glad you liked the card and both sides too. Thanks for the heart and your lovely comment :-)
Response: No worries about any delay, look how long it sometimes takes me to get to responses for the kind words of my fellow swappers. I'm really happy you loved my ATC, I had a good time making it. Thanks for the heart and for the love :-D
Response: Gosh I'm 10 days behind on responses, so sorry . . . . Thanks very much for the heart and for the love :-) I'm really happy you enjoyed the card and the envie.
Response: :-) You're welcome Gina! Those doggies are so doggone cute :-D
Response: Hi Amy :-) I'm really happy that you liked my carving and my art, and appreciated the envelope, card, and ATCs. I really get a kick from making a stamp and then using it for art and decorations over and over. Do you have any of your stamped art posted anywhere? I'll make some new stamped art and put it in my Flickr Album for trades and then I'll let you know when I have them in the Album to view.
Response: You are really welcome Gina, and I sure appreciate your kind words. Thank you :-)
Response: Thanks Steph. I'm glad you liked it. I think my daughter's photo was genius and I've always liked it. I'm planning to send you the other photo I considered for this project, one I took last December, but I sent this one first because it was more fun to look at.
Response: :-D Yay!!! I am just so happy that you (and your husband) really liked the package I sent. I love making little geometric shape models, and for you I just scooped up all the ones I had on my desk for so long (wish there had been more) and wrapped it all up in a small Pringles can with the decorated Duck Brand Tape I had bought so long ago but never had used before. Now I have the fun of making a whole new set of shapes. :-)
Response: Thanks Tricia. I'm happy you enjoyed it :-)
Response: You're welcome Wendy and thank you as well :-) I'm glad you enjoyed the card.
Response: Thank you very much Joan :-) I really sweated over this swap, and sent it out thinking it was just too weird to be liked. But happily I was wrong. It is a face that grows on you LOL.
Response: Thank you Chelle! I'm glad you received it and that you like it. The circles is a stamp I made. I started a year ago and just love making my own stamps.

Response: Wow :-D (big grin) Thank you! I'm so happy that you were my partner for this swap and that you were the one to receive "Blue Light Special." Truthfully, I made this one with you in mind because I knew you were getting it. Who knows what it may have looked like if I had been assigned a different partner.
Response: Thank you Angie, you're too kind. It's hard to go wrong on this swap; all the ones I've seen on Flickr are beautiful. I liked making the envelope so much, I stamped designs on my next 2 envelopes I sent out (return trio jams to Jan and Fleur).
Response: You are very welcome Marjan! Thank you :-) I'm so Happy you enjoyed my heart card. I loved making it for you.
Response: Thanks very much Beverly :-) I had loads of fun finally making my first multi-layered card, so I won't be so nervous the next time. I'm super glad you enjoyed the card!
Response: Hi Marjan, I'm very glad you enjoyed my card. I worried how it would look after traveling so far. If you can, I'd appreciate you taking a photo and sending to
[email protected]. I'm going to be trying to get as much feedback as I can about how my postcards look when they arrive at their destination.
Response: You are very welcome Renee. I loved making this one; it's always a puzzle trying to place as many of the letter pictures as I can in the space of a postcard.
Response: Thank you for your sweet comments Ricarda :-) I think your art is wonderful, you are very talented!
Response: You're welcome Mary :-)
Response: Thanks Tricia :-) I'm very glad you enjoyed my Kandinsky Circles. I always wonder how my postcards end up. I wish I could see all of them after delivery. I hope your oil pastel art fared well.

Response: You're welcome Joyce :-)
Response: Now catching up with responding to my latest comments. ///// Hi Gina, thanks very much. The artistamp is my very first based on an ATC I made, so I've never traded before. I'm very pleased you want to, and yes I'd like to make artistamp trades. I'm going to look at yours (at Flickr I presume) and let you know which ones I like the best. How many stamps do people usually trade I wonder?
Response: Now catching up with responding to my latest comments. ///// You're welcome :-) Thanks. I liked your self portrait a lot more. It really resembles you.
Response: Now catching up with responding to my latest comments. ///// You're welcome Angie. That was such a fun card for me.
Response: Thanks Very much Raven :D I'm thrilled that you like it so much! You're welcome too :)
Response: You're welcome :) I'm happy you liked it. I love making collages.
Response: You're welcome :)
They are all my own hand carved stamps. It was well received on Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/gracesanford/20176006040/in/dateposted/
Response: Barbara how wonderful that you have received the postcard, and I'm really chuffed (as the British say) that you liked it before you even got it. How did it fair in the postal journey? That's a special postcard after all; in the IUOMA is a group of mail artists that celebrate mail art made with trash which is called TrashPo (for Trash Poetry). I was awarded a nomination for The TrashPo Litzer Prize - Landfill of Fame with that postcard as my first attempt at TrashPo. :) It was declared to be in the category of aesthetic TrashPo.
Response: Raven I loved reading your rating for my ATC. I read it several times, and then I wanted to wait to respond until I had the time to do a proper conveyance of my gratitude for your appreciation. I always work hard on my art and fall in love with it all, so when I send it to someone who really lets me know how much it was appreciated, it just makes me feel so good. <3 :D I'm glad you liked my Raven on the envelope. I figured it was a good time to use it. I don't normally use the big ones on envelopes. I know we would be great friends. Thank you very much :)
Response: You're welcome, and thank you for liking the cards and giving me a heart <3 I thought all 4 cards had been received before I posted them, which I've been trying to do more lately.
Response: Thank you :D You're welcome! You know I had a blast making that card, and how lucky am I to have saved the picture of Princess Pink Papillon Pig! She's so cute I had to save her for a special purpose. Thanks for giving me a Heart <3
Response: You're welcome Loretta and thank you as well. I'm so glad people are liking my stamps, thay are so much fun to make. Thanks for giving me a heart <3
Response: You're so welcome Angie :) And thanks for being understanding about the collage part. LOL I was just doing what the video said and then totally forgot it was for the collage group. Thanks for giving me a heart <3
Response: You're welcome and thank you so much Barbara :) I'm thrilled that people like my stamps. You know, now that all 4 of my responses are in from this swap, with embarrassment I want to say none of you noticed I forgot to put any collage on the cards. I was having so much fun making my first masterboard and stamping like the video showed, I just totally forgot the swap was for the Creative Collage group. LOL :-) BTW - I totally learned to make stamps by watching YouTube videos and practicing a lot. I started with just using a small V gouge, but now I've learned using the small knife is better in most of it. Thanks for giving me a heart <3
Response: You're welcome and thank you so much Angela :-) I'm thrilled that people are liking my stamps. Thanks for giving me a heart <3

Response: Thank you Patricia :) Thanks for the heart too <3
Response: Thank you Pat :) My stamps are far from perfect (machine made stamps are perfect), but I guess I start with a fairly good drawing, and geometric shapes are easier since they mostly have straight lines. Thank you very much for giving a heart <3 :D
Response: John, I'm super wowed that you like my fishtank postcard so much :D Thanks for all your wonderful compliments and for giving me a heart <3
Response: Thanks Angie for sending me such a nice rating comment :D I'm VERY glad you like the Zebra card. With all the black and white of the animal and the background I thought it would be right to add my favorite - colored circles/spots/dots LOL I have a huge quantity of them cut out :) And thanks for giving me a heart <3
Response: Mandy, I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with responses to my ratings. I always read my rating messages right away, but if I don't have the immediate time to respond, I sometimes forget to go back to say thanks. Right now I'm 3 behind including yours. Your rating for my ATC was especially sweet to me :) I am very glad you liked it because I made the raven with you in mind. Another lady mentioned I should make a Poe card with the stamp, which I plan to do. I'll let you know when I do so you could go to Flickr and see it. Do you have a Facebook account? Send me a message if you do. And thanks for giving me a heart <3

Response: Thank you Tricia :) I'm super glad you like the card I made for you. And thanks also for giving me a heart <3
Response: Hi Julia :) . . . . I'm super glad you liked the postcard I made for this swap. The book is one my youngest daughter was given as a young child. I found it in the downstairs bookcase, with a torn inside cover first page. I'm sure that happened log ago. I took out the page carefully with a craft knife, and used part of it that wasn't affected by the tear. The pages are pretty big. So then my daughter, who is 25 now, saw the book and wanted it back. LOL.
Yes, I carved all the stamps I use to decorate my postcards. I started carving in February, and I just love makeing them! It's really fairly easy; the pink Speedball Speedy-Carve is easy to use, and the Speedball Linoleum Cutter Assortment, of which you'll mainly use the small V.
Thanks for giving me a heart <3
Response: Thank you Cheryl :) I wish I could somehow get to see your addition to it. Maybe the one it's going back to will post it somewhere and let us know, or maybe you would take a photo of the card before you mail it and then send that to
[email protected]. Then I could see the whole card. I can't wait to get the one I sent out back to me, all filled in with other people's contributions. It's going to be fun getting it in the mail.
Response: Thanks Jo :-D, and thanks for the heart too <3
Response: You're welcome Joan, and I thank you that you like my card and let me know :) Thank you for giving me a heart too <3

Response: You're welcome Carrie! I'm so glad you liked what I sent, and thanks for the heart <3
Response: I happy and relieved you like and appreciate my handmade stamps. I don't have the fab collection of store-bought stamps others have, so I was grateful you were my partner for this swap. I'm so glad we have been able to continue sharing our art with each other! :) and thanks for all the lovely hearts (back at ya!)
Response: You're welcome! :D
I'm so very glad you liked my envelope and the contents. I love to collect animal pics for collage uses. Thanks for rating the heart <3

Response: Oh! I am so behind in my rating responses, sorry for this delay.
Thanks for your praise of my carving; I have just really loved learning to do it, and try to be better each time. I mainly only use the small V gouge that comes with the Speedball Linoleum Cutter Assortment, and sometimes I use my X-acto #11 blade for very tight corners. I'm very happy you like all 3 of the cards, I wasn't sure what you might like so I sent all three. Thanks for the heart too <3
Response: Oh! I am so behind in my rating responses, sorry for this delay.
I'm really looking forward to seeing yours and everyone's art additions. I love the individuality of art. There is NO mess up!

Response: I'm so glad you liked my postcard Cheryl :D
I use "Avery Permanent Glue Stic." This is what I mainly use for paper collage gluing. Once in a while I'll use a tiny bit of Elmer's white glue for very small pieces, but mostly the Avery glue stick. (white glue is too wet for larger pieces and areas) I just put on a really thick layer of glue stick on the paper I'm going to stick the top paper to, then carefully lay down the top piece with the side lined up, and gently put the rest down. Then I turn it all over on a clean sheet of paper and start pressing the heck out of the back, all over, and extra pressing where I know the edges are. Then I lay something heavy on the whole thing. I come back to it in a while and peel it off the clean paper, and then trim the edges.
I just realized I was supposed to write an ART quote that speaks to me, but I think I forgot the ART part LOL.
Response: I also thought the effect the plastic had on the color was interesting, and I'm so glad you did too! And I thought some of the colors were in your favorite range too. Thanks very much for giving me a heart <3
Response: You're welcome Angela, and thank you for the heart <3. LOL, yep I did take the minimalist route with the color on this :)
Response: Thanks Jenny :)
Response: Thanks Carol :) I admit, the card is a bit random LOL, but I had a blast making it. Thanks so much for the heart :) <3
Response: Linda you have made me so happy that you really like my abstract composition :) I am thrilled that you have placed it in a mobile that hangs over your desk! WOW :D And thanks bunches for the heart <3 I love every one I receive.
Response: You're so welcome Linda! I am very HAPPY you have liked my card and my art. That's the biggest postcard I have ever made, but when I found that beach babe balancing a beach ball on her nose, I just had to use it! It was too good to pass up for a "B" card. If you'd like to see the complete line drawing of the print I used on the back go to: https://www.flickr.com/photos/gracesanford/14055973548/in/set-72157644895649820. Thanks for giving me a heart too <3
Response: Kayenderes thanks very much! I'm happy you enjoyed my card, and thanks for sending me a heart <3
Response: Thank you Angie.
So sorry a piece of the beige came off on the right side. Considering I didn't coat it with anything, I guess I'm lucky that's all that came to be missing. Next time you are a partner with me in a swap I'll send a replacement piece you can glue on.
Thanks also for giving a heart :D <3
Response: :) OMG . . . I did put it upside down didn't I ?!
Well, it certainly is unique!
Thanks for your love and heart <3 :D
Response: Thanks very much Candy, and thank you also for giving me a heart <3 :)
Response: Thanks very much Mary! :D
I have always loved to carefully cut out little pictures, to follow the lines with the scissors. I'm just weird like that LOL. I can't believe I managed to save all the black line clippings from the old newspapers that I did and I always wish I had saved more of them. Thanks VERY much for the heart <3
Response: I'm so glad you liked it Michele :)
Thanks for giving me a lovely heart too <3
Response: You're welcome :) I had a blast making it. I may make more sometime. One could easily spend all day, every day, designing and making mini-zines.
Response: Thanks Liam! I'm very happy you liked what I made for you. Thanks for giving me a heart too <3 . . . I really wish I could see yours that you sent to cookingbear who said it had a dystopian theme. That sounds really interesting.
Response: Thank you Jamie! :D I am really thrilled that you are happy with your swaps and with the birthday inchies. Thanks very much for giving me a heart <3 :)
Response: Thanks Linda :) I'm super happy you like it because for some inexplicable reason I kinda struggled with it, like giving birth to a reluctant baby LOL. Thanks for giving me a heart too <3
Response: I'm so glad you like it :) I had a blast making it. The rules said use anything for a base as long as it's sturdy so I went for it. Please, did it arrive completely intact? I'm afraid the box wasn't wide enough.
Response: Thanks Carla :) I enjoyed yours as well!
Response: Thank you VERY, very much! :D
I am thrilled that you liked my swap package I made for you!
On the envelope I used Avery Permanent Glue Stic. I pray the pieces haven't come off. :( Is that why you're asking?
The note card was a print from my cheap printer of a 4" x 4" drawing I did years ago, and yes, I think the markers were alcohol markers, which is why the color faded so badly, either BIC or Sharpie which are alcohol based.
Again, thank you for rating a heart and for your joy-inspiring words.
Response: I can't believe I didn't respond to your comment yet. Thank you very much for your wonderful comment to me about my Altered Heart. As one of my first ever 3D art projects that wasn't a geometrical construction, I can't begin to tell you how much fun I had doing it, and how pleased I was when I was done. Indeed, Happy Crafting! :)

Response: You're very welcome Paula, my pleasure. The finest size pen I use is a 005 which is 0.2 mm wide. You have to have a very light touch when using them or you'll destroy the tip and no ink will come out. Thanks also for giving me a heart <3
