Comment: Hello SUPERSTAR! Wow Mary Alice! I love all of the birds! What a beautiful card and glitter goodies, and most of all thank you for sending the bird ATC and inchies. I will cherish those for sure. I see you're not far from me, and so you're enjoying this beautiful weather?! I hope you have a wonderful holiday, Merry Christmas! --RJ
Comment: I love doing that king of background. Where did you get the container they are in?
Response: thanks for the heart...the plastic sheets I cut from a coin album from Hobby Lobby ($4.99)...there are coin sheets out there that are 2x2 squares (about maybe 16 or 24 squares per sheet) you can get on amazon too...cheers!
Comment: Another children's literature inspired zine! How wonderful! I feel like I hit the jackpot to receive this adorable zine from you. I love it! I noticed you used the Hero Arts Bookcase stamp as your background. I have that stamp on my wishlist!
Response: these are fun to put together to find the books that would fit...I saw the stamp at hobby lobby and was surprised I hadn't seen it before....its the perfect fit to the size of these zines...thanks for the heart....2 more to go...time flies!!!

Response: you're so welcome...thats one of my favs atcs I made this year so far....I love the tropics and birds and this paper pad I found made it all to easy and it turned out so cute..(.if I say so myself)...hee hee...so glad the tooth wasn't lost...hope you can use it in your neat things you make!....cheers!
Comment: Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for the AMAZING envelope flip book you sent me. I LOVE it so much. I was in awe of the amazing work you did. And thank you so much for making it personalized just for me. I LOVE the Mulan envelopes. I can't wait to reuse those! Thank you so much <3
Response: thank you for the lovely comments...I lucked out finding that Mulan paper... I was sooo excited myself!....it is really a pretty drawing of her in the gardens... this was a lot of fun pulling things together to make it all work out as it did!...glad you liked it...cheers!
Comment: Thanks for another fabulous zine! Did you make this on vellum originally? It has a look like vellum. Really pretty pictures you chose!
Response: hi thanks for your lovely comments...I didn't use vellum on this...the printer is not working right and it seems to be the density level of the black ink that makes it have that look...the orignal is white copy paper but not the copies...they have a black inked sheer added as a bonus!...lol...cheers!
Comment: Outstanding! I loved, loved, loved this zine! The children's books choices were awesome. I loved how you used the calendar block for each date. You are very creative and you made a wonderful zine! Thank you!
Response: thank you so much for the lovely comments...its the second time I made a zine this way...I taught 1st grade years ago and was a big book collector, so this is right up my alley...I still love to match books with just about anything...have a good rest of the summer...cheers!
Comment: I love the idea of a mini-coloring book! And I especially love that you created all the drawings! Such a great zine! The flag background looks so cool! This is definitely a favorite zine for me! Thanks so much!!!
Response: you're welcome...I really don't draw much....little patience for how slow I do things...lol...but these were simple ones and turned out cute...glad you liked it...cheers!
Comment: Lori, I love your Wacky Holiday Zines! The images you chose for June were spot-on for the holidays they decorate. My favorite is the girl dancing in her flower garden as she waters it! I love the random placement of the images with the white background, not sure what it was about it, but it was so pretty that way! The May Zine, Color Your Wacky Holiday, was a treat! What a great idea and your drawings were so clever! The flag background was cool too! And your little raccoon on the cards you included was just precious! If I could, I would give you 5 hearts for a 5-star swap! Thanks so much and best wishes to you!!
Response: thank you for the lovely comments...I loved putting that June one together...my fav was the girl, too...lol...glad you got both of them...have a great rest of the summer...cheers!
Comment: This is great! I had to look up Qweet and OMG there's just a word for everything. Very presidential word haha! I see the QUACK on the front and love how colorful and fun and themed you make these, like with the queen sticker, the quiche, queso, Q letters, etc. You have fun with these don't you? I want you for XYZ! Thanks!
Response: the last postcard will definitely be a challenge..cant remember how I got Qweet...didnt know that word existed either...these pcs are fun to do!!
Comment: So HIGH FIVE (this was awesome) to you! haha! That's what it says on the journal card you sent. It describes your zine very well. Your Abe Lincoln lying sign is hilarious! Hell, I'd do it for free, but I didn't know and the day passed me by. I'll have to wait until next year to tell a lie again. RIIIIIIIIIIGHT. I love how you used animals with signs (and one Lincoln with a sign) and then didn't put the words flush with the signs. Very artistic. I love the little sticker shapey thingies for the names of the days, and the calendars for the days and you know what? This group is full of people who make super fabulous zines and I love you all and yes it is late at night, why do you ask? Thanks so much! Anyway, thanks and I'm sorry for the late rating. I've not been well and am catching up tonight.
Response: this month was a good one for flowing ideas out of my head...I loved the abe one because of the spider web behind him...web of lies!!..lol...this month seemed to have many different holidays to create from...I was never good at poetry until I found out what an haiku was...poetry cool now...lol...cheers!!
Comment: Oh, what a fun bunch of "P" stickers! Even the stamp! You are good at this, aren't you? I think I laughed hardest at your first answer, because I transposed the words "plant pot" into something quite different, and thought, depending on the town, possibly! My fave is your description of the front picture. Or maybe the front picture itself. Awesome and thank you. Anyway, thanks and I'm sorry for the late rating. I've not been well and am catching up tonight.
Response: ohh...that was my very first thought for the first question...but went a diff direction...lol...and that just happened to be the perfect postcard for all the p adjectives!!...glad you like it!!...its fun to put these together...cheers!...glad you're doing better!...
Comment: Mary, I love the zine you created! You were so creative with the images and the layout; and the haikus were wonderful! How cool that you did that! My two favorites are "Juicy little pigs" and "Yo Dandelion"... I love the owl card too! Thanks so much for a fun swap!
Response: you're welcome....this was a fun one for me this month...my kiddos and I used to sit around and make up weird ones a lot (college age now and too sophisticated now to be as weird as mom...lol)...glad you liked it....cheers!

Comment: You are SO talented! I absolutely ADORE your Zine! The way you used the calendars and the book covers is just so clever! My daughters' loved The Jolly Postman as young ones! The got such a kick out of seeing that and Polar Bear, Polar Bear... in your Zine! And your paper itself, so smooth, colorful and folded to perfection! How did you do that? Thank you for the wonderful swap! We all loved it!
Response: thank you for such nice comments!....I.m glad ya'll liked the zine!...it was so fun to do!!....the copy paper I used I believe came from Target...and the folding of the zine...I was determined to get it straight....it fought back ...lol...but finally I got a good fold!!....thanks for the heart, too....see ya in March!!
Comment: Thanks so much for this fabulous zine! So my question is, did you create this digitally, or create physically and make copies? I can usually tell. My guess is digitally. What a clever idea to use book covers for the days! LOVE it! Thanks so much, and hope to see you again in March!
Response: thanks for the comment and heart!....left you a message about zine...this was so fun...my first one....more to make!!!....see you then...cheers!
Comment: Hi Mary Alice! Thanks for the great swap. I do have to comment that you did not put the name of the swap on or in the envie. That needs to be done, even if it doesn't say so in the details of the swap, as your partner may be in more than one swap of that nature, as I was. Thanks again!
Response: yes...big oops!!....I had a feeling when I was mailing them something was off but it just didn't occur to me....then another swapper mentioned it and I was like aww...that's what was the "off"....you'd think coming off of Christmas swaps I would remember...lol...so thanks for the reminder...have a good day...cheers!!
Comment: Thanks for the great card, the great quote, and the cute paper clip, which I will put to good use! And thanks for being patient waiting for me to get home and pick up our mail from the PO! I hope we get to swap again!
Response: sorry this response is a bit tardy...I'm glad you liked the paper clip...I am loving all the unique clips you can find these days...I am now trying my hand at making tiny envelope ones with little notes inside or tiny tags...take care and hope to swap again, too...cheers!!!

Comment: What a fun little card! Very unique. Thank you SO much for your wonderful letter (on your cute stationery of Christmas washi). I loved hearing about you adventures as a child in Holland. Have you gone back as an adult? I will hoard the windmill/delft washi all for myself! Thank you so much for a lovely surprise in my mail. Merry Christmas!
Response: Oh...I'm so glad you got it....not been back yet but want to take my daughter there one day to see Holland again...I'm glad you liked the stuff....I have plenty of that blue wash tape set so if you want some more...let me know and I'd be happy to get it to ya'....thanks for the heart and I hope you enjoy that new grand-baby immensely in the new year....cheers!
Comment: Hello Mary Alice! First, I love your handwriting! Also the card is so dang cute! Merry Christmas!!

Comment: Thank you for the cute card. Looks like our back yard. We feed the birds and squirrels and there's always a bunch out there. My kitties watch them from the windows. Keeps them busy. Thanks again.
Response: you're welcome...I have a couple of shelled peanut feeders in my backyard which the squirrels can't get enough of but birds get to have some as well...I have several feeders and want so many more....I love watching the birds come and go...hope you have a happy new year!!!
Comment: Many thanks for the card and your memory story. These days, I just stay home since my family up and left years ago. I do have lots of friends, but they have lots of kids and grandkids and it's just too busy for me. I don't mind anymore, really. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Response: you're welcome....I'm becoming more of a home-body now, too but I'm the one who lives 30 mins away from family...I try to get into the city often to see the nephews but as they grow up, I'm not as entertaining as video games :p ...hope you have a Happy new year!!!

Comment: Mary thank you so much for the special owl, I love how you decorated it!!! Did you use a die cutting machine to make it?
Response: no die cut mach....this is easypeasy....I used a 2.5 circle punch for body (2).....an 1in punch for eyes bkgd and making the ears....a Christmas tree punch for nose...a "splat" punch for feet...all punches...you could just cut it all out with scissors too...cheers!
