Comment: Thanks for this beautiful tile? Can you tell me the names of the tangles you used? Did you use a .005 micron pen on this one? The lines are so very fine! Thanks too for the Zendala pattern! We are staying mostly at home, except to take supplies out to Amook Island. Stay safe and healthy! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: Thanks! I try to use some patterns I haven't used before. The"ribbon" isn't new. The other 2 are akoya and asleep (pattern.collections.com). Pen Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph 00/.30 they are refillable. price for the set, but I have enjoyed using them. Clog if not used often. Amazon and I've seen them at Jerry's Artarama (not sure if this is only local). I usually start with lite pencil lines and then erase. Right or wrong...I don't care, it makes me happy! Stay safe! Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you for the dimensional tile. It's the first time I've gotten one that wasn't flat. The crystal is an interesting touch. I like the embossed bunny card, too.
Response: You're welcome. I had glass crystals that were flatter, but I didn't think it would make it through the mail. I thought the crystal was the best way to keep the dried flower safe. Thanks for the heart and rate. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you! I love your tile. The coloring is exquisite. This is interesting.... I was watching the urban bunnies this morning, and was thinking I should make a shelter for them. I found just the right place for the shelter on my way to the mailbox. I opened your letter, and there was a notecard with a bunny on it!!
Comment: This is great! Love what you did with the ribbons. Not your usual style but awesome as well. Thank you so much.
Response: Not easy to do your "usual style" (whatever that is!) when you are challenged to think outside of your usual box. But it's good for the brain! Thanks for the heart and rate. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you so much.
It is gorgeous, perfect and such a pleasure to watch. I am very new in creating zentangle and when I see what you created it makes me want to practice more and do more. You are very inspiring. thank you so much
Response: Thanks for the kind words. I've been tangling for several years and I still have a lot to learn. Just wish I could remember all the crazy names! Check out patterns-collections.com to see more tangles. Keep practicing! I will if you will. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thanks for this excellent tile! Thanks too for the 2 new "I" tangles that I did not have in my tool box! I love the horsey card! We have no snow except on the very high mountains! The pussy willows are out! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: Welcome! Love pussy willows. Don't see them in NC, but did have them in Ohio. Check out this site for some interesting tangles. pattern-collections.com
Thanks for rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Your jewel is fabulous! Your work is beautiful. I’m trying to learn to shade as beautiful as you, what do you use to blend so wonderfully...... 5++
Response: Thanks. First time for a gem! I love the fine lines and use a refillable Rapidograph OO or Micron 005, graphite pencil HB and paper stump to blend the pencil. When the paper stump gets "dirty" I use a nail file to clean it. I'm gonna have to do more gems to understand them better. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Hello Susan :-) . . . Thanks for the nice Daisy tile, and thanks for the presentation idea. I haven't made many 4" x 4" tiles so didn't have any ideas on how to send them, but now I'm going to make pocket sleeves like you sent with the closure sleeve. Say HI to your cat for me; she has a lovely name :-)
Response: So...I seem to be a little behind in responding. Such is life! Glad you liked your daisy. I have always like to create them! And yes...Gracie is a wonderful name. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful Spring postcard. We had Spring weather here for the last week. Yesterday it was 75! But today we are back to reality with a high of 35 or so. And snow in the forecast. Thanks, again. Happy swapping.
Response: Thanks for the rate and heart...better late than never! Glad you enjoyed your pc. Hope your weather is changing...well, it's ever changing! I've tried to control it, but apparently I can't. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Hi Susan...thank you for your twinchie. Hope you like my addition. What a wonderful idea to get all participants to add a little info about themselves. Do you mind if I take up your great idea in future swaps? Cheers 😊â¤ï¸
Response: I look forward to seeing your "addition." And yes, use the info idea any way you wish. We need to know our partners and this is one way to do that. Thank for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you, thank youfor such a great swap! I always look forward to what you will make. It's always so pretty! Did you really make a zine just for me? You don't know how much I love that. I will happily add it to my collection, many thanks.
Response: Glad you liked your "flowers". And yes...I did make the zine for you. Never made one before, but thought that since you liked them I would give it a try. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you for the doodle postcard! Very cool! XO
Response: Welcome. Seems that I can alway fine a little time to tangle. Currently have an order for 7 photo albums that I have been doing. Have to have them completed by mid May. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Stunning as always! I have the beginning of a beautiful collection <3 Thanks Susan!
Ha! I would if I could :) For a while I kept sending to poor Carole in Canada. I'm sure she has more of mine than she ever wanted. lol
Response: Welcome. Interesting that I get to send you something so often. How'd you fix that. Yeah...I know you can't. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: I'm always excited when I see you are sending to me :) I adore your art and each postcard I love more than the last! I love this tree. You have such a steady hand and light touch. It amazes me. Thanks so much for the card and the big smile it put on my face <3
Response: You are very welcome. Lately it seems that I only have time for pc's. I have a booth at Going Local NC and have been working on stuff for the holiday season. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Was looking forward to reciving this, your tangles are always so beautiful! Loved the flowers. Thanks so much.
Response: Welcome. Thanks for the nice compliment! I though this was a fun way to do the pc. Get used to me sending you something in the mail as I will be sending more! ;o) Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: This is such a beautiful tile, love how you made one image the focal point ! It's very different than what I would think of doing which is one of the reasons I look forward to receiving from you. Thank you so much.
Comment: Thank you Susan for such a great Rolo it's my first rolo swap and I'm so glad that you took the time to do such a great job. The rolo container is awesome by the way, thank you so much. Happy week.
Response: Welcome. Enjoy swapping with all the peeps here at Swap-Bot. I have enjoyed learning how to do a variety of "creations!" See ya at the mail box.
Comment: I love your painting of the house, silo and building. Very nicely done. Thanks so much. I hope you are staying warm in NC.
Response: Welcome. I enjoyed creating your pc with watercolor crayons and pencils! Snow...again! But you are probably getting some of the same. We just need to be safe. Thanks for asking. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Both cards are lovely. Sorry you had to send twice! First swap was held up in the PO for needing $1.86 in postage (more than 1/4" thick, uneven thickness). (Sender says she will send the cost of postage in an unknown future swap.)
Response: I hope you've received the money for postage due. And yes, I do what I say I will do.
Comment: Thanks Susan :) Your Zentangle Mandala is so delicate and well drawn. It's very lovely.
Response: Welcome. I enjoy the tangles. Recently tangled 2 mandalas framed them and placed them in a local shop. It will be interesting to see if they sell. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you for a great art journal page. I like how you incorporated the stamps with the photograph. Thank you! :-)
Response: Welcome. I have no idea where the photo came from. I was given some of canceled stamps and found it there. Someone's piece of history sent on to you. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Susan, thanks so much for a really creative and beautiful done Rolo! The egg shells are absolutely perfect and very creative and clever! What did you use to color them? I must try some things using egg shells now and shredded paper as well! Thanks so much!
Response: Welcome. Egg shells were colored with alcohol ink [with a paint brush] after they were glued in place. I also put a sealer on them to protect the color. Shredded paper was from an old dictionary [used a ruler to rip]. This was the first time I've used shells...it was fun to try! Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely postcard! So much better getting art in the mail than seeing it in a museum cuz I got to TOUCH yours. So much texture and rich color! Ooooh. I love it! Thank you again. XOXO
Response: Welcome. Love 'snail mail' too. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Hello, it took me a moment to realized...This is the page & it's an Envelope too. Very creative! Thank you so much
Response: Welcome. Apparently, sometime, I like to 'create' something to my partner 'think outside of the box'! This was one of them. I thought you would enjoy scripting your 'inter most' thoughts...and then be able to tuck them into an altered book. Enjoy the adventure. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thanks for the great "F" page. I'm a big bike rider so it was perfect. Have biked everyday since 5/1 for a national bike challenge that runs until 9/30. My city took 1st place in the nation last year, hope to do it again. I collect wine labels to use in my art.
Response: Welcome. Glad I was able to create something that would relate to you! Without knowing!! Good luck with you with you national bike challenge. Keep on pumping! Love the bottle labels! They're fun to use on a page! Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thanks Susan for the PC! How did you get the cool texture on the cream cubed areas?
Response: Welcome. Cubes...used Liquitex flexible modeling paste, stencil and an old credit card to spread the paste. Painted and rubbed color on. Then used the stencil and brown paint. Glad you liked your pc. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Gorgeous! Love all the ribbon - I just have to hang her high enough so the cat can't reach her. He'd have a field day. He can't resist things that move in the breeze.
Response: This was fun to do and I enjoyed using some of the ribbon stash I have. As for a cat...got one of them too. She also loves things that move...even my leg if I don't pay her any attention. Glad she doesn't use her 'claws'! Give your kitty a treat for me. Thanks for the rate and heart See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you so much for the amazing postcard. It's beautiful. Also, what kind of glue do you use? Wowzers! I can't believe that delicate trellis and all the other details made it completely intact through the mail. Wonderful in so many ways. XOXO
Response: Welcome. Glad you liked this one. I had fun 'cutting' that trellis! Glue...decoupage 'glue and gel medium. The last coat was put on with an old credit card. I probably did several coats as I was adding 'stuff'. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: You always do such nice work. For future swaps in this series, remember that the card should feature a THING that starts with the assigned letter of the alphabet, as well as the letter itself.
Response: Oops! I'll remember. Apparently I was having a 'senior moment"!
Comment: Thanks for the great card. Love your art. We have been having typical Kansas weather. Cool one day warm the next. Today wasn't bad but we are supposed to have snow storm moving in by morning. Might be the most snow of the season as most has either missed us or we just got the edge.
Response: Welcome. The card was fun to do...and I have 3 others! Have already sent one to a friend. Please stay warm and most of all safe. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Response: Welcome. I had fun creating it and 3 more! Used a full sheet of bristol vellum and cut into 4ths. So someones gonna get another some time! Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Loved your Zendala.
What size pen do you use?
Response: Welcome. Pen…Koh-i-noor, 3x0 .25, refillable pen. I got tired of buying pens and decided to purchase a set of 6?, but use 2 sizes, very fine and thicker. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: You did a lovely job, I would have thought it was a very simple zentangle but in fact, that Z-Trik was a nightmare! I had to do it a couple of times before I was happy with it, its not one I would use as a favourite! Thank you, yours was very well done!
Response: Welcome…and yes, it is not a tangle that I have used before. But it was fun. Love that we are using tangles that we don't use often. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Your page is absolutely beautiful. I love Violets, and have them all over in my yard. Thank you very much.
Response: Welcome. I love them also. Can't wait for Spring for them to show their sweet little faces. When living in Ohio, I would sometimes see white or cream violets. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Hi Susan. I was so excited to see that you were my partner! I love the book you made. And since it is from you I will use it to organize some of my favorite zentangle patterns. The cover are is stunning (and thanks for the extra bugs and pretty tags). I enjoyed making this book and will probably be doing some for Christmas presents. Hope to swap with you again soon! <3<3<3 Ohhh! I didn't realize the dragonfly was a photo of YOURS! How cool! It makes him even more special!
Response: Yes...what a surprise to be swapping with you. Haven't seen you lately. Apparently we are 'running' in different circles! And what better to place into your book but tangles that you love. The dragonfly was on my deck and called to me to take his photo! Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you, Susan! What a great looking tangle! I love how the pattern looks with the extra "spoke" in the design. (And the card you sent had "diamonds," too. That made me smile.) One of my coworkers just had her engagement ring, wedding band, and anniversary ring made into one ring. We were admiring it last week.
Response: Welcome! This was a fun tangle...and don't we all love diamonds. Interesting what your coworker did with her rings. My husband died 20 years ago so I took my engagement ring, our 25 anniversary rings, and my family ring and put all into 1 ring. I did this I guess within a year of his death. When I explaine the ring to others I tell them that I wear my life in the ring. Thanks for hosting swaps...they have been fun and interesting. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: WOW! WOW! What a beautiful page. thank you so much.
Response: So...it finally arrived! Glad you are enjoying this dala. It's to bad the envelope can't tell you where it's been...'road trip' gotta love it. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: I always get excited when I see your name on the envelope! This is so absolutely beautiful I don't know how to thank you. Especially like and admire the way you tangled the hair. This will not go in a book, it needs to be on the wall.
Response: Sweet words...thank you very much. I am very happy you liked the face in a zendala. I wish I could say that I drew the face...but alas...I copied. This was the first time I' tried to do hair! Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thanks for the gorgeous tile. :) :) Love the intricate work!! Let me know if you have any suggestions to add to these swaps. Take care. <3<3
Response: Thanks...glad you like the tile. Love that you are doing these dares and wish more tangles were interested. But those of us that sign up are having a great time. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Many thanks for the beautiful pics -- I think that I love the regal look of the lil bug perched on the yellow flower the best!
Response: Welcome. I agree. The yellow flower was in the grass...just a wild flower or weed as some would call it. I thought they were sweet and started to take a photo...and behold...before my eyes was 'the bug!' Waiting patiently to have his photo snapped. So I did! Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Beautiful photos! Thank you for the cards, I will certainly use them.
Response: Glad you enjoyed your photos and cards. [My swap partner made cards and I thought it was a wonderful idea...so I decided to make cards also.] Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: I didn't peek! (I was tempted to!) LOL!! I'll finish my half tonight. How fun! Your tangle is really pretty, by the way!
Here's a pic of both of them together:
Response: Challenge...not to peek! Should be interesting what you create vs mine tangle! Have fun. Let me know how your 'twin' tangle turns out. Thanks for the rate. See ya at the mail box. Love the tangles you did for the 'twin.' Photos on flicker are great.
* What a surprise that you sent your twin back. I love it. Thanks.
Comment: WOW.. this certainly makes up for the terrible E that I was sent first by the other person.. what a lovely E.. thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!
Lots of technique and effort.. and it is so much appreciated! :D
Response: Welcome. If I haven't stated before...I like to do tangles of the letters we are working on. So happy that you like your 'E'!!! See ya at the mail box.
Comment: I like how you made it overlapping! I wouldn't have thought of doing that...:)
Response: Welcome...overlapping...well, I made a mistake so that's what I did. A agree...I like th look also. Interesting what happens when we make a mistake...but then sometimes mistakes make the world a beautiful place! See ya at the mail box.
Comment: I am constantly astounded at the magnificence of Zentangles and YOURS is further proof that I have so much to learn, thankyou for an outstanding work and the effort you put into it C:
Response: Welcome...you make be blush! I love creating tangles, been doing them for about 4 years [I see others work and know that I still have much to learn]. Practice! Practice!! Practice!!! And we will. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Sorry I'm so late in rating - I thought I had done it earlier. Nice to know we have so many things in common. I do like to incorporate beading into my art quilts. I wasn't able to hand quilt for a long time because I had carpal tunnel but now that I've had the surgery, I can try my hand at it. I have a panel with the map of US on it that I want to handquilt. I collect pins from the places we have visited and thought this would be a great way to display them. I've been doing the craft show here for about 8 years so would be happy to ansdwer any questions you might have. I love zentangling and found a pattern on line that I have to try. She did the outlines for the zentangle and then filled them in with black and white fabrics that looked like zentangling and then finished with a satin stitch on the outlines. So of course gave me a reason to buy more fabric. Take care and hope our group can get together this year.
Response: You're never too late...I sometimes have the same problem. Things sit at the computer and before it I'm on some other site! What's a girl to do. Sounds like you are enjoying your quilting again...good. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: What a beautiful zentangle!!! It is so good it looks like a print out!!! I hope to be as good as you, one day! By the way where do you get such a thin marker and what size is it! Great work, thank you!
Response: Welcome. The letter was done with a stencil. I decided to do all the letters this way. Pens: Micron 005 if you can find it and Koh-i-noor 3x0/.25 refillable. The 005 is just a wee bit larger. I also love the very fine lines, but appreciate very much what others create. I've been tangling about 4 years...so keep practicing! See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thanks for the comment on my profile. I love Janet Evanovich. Have you listened to her books on CD? I drive alot so I read in the car. Loralie King does all the voices for all the characters. AWESOME!!! I wish I knew what it was about doors. Just gotta love em. Say hi to Grace for me.
Response: Welcome. No I don't have CD's of Ms. Plum! I also like to listen to CD when I drive on trips. Passes the time while I pass cars! Grace said, "meow." Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Absolutely lovely tangles, as always! Thank you!
Response: Welcome. I enjoys doing the tangles. I've been sending a tangled postcard to a local police officer for the past few months. No feed back...wonder what he thinks? A challenge from church around the movie Courage. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box
Comment: Love, love, love it! So funny because my mono. is the same pattern you sent me. Great minds think alike. It's one of my favorites. Haven't forgotten about my project for you. I keep adding to it. You should get it soon though,
Response: Aren't we smart! I also love this tangle. I seen to always want to put it somewhere. Also...I'm still waiting for my creation!!! See ya at the mail box.
Comment: I am new at rolos. I didnt realize this was just a B tab swap and I made a b tab with a B item. Your card was sturdy and beautiful. Hey, that start with B. Thank you. Your pumpkin card will get upcycled or used in future crafts.
Response: Glad you are joining us with rolos. We all have to learn and we learn by making mistakes...that's life! Hopefully your swap partner will understand. I had fun creating your 'pumpkin' card! Thanks for the rate and heart! See ya at the mail box.
Comment: This is an exceptional zendala! I especially like your choice of tangles. Thanks so much. I would give you more hearts if I could.
Response: Welcome. I love to tangle! Been sending a tangled postcard to a police officer each Monday, church challenge, for courage with a quote, wonder how long I will do this! Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Super nice job! I wish I could visit "Venice".
Response: Glad you like your atc. Venice was wonderful. I was on a cruise with 3 ladies. The photo was when we were coming in to dock, the Grand Canal is a backward S. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Hello Susan,
Thank you for your absolutely GORGEOUS ATC you sent me for M is for....ATC. Your presentation speaks a million bucks. (no pun meant). I can't wait to add this to my A-Z is for...ATC Series. It will such a great addition to the series. Did you use real money to hang out of the bag? It sure looks real. I hope we have more opportunities to swap with one another. Happy Swapping!!!
Response: Welcome. And yes...it is real money and no I did not cut it. Somewhere way back when, I got it from someone running for treasurer in Ohio. It has been fun thinking up something 'different' for this series. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful rolo!!! And I really appreciate the extras! I was trying to figure out how to store all these cards :)
Response: Welcome. Glad you liked your shamrock. I haven't tried to make this rolo tray, but I like that you can create ones for the different sizes. Let me know how it goes! Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Gorgeous page - the silhouette die cut, the fabric bg, the subject matter (I'm a sucker for anything with children in it). Thank you! BTW, is that something you cut? It's so delicate. Kathy
Response: Welcome. I enjoyed creating this page for you. And, yes, I cut the silhouette...took me a few days to complete, but so much fun. Being of 'the older generation' and 'having more time' I tend to work on most swaps for a few days depending on what I have selected to do. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: OH MY GOSH! Thank you so much for all the stickers! This was my first mail art swap I ever joined and this was a great suprise. You're very talented and I like the envelope a lot. I'll post it on my blog in a minute.Thank you Susan! You made my day.
Response: Welcome. Glad you liked your 'mail art' Seeing that you have problems finding stickers and knowing that I have too many! You got some! Enjoy. I look forward to swapping mail art with you, it's fun! Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: I love, love, love this ATC!!! It is so cute and the fact that it unfolds with the Grinch Song inside is just incredible!!! Thank you so much for a great "G" ~~ and thanks for the Story of Peter Pan - it was so thoughtful of you to send it and I agree the pictures are great! Thanks again. . . and enjoy retirment (I sure do - it's what I worked for my entire life!) ~~
Response: Welcome. Glad you enjoyed your 'G!' I've tried to think of 'something different' than the norm. And yes...I, too, am enjoying retirement. Thought the story of Peter was interesting...and different then other stories I have heard. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Your page is beautiful, and i love the Tennyson quote. I'm also originally from Ohio, and we even have wild yellow (a pale yellow) violets here in Missouri. Thanks for a great swap. Kathy
Response: Welcome. Whenever I see violets I always thing of a song...'sweet vio-let, sweeter than the roses. covered all over from head to toe, covered all over with sweet voi-let' Old but sweet! Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: I love the flowers and then the way you added beads to them make them sparkle and stand out! I did add the leaves to the top right side, I agree that they look perfect there! Thank you for making me something so sweet!
Response: Your very welcome. I'm glad 'this one' fit! Thanks for hosting. I look forward to move great swaps. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: what a GORGEOUS envelope!! i really love what you did with this challenge! it's just fab & survived the trip without a hitch :)! thanks for all the goodies inside too! BTW what do you use as a sealer? it has a really nice subtle shimmer :)
Response: So glad it survived the swim! I have really enjoy doing these envelopes. Your fishes came from 2 pages of a calendar. I copied and cut, cut, cut! The sealer I'm currently using is Aleene's Instant Decoupage matte and I've also sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Wheatfields. There are several layers of 'glue. I find it interesting that the envelope feel so much stronger and 'leathery' to the touch. Now that I have given away my 'most valued' secrets. Try it and let me know how you are enjoying the challenge. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Love the desert card! I've been to Vegas a couple of times but never to Joshua Tree. Now I have another reason to travel again!! Thanks so much!!
Response: Welcome. FYI...the Joshua tree lives in the desert. I found the shape interesting. Did not have the opportunity to 'touch' one to feel the texture of the foliage. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thank you! I love the beautiful envie - did you paint it? It's so beautiful! I also LOVE the card you made with the Valentine story - very clever :) And thanks so much for the sweet note. I do LOVE my job. Funny thing too - my "favorite" student's name is Michael :)
Response: So glad you liked your envelope. I wish I could say I painted it, but alas...no. I used clip art that I printed, cut, and glued. used at pencil to 'darken' areas, fine point Sharpie, and white out pen. I fine it interesting that the several coats of 'glue' create an envelope like this. This is the 2nd one I've made. Questions...let me know. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: Thankyou Susan for the lovely photos. I love the photo of the horses, it is nice and love the trees, I'd love to walk in the snow and make footprints. The daffodils are so nic and I enjoyed reading about your photos. Thankyou, Susan for the nice card, love Jennifer.
Response: Welcome. Glad you enjoyed the photos. Winter this year has been unseasonably warm! I'm glad you enjoyed the horse and mule photos. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box.
Comment: What a lovely ribbon zentangle :) Thank you so much for the lovely picture of your daffodils in the front yard! And what a beautiful home :) I really enjoyed your letter, sounds like you stay very busy! Thank you again sweet friend.
Response: Welcome. Glad you enjoyed this tangle and daffodils. Thanks for the rate and heart. See ya at the mail box!
Comment: Thanx for the zany zentangle! The 1st thing i thought of was a picture i had to draw in elem. of skin....then a cake!;-) Happier thought!;-) But I like your name the best...Let the son shine in! Fits it perfectly, thanx for the extras too! Blessings, cc
Response: Welcome. Love sending memories even when I don't know it! Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: thank you for the dragon card! land of the raising sun--- that is my country! thank you for the nice zentangles in the envie too.
Response: Welcome. So glad you like it. I was excited to be your partner as I knew that you were in Japan. Your tangle called for the saying. Hope all is well with you and you stay safe. Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: I was under the impression that we were supposed to do the back, too (that's what I've been doing), so I was a bit disappointed when I turned the tag around, but when I re-read the requirements, nothing is said about decorating the back - so... a heart to your tag for a great front! I like it very much, thank you. This is the first one of the city tags I've received, that's why I've allowed myself to be under that false impression all this time :)
What a good idea to write your note on the back of a nice piece of paper I can use on a future item!
I've been to gay Paree, but when I was a kid and didn't appreciate it - would like to return to Europe and see all those places through an adult's eye.
Response: Sorry for your initial disappointment! But I do try very hard to adrear to the reguirements. But in the long run...you did enjoy the tag. I have never been to Paris, but would love to go. Not too sure that will happen so seeing others creations for various cities has been enjoyable. Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: What a fun little swap! The twinchies are cool (I love that they were done puzzle/tryptic style). I like the hand made envies, note card and extra tag. I had a tough day and your swap really made me smile. :-) Thanks so much.
Response: Welcome. Sometimes the mail brings us just the thing we need. Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: Hello Susan,
Thank you for your snowman ATC. It will be a great part of the 3 part series of Santa, reindeer, and snowman. The color, glitter, and border added much to the ATC. Have a wonderful Christmas season and a blessed 2012.
P.S. Thank you for the extra papers you sent along with the ATC.
Response: Welcome. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Comment: Thankyou Susan for the beautiful postcard of The Smoky Mountains, they look so nice in a black and white photo. Thankyou Susan for the infomation on the back of the postcard and I love the Autumn envie, love Jennifer.
Response: Welcome. Glad you liked the photo. There is something about landscapes in black and white...a different look at our world. Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: Hi neighbor! Oh my is all I can say!! Your tangles are so beautiful. I love them. I do not want to share, but I will.
Response: Glad you are enjoying the tangles even if it is for a short time! I took photos of the tangles and will when I get the journal from my partner. I'm going to create a 'book' with the tangles. Thanks for the rate and heart...neighbor!
Comment: thank you
just an FYI..the envelope was torn open. Im finding that is happening alot lately.
I loved your cards...and they are JUST LIKE ME!! I love to travel abroad and I feel just like your cards "You lose sight of things and when you travel, everything balanes out." Awesome cards..I dont want to give them away :(
Response: Welcome! Sorry the mail is so hard on our envelopes. I, too, like to travel. Wish I could do more. Thanks for the rate and heart
Comment: What a nice ATC! I love it. The little dancer standing out from the base is adorable and perfect. That is my favorite style of Indian dance too. Thank you for all the prayer flag info too - while I was looking for something to add to my own India ATC, I came across 3 prayer flags I had completely forgotten I had. Thank you for the extra papers and the little Victorian boot! I'm going to be doing the swap where we Zentangle a boot so this may be my model. :)
Response: Welcome for all the nice comments. All my travel series open. Need to learn something when we travel!!! Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: Thank you for sharing your stirring memories of 9/11, and of your trip to NYC years later. To hear that the typical street you walked on was one of those streets in the images of powder grey people running for their lives was chilling. Your leadlight eagle is wonderful, and will be a valued piece of history left behind, even long after your own great-grandchildren shuffle off this mortal coil. Nicely done.
Comment: Hi Susan, I loved reading your letter about the memories of 9/11. I liked the stained glass window memorial you made too. Thank you.
Response: I, too, have enjoyed the memories I have received. The eagle, United We Stand' is hanging in a West window. He is beautiful. One piece that I am not interested in selling. He stands for all the things I believe in and he's watching over us.
Comment: This is truely one of the best packages I have ever received...Just really can not say Thank You enough....my first ever "paper doll", looks like fun ...and the ribbon is outstanding.....Many more Hearts if possible.....
Response: Glad you enjoyed your package. I've done 2 paperdoll swaps and thought they were fun. Last 1 was tangled. As for ribbon...you know how you begin to get so-o-o-o much and you don't now what to do with it? Well, U got some!!! have fun...I had fun selecting. I'll probably go looking for that ribbon at a later date! Thanks for the rate and heart Susan :o)
Comment: Made me giggle! Thought of owl rushing into tree and missing door after a night out!!! I love it!! Needed that laugh too. Thanks for joining the swap!!
Response: You know how a tangle starts and before you know it you have something you never knew you were going to draw. Well, that's what happened with your PC. I also thought it looked like an owl. Who new! Glad you had a good laugh. We all need them more often.
Comment: Wow - you did an incredible job on this zentangle! Super fine detail - you must have used a .005 pen. Great choice of designs (a couple are new to me so that is fun). And all the extra goodies you sent with be used with delight. Thanks so much for joining my swap! <3<3<3
Response: Glad you enjoyed the tangle...look forward to the next set. Pen - Koh-i-noor .25 refillible. Love it! Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: Thanks for the great Zentangle, as well as the other goodies! The stamps are amazing! I'm intrigued by your Hungry /genealogical question, and I'm going to send you a private message about it...
Response: Glad you liked the tangle. I have stamps from my mother and from an elderly gentleman. Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: Thank you so much for the absolutely gorgeous ATC - you're so neat and tidy - I really wish I could get my lines that neat - and your selection of patterns was spot on too. Thanks also for the stamps and ATC blanks - are those plain white ones just really thick bristol board? Anyway, all my best, thanks for swapping :o)
Response: Glad you liked you atc. As for pen, I have been using a Koh-i-noor Rapidgraph set I purchased. They are refillible. I use the 3x0/.25 size the most.ATC blanks were sent to me in another swap and I re-gifted them to you. Stamps were mine. Thanks for the rate and heart. I alos look forward to swapping with you in the future.
Comment: What a fabulous ATC!! I LOVE the beads going down the side, and I thought it was so neat that when I took it out of the sleeve it opened and had interesting facts about Egypt. You did a great job!
Response: Glad you like your visit to Egypt. Gotta learn while we travel! Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: Wow, Susan! What a lovely zentangle you made. It's so delicate. I love it. Thank you! I noticed that the E and F tangles were very floral in nature. (Or at least the tangles that I was drawn to were and the ones you drew as well.) And thanks for the instructions too. I don't recall seeing :Festoon" or "Flowers" anywhere, so now I have a something new to try. Thanks again! Beautiful!
Response: Glad you enjoyed your tangle. Great minds think alike. I like the florals too. I have used them on cards and envelopes. Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: Absolutely beautiful! And so very kind of you to include your lovely welcome note and some goodies. Susan you really went over and above. I would love to know how you made those beautiful inchies with the ladies faces on them.
Thank you so much!
Response: So glad you like the inchies...and thanks for the rate and heart. I'll send you a message!
Comment: Thank you soooo much for the inchies! I must say you gave me some inspiration for my future inchies!
Response: So glad you like your inchies. I seem to think that I have to do something that 'moves me'! What better thing than the Beatles. Not exactly 'my time', but did it anyway. Love the ladies...and like to put one on the set of inches. Just can't help myself.
Comment: Thank you for the gorgeous zentangle ATC. You picked some lovely patterns and your penwork is exquisite! Definitely one of the best zentangles I have ever received. And thank you so much for the printed pattern sheets. <3<3<3
Response: You are welcome. I do love the tnagles and fine lines. Have swapped a few tangles with color pens, but it is just not the same. Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: Wow! What a fun package of Christmas items. Thank you!!!
Response: Glad you are enjoying your Christmas package. At some point you need to send on things you aren't using and have too much of. It was fun preparing your package. Oh ya!!! I still have Christman stuff! Susan
Comment: love the atc..great job on the faux silk look...i give it a thumbs up for sure, love the stamp you used and thanks so much for the extras greatly appreciated, btw
The beach is definitely a relaxing place..and i am so glad that i live here now..no more carrying bags of shells home lol..now i just collect sharks teeth
Response: Glad you liked the faux silk. Thanks for the 'thumbs up', rate and heart. Susan
Comment: Wow, Susan - this postcard is SO awesome, I love the cut-out technique!! Thank you! <3
Response: So glad you 'finally' have your postcard. I really really loved this card...but sent it anyway. Sure could have kept this one for myself! Thanks for understand the error and thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: Susan, I love your style! Thanks for those two very pretty cards!
Response: Always happy to know that these postcards arrive. Question...could you please send me pictures of the cards..forgot to do that...just so I remember what I've done. Thanks and thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: Oh my gosh - your Zentangle is wonderful! You have such lovely printing - what kind of pen did you use (if you do not mind me asking!)? Thanks also for the extras! You made me HAPPY! ;) - Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Glad you are HAPPY! Pen, well, I started with Micron when I first did tangles. Hated that I had to keep buying more and more pens. Then I saw a refillable pen at Mickaels [$20] used a coupon and bought it. But it was ..probable an 08. Looked on line for additional and inally puechased a set of Koh-i-noor pens. The one I use most is .25 and is refillable. Thanks for the rate and heart.
Comment: A very nice Zentangle. At first I didn't notice the shading. Very subtle. I really would like to find a pen that makes such thin lines. Very nice, thank you! Oh - and love the envelope!
Response: Glad you liked your tangle. Pen - Koh-i-noor Rapidgraph -3x0-25; purchased a set online with 7 sizes for about $80? and they are refillable. I realy like them. There is some cleaning to do also. Sading with pencil and paper blending stump which can be used w/charcoal, graphite, or pastels..so far only used w/pencil. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: It is lovely! I love the delicate embellishements you used!
Response: As this was my 1st time to try a 'somerset' type creation; I'm glad you as host received 1 of the skinnys. I was concerned if it was correct or if needed something else. I do appreciate your input.
Comment: Thank you so much for a lovely swap. I luv the way you thought outside the box or should I say pocket on this one...lol! Opening each pocket was like finding a new treasure. The vintage bits and postage stamps were a wonderful extra!
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed your 'pocket'. I had fun creating this ATC. I always make one for myself...like to remember what I did for each ATC swap. Thank you for the heart. Happy holidays to you and yours.
Comment: Hi Susan, Thanks for the great ATC!! I love it. Thanks also for the extra paper. I will ceertainly put it to good use. i am already thinking of what to do with it. Again, thanks for the great ATC., Nancy (grannystamper)
Comment: Wow, Susan, your stained glass wip is just beautiful!! Can you come over to my house and fix my windows, too??!!
Response: Oregon. Yea, I can do that! Never been there, so 'Road Trip'! Only kidding. Glad you likes the glass. I have a few other items on my blog. I like to do 3D items also. Check it out. New to the blog thing, so be gentle.
Comment: Wow, Susan, what a great zentangle and package. I am thrilled with the lovlies you sent. Certainly above and beyond. Wish I could give you more than one heart. Your zentangle is so clever and I love the envie you made for it. You are quite the creative one. Thanks so much for the flowers and extras. I can use them all and especially in the classe I give for ladies here....I provide everything. They'll love it. I can see you are a stamp collector, those aren't new stamps. Thanks.
Response: Glad you enjoyed your package. Extras! I do understand providing for others. Previous life...I worked at a retirement community and 'created' an art project weekly. As for stamp collector. No, but have a variety of 'old' stamps from my mother and one of the residents at the retirement community. Can seem to discard, so I send a few with swaps where profile indicates they are collectors. Susan
Comment: Oh my gosh what an awesome pc!! Even my hubby was impressed!! So please give the secret on how to make such a work of art!! Your printing is lovely as well!! Wish I could give more than one heart! ;)
Response: So glad you likes the EEEEEEE! I had fun doing it. Ok, now for the 'how to'! Picture is from AARP, yes, I'm old! Copied onto cream card stock 2 copies. Cut horizonal on 1 and vertical on the other, then weave together. ModPodge covered all and 'stuck' some under strips to hold all together. Cut E after all was dry. Be careful as some of the strips needed glue when I finished cutting. Any question...let me know. Susan
Comment: You have done a great job on these ATCs. I too remember the rhyme from when I was a kid. Well done and thanks. Thanks also for the extras which will definitely come in handy.
Response: I have ben having fun doing the APT's. The 10's canned me to do the 10 Little Indians, but how! Love the internet for helping me to find just the right 'indians' for your cards! We need the memories of younger days to get us through our older days. Susan
Comment: Loooved the PC you sent! It was very cute! Were those pictures of your cat? or from a magazine or something?
Response: Glad you liked the card. I am having fun doing them. No, the cats are not mine...I received a calendar, the tear-off type, and knew that I would use the cats/kittens sometime...you are the first. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: The ATC is great. However, I do not understand how pandakitty relates to the state of North Carolina
Response: Reading your comment, I wondered if I had not read the directions correctly. As instructed "Create an ATC based on, or inspired by your own Username." As my Username is nc27614, that is what I did. What was your undeerstanding of the swap?
Comment: Your ATCs are amazing! I am simultaneously excited to have such beautiful ATCs but I am also struggling with feelings of inadequacy as mine are NO WHERE NEAR that good! Thanks again!
Response: I am glad you like your ATC's. And struggle is good for the soul!!!I thought about the jacks for some time. Then I remembered that I had clip art of the boy and girl with flags...check out Stampington & company. They have a newsletter where they have in eash issue FREE clip art and stuff for sale. This was the first time that I have entered for playing cards and I did learn something. Tip for the day: I sanded your cards, but not the ones I made for myself. I know why for me? I always make myself a card so I know what I have done. Yours are not laying as flat as I would like, sorry. I think sanding opened the paper and allowed the glue to dampen the paper to make it warp! Bummer!! But I also thought they were 'beautiful. And appropriate for July and the 4th.
Comment: Yeay double partner ! Thank you soo much the bee Zentangle was soo cute ! Cant wait to put it up in my new house/craft room ! Also thanks for the extras !
Response: Glad you enjoyed the 'bees'! Yes, surprise to be partnered on 2 swaps. You will have to post a picture of your new 'craft room' in your new house! What fun you will have getting things where you want them.
Comment: great swap I am sure i can "scrap it". we got the dirty side of Alex I am right on the coast by Galveston. big storm it has been straight rain. we are safe only going out if necessary .
Response: Glad all is well in your area. I had en creating your card, my first like this. I was concerned with mailing so I'm glad it got there with no problems. Layering papaers and naked mail, must be creative.
Comment: Thank you so much for the altered envies and extras! I can't wait to use them!
Response: Had a fun making these. As I am of the 'older generation' I tend to be more conservative. Have fun using them. I had started to use some of the envies I have received. I wonder what people think? Hope they put a smile on their face!
Comment: Susan! Ahh.. Dreams really do come true! How sweet you are to me. Thank you so much for the extras! I am so incredibly excited about the ATC sleeves AND card stock. Anyone who knows/meets you is just one lucky human! I think so much of you and your art! Thank you 1,000 times! <3 I love it ALL!
Response: Surprise! I was when I saw that you were my partner. I'm glad you like the extras. And as for lucky!!! it's the give and take of the individuals you come in comtact with and how they help make youa better person. Still have to send you an email...not done yet! but will do.
Comment: Hi Susan, WOW! Thank you so much for the huge envie you sent. The ATC is very nicely drawn & coloured and then all the stationary and cards you put in...well, it was a truly great package to get today. And I sure could use the smiles it brought. So thanks heaps & take care.
Response: Glad I sent you a smile. I had fun putting everything together for you. I saw that you like to 'write letters' so I wanted to give you something new to use.
Comment: WOW! You sent me so much everything lovely!! I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the envelope... You were really kind!! And those envelopes you made are lovely, thank you! You made good work with them! :) Many hugs to you Susan!
Response: I'm glad you are enjoying the extras. Since you have a baby girl, I thought you would be able to use the cute papers.
Comment: Thanks for the sweet envelopes made from magazine and catalog pages. Thanks for the sheet music and German ephemera as well. I can use everything you sent. You asked for feedback on the envelopes...they are colorful, but too flimsy in their natural state to go through the mail, but I can fix that by applying several coats of Golden Gel Medium. Thanks again!
