Comment: My dear Lily, what a lovely set of cards to receive. I love the feel and messages were exactly what I needed. Thank you . The liquitex works excellently, no sticky at all. Not like Mod podge I used to use. I love the colour way and layering, you are an inspiration, to me! Blessings
Response: I am glad you liked them, they were fun to make.
Comment: I have had the best time of my journal life through Dominique Juliet Emilie Marie Piquard.. thank you ever so much Ruth aka Constance & Amira aka Flora Rose... what a delightful year of heightened artology!
Comment: Dear Lily, what a delightful surprise I have received in the post this morning! I am very impressed with your filled bodice, the silk threads tucked in the collar was a gorgeous addition, THANK YOU! Many many hearts for your efforts.
Comment: Ruth I love it! My partner flew light aeroplanes and was as impressed with your drawing/painting as myself. I really like the atmosphere the dusty stars & sky give. Yes I do like hand writing indeed. Thank you for thinking of that element. Many hearts and stars to you xxx
Comment: My apologies Ruth, forgot to rate. I was astounded at your clever artworkings, Yours is an art journal well worth the effort and time invested in pouring ones whole self into the pages. I loved the idea of carrying forward an element from previous page. Well done You!
Comment: I was intrigued by the wrapping, which led me on a 'where the wild things are' chase ending in an Wow! landing...well done Ruth. Now you've got me thinking hard...what shall i choose to flow on.... Cheers!
Comment: Thank you very much for your letter! :) I would love to give extra hearts if that was possible. What a creative idea for the envelope! And thank you very much for the wonderful note :) I appreciate that you took the time to write it! And I loved the rabbit, wow, great drawing :) Thanks for including the postcard, it is very interesting, I love to see this kind of card from different countries, it's interesting to see how and what is advertised :) The image I'll write about to you is the black and write image, correct? Should I send it back to you or keep it? (I received mine back in this swap, but either way is fine for me :)) I'm already thinking about what to write, I have some ideas :) I'll write your letter after the Christmas days, I'm looking forward to it. Happy holidays to you and all the best!
Comment: Thank you for your story and lovely letter. Please do not worry that your story has to be simple for other people to add to it yet complex to stand on its own. Just write what you like without worrying about that! I'm looking forward to continuing it!
Comment: Dear Ruth, (it would be my greatest delight to swap one on one with you without the time line pressure. Look in messages.) I loved your approach and it brought happy memories back to me...thank you so much, many hearts xxx
Comment: Wonderful contribution to my journal Lily! I feel very lucky indeed, the linen is marvelous i also am intrigued with those powders! I like the clever use of pockets and pull outs. I enjoy learning new techniques from our clever swappers! Thank you for the delightful extras aswell. 😃💗
Response: At last the first circle is complete and I think we all learned from each other. Lets do it again (but not before Christmas!)
Comment: WOW!!! Wonderful, Original! , Creative, Beautiful!!! Thanx so much for the Jointed JESTER & Zebra in the Jollyboat! ;-) 1 of my favorites!!! I would luv to have a Peacock page by you!!! ;-) Thanx Again, Blessings, cc
Response: This was one of my favorites too :) I haven't done a peacock yet, I find them daunting.
Comment: Your work in that journal is crazy gorgeous!!! I mean, oh my god. I think the owner is no longer in our group so I am going to try to transfer it to another journal. I mean, this is art!!! (Correction, the owner still is in our group, even better :) )
Comment: Wow !! I loved your letter. Thanks so much. The envelope is beautiful and the more I looked at it -- you made it !! I've never tried making envelopes yet but know I will have to try. The pictures are wonderful. I love to take pictures too and was impressed with yours. My favorite one was the foggy morning one. Thanks again.
Response: I'm glad you liked the photos. I kept coming back to that foggy morning one too, even though its not my most colourful photo I remember the eerie feeling of walking through the fog and the scrub.
Comment: Cutest ATC ever! I love the Mouster. He makes me think of 007- but as a mouse. Thank you for the extras as well- especially the Doctor who bit and the Australian Tea. I've tried many of Twinings blends- they are a particular favorite of mine, but I've never had Australian afternoon tea.
Comment: Hey Lily, thank you very much for the ATCs. I really like them and I quite agree with their message. I can see why they took a long time to make. Also, thanks a lot for the paper goodies. They'll come in handy, and I love the pages from the South African book. I can actually understand quite a bit of it :)
Comment: well...not sure what the ransom note is saying at the beginning...can not find or translate "operadistra" any where on-line...I love the look of the note, all the colors and the painting...love the 2 fabrics as well...I guess since I can't figure out what you are holding of mine for ransom, that the plant will just have to "get it" as you say, as no hand knotted papooses for mooses will be forth coming hahahahaha!
Response: The 'Operadistra' is a plant like an aspidistra that sings tenor. A purely fanciful creation that you might have tucked away *smile*
Comment: I absolutely love the fact that you used found objects to create your art and the metaphor found within the 'spotlight' theme of 'don't criticize me'. Great piece of art and thank you for all of the goodies you included. Keep on thinking 'outside the box' in your artmaking.
Comment: Clever girl, Miss Lily! I looked all over for a text ATC swap, and couldn't find one...and then realized (by reading the back of the ATC) that you'd made this for a book page swap! Oh, I love it! Thank you for a great ATC, and for the sweet extras, too.
Comment: Wow, your envelopes where beautifull! My daughter is four years old and keeps asking me about the envelope. She holds it in her hands and asks "can you read me this story"? Your little letter inside became a 'please-let-me-out-of-the-oven'-letter. (Of course I did not let her burn in the oven.) And you did get good books from your local store. I can read the text. No it's not in Dutch, it's in South African. It's in the language of the white farmers. It is easy to understand :-)
Comment: Thanks so much for the swap, I love that I can choose between coloured and black and white, wish I would have thought of that! And the tea was marvelous, I had some wile I read your poems and tucked them in my journal. Thanks again, happy swapping, and I hope to see you around!
Comment: Thanks for the wonderful PINK altered text ATC. I think it's really cool your text is matching the colors in the series. I appreciate the time it must have taken you to create it. Yours is only the second I've received since I just started with altered text on the PINK.
Thanks for the stickers too.
Comment: Miss Ruth, you have me laughing...this technique also did not work for me, although it could have been my granddaughter's Barbie nail polish that failed, and not me! But oh my, what you did with it is spectacular! I absolutely cannot draw, and admire those who can.
Response: LOL. Thanks Donetta, hmmm, maybe the common factor is the less up-market nail polish? Perhaps if we used really good/expensive stuff it would improve our art? :)
Comment: I don't mind getting you again. What a great ATC, you are very talented! It sounds like you and your husband, are like my boyfriend and I. We always think about and analyze things we watch. Thank you for all of the great extras too! I love the Pirates of the Caribbean note card and I can't wait to try the tea, it looks great! =)
Comment: I made it back from Germany last night, and found your delightful package waiting for me -- I love, love, love the card! The colors and details are amazing, and I think you rendered the scene beautifuly. Great composition! Watercolor is my nemesis (it hardly ever turns out the way I want it to) and you did a beautiful job. This ATC is definitely in my top favorites ever received! And the letter! I have re-read it several times already; what a wonderful idea. You nailed the tone of the book so well. Thank you, thank you, thank you -- I am so thrilled with what you sent!
Comment: Wow, thanks so much for the rinchies! That was so clever to make it into a diving helmet! And I love the lemon and the fish. Also, the tea you sent me sounds delightful - I think I will try it with breakfast tomorrow. :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the elephant, he is so cute! The attached cards are beautiful and have already tried the tea...delicious. I hope to someday be able to visit Australia, it looks like such a beautiful country.
Comment: I am remiss in rating so late but was so delighted with my magazine Mail Art Swap.
It was lovely to look at and had a lot of treasures tucked inside. Mislilyroo outdid herself! Happy mail box! Lynn
Response: Glad it got there. I loved those two pandas they looked great reclining on the sofas.
Comment: Now I got them! Seems second time is the charm this time :D I loved all of them, especially the peephole and pop-up, I did the pop-up myself as well and had so much fun with it! The cat looks exactly like mine, the green eys and everything! Also, thanks for sending again, hopefully stuff wont get lost again! Happy swapping and hopefully we'll meet again :))
Response: I am so glad they got there this time :)
Comment: Thanks so much for the Awesome ATC! I really loved that you used the Dr. Seuss fishy. One Fish, Two Fish was the first book I ever learned to read :) I love all the textures on the seaweed too. I just love everything! The extra owl images you sent are so awesome too - I know I'll be able to use them (probably for something selfishly for myself, lol!) Thanks thanks thanks!
Response: I am glad it made you smile. I really like that fish.
Comment: Wow, wow, wow! I have tortured a few people with my finely dressed alien requests and I have to say your card is excellent! Thank you so much! Very well drawn! My husband and I have also each called dibs on the Australian afternoon tea (it will follow our English Breakfast tea) hehe.
Response: I'm so glad you liked it. I had fun doing that one. The idea came almost straight away. (when I did the male body sketch I really thought 'Hey, that looks like Mr Darcy' which was an excellent start as he is sooo debonair)
Comment: OHMYGOODNESS!!! THIS is the most wonderful ATC I have ever received!!! I ADORE it!! It will not ever be put away, but proudly displayed on my table!! 5 hearts to you, Lily White!! Thank you sooo much!!
Response: Thank you so much. I am so thrilled when someone likes my work. (and it arrives safely) I was really happy with this one.
Comment: absolutely beautiful!
Please tape all the edges of your envies though! When it arrived the whole bottom seam had ripped and I would hate for such a beautiful creation to be lost in a mail bin somewhere!
Response: Thanks, I am glad you liked it I put hours into this one. I will in future be using better quality envelopes AND taping them. I sent an inchie swap to Finland which arrived sans inchies :(.
Comment: WOW - I not only appreciate this ATC but I thoroughly enjoy where you have gone with it. Slightly macabre and had me searching for the claw - excellent job, I love it, love it, love it.
Response: I am thrilled that you liked "Faded Dreams". (its a 'claw-foot bath :) a bit obscure I know) I'm not usually a macabre person but this idea just insisted on being realized. I'm glad its found a good home.
Comment: Your photos are great! Growing up my best friend was from Australia and hanging out with her and her family bred a great love of your country in me. I would love to visit one day! The old cemetary you photographed looks very interesting. We don't get a lot of old things around where I live. And your dog is super cute! Have a great day :)
Response: We think our dog is cute too :) The cemetary only dates from the late 1870's. So not old in European terms. There is such a difference between the old cemetary and the new lawn cemetary which goes in for small identical headstones in grassed lawns.and cremation walls.
Comment: What a beautiful card! Excellent work! I absolutely loved it. I am not familiar with Modigliano, work, so I had to look up the original -- you did a fantastic job replicating it! Thanks so much for the time and effort you put into the little treasure! (Loved the extras, too - I didn't know they had Seaworlds outside the US!)
Response: I am glad you liked it. I didnt like his work at first but I find it's grown on me :)
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful abstract card. It is the funniest thing-I have been planning to use the very same color palette in my painting. I guess it is true what they say about great minds thinking alike........
Response: Yes, it just seemed like the ideal colour choice when I started. I'd love to see yours too.
Comment: Thanks so much for these poems, Lily! My first thought when I read them, was "Wow... we may have real poet here." You teased quite a lot of feeling from those pages.
And I love the little white on black drawings... very nice work, Lily!
Response: It was such fun to do and never led where I thought when I started. Glad you liked :)
Comment: I love Tiger Moth! She is unique and beautiful! Truly the best of the best I've ever received on Swap-Bot. She was worth the wait flying across the oceans. And your extras are appreciated.... look forward to seeing where they pop up in a future creation.
Response: I am so glad Tiger Moth arrived safely and that he/she is a welcome addittion to your collection.
Comment: You did a fabulous job on your blackout poems! I especially liked the "virtue trembling at the thought of passion led astray" line! Mighty racy language for a novel written in 1828! Thank you so much for putting so much effort into the swap! I will give the frosting tip a try on my next batch of cupcakes! Cheers! Karen
Response: So glad you liked it. What I read of the novel was rather bleak so I too was surprised how the poems turned out :)
Comment: My boyfriend's reaction: 'But, but... This is an orgy of soup! Awesome!!!' :D Thank you so much, you went all out on this swap! And we LOVE Thai, so you couldn't have made us happier with your choice :) A pleasure to swap with you :)
Response: I am glad you will enjoy. Its a bit hot here for soup at the moment but I am looking forward to the lovely soup I received in the cooler months.
Comment: how super fantastic. not only is it gorgous the scrolls are fantastic. i love the messages and the ties are wonderful. i have been studying it very carefully to see how you made it. it like a lesson in scroll making and attaching to atc. if i could give you more hearts i would give you a lot more. a lot lot lot more. thank you for the fabulous atc.
Response: I am so thrilled it finally arrived and that you like it. It was definitely a learning experience to get them to fit. I hope we do another :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the amazing postcard. She arrived in great shape considering how far she came.It was my first altered face too and I ran into some of the same problems you mentioned. I like how she looks like a painting.
Comment: Thank you so much for the flower postcard of cardboard! I am so jealous you have flowers in your garden currently when all I have is snow :(. I especially love the Christmas Island Stamp and would love to swap with you for more if you were interested.
Comment: Thank you for the awesome postcard! I visited Mackay about 15 years ago :) Hope you all are cooling off a little down there. If you'd like some of our -35 degree C temps, I would be happy to send it your way! :)
Comment: Thank you for the great tree frog PC. I love it although I am going to loose it because my daughter collects frogs and the tree frog is her favorite. I wish that we had some of your rain. We are in the 3rd year of a drought and could use all the moisture we could get.
Comment: Thank you so much - not for one - but for 2 awesome ATCs. I love both of them a lot. I love the nice colors and the way you did the layout: I am proud to have these two beauties in my collection.
