Comment: What a beautiful PC and I love how you enhanced it as well! Yes it is wonderful that God the father set the star in the sky to lead people to Jesus as a babe. Merry Christmas and hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Comment: So cute. My great-grandson wants the card. I think I'll give it to him after Christmas to put into his art journal. Thanks so much. It's adorable. Have a wonderful holiday. I just opened the envie again to put the card away (my 3rd time) and found the playing card. I LOVE it. Gonna go looking for some. Thanks again.
Comment: Great swap, Christal! I loved the ladybug stamps you stamped on the card and envelope. Also, enjoyed the postcard and Christmas tag and your typed note about your Christmas tradition. That sounded like a fun game with your Bookcrossing club. :) Thank you!
Comment: I love this card! It is so beautiful! Oh , I just noticed that you did the Bethlehem star on the front! It looks great! Love all the stamps and stickers on the back too. You are also the very first person that I've ever seen with mailers postmark permit. Cool! Thank you!
Comment: Thgank you for the beautiful postcard. I've never been to Tecumseh that I know of, but I'm pretty sure there's a truck stop near Shawnee, and I know I've been there. I have a feeling in 100 years everyone is going to look at our architecture and go "Yuck, how plain."
Comment: I received your great cards today. Thank you so much for all of them. I love your note card with the two bluebirds, plus the postcards. Had a good laugh at the redneck one! Also like your cute ladybug stamps and the postage stamps. Thanks! :)
Comment: Thanks so much for the elephant PC. They are such wonderful creatures! There was a story on the net about a man, who had been working to save them, and when he died, 36 elephants showed up from miles away, stayed 3 days, without eating, and just as suddenly left. Such a wonderful, heart warming story! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry PS: I love the little ladybugs too!
Comment: Thank you, that was one cheerful envelope and contents! Even one of the postal workers couldn't control themselves and had been kind enough to open the envelope for me ;-). I'm glad I got to read you card and the lovely cheerful message on it.
Comment: Hi Christal,
Thank you for the postcard - and I love the hand-drawn ladybugs! I have never seen a Currier and Ives battle image - usually it's a holiday card so I thought the card was cool too! It really makes you think about what your ancestors were doing at the start of the Civil War.
Response: 3/13/12 - The ladybugs are rubber stamps. I only wish I could draw like that! I lived in the DC area for a few years and became interested in Civil War history. I purchased the postcard as part of a booklet set at one of the battlefields. I'm glad that you liked it!
Comment: I loved the old-timey postcard. Thanks for sharing!
Response: 3/13/12 - I live in a very small town and found the postcard at the Tecumseh Historical Society Museum. The Opera House is still standing but the street level part has been converted and houses other businesses now. To get a "modern" postcard I would have to go to the next town over. ;)
Comment: Today I received your free-adcard. The story you wrote made me smile: it's so recognizable. I think all adcards-collectors pick as many free cards as possible to trade them in some way. Thank you!
Comment: Super impressed with the swap!! :D I will reply by letter if that's okay? I would like to comment on some things XD It was hilarious! I will ask some questions, feel free to write back or just email me back the answers here :)
Who knows maybe we could be pen pals, take care!
Response: 3/12/12 - I had a lot of fun with this swap. Since I can't draw stick people convincingly I decorated the letter with stickers which I used as an ispiration for my wild story. I hope you don't ask me too many questions because like any web of lies the risk of it unraveling is imminent. I look forward to your letter and perhaps it will be the basis of a penpal relationship.
Comment: Whoa! So many great book recommendations and TWICE what I'd expected. Squee! Thanks so much for sharing them with me and taking such time to explain what you liked about the book as well. Thank you!
Response: When you come visit me you can snarf Barnard School, the only National Register site in Tecumseh, OK. :)
Comment: I am completely impressed with how much information you got on that postcard! All except Wilder are new to me. I live in Little House country. Have you read Caddie Woodlawn?
Response: 3/13/12 - I knew I would have to write small and neat to get all the info on the postcard. I hope you didn't need a magnifying glass to read it! I've never read Caddie Woodlawn and I have no idea why. I'm going to put it on my reading list.
Comment: Great photo! You could sell this PC!! :) thanks! :)
Response: 3/13/12 - Thanks for the vote of confidence. I am a "luck" photographer. I take tons of pictures and most turn out in the fair to good range and those are fine for home scrapbooks. Occasionally I get one photo that pleases me and then I use vistaprint.com to turn it into a postcard that I hope others enjoy. I love trading postcards!
Response: The original card was mailed on December 5, 2011. After inquiring I realized that the card was never received and I sent a replacement on January 18, 2012.
I am glad that we got everything resolved. Thank you for the rating and the heart!
Comment: Thanks for the CO card - I had to laugh about the "doesn't leave much room to write" comment, because I wrote the same thing on the OH cards I sent out!! Thanks though, I didn't have a CO card! Lisa
Comment: Thank you so much for the pretty tulip card, or tulpen as they are called in dutch. :) How do you like Vistaprint? I use winkflash because occasionally they have sales that are insanely cheap, but i think i might like the Vistaprint printing quality a bit better...
Response: I like Vistaprint because there is almost always a special deal and I never pay for things other than shipping cost. And there are so many items to choose from!
Comment: Thank you for the gorgeous Bobcat. When I married almost 49 years ago my in laws had a pet Bobcat. He was so pretty but also so big. I was scared of him. I have very few OK cards, I was glad to get another one to add to my collection.
Response: Yep, it was a quick turn around swap and evidently the PO has decided they are now only going to be open for two hours on Saturday! I was there at 11:20 thinking that they closed at noon. The post office was closed on Jan 2nd for the holiday so there were no postmarks for that day. I needed stamps before I could mail and thought that I would get them on Sat. But WOW! I mailed on the 3rd and you got it by the 5th ... that's some quick moving for after a holiday!
Response: Response to 3 rating: 1/4/12: My apologies ... I had other Christmas card swaps that were just send a nice greeting and I must have forgotten to talk of my Christmas plans. It would have been nice and polite if you would have messaged me before giving me a 3. I am happy to re-send to make up for the mistake. Would you like a re-send?
I am heartbroken over the 3 rating and I wish my other partners to know that I take swapping seriously and this was a simple mistake that could have been taken care of in just a minute if I would have just been told about it before the rating was given.
Edited: 1/5/12: Thank you so much for giving me a chance to make it right and the quick communication. I'm happy that we got something worked out that makes everyone happy!
Comment: I am extremely sorry about the late rating! I'm pregnant and got into a car accident not to long ago and i havent had access to a computer. I did receive your post card, it was one with two pandas on it, which was adorable. Thank you :)
Comment: Hi Christal & thanks so much for the postcard of Dorothy's House. I too remember when you had to wait for movies come on TV, before VCRs/DVDs. I got excited every year to see "The Sound of Music". Aren't the Smithsonians wonderful?? I really shouldn't take them for granted since they're free. I'm going to try to get my sons to the American History Museum before they go back to school. Happy New Year! ;)
Comment: Thank you for the sweet card. I love your little crrcookie stamp, where did you get it?
Response: I got it at Vistaprint.com - It cost a few dollars to upload the picture of my little mascot Chip but other than that it is mostly just shipping charges. I get LOTS of things from Vistaprint!
Comment: Thanks for the pc of the zoo! Just an FYI, the post office covered your name at the bottom, had to peel off some sticky thing the post office put on there. Others may not know how to find your name, not a complaint, just letting you know.
Response: On the cards I have made at Vistaprint if you look at the photo credit it has my screenname. (It is sideways on the dividing line of the postcard.) On other postcards I always write my screenname at the top.
Sometimes I get wordy and the post office insists on using those weird barcode things! Glad you figured it out!
Comment: thank you for the state postcard and the extra one of JGL.I will use it to teach my Brownies about GS history. I am a life time member too.Love scouting...both girls and boys.except I understand girls better..
Comment: Thank you for the card. I found the fireplace card no problem but I could not find the miniature or the vintage cards so I was unable to join them. I did find the rest of the cards so maybe we will be partners again. Happy Swapping and Happy Holidays.
Comment: Thank you for such a nice card!! my son loved getting it..he even said he wanted to color his own..So if you wouldn't mind..Could you tel lme where you found this at?
Response: I got them at Dollar General. When I went back to get more they were out though. Good Luck in finding some!
Update: 11/12/11 - I got the Thank You card from your son today. I love Snoopy and it was a very nice touch!
Comment: Thank you for the pretty postcard with the orange hibiscus. We had some hibiscus in our yard but they wilted unfortunately... it is difficult to grow them in cold winter here in Japan : ( I enjoyed reading your message as well : )
Comment: I received your pc today, thanks so much. I just love zoo cards too. I like to look at the different kinds of animals. I rated you a 5 and gave you a hear. I would love it if you could send me your address so that I may send you a pc.
Comment: Hi Christal, Thanks so much for the fantastic FONZ gorilla postcard. I'm a fan of the zoo, but I miss Tai-Shan, the giant panda who moved to China. I love how this PC gave a lot of info about gorillas, specifically those who live at the National Zoo. Take care ;)
Comment: Thanks for the gorgeous basket postcard. I can never afford to collect these Native American baskets so postcards fill the gaps in my collection. I learned a great deal about Native Americans since I've moved to Minnesota from the East Coast.
Comment: Thanks for the Amsterdam postcard! I've never been there, but it sounds like a really awesome place. I feel the same way about London that you do about Amsterdam. Also, I was born in OKC! Rock on!
Comment: Awesome PC! Thanks for the look into Bookcrossing. It's such an interesting idea. I wish I understood more, or had the courage to just leave my book somewhere. It would be nice to not know someone, but set up a meeting for a book to be picked up just to get the ball rolling. Anyways, Thanks again!
Comment: Thanks for the card. I read the first book in the Lemony Snicket series but did not like it. I've checked into book crossing and love the idea of leaving books places. Our town has a giant used book sale going on now. They have more than 250,000 books, cds etc. It' s a book persons dream.
Comment: :) your postcard was the cutest! I'm gonna tack it up in my craft room next to my book shelf ^_^ also thanks for the recommendation, I've actually wanted to read that series but never got around to it.
