Comment: Thank you for the interesting "Black Ball" card. I don't know much anything about baseball, as it's not popular here in Finland. We have had an exceptionally mild and super cloudy winter, with very little snow. I'm so looking forward to spring and LIGHT! :)
Comment: Thanks for the lovely PC and your list. My older daughter and I visited Hoover Dam a few years ago. Her internship at Phoenix Children's Hospital was done and I was helping to move her back east. We decided to take the scenic route. for the dam and the Rockies.
Comment: Wow, I had no idea there were places other than Denmark with danish place names! Last semester I studied language history, so that's really interesting - thank you for telling me that extra-special tidbit about yourself! ♡
Comment: hi Julie ~ i am deaf (& retired), too - yeah, miss music (among tons of other benefits), but cheers for captions (when they can be found & legible!) - good you could return to land you love & thanks for the hstorical Egyptian pc!
Comment: LOL!!! This is the funniest/ugliest postcard I've probably ever seen. Not so much that it's ugly, as it's prob one of those you shuffle to the back of your PC stash bc why and who could you ever send this to?? It's perfect for this swap and it made me laugh, I'm glad you chose this one to send!! Thank you!!!
Comment: Thanks for the great PC and your note.
I have limited my HO layout to the basement. I always wanted to build a G-scale garden railroad but, with the winters here, I would be half the summer just repairing the track.
Response: we are thinking of having the G scale run around the top of the garage - we are in MN so our winters are horrid.
Comment: Holiday Greetings Julie,
I cannot thank you for the unique beachy Christmas Card. I love it! I really loved the extras especially the fairy riding the snail stamped image. It's the small things in life that delight.
Response: you are very welcome - so glad I could bring a smile to your day.
Comment: I enjoyed your springy washi card. I keep hearing of folks getting snow & snow & snow. Hopefully soon you'll be getting less snow and more flowers & flowers & flowers! The tapes you sent are awesome! Thanks, too, for the cute stamped images for me to color. :)
Response: this past weekend were huge storms all around us, but we came out with just a couple inches - happy about that!
Comment: Julie, thank you for the National park service postcard. The first line in Kean Koontz book "The Eyes of Darkness" is very intriguing. I am tempted to buy the book. Did you finish reading it and was it good? Shirley
Response: I haven't finished it since I forgot to bring it to IA with me. Koontz is an excellent writer.
Comment: thank you for the awesome swap. Everything is so wonderfully "Spring" - it's another rainy cold day here in the Great PNW........ The recipe card is too cute and I think the coloring calendar page is very clever - perfect while I am waiting on my bus for the student's in the afternoon!!!!
Response: I love the calendar pages - they are the perfect size for a "break"
Comment: Thank you so much for the swap!Beside having the same birth name, we have similar tastes in washi tapes, I have some of the samples and some are similar :) Samples are just great for on-the-go letter kits , when travelling and so. I also loved reading your note.Thank you for a very nice swap.Have a great day!
Response: I like the idea of on the go letter kits - I will have to do that since we end up driving so much
Comment: Thanks for the skull card, Julie! I had to laugh because when my younger son was in grade school his teacher (who he had in grades 2-4) called Matt the "Bone Man" because he was just nuts about finding animal bones in RMNP where we go often. I guess he grew out of it, though, because now he's in the mortgage industry. thanks again!
Response: I have no idea where that card even came from but it was pretty cool!
Comment: Thank you for the fun postcard. We would love some of your snow! Some of the fire departments around here are already planning summer schedules because they anticipate more fires than normal due to how dry our winter has been.
Response: Oh that's no good - we shouldn't have much hazard this spring - I hope
Comment: Thank you for the cute card. I grew up in Minnesota, the very southeastern part of the state and our family did a lot of fishing too. We were near the Mississippi River. Dad went ice fishing but I never did.
Comment: Thanks for the PC! So where in St. Anthony Village did you shop? Where I live is the old Apache Plaza. Now it is a pretty neat strip mall. There is St. Anthony Main too. There is lots of shopping there. Happy swapping to you......
Response: St Anthony Main - can't say we really bought much from there, but we window shopped!
Comment: This is adorable! The paper tree is awesome, Santa with his furry accents and the happy reindeer are awesome! Thank you for the extras...love the soft washi color samples, the stickers and the cancelled stamps! Have a wonderful holiday!
Comment: What a fun mini PL! I love the fur you added to the beard and the glitter accents! So sorry you had me as a partner for two swaps in a row! 😒 Both mini PLs are wonderful! Got them both today. Merry Christmas! I’ll rate the other one in a few. Thanks for the fun extras.
Response: it's great that I had you for two - it made me be more creative!
Comment: Here in Canberra we go from 20 degrees Fahrenheit in winter with snow on the mountains to 115 at Christmas time. This year it is apparently going to sit at 115 the entire week between Christmas and new year. Making it too hot to go to the beach (the sand with burn you and you will get sunburns even with sun cream). This year we will go to Orange for Christmas, there is a lake there that the kids like to swim in and it is nestled in the Aussie bushlands so there will be shade, so long as we don't wilt in the heat we should have a pretty good Christmas :D
One day I hope to have an American Christmas with snow, but I feel like it would be so very different to the hot summer Christmas's we have here.
Merry Christmas and Happy New year, Nat
Comment: Thank you for the quirky card, which made me smile. The temperatures here are not ideal for mulled wine, hot chocolate or hot eggnog. It's more iced coffee and sangria weather, although they said this year Christmas won't be too hot. Have a Merry Christmas!
Response: we are definitely into the hot cocoa weather now - brrrrrrrrr
Comment: Thank you for all the thoughtful bits inside. Wouldn't say the envelope meets swap requirements, would have been a heart worthy swap with a little more happiness out the outside, maybe next time? Have a wonderful weekend! J.
Response: glad you liked the inside - will make sure I get the outside next time.
Comment: Thanks for the pocket letter and all the extras. You are right we do not have snow at this time of the year but there was some on the highlands over the weekend.
Response: we had a bit of snow yesterday but it came with 12 farenheit weather - brrrrr
Comment: Thank you Julie for the Warm Winter Wishes Christmas card you sent to me for the swap. You are so kind to send me flat surprise of the address labels. They are perfect for my use on the Christmas envelopes, I've more Christmas cards to write. Happy December!
Comment: Like the card! Not only do I live on Rudolph Rd. But up the road is Christmasville Rd. And my middle name is Noel, but spelled Noelle. It's odd with all that Christmas around me, you would think I would like the holiday some more.
Response: probably too much of it all year round! That's how i got with fireworks when I lived on the river bluffs - fireworks every weekend and I no longer enjoy them.
Comment: Julie ...Thanks so much for the lovely postcards you sent me. My favorite is the lavender fields with quote...so beautiful. Lavender is one of my favorite flowers. Update: December 6, 2017. Thank you Julie for sending me some extra postcards. The state map postcards are perfect! Great swap!
Response: you are welcome- I will get you some nice refreshers ones for the ones the PO decided to damage
Comment: Hi! I love, love, love your pc! My hubby even chuckled about it!! Are you tired of mailing to me yet? Maybe next time if you see my name so much, you could sent it all together and save some postage - I would be fine with that!! See you at the mailbox! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: so happy to make you both smile - maybe next time I will send to hubby instead - lol
Comment: Hi again! Love your Christmas pc! Do you mind if I ask where you found some? Thanksgiving was not so great, but hey, there is always next year! LOL! Hope yours was fun! Merry Christmas to you and yours! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: I got the Christmas postcards off Amazon. I think Zazzle has some cute ones as well.
Comment: Hi Julie! Looks like great minds think alike, so we are in tons of swaps together and SB keeps linking us up! LOL! I sent a few swaps to you today!! You might get tired of my writing as well! LOL! How wonderful that you made some fun time for yourself to work on pocket letters and ATCs! Thank you for the stamped image - love it! I am putting up all my crafting stuff until the new year - hopefully I will be able to find it then!! LOL! Thanks for the fun share about your weekend! See you at the mailbox! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: Thank you for the Christmas card can't wait to add it to our house decorations. Amazingly we have had beautiful weather, a bit of snow which is melted. Rain and some icy days, but even that's gone. I am loving it, but wondering if mother nature is teasing us and we are going to get slammed with snow and cold weather soon.
Response: I am thinking the same thing - we are traveling via vehicle over Christmas - that's when it will hit!
Comment: got the Time PC in today :) oh yeah it's a pretty good size town. Your friend's name doesn't sound familiar. It does get pretty cold, but this year seems to be pretty mild in the temperatures so far. it's only -20F out right now, but thats pretty warm, usually we are around -40 by now. Thank you for the postcard :)
Response: We are above normal temps and no snow. My mom lives in Sitka so she has the rain forest weather.
Comment: Swapper first sent me a plain white envelope with a $1 bill inside, which did not meet swap requirements. After it was brought to her attention, she resent an acceptable package. Thank you for resending, I will be able to use the items sent.
Response: Great to hear - I have to carry the notebook and pen around because I am deaf and sometimes people have to write what they are saying down.
Comment: Hi Julie! We're partners again ;+) Thank you very much for the lovely samples you sent my way. All but one are new to me so I can't wait to start using them on my envelopes. My granddaughter is here now from San Francisco and we might play with some together ;+)
Response: always fun to create with daughters and granddaughters - I have neither, but i borrow!
Comment: Thank you so much for all the items you sent! I've never thought of a state wide shop hop. In Texas we would have to take a month off and then couldn't get through them. Just in Houston we have to have 2 shop hops because we can't get them all in one. Have a great day!
Response: Texas is a lot bigger than MN - we covered about 65 of the shops in MN but that wasn't all of them that exist - they can't do all in two weeks.
Comment: Thanks for the wonderful postcard and funny bookmark! Unfortunately, this holiday in Russia is not traditional and almost nobody celebrates it. It celebrates the youth and children. I really love the themes and colors of this holiday, but this year we did not celebrate it at all, so your postcard made me happier :)
Comment: Thanks for a great card! I have always wanted to go to Brazil, because my father was there during WW2 and he always talked about enjoying even the short time he spent in Rio. Now I at least have a PC! Thanks again, and happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you Julie for the Ocean - "O" PC showing beautiful Kauai sunset you sent to me for the swap. Wow, you had snow flurries in Minnesota. I imagine from down here in Central FL. Happy November!
Comment: Thank you, Julie. The lemurs definitely made me smile, but the alligator did too :D. The astronaut on the moon brought back a vivid memory. I was living in a small village in India when that occurred & listened to coverage via Voice of America on a battery powered radio. My village did not have electricity & there was no TV in India at the time. The villagers thought I was making a big joke when I told them of the event. One asked me if "Amreeka" was near Bombay, and another asked if we had the same moon there. I wrote to NASA and got an autographed photo of the astronauts; gave it to the village headman who displayed it beside garish images of gods from the Hindu pantheon. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Response: what an experience for you! That is so great.
Comment: Thanks for nice cards and the fun chalkboard stickers - I've never tried those, so a very fun treat! Love your Groot swap card, too! I love running into him at work (Disneyland! Well, he hangs out over in California Adventure by Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, formerly Tower of Terror.)
Comment: Julie, thanks so much for the beautiful card with the kittens on the front. They look so peaceful snoozing in the little santa hats! Our cat passed away after 18 years of keeping our house mouse (and bird) free, and the mice have realized it and have tried to move in. We evicted them, or at least I think we've evicted them all. It sure made me miss Shadow the cat though - no mouse (or bird, or bunny) dared to cross her path! Thanks for the smile!
Response: our cat died this past summer and I have noticed that the mice have started coming back - ugh....
Comment: Thank you for the nice postcards! I love all the tea bags ! Thank you for checking my profile and send the tea I like ♥︎ I agree with you and I think swapbot is a good place to meet new pen pals :) I just become a penpal with another swapper who lives in my city Austin. Happy swapping!
Response: That's great that you met someone in your city. I have some that I have swapped with that are about an hour away so not bad. Glad you will enjoy the tea.
Comment: Thanks Julie! Loved the card - made me laugh! Snow! Yuck! No, the earliest we have snow here anymore is mid to late December. Though, for several years we haven't gotten any until January. which is fine by me. I hate snow!
Response: honestly I don't mind the snow - it is the freezing temps that I don't like!
Comment: Dear Julie,
Thank you co much for the postcard! I need to apologize for rating you late. It is nice to hear that you had fun while you were in St. Louis :-) Winter is coming, please stay warm!
Comment: Hi Julie,
Thank you so much for my awesome gifts! I love everything. My favorite item is the picture of the fairy with the butterflies floating around her. I am going to frame it. 🙂. Thanks again!
Comment: Thanks for the run-down of your day, Julie! Your day sounded like the relaxing kind of day that I crave, and I can totally relate to the 'missing the bus' part; I can't recall all the times I had to take a son to school because he missed the bus! Books on Amazon: I have a huge list of books that I want to read "when Life settles down and my schedule lightens up"! Thanks again!
Response: check out goodreads.com - another excellent source for readers!
Comment: thanks for the christmas card! I used to have a christmas decoration that was 3 cats that meowed to carol of the bells. Needless to say we eventually gave it away, the grandkids would not stop pressing that play button. The card reminded of that and brought back a lot of good memories. Thank you once again :)
Response: that ornament would have driven my dog batty!
Comment: Thanks for the interesting postcard! As far as the Cricut, they have great tutorials and videos on the design space program that will help you out. Also YouTube is a great fall back. Best wishes!
Comment: Many thanks for the lovely washi samples! I'm especially fond of the gold set--I have relatively few gold rolls in my collection. I think you forgot to include the 4th sample on the red set--there are only 3. Update: Thanks, Julie, for taking time to send extra samples to me . . . so thoughtful and much appreciated!
Response: OH NO - I will send another set for you - I am so sorry
Comment: Thank you for the card and bookmark. I will need to read some of the books I have never got a chance to. Baby G is dressing as a zombie princess this year. She loves creeepy instead of cute and at 2 3/4 I am totally ok that she has her own ideas already!!!
Response: so many kids at that age are loving zombies - I didn't know what they were at that age!
Comment: So about adding photos to your profile - it works well with Chrome. You would copy the "image address" of a photo you find and insert it as shown below, using this syntax:
!(HERE is where your "image address" should go)
And there are no spaces with that syntax either. It's an exclamation point with 2 square brackets [left and right, like this] followed by the address in parentheses. :)
Hope that helps! :D
Comment: Thank you for the gorgeous, striking National Parks vintage card -- the sequoias made me smile to recall a childhood visit to Yosemite :) I'd love to go back and hike/run the half-marathon one day ♥
Comment: Thank you for resending. I know it can happen that you send the wrong card. I actually love both cards. I will have to find out about the Harley factory in KC as that is only about 60 miles away from me.
Response: It's worth the visit - I am not a Harley person per say, but I had fun there.
Comment: Julie, thanks for the happy little notecard, and also for the stickers you included! The little butterfly ones are the perfect size to be an added embellishment on ATCs. I hope the weather cleared for you to get the Halloween decorations out! Thanks again!!!
Response: we have started putting them out now - have a Minion blow up still to go and some other small items like bones...
Comment: Hi, I love your card. You said you haven't made a ton of swaps, but, I think 55 swaps in one month is a ton of swaps ! I joined in 2007 and have made every kind of swap, except flip books, they look so complicated. Writing letters has turned out to be my very favorite type of swap and I really enjoyed reading your letter.
Response: i am trying to learn flip books - I bought two kits from Michaels to get my head around them
Comment: Thank you for the stunning view of Congdon Mansion! I always love visiting historic homes and museums, although I haven't been to any in awhile. I'm looking forward to hopefully catching the Oscar De La Renta exhibit in Houston this fall. Hope you're having a good week! :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful card, I love it! And you totally spoiled me with the currency, I don't have anything like it, thank you so much! I look forward to swapping with you soon. : )
Response: So happy I found that for you! Don't spend it all in one place!
Comment: Thank you sooo much! 💠My daughter is keeping all the pink stickers!!!!😆She said "Looove them! All mine. Thank you" 😂 Thank you for thinking about my kids. They get really excitedðŸ˜
Comment: Howdy back neighbor! I've definitely heard of Askov but unfortunately haven't been there yet. Thanks for the definitions. I didn't realize there was a different name for the handle of a scythe.
Comment: Thank you so much for the List Pad sheets! They are reallly nice.. I love the Witch one.. great color too! Thank you also for the mini sticky notes. Not much room for writing, but nice to use for other things! Thanks!
