Comment: Wow, thanks for sending two zines full of July Wacky holidays! Love the images of the poor mailman, the UFO and your two cowboys. I was most amused by the Shark stepping on a lego and the chocolate being a vegetable, thanks so much for sharing both of your wonderful fun zines.
Comment: I love the photos and the extras! Thank you!
Response: So glad that you like them! Thanks for the heart! And I love your swap-bot ID name!! So 'poetic', Lol! Is it an accurate description of your personality? If so, you might be part of my 'tribe'!!!
Comment: Kathy - thank you for your beautiful card you made. You did a wonderful job and I love how the envelope matches. Thank you so much! (Love that song, too!)
Response: I'm so glad that you like the card! It was such fun to make it, and I couldn't resist making the envelope in the same theme. And yes, that tune was running through my head the entire time I was making the card, and for days afterward as well!!! Lolol! Thank you for the heart and happy swapping to you!
Comment: Ohmigosh! The photos were beautiful, and I love looking at the water and pictures of the beach (I don't love sitting out baking on the beach, haha). I also adored the coffee humor-it resonated with me so much! Haha. Also the washi tape!!! Where can I get that? -She writes, while drinking her morning cup of coffee. Haha. My view today is of the race horses out for their morning graze and baths.
Response: I'm totally with you on baking in the sun, so I have a big beach umbrella that goes with me. Isn't that coffee bean washi tape great? If I find it again, I'll get extra and share! How great to be able to drink coffee and watch horses first thing in the morning! Sounds like paradise! Thanks for the comments and for the heart!! Happy swapping!
Comment: Flipbook was amazing. Really cool. However was not postmarked until July 10. Was suppose to be mailed by June 21st. Must rate this a 3 to be fair. Did contact me in the first week of July stating it was lost under the seat of your car. I’m so sorry for having to rate you low but I must be fair.
Response: I think you misunderstood my email the first week of July. I had given the envelope to a friend to mail for me, along with several others, as I don't get out often anymore due to my health. In good faith I believed it had been mailed. My friend also believed she had mailed it along with all the others. It was only later that it was discovered to have slipped between the seats. It was an accidental oversight which was corrected as soon as we discovered it. I appreciate you nice comments about the flipbook; I spent many hours on it and was pleased with how it turned out. I'm so glad that you appreciated it!
Comment: Thank you for the great zines! I would love to have a backyard garden one day. Also you're so brave to ride in a hot air balloon. I'm sure the view was spectacular 💜
Response: Thank you for your comments and yes, the view WAS spectacular! The ride itself was so easy and fun; the hardest part was getting INTO the basket before we went up; once the balloon is filled, you have to move quickly and being a bit, shall we say, chunky, it was tricky enough to get in without having a time limit. Next time I'm taking a step-stool! Lol! Thanks for the heart!!! Happy swapping to you!!!
Comment: Thanks for the lovely photos! I love the chubby little squirrels 😁 I also put bird seed out year round and I love watching the birds on the feeder. Great photos! Xx
Response: Thank you for your comments and the heart! I think people who only put seed out in the wintertime miss out on half of the fun! I love watching the adults bring their babies to the feeders! Best wishes to you and happy bird-watching!
Comment: ok...have to say...you have stepped it up a notch...omgh!...both of the zines were sooo fun to read!!...great quote with cat!...I'm assuming thats you in the hot air balloon...very cool...love all the funny pics...those are some hairy legs...awesome zines....cheers!!
Response: Yes, that was me; my friend and I always do the hot air balloon trips together. She's the one that introduced me to it. Thank you for the lovely comments and for the heart!!! Best wishes to you. PS - those were also my hairy legs!!! (at least mine LOOKED similar!!! LOL!)
Comment: OMG the wacky zine was SUPER wacky and I love the quotes and the funnies and everything! Also love the garden zine, thanks so much!
Response: So glad you liked it. That actually was a selfie of me on National Selfie Day. I don't share those with everyone, so consider yourself special! Thanks for the comments and for the heart! Happy swapping!!!
Comment: I'm so sorry I didn't rate this! Gah! Anyway, of course it was fabulous, though it's not in front of me now. But yours are always fabulous, so there ya go!
Response: Jen, you are hilarious! Thank you for the rating; if you've lost your copy, I'll be happy to send another in our next swap. Just let me know. In fact, let me know which ones you have of mine and I'll send you a couple of others that you don't have as well. Thanks for the heart! Stay Wacky!!!
Comment: I loved both zines you made. They were excellent. In the Wacky June Zine, I like how you incorporated humor, and a bit of yourself in the photos. Your garden zine is adorable. I loved how you used it to document garden ideas past, present, and future, and made the zine a mini journal planner for your garden (or backyard! Haha, that made me laugh!).
Response: I don't often put photos of myself in my projects, but it seemed to fit here. LOL! Thanks for the nice comments and for the heart! I'm really glad that you liked the zines! Maybe we'll get to swap again in the future. Best wishes!
Comment: It's lovely. So many pretty things. Thank you.
Response: I'm glad that you like it! It's one of my first attempts at altered CDs, and I like that there are so many possibilities with them. Your profile said that you like bright rainbow colors and also butterflies, so I went with that as the theme. Thank you for the comment and the heart! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful hand draw mailart! Love the letter and funny zine as well!
Response: I'm so glad you liked the drawing! I like putting silly sketches on the envelopes; I envision that it might give the postman a smile to see something a bit different for a change. Thanks for the comments and the heart! Best wishes to you!
Comment: What a nice zine! Thank you for the fun/retro book pages.
Response: Glad you liked it and the extras! I have so much stuff that I always try to send some out with swaps. I send even more out after I watch an episode of Hoarders. Lolol!!! Thanks for the comments and the heart!
Comment: Fun Wacky May zine - and it looks like we have the same favorite episode for Twilight Zone! Thanks - it was fun to read, and hugs to Shadow and Smoky from Watson and Emma (dachshunds).
Response: I'm glad you liked the minizine! I didn't know if anyone else would recognize that particular episode of Twilight Zone, but I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I would do if I were in his shoes...LOL! Thanks for the comments!
Comment: This was so great! From the project pouch to the stamps, which I can never get enough of , to the handmade envies, music & book pages and sooo much more! Thanks a million.
Response: I'm so glad you were pleased with it! I'll keep it in mind that you like to get stamps, so that if we get partnered again in the future, I'll be able to send more! Thanks so much for the nice comments and the heart!
Comment: Sorry bout late rating, I do awful with non-mailbox rates! No excuse! Without diminishing how much I LOVE all the others, this is my favorite. So creative. So loving. I think if I did this for my mom, it would be her breads! Thanks so much!
Response: Jenn, so glad you liked the zine. I was thinking that I might do some zines for different family members, talking about fond memories with each of them. It would be a nice addition to the Family History Album that I'm working on, and maybe preserve some memories that might otherwise be lost. Thanks for the heart!!
Comment: Your Mama's garden was lovely. Lilacs and climbing roses are favorites of mine, too.
Response: Thank you for the nice comments; Daddy loved the roses too. We used to think he brought home wildflowers from work for Mama; but after she died, he still would gather wildflowers to keep in his house. Perhaps it was to honor her memory. Flowers speak on many levels, don't they? Thank you also for the heart!
Comment: I was waiting for your swap and I love it so much! Your little booklet/leaflet is so nice and all those flowers so beautiful, I didn't know dwarf iris! It was a pleasure to read your little text behind, I read it twice! Thanks a lot!!
Response: I'm so glad that you liked it! I haven't seen any dwarf iris in the garden centers around my area. We found them while traveling and brought some home as an accent plant for our bonsai trees. They multiply quite readily, just like the larger ones, and the blooms are so sweet! I plan on putting some into my Fairy Garden this year, along with some dwarf hosta plants. I think it will be a nice touch, since they return year after year... Thank you for your comments and happy swapping!
Comment: I am so in love with this under the sea CD! You did an amazing job. Thank you.
Response: Oh, I had the best time creating that, and two of my friends locally who love the sea BOTH wanted to claim it! Too bad for them! LOL! But now I have a nice gift idea for each of them later! Thanks for the heart! Happy swapping to you!
Comment: Thanks for the April Zine! Nicely done! Loved all the cool stamps you used on your envelope. Thank you!!
Response: I'm glad you like the zine; I'm having a good time creating them. The stamps were from a package I purchased online; I have to really plan the layout of them to get enough of them to fit on a letter envelope. It's hard to believe that at one time, you only needed one of those low-value stamps to send a letter, while now you have to cover the envelope with them, but I agree with you that it makes for a fun envelope to find in your mailbox! Happy swapping to you!
Comment: Thank you for the nice zine! I loved the postage stamps you used on the envelope... so fun! I appreciate the address labels too! Your swap brightened my day!!
Response: I'm glad you like the zine; I'm having a good time creating them. Comment: Hi Kathy! Your 'zine is so much fun! I smiled as I read each page as it really did bring to mind all the spring rituals--especially the mosquitoes--ugh! I loved the images you chose, especially the kitty and the bird on the back cover. Love the hand-drawn kitty and mouse on the envie and al the lovely extras you included. The 'A Poem from the Cat' made me laugh--so true! I'm also in love with those little pictures you included featuring kitties and elephants--so thoughtful. Thanks for a wonderful swap;+)
Response: I'm so glad that you liked it! I check profiles and try to include a little something that my partners will like; cats are easy because I love them too! The poem makes me laugh every time I read it; I don't think it will ever get old to me...LOL! Best wishes to you!!
Comment: Thank you - my favorite part of spring in making new plans for the flower beds.
Response: I used to go through the seed catalogs and create the biggest gardens in my head... I wanted to grow everything! I've learned to limit myself to what I can realistically take care of, but it's so hard to not have every flower that I want growing in my yard... Lol! Thank you for the heart, and best wishes to you with your flower beds!
Comment: most excellent zine!....I loved reading it....love the penguin story the best but every page is really good and unique....all around great mini-maga-ZINE...glad I got one!....thanks for the labels, too....cheers!
Response: That penguin story still cracks me up! I'm so glad you enjoyed the zine; it was such fun to put together and I'm looking forward to the next one. Anytime you want to swap a zine, let me know and we'll do a private swap! Best wishes to you!
Comment: Loved it. You are so right about bully bird Grackles. But they do make a lovely centrepiece to your collage. I like the idea of a lawn of Spring Beauties. How cool that you have guinea pigs! They are such sweet pets.
Response: Thank you for your nice comments! The guinea pigs are such characters! I never realized how distinct their personalities would be, but I am loving the way they interact... Happy swapping to you!
Comment: very cute zine. I enjoyed reading all thru the pages and it gave me little chuckles as I did. even with all the issues of spring I am still looking forward to the change from winter:) This was fun. My first time and I am hooked I think!
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it! I love doing zines and am looking forward to the next one! Happy swapping to you!
Comment: I DID find the email in my spam - thanks! Glad you have such nice neighbors!
Response: I'm glad you found the email. I wish Anna and Josh were my neighbors, but they live across town from me; when they shoveled snow, they drove all over town shoveling for the people they knew who wouldn't be able to do it themselves. I was just one of the lucky recipients. I hope you have some people like this in your life too! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you so much for the amazing journal!!! It looks like so much fun to go through and I love the peacock cover :)
Response: I hope you enjoyed going through it; I tried to pack it with lots of different things and kept finding more stash packets that I hadn't gone through, so there isn't much rhyme or reason to it. It's very Random... Lol! Thank you for the heart!
Comment: Oh wow!!! Yessss, I freakin LOVE this bookmark you made me. Why haven't I thought of that????? I also enjoyed the letter and envelope. I got a real kick out of the tombstone. LOL Thank you so much for the thoughtful swap. I hope I can get around to answering your lovely letter, but I can't promise anything. Thanks again, Kathy. You're awesome!!! Oh, and I love the fact that you grow Bonsais. So cool!!!
Response: I'm so glad that you appreciated the bookmark! I checked your profile and wanted to send something 'different' that you probably didn't already have. And don't feel that you have to write a letter, but I'd love to do more swaps with you if you have the time...
Comment: Thank you for relating the story about Anna and Josh. We have Amy and Tom who take care of us! They watch our house if we are gone, take in our mail, make sure our house is warm and even leave us cheese and wine so we have something to eat when we get home. They are the best neighbors! Thanks for reminding me of our good neighbors! I'm glad you have Anna and Josh to help you out!
Response: Wow - cheese and wine!!! That is very nice! I'm glad you have such a special couple in your life, and I'm glad that you shared this with me. Thanks so much for the comments and for the heart!!! It's nice knowing that there are other "Anna and Josh" types out there.
Comment: Wow, thank you so much for the beautifully-coordinated swap, gorgeous through and through, loved your note and the poem and the stories on the backs of your photos and the fantastic themed card you made me!!! Wow!!!
Response: Aww, I'm so glad you liked it! I've liked that picture of the pussy willows for a while now and just wasn't quite sure how to use it. When I found the poem, I knew I had to include that with it. I'm glad you like the photos; thank you for your nice comments and for the heart!! Happy swapping!
Comment: I want to give more hearts! What an amazing, above, beyond and delightful package! I don't have words...!!!
Response: I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! I had such fun putting it together. The ideas of what to include just kept coming - who would have thought that your one word "blue" would create such a spark! I'm looking forward to the next "send me something" swap to see if it was a fluke or if I can get a repeat of the inspiration that this one brought! Thanks so much for your nice comments and for the heart!!
Comment: Love how bright and beautiful your zine is! I can't wait to print it out! Thanks!
Response: Thank you for the nice compliment! I wonder if it was using photo paper to print it out on made it better quality than my previous ones. I've been trying to figure out how to make them more clear and sharp. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: I have big plans for my garden this year; I love what you're doing, too.
Response: The sunny days we've had lately keep pulling me from indoor duties to the garden to play; maybe we can do another zine later in the summer about how things are progressing! Thanks for the heart!!
Comment: I loved reading about your garden and aspirations! Your heart for the birds and butterflies is so precious. I grew up in Phoenix, so we never saw many birds or butterflies - but now we live in Missouri and my mom and I both love seeing all the birds that come to her bird feeder! ♥
Response: Thank you so much for the nice compliments! I'm glad you enjoyed the zine; I love making those little booklets! I already have the sequel forming in my mind. I'm not sure where you live in Missouri, but near St. Louis, there is a Butterfly House that was absolutely fascinating. If you are wearing any perfume, the butterflies will land right on you to check it out! Do you and your mom 'name' the birds that come to visit? We do... Lol!!! Thanks again for your comments and for the heart! Happy crafting!
Comment: Nice one Pelikat. It has a mini magazine feel to it. Your garden sounds like an oasis. I loved reading about your plans for this year. Regarding your outdoor fan idea, last year I tried a fan while out on my deck to keep the mosquitos away and it worked, so I recommend it to keep you cool and itch-free. Thanks for being part of the March zine swap.
Response: I'm glad to hear that the fan is a worthwhile idea! Thanks for the compliments; I was rather pleased with how it turned out. I plan on doing another one about just the Whimsey Garden - my granddaughter and I like to share in each other's fairy garden and make projects together...Thanks so much for the heart! Happy swapping!
Comment: My garden always beckons me. Thank you for a lovely zine.
Response: I used to think that it was kind of hokey when people would say how relaxing they found working in the garden to be, until I started growing bonsai trees. When I discovered that I was in a world of my own while working on them, I realized it to be a true statement. Now I've expanded my plant horizons and love the entire garden. Thanks for your comments and for the heart!
Comment: Great ideas/suggestions. I loved reading about the naked mail swap in which you participated.
Response: There were a lot of good suggestions put out on this swap. I look forward to taking part in many of them! Naked mail is always a lot of fun; I tend to go through thrift stores now thinking "I could actually mail THAT naked..." LOL!
Happy swapping to you and thanks so much for the heart!
Response: So glad you liked it! This was such a fun swap to put together; I hope there's another one like it in the future. I plan to create a mixed media piece with what I received and see how many of the items I can work into it. Thanks for the heart! Happy swapping!
Comment: How odd. this doesn't give me the option to give you a heart. I'd give you two, actually! What a fun magpie journal. I loved it.
Response: I love doing magpie journals! I'm glad you liked how it turned out. Curious about the heart issue, but, hey what can you do: modern technology - can't live with it and can't live without it... Somewhere there is a heart floating out in cyberspace, looking for me... :-)
Comment: Kathy, your goals sound good for reaching. I also want to start geocaching. Your day trip plans sound doable if everything falls into place. Now I wanna do a day trip...oh dear, I best stick to my goals. So far I’m down 4 of the 7 pounds. My goal is 35lbs gone buh-bye at the end of this year. Have just started the artists way workshop. I did it 20-25 years ago and had all kinds of positive things happen. I think my next step is to ,Zoe a vision board. What about you? If I can see it constantly, perhaps it helps to manifest? Thank you also for feeding my stash. Love the 🌈 colors. Thanks again for swapping with me. Let’s keep each other accountable towards our goals this year😀
Response: I've been thinking about a vision board. I think that would be a great idea! I have a long poster frame that I will use. Do you have a format in mind for your vision board? I've not done one before, but I've been looking at them on Pinterest.
What is that artists way workshop? Is that something offered in your area or is it available online? Congrats on the 4 pounds! One step at a time, right? Thanks for the heart, and I'll get to work on my vision board. Stay crafty!!
Comment: thanks so much for the lovely photos.
i really like the one with sophie in the santa hat.
and how gay it was!!! : )
Response: I'm glad you liked the photos. Sophie is always a character in her outfits, but Maggie Mae was the one who loved wearing them the most. I think I sent you a photo of her also; she's the dachshund. Have a great 2019 and happy swapping! And thanks so much for the nice comments and the heart!
Comment: Thanks for the awesome journal! I love the way you did it with each page having a letter of the alphabet as it’s theme! Now I wanna do another journal so I can use that theme! I love the extras and pull outs!! 😍
Response: Thanks for the heart! I'm so glad you liked it and that it was worth the wait for you. I needed a few more letters in the alphabet to make the 30 pages, but filling the last few pages with goodies worked out okay. I tried to include as many of your profile items as I could find in my stash, but also ended up printing out a few for linemen - the unsung heroes. Right? Thanks again!!!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful photo, I love the beach and ocean too! Also thank you for the Christmas goodies and for joining the swap!
Response: It was a labor of love; such a fun swap! The letter that I left out went out in today's mail, along with a few vintage ephemera papers for you to play with. If you are interested in writing back, and have the time, I'd love to exchange letters with you. Either way, I hope we get to swap again in the future... Thanks for the heart and happy swapping!!!
Response: I'm glad you liked it! I think I might have to go to Kinko's to get future zines printed, because the print quality on my inkjet isn't as good as I would like. The original always looks so much better and sharper! Thanks so much for the heart! Happy swapping!
Comment: Loved your beautifully handmade BLUE PC... Loved your note on the back... and I loved reading your profile although I ran out of time and couldn't read it all! We do seem to have a lot in common, I hope we get to swap again sometime. Happy Holidays!
Response: I'm glad you liked the blue PC. It was created from the cover of a computer catalog; when I saw all that blue in such lovely shades and with a bow (!), I knew I had to work it into something. And then the blue postcard swap popped up. Lol! Merry Christmas to you!
Comment: This was amazing. I'm so worried mine will look like Amateur Hour!
Response: I'm so glad you like it! I actually thought that it was a bit bland compared to the original, which had glittery parts that didn't transfer as well to the copies. I resisted the urge to 'touch them up' by adding more glitter. LOL! I'm not one of the partners you send to, but I'd love to see your zine; I bet it's not nearly as 'amateur' as you think it is! Thanks for the heart, and happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you Kathy for the adorable snowman cookie jar. I love snow men and the size is perfect. I loved your letter and when I get a chance I will write back. A suggestion though, somewhere in or in the package or even in the letter, you should mention the swap. I wasn’t sure until I was going through my swaps. Thanks again & Merry Christmas!
Response: Sorry that I neglected to put the swap name in. I think I just got carried away with the excitement of getting it mailed off to you and spaced out! I look forward to hearing from you and will definitely respond to your letter! Thanks for the heart!!!
Comment: Hi Kathy! What a beautiful feather you created! You said it wasn't difficult,,, but I disagree.. what a lot of work! Thank you so much for taking the time to create this beautiful feather and quote for me. Happy Holidays to you too!
Response: I'm so glad that you liked the feather! It truly wasn't as difficult as I expected and I will probably make some more for a future project, maybe using the same technique, but a different type of string. Thank you so much for the nice comments and for the heart!!! Happy holidays to you as well!!
Comment: I sure had a Happy Mail day yesterday! Thank you so much for the bottle resend. I still can't believe what all you packed into this bottle. I love everything...especially the tiny pinecone and coins. The oil smells so good...hubby put some in the diffuser this morning. I love the way you decorated the outside of the bottle too. Guess I'll always wonder what happened to the first bottle you sent.
Response: Thanks for the nice comments and the heart! It was fun picking special byhings that I thought you would like. I hope the other bottle shows up for you eventually; let me know if it does so we can both celebrate!
Comment: Mggie Mae is just the most precious EVER! Thank you for sharing. So special! Her costume just cracks me up with the eyes on top. So adorable. YOu must of made that costume? I also love that little extra blue stamp you used by the postage.
Response: I'm so glad that you liked Maggie's photo! She was a special girl, and she LOVED to be dressed up. That photo is one of my favorites because she has her oh-so-serious Royal Highness expression that goes so well with the goofy outfit. (BTW, no, I didn't make the outfit; I don't remember where we got it, probably a rummage sale or some funky little shop.) Thanks for your comments and for the heart!!
Comment: ♥ Once again I am thrilled to get one of your creations. I had so much fun looking through. Thanks for the little surprises. Happy Thanksgiving.
Response: Magpie journals are my favorite swaps and I'm glad you enjoyed this one. I love tucking in little surprises along with the "treasures" Lol! Thanks for the nice comments and the heart! I appreciate it!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful hand-made card, your letter and the quotes. I was a socially conscious high school kid at the time but our conservative northern New England media did not... would not cover or even acknowledge anything like the Stonewall Rebellion.
Response: I'm glad you liked the card and the thoughts inside it. I think I led a pretty sheltered life, to a degree. Or maybe I was extra naive. Alternative lifestyles of any kind were not part of my world view, although later, I found out that the gay lifestyle was closer than I could have imagined. I'm a 'late-bloomer', but others in my family bloomed much sooner! Thanks for the comments and the heart!!!
Comment: Hi Kathy, What a cute ribbon card and I love the poem, what a great idea. Let’s dio the next alphabet in a poem too! Thanks for a fun swap😀
Response: So glad you liked it! What is the next alphabet letter that we're going to swap? That was a fun one and I'm definitely game for including a poem. It will probably not be much better than my last corny poem though.... Lol!!
Comment: Thank you very much! Love the autumn colors. I love seeing what everyone's take on a magpie journal is. Each one I have received has been different and delightful!
Response: Thank you for the comments and the heart! I think Magpie journals are my favorite swap and like you, I love to see what different people come up with for their swap. Each one is a unique creation!
Comment: 💖💖 thank you for the bird goodies .... my favorite bird is the humming bird🐦🐧🐥🕊
Response: I love hummingbirds, but the birds who stay with me all year are my favorites. We have a heated bird bath for when the temps drop and keep seed and suet out for them year round. Sometimes they thank us by bringing their babies to the 'cafe' for us to see as they teach them. Thanks for your comments and the heart!
Comment: Absolutely loved this little journal - Halloween is my favorite holiday! Thank you for all the extra goodies you put in it! I'd love to write you back, but have misplaced your snail mail address - can you inbox it to me? Thanks again!
Response: Thank you for the nice comments and for the heart! This was such fun to create and I'm glad you liked it!
Comment: Thank you so much for the cute postcard. I love your list :D I had no idea guinea pigs chatter.
Response: I'm glad you like it! The guinea pigs chatter, squeak, wheek (which is loud squeaking that means 'I want treats!') and hold quiet little conversations with each other during the day...They are such fun pets! Thanks for the comment and for the heart!!!
Comment: 😮😮😮 I looooovvvvveee this Pc! You did such a great job and it was a perfect subject - it really means a lot to me - tytyty!!! 💜💜💜💜
Response: I'm so glad you like it!!! I was pleased with the way it turned out. I still want to send you a copy of the original photo, I've been a bit swamped with some rearranging in the house and my craft supplies are in a bit of chaos right now. Hopefully this week I'll get things lined out and be able to send it. Thanks for the wonderful compliments and for the heart!!
Comment: What a fun post card! Thank you so much!!
Response: This one was great fun to create! The background with the skeleton was actually a napkin I received in a previous swap. I loved the look of it and was glad to be able to use it for this swap. Thanks for the nice words and the heart!
Comment: Thanks for the beautiful photos. The one of your pup made my husband and me laugh. We have a little Beagle mix that looks a lot like Maggie May.
Response: Maggie was quite a character! She used to hide under the chairs and tables outside, watching the sky for birds. I'm not sure if she wanted to catch them or if she was trying to figure out how to fly... LOL! Thanks for the comment and for the heart!!
Comment: This is BY FAR the most AMAZING swap I've ever received in my years of being on Swap-Bot. I can't even begin to cover how grateful and excited I am. Every single thing inside the beautifully crafted envied was 100% profile based and clearly a lot of time was spent carefully selecting every single piece. I wish I could give you unlimited hearts!!! I can't wait to start writing back to you and answering all your great questions. I give you SO MANY HUGS!!!
Response: This swap was so much fun do to and I love going through my stash and finding things that match the profile of my partners. Wish I had more coffee-oriented items to send, but I'll definitely be watching for them now. Let's do another swap soon!!!
Comment: Wow! These items are great. You put so much thought and effort into the items--altered them in some way like rubber stamping, etc., rather than just sending a plain page. I will really enjoy using these in my journaling adventures! Thank you for joining and for sending such a special bundle.
Response: I'm so glad that you like it! I really enjoy creating the magpie journals! Thanks for hosting! I will be watching for more of your swaps! Best wishes to you!!!
Comment: What fun to received your swap today...I will enjoy using in my mail art all the pretty napkins you sent. And you went over and beyond by sending a bunch of goodies too...thank you! You made this a fun swap indeed.
Response: Aww, thanks so much for the kind words and the heart!!! I really like using napkins in some of my projects. I'm glad you like the ones I sent and hope the extra goodies come in handy for you as well! Happy swapping!
Comment: Hi Kathy :-) . . . Thank you for your nice badge. I plan to attach it to the lid of my handmade stamps storage box. There are about 100 stamps in there and I try to organize them once in a while, but of course, in no time everything is a jumble again. Thanks also for the awesome and wonderful note card and envelope. That's a keeper for me!
Response: I'm fascinated that you've made so many stamps, and it inspired me to check on Pinterest for instructions; but the last time I used stamps, I ended up with ink all over my hands. I'm still intrigued, but not sure I'm up to the challenge of it all... Lol! Thanks for the heart! Happy stamping!!!
Comment: Oh. My. Goodness!!! This is so beautiful!!! I love everything about it, the colors, mermaid and it’s a real photo!!! 😱💞 thank you so much for your hard work on this. I appreciate it so much. The extras were a wonderful surprise to. (((Hugs)))
Response: I am so glad that you liked it! I really enjoyed working on it and was pleased with how it turned out. Thank you for your wonderful comments and for the heart!
Comment: I've never seen such a tiny journal, and I'm amazed that you did such a good job of filling it. Thanks for all the goodies, too.
Response: I'm glad you liked it! When I saw those little journals in the store, I thought they were so cute, but it was more of a challenge to find things that would fit on the pages than in the regular size journals! Thanks so much for the heart! Happy swapping to you!
Comment: Thank you for the nice handmade PC! I love that you read my profile and used a cat reference. I have squirrels here too but don’t let my cats out beyond the patio with me. I think the squirrels may carry diseases so I have tried to block them from my patio. Lizards are Hendrix’s choice for capture and bring inside- in the blink of an eye! Happy Swapping to you and Happy cat adventures!
Response: I'm glad you liked the cat. Hendrix sounds like quite a character, but I'd have to draw the line at bringing the lizards inside - that would feel too much like snakes to me!!! Best wishes!!
Comment: I totally understand the haiku about dog hair, we had Corgi's prior to our schnauzer:) Thank you for all the extra's too!
Response: LOL! I love Corgis! We have a neighbor with several and when she walks them in the evening, we always applaud the "Corgi Parade" as it passes our house! I'm glad you liked the swap! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: 8/30/2018-OH MY!!! What a beautiful envie full of purple goodies. Thank you ever so much. Happy swapping.
Response: I'm so glad that you like it! I hope you're able to use some of it in your projects. I have another crafty friend who loves purple, and I know how much she likes getting purple things. Thanks so much for the heart!!
Comment: Thank you for my goodies!! That ATC is beautiful!!
Response: Thank you for the heart! I'm glad you liked the ATC! Sometimes I'm in an ATC mood and sometimes I'm in a Postcard mood, and sometimes I switch to canvas projects. Thanks so much for the heart!
Comment: I truly enjoyed reading the awesome little flip book you put together. You are a very interesting person and I admire your creativity. I share your feelings about Mickey Mouse. Lol! Thank you for a wonderful swap.
Response: I'm so glad you liked it! It was such fun to work on. I was so happy to find someone else that felt the same way about that mouse!!! LOL!!! I hope we can swap again sometime!
Comment: Thank you so much for the doggie treats. giggles. I love the doggies on the envie too. Is that Sheba? Awwwwwwwwwwwww. I love the big black dog too on front! Thank you!
Response: Yes, Sheba was the dog on the beach, with the big smile. She loved the beach and could spend the entire afternoon chasing the waves back out to sea, turning and prancing proudly back to our chairs, only to discover that the waves were coming back! Then she'd turn around and chase them out to sea again. I'm glad that you enjoyed it all; it was a fun swap! Thanks!
Comment: Kathy: Received your swap today and it was one of the best I have ever gotten from Swapbot! I would give you a 10 and 2 ♥s if I could. Thanks for joining and for the fun item, drawing and kind words.
Hope we swap again. A few who showed interest are going to be sorry they didn't play.
Response: Lynn, thank you so much for the nice rating and the kind words! I really like swaps that are 'outside of the box' - which my next giant postcard WILL be! This was great fun and I'm so glad that I joined and met you through it!
Comment: Thank you so much Kathy! Wow you made such a beautiful travel magpie journal. Great to read it all and to look at it. We are also going to Florida for holiday ;-) I'm so happy with your magpie. Thanks so much sweetie. It was worth waiting for. Love from the Netherlands, Marian
Comment: Three beautiful photos! Are you a professional!?! What a gorgeous tree .., how lucky you are to see that every day..that truck and sign are just hilarious and well chosen and it still works!! The colors together on the pepper were perfect...I thank you for sharing these I hope we can partner again.. thanks so very much!
Response: LOL! No, not a professional by a long shot! I just like capturing memories. I really liked the challenge of pictures of such diverse things. The truck picture still makes me laugh and it's been years since we've been there. The funny thing was that it STILL ran well enough for them to use it, although not on the public streets... Photos keep the memories alive. Thank you for the compliments and for the heart! I hope we can partner together again also!
Comment: So fun! I love your idea of putting little extra goodies on the remaining pages. Your dear little cat - so sorry she's not with you anymore. Thank you, Kathy!
Response: I'm glad you liked it! Shadow was a hilarious cat; I used to see her hide and wait for our Pomeranian to walk past and then jump out and attack him. It was all in fun for her, but I'm sure he felt bullied and embarrassed. One time I watched her stalk a squirrel from the flower bed, creeping towards it step by step until she finally gathered herself and pounced, actually flying over the squirrel, smacking it on the back with her paw, and landing on the other side of it. The squirrel zipped up the tree and really fussed at her for it! I wished I had a camera in hand to document the whole thing!
Thanks for the heart!!!
Comment: Super cute beach envie! Nice mixture of drawing and appropriate stickers. How did you get the fabric fishy ribbon to stick so well???
Response: Double-sticky tape from the bargain bin at Joann's Crafts... You just have to make sure you get it right the first time, because once it's stuck, it's not coming back up again! LOL! Thanks for the rating and the heart!!! I really enjoyed doing this project and I'm glad you like it!
Comment: Thanks so much for the swap.I loved everything. I can most definitely use the stickers and tattoos for my Cards of Hope program. Thank you again.
Response: How many tattoos can you use? I still have a lot of them... I'm glad you are able to use some of what I sent for your project; it's an admirable program and I'm happy to have a small part in it.
Comment: FABULOUS!!.... the entire swap, the presentation, the thought, the artwork was very clever. AND that chocolate is actually one of my FAVORITES.... yikes almost scary right?! All kidding aside - wonderful swap, thank you
Comment: Hi Kathy O wow you have me wondering what great book this is. Thanks for the nice pc too
Response: The book is called Uhura's Song and the author is Janet Kagan. It has some of the original Star Trek characters in it, but what I liked about it was the new characters with their unique personalities. After reading the book, I decided that I would like to have these new characters as personal friends. If you are a 'Trekkie', you'll probably love the book, but even in you aren't into Star Trek, you'll enjoy the story with it's unique twists and turns.
If you do decide to read it, please let me know what your thoughts are.
aka: Kathy Bates
Comment: What an awesome photo of a Pelican flying! Thank you!
Response: I'm so glad that you liked it! I sat on the beach sometimes and just tried over and over to get a good shot of a pelican diving for fish; I still haven't gotten the picture I want of that, but I'll keep trying anytime I can get to the beach. Meanwhile, I was pretty pleased with the way this one turned out with the pier in it. Thanks again for the comment and the heart!!
Comment: 🦉🦉🦉 I’m awake! .... What an exciting book! 🦉🦉🦉
Response: It's full of humor and twists and characters that become friends. I have to admit here that I am a closet Trekkie and the book is called Uhura's Song by author Janet Kagan. I've read it several times and one of my sons gave me a copy of it with Nichelle Nichols' autograph! If you should decide to read it, please let me know afterwards what you thought of it. Thanks for the heart!!!
Comment: What a great journal so full of so much information i feel I know you. I love your pictures of your creative pieces and the way you made the book.Well done for a great book. Happy crafting elflady
Response: So glad you liked it!! It was great fun to make and I think I'll try another one with some slight adjustments. I think my granddaughter might enjoy this project too!
Comment: The post card was very lovely! Unfortunately, you never communicated that it would be late. I'm sorry to rate you so low.
Edit: Thank you for reaching out to discuss the matter. It is much appreciated. Again, the postcard was gorgeous!
Response: Nicole, I'm very sorry that your post card arrived late! Did you just receive it on 3/12? I don't have the exact date written down that I mailed it; can you tell by the postmark when it was cancelled? Our mail sometimes does not arrive until very late in the afternoon, and there have been times when it was long after post office hours that we finally had ours delivered to our house. If they pick it up that late, I don't think it gets cancelled for that day, since the post office is already closed. If I have a package that needs to be weighed to get accurate postage, I sometimes have to rely on a friend to get it to the post office for me, as my health issues prevent me from getting out. I am amazed that it took this long to get to you. I once had a swap go to Oregon by way of Hawaii, and it took forever; fortunately I had tracking on that package, so I was able to tell where it was. But for postcards, I don't generally get tracking numbers. Again, I am sorry that you received it late.
Comment: Hi Kathy. I finally figured out what your card was for. You didn't put any information about what swap it was. I was going through my sent files to see who I didn't receive from and I recognized your name. I thought the card was a RAK. Net time, be sure to put the swap somewhere on it. Thanks.
Comment: Thank you for the very pretty hot air balloon card. I really like the quote. I will definitely go up in a hot air balloon when I get the chance. I'm going to color the hot air balloons you sent.
Comment: I loved your ATC it was very beautiful and well-made I also loved all the extras you included I've been wanting some printed pictures that were older and I don't have a computer so I couldn't print them and you made my day by sending them thank you so much you are an amazing person
Response: I'm glad you liked what I sent. I checked you profile and thought that those images might be appreciated; have fun using them in your creations!
Comment: What pretty flowers! I have a lot of irises but only large bearded ones. Thank you for telling me about the flowers and for the extras. Our spring has been about the same as yours I guess. Yesterday the afternoon temp was 72 then we had a storm and by bedtime it was 42. There is snow forecast again for Friday night.
Comment: Thank you for the artswap rocks. I have to say the package was open when I took it out of my mailbox. So... inside was one rock with a note attached (in a bag). I’ll let you know when/where I place it outside. Also a cute “Catitude” rock. Is that for me? I see no note inside. Glad your name was on the return address. Happy Swapping
Response: Yes, the CATitude rock was an extra that I sent for you. Your profile indicated that you like cats, so that one is for you. I'm glad the rocks both made it to you. I thought I had that package wrapped and taped pretty securely. Thanks for letting me know about it.
Comment: Sooo many smiles!!! The dragon quote is awesome, that is one to add to my fist of favorites for sure. Thank you for a wonderful, thoughtful swap. The quotes, the brads & lace. All the die cuts, thank you thank you! I just love the little cats. And, of course, the ever elusive glue stick. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this a special swap. All the best to you.
Response: Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you liked the things I sent. I love that dragon quote and was glad to have a chance to use it. I love putting together packets of goodies for others; it's like a challenge to find things on their profile that I can provide.
Comment: Kathy, you spoiled me!! Thank you so much for the interesting amazing images and all the goodies! I especially love the dollie vintage Valentine. Thank, thank you, wish I could give you more hearts, a wonderful swap!! Can't wait to play and use these in my projects. Happy creating and happy March. :)
Comment: A package of amazing butterflies flew into my mailbox today, thank you! I loved everything you sent me....the diecuts, the pretty paper, and I already have the magnet on my paper storage unit next to me :) Thank you for the fun envelope!
Comment: Thank you for the pretty 'postcard'! We just recently had a major snowstorm a few days ago and got 16 inches of snow, so it's not spring weather here yet! I haven't seen any pretty spring flowers growing here, but it's still pretty cold for them.
Comment: Wow! Thank you so much for such an amazing assortment of goodies in this jar. The top was beautiful and the shells especially were true treasures since we definitely don't have shells like that on our beaches here. Thank you so much for doing this swap and being part of this group. xoxo
Response: I loved putting that jar together for you! I'm so glad that you liked it. I'm looking forward to the next swap already!!
Thanks for creating the Whimsy Jar Swap!
Comment: Sorry for the late rate. Tucked your envie into my file and well, it got covered up with ‘stuff’! Brilliant ideas (did you find them online or make them up yourself?) triple hearts if it was the latter! Hope you will join again!
Response: i have a friend who comes and crafts with me who happens to be an Urgent Care nurse. We were talking about the swap and I asked what would HER job be like in a zombie apocalypse. The project took off from there. We actually used the floor plan from her workplace. It was great fun! Thanks so much for your comments and rating!
Comment: Holy cow, Miss Kathy, you went above and beyond. Thank you so much! What an amazing package!!
Response: So glad that you liked it! I was probably a bit conservative with the 'inappropriateness' but I'll loosen up after a while. There were tons of things that I thought about sending, but then I'd think "you can't send THAT!!!!"... Lol!!!
Comment: Cute! The envie made me smile.
I really like the Asian themed tissue paper.
The flamingo page of the dictionary made me chuckle.
(Btw, I lived in Eville for about yrs when Bristol Myers discovery was there.)
Response: I'm so glad that you liked it! I have the stamps that I used on that tissue paper. Let me know if you'd like more of it. Where in Evansville did you live, and when? Happy Swapping to you!
Comment: Wow! Kathy, thank you SO much for alllll the papery goodness you sent! I love it!!!!! Such a wonderfully interesting, generous variety! And what a great envelope - a hand drawn chicken scene, fancy lettering and three special stamps! All of that will be going in my latest journal. You made my week!
Response: I'm glad you liked it! I had a lot of fun with this swap; I love ephemera and have a lot of it to share. Maybe we'll swap again another time!
Comment: I could not imagine what was in the giant green envie in my mailbox...what a surprise! Thank you for such a great selection of fun items. I’ll be even more excited when I get to start using these wonderful things! Thanks so much for filling my mailbox with such fun goodies! â¤ï¸
Response: I'm so glad you liked it! My sister gave me the green mailing envelopes, and the timing was perfect for this swap. Happy crafting to you!
Comment: Kathy thank you for my amazing magpie journal!:I haven’t gone through every page but wow! It’s so unique and just beautiful! You did a superb job and wish I could give you many many hearts. â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸
Comment: Wow! Thank you so much for such a wonderful enve of goodies. So much fun stuff. Thank you for the dragonflies, one can never have too many & the build a bear clip is phenomenal! Have a wonderful Christmas.
Comment: Your rating was so sweet and kind! I am so happy you loved everything and got to share that joy with others too!
I’m also super happy that I had you as a partner too. I love, love, love the wolf cards!!! They are sooo sweet and will be joining my ever growing collection of wolf PCs. Thank you so very much! I look forward to swapping with you again! <3
Comment: Greetings and thank you tons for the awesome envie filled with really neat stuff! Your swap was truly one to sit and experience as you opened the lovely decorated envie and reviewed each and every piece of goodness that you included. I think my most favorite piece was the strip of birds all sitting on the same line. It looks like it was cut from an ad, envie, or piece of stationary. no matter as it was just the cat's meow. So an exceptional thank you for all your kindness.
Comment: Hello Kathy! Thank you for the minizine about the beach. With me living in the Midwest, I don't get to go to the beach too often. The last time I went to a real beach (not a lakeshore, which us Midwesterners call "going to the beach") actually was 3 years ago... in Bugøynes, Norway while on an exchange semester. Sure enough, we put on our swimsuits and ran into the water, but we then immediately ran back into the sauna! The Arctic Ocean was barely above freezing temperature, but it was such a fun time! Seeing your zine makes me want to try out a warmer beach again though. I enjoyed reading it! Best wishes to you!
Comment: I can't tell you how happy your postcard made me! I love the vintage ad style! I have heard of radish roses! I used to be big into bento and as a result found allsorts of fun acceptable ways to play with my food =D Thanks again and I hope to bump into you again!
Comment: Thank you so much for the Christmas Card Letter! I love it and all the little goodies! I received 12/9/17 but I know it was mailed before by the postmark I'm sorry for it arriving late and causing the late rating! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful package. I received it on 12/4 but was getting ready to go out of town so did not get to write until tonight after getting settled in the motel. I love all of the goodies, especially the lovely papers , postcard and your book about you. Your pets are so cute.
I have a spoiled rotten "wiener " dog who rules our home. Thank you for the time and effort you put into making this swap special for me.
Comment: Being we are in the Advent times, I opened your box this morning and I am so happy to see a wax rooster and a snow man. Thank you so much. You did great! I also want to say thank you for making this personal with a very nice message from you on my card. Makes swapping so much better when I get to read something about the swapper....Thanks :-)
Response: I'm glad you liked it! I will definitely keep my eyes open for more rooster items now that I know someone who appreciates them! We had a rooster when I was little; his name was Chanticleer. He was beautiful with dark feathers on his body that were so colorful in the sun. I wanted to pet him on those pretty feathers, but he didn't want me to and he pecked my hand! I still love roosters and chickens, especially the ones with iridescent feathers!
Comment: Thank you Kathy for the package of envelopes ... neat idea on the little info folder also...
Response: I'm glad you liked it. The info about me was a 'minizine' that I created for another swap. It seemed like a perfect way to make my swaps a little more personal, with a real person on the sending end.
Comment: Kathy!! you really made my day, you went over and above. thanks for the awesome goodies, love everything! lots of pretty papers, very cool diecuts, birds, vintage ephemera. and I opened the actual stocking stuffer lol , the ladybug pin is precious. 💖ðŸžðŸ’–
Comment: Really love the PC! I wouldn’t be so hard on your penmanship. Trust me, I’m a teacher and I have seen worse...WAAAYYY WORSE!! I will do my best to remember to write you some caligraphy next time we swap :) I look forward to crossing paths with you again!
Comment: Thanks for the nice card of pumpkins. I don't mind cards that are already written on, which I guess would have to be in an envelope if they've already been addressed and whatnot. I think it is interesting to read what people wrote on them.
Response: Brian, I will make a note about the written postcards; I have several vintage ones. Like you, I enjoy reading the messages that are on them from people long ago. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you for the scooter card! I want one so bad but I also travel 30 miles to work. Might be a stretch.. lol...sure we can trade.... atc's are a bit new to me and I love the idea of pocket letters but also have not done many.... let me know and I will rise to the occasion
Comment: Thank you so much for my beautiful wolf postcards they are so great! I also loved your All About Me card inside - your animals are so cute and it was great to see your ATC too - I've never done anything like that before so it was great to see some examples! Thank you so much for being a great swap partner!
Comment: Thank you for this beautiful card!
As far as I know the closest you'll get to 'wolves' in SA is the jackal. There are definitely 'wolves' in Namibia (our neighbour), but they don't look like the American ones.
Comment: I love "ALL ABOUT ME" - it's wonderful and really does give me a tiny taste of who you are. Thanks so much....I'll use the fun embellishments you added in the altered book I'm currently working on!
Response: Thanks for the nice comments! I've not done an altered book yet, but it's on my list of things to try soon!
Comment: Thanks for the goodies. I especially like the old photos. :3
Response: You're welcome! I love old photos! Sometimes, though, when I see that they've been taken out of an album and sold one by one, like the ones I sent to you were, it makes me sad for the family that once treasured them. I think using them in art projects - whether beautiful, funny, or sentimental - is a nice way to honor the memory of the people pictured.
Comment: Thanks so much Kathy, you broke my empty mailbox streak! I like your zine and I like meeting celebrity name twins, I've met Carlos Santana, Wanda Jackson... and thanks for the extras. Those are some high quality stickers!
Response: I'm glad you liked it! Now we've got to do something about that empty mailbox, right? I hate it when I open the mailbox and there isn't even any junk mail in there! It makes me wonder if the mail person has skipped me on purpose, or if something happened to them and my happy mail is all scattered over the roadway somewhere... Wait a minute: that's how I reacted when my kids didn't get home by curfew time! Ack! I've adopted the mail carrier!!!! Lol!
Comment: Oh my goodness, Kathy! If I could give you more hearts I would! THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the lovely vintage Christmas pieces, and the lovely papers too! I'll certainly be using everything as
I wrap presents this year (my favorite part of the holiday!). You totally made my day - thank you so much!!!
Response: I'm glad you are pleased! I was happy to find a home for it where someone else could appreciate it!
Comment: Thank you for the card. I’m not sure if the card I got is for this swap or not you forgot to write the swap name on it.
Response: Millie52, my apologies! I noticed that I did seal a couple of them before I put the swap card in, and I tried to write the swap name on the envelope. I'm sorry for the confusion. Yes, it was for this swap. Thanks for letting me know about my oversight; I'll be more careful in the future. ;-)
Comment: Thank you for a wonderful swap! Great cards and I'm still swooning over the great vintage pics. I have never been in a hot air balloon, but it looks fun! In Muncie we used to have a hot air balloon festival. Made for a beautiful sky!
Comment: Thanks for the photos! So sorry to hear about the dog, but that is a sweet moment you captured. And I love your Calliandra flowers!
Response: Thanks for your comments! I'm glad you liked the photos. The dog had a wonderful life with a loving family for many many years, and although losing a fur-baby is so hard, moments like the one in the photo give nice memories to look back on when the wounded heart has healed a bit. I've been through that tragedy several times. Thanks again!
Comment: Thanks for the swap cards! Also, thank you for your letter. I will write you back soon and include a couple things I am making these days. Hopefully we can continue sending letters and little bits of crafty inspiration external to swap-bot. I will be in touch! Cheers
Response: I will look forward to hearing from you! I would like to keep in touch and exchange ideas and letters!
Comment: Thanks for the beautifully handmade PC. No smell from the card, but I had just made a cup before I got the mail so it works. ;) My roommate always says he knows when I'm home if the house smells like coffee.
Response: I love to walk into a house that smells of coffee! It makes me feel welcome before the host even greets me!
