Comment: Thanks for the well-made block. What an interesting world we live in: We are very cold, well below freezing and you are so hot even your cat allows you to put a damp tea towel on her (I never would have thought of that!) I certainly would not sew in that kind of heat either.
Response: :) Thanks for your rating and heart. Weather has cooled a little but it is still summer so .....who knows what is to come
Comment: beautiful block, expert sewing skills, I'm with you like this block, have already been out shopping for all the colors of fabric that we'll need in furture swaps. As always a pleasure having you as a partner!
Response: Thank you so much for the kind words, along with a great rating & heart:)
Comment: Thank you for this fabulous block, well worth waiting for, love the fabric & pattern, the extra fabric will be used today, going in a Roman Square quilt top which is a good scrap block. Once again thank you!
Response: I'm really glad you like the block & extra fabric bits. Thank you so much for the rating & heart:) If you want a laugh read my rating for the BOM B&W April swap.
Comment: You're so efficient, I need to make mine today.. since I'm going to be productive! As ever its a super swap. Thank you and your blocks are always so much fun and simple but so striking!
Awesome, thank you again
Response: I laughed when you called me efficient! But very glad you like the block. Thanks for the rating & heart:)
Comment: I love the blocks, the extra block is always appreciated, have never tried that pattern, but I love birds of any sort. Please don't feel bad, things happen, hope we meet again soon in another swap
Response: Thank you for the great rating & heart :) It ended up being another great swap.
Comment: Dear Glenys, Wow! The autumn fabrics used in the coasters are wonderful, and so pretty. I can definitely use them, and it was great to receive something made with fabric in the mail. By the way, my MUM is a quilter too, her main passion, alongside buttons, so it was like getting something from her in the mail!
Response: So glad you like them. And what a nice thing to say re your mum:) Thanks for the rating & heart too, another great swap:)
Comment: Thank you so much for the quilt block. I like looking at stars at night and I enjoy star fabric. The name of the quilt block fits the fabric so well. I also enjoyed the note that you sent with the quilt block.
Response: Glad you like the block. It is a fave of mine. Thanks for rating & the heart:)
Comment: that little bag is so cute, and the goodies were nice too! my husband and daughter both loved the fabrics you used on the bag. thank you dear and Yes, I do think of you often and wonder how you are doing these days!
Response: Thanks to people like you I'm getting thru' Thanks for rating & heart. I love these swaps:)
Comment: I absolutely love my kookaburra and my ring tail opossum! The kookaburra is really special, because when I was growing up I learned the old kookaburra song while in campfire girls. I'm glad you are aware of that song too. We used to sing "Waltzing Matilda"....and I believe that is a song from Australia too.
Response: How cool! I was going to send the words to that song but they're pointless without the tune. I'm so glad you know it:) Thanks for the rating and heart:)
Comment: Thanks for pushing yourself and finishing this swap. It's good that you have a pair of daughters to help you through the rough holiday period. I'm sure they share your feelings and, actually I think the yellow tree is symbolic but I wouldn't presume to guess how.
Response: Thanks June, and for rating & heart too. As I said, it was a very "challenging" swap:)
Comment: Hi Glyns,
Your intriguing parcel arrived today, thank so much. You pakaged everything beautifully. By now you would have found mine was more of a lucky dip because I didn't want to mark the wrapping.
Response: So glad it arrived safely. Still got 2 to send to you (still working on them). I love your "wrapping paper.":)
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful square and recipe! It was so thoughtful. You might not remember, but you sent me a quilt square in an earlier swap with some of the same yellow fabrics. I love it!! Thank you, again.
Response: Well of course that was deliberate:) No, didn't remember but so happy it worked out that way. Thanks for rating & heart. I love these swaps:)
Comment: Symbolism, how interesting. Got confused at first with the coloring. That was fabric you used right? Thanks for sharing, things always work out the way they were intended to.
Response: Sorry for confusion, Diane, yes it was all done in fabric but not put together as a quilt. I'm thinking of making these blocks into a quilt to remember this year by. Thank you for the rating:)
Comment: Thanks for all the stamps! Yes there is a good way to soak them off the paper. To make sure they're not sticky soak until they are released on their own from the paper. For self-adhesive stamps you just need to make sure when peeling off that the sticky film comes off--if soaked long enough this should come off in one piece. As for the curling, place between 2 smooth cloths, and place something heavy on top overnight.
Response: Glad you like the stamps. Thanks for both the info and the rating with heart:)
Comment: Thanks & Wow! You over did it on this swap. I am amazed at what you shipped, the postage had to kill you! You deserve more than one heart! Then the bonus of Australian Girl Guide badges is more than awesome! I can't wait to share with my scouts. I may use some in a presentation I have in a world geography class. You rocked this one! And my first ever souvenir from Australia, a keychain! Thanks again!
Response: Yeah, postage sucks. But I don't do swaps like this often:) So glad you're happy with it. Thanks for rating & heart.
Comment: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! Run round in tiny circles. It is seldom I use an exclamation mark but!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing package. You are so kind. I am totally blown away with your generocity. Thank you very much.
And as for the calico with the blue bars, I have an idea but have to think it out. It may return to you.
Response: So glad you're happy with it:) What a great swap. I hope your idea will work both ways:) Thanks for the rating & heart.
Comment: Thanks so much for the beautiful tea towel! Regardless of your beginners status, it's fabulous! Also, thanks so much for the floss...I've never before tried Anchor, so I'm excited to give it a go :)
Response: I'm glad you like it. I loved the feel of the tea towel whilst I was working on it. Have fun with the floss and thanks for the rating & heart:)
Comment: Thank you SO much for the beautiful bags. What a surprise it was to receive TWO of them! I've already put them into service at the grocery store, and they work great and look nice too. Thank you for sharing your sewing talent with me. :-)
Response: It was such an easy swap but it reminded me what I could sew. Thanks, and for rating/heart:)
Comment: Thanks so much for a great end to this swap! lovely block and i love the calendar... thanks for being a great hostess over the past year... let me know if you host any more .... all the best in 2010
Response: Am glad you enjoyed the swap, I too received some lovely blocks. Thinking cap on for next year:) Thanks for rating & heart.
Comment: I love that you got the idea from my profile! It is great and I hung it up right away to remind me of summer time. Here it is getting colder each day and winter is fast approaching, so no trips to the beach for me until next year!
Also, your hand quilting was very nice!
Thanks and happy swapping!
Response: So glad you like it. It's summer here temps of 30+ (approx 90's for you) all this week:( Thanks for the rating & heart.
Comment: Thank you so much for the TWO prim stitcheries. I'm not sure if I'll put them in the Christmas quilt I'm making or frame them separately. I'll let you know later and try to email a picture of them. Thanks again not only for the stitchery, but for hosting this swap.
Response: So glad you like them. They were fun to do:) Thanks for rating & heart too.
Comment: We must be on the same wave length.....you'll see what I mean when Michelle gets her block...lol...Thanks so much. Yummmm......now I need to send Bill (DP) out to get ice cream. And I was doing so well on my diet.......oh well, we only live once. carriel
Response: Mmm, I got a craving for icecream whilst making your block. Thanks for rating & heart. See you in next swap!
Comment: OMG!!! Lovely block! you do such beautiful work. Did you learn to do applique all by your self? I'm thinking I either need to take a class or get a new sewing machine. Anyway I loved the block and would be willing to do a round two next month if your up for it. Let me know
Response: So gload you like it. Did a class for quilt called Touch of Magic and learnt this freeform applique there. My Janome is 27 yrs old, it's just a zigzag stitch back & forth a few times. Round 2 July? You bet. Thanks for rating & heart:)
Comment: I absolutely love it!!! I love the colors and love at how well made. This is definitely one of the bags I will use to tote my take along cross stitching projects to the docs or in the car! 100 more hearts. Posting to my blog today!
Response: Am so glad you love it. Showed it to a friend b4 sending and she thought it a bit bright:( I loved choosing the colours and was bit disappointed. But you're the most important opinion! Thanks for that and heart too:)
Comment: Hello Glenys,
WOW! Orange is probably not a color I would probably use either, but if I was handed the beautiful orange fabric you sent me, I would become an orange lover real fast! Thank you so much for the beautiful piece of fabric you sent me and know that it will have a prominent place in the quilt I am going to make with only the fabrics I am receiving from the Fabric Divas monthly fabric swap. Also, any embellishments I receive as well will be added to the quilt too. I hope we have more opportunities to swap with one another. Thank you again for such a beautiful fabric.
Response: I agree, I like how this swap makes you look at colours you normally wouldn't. Glad you like my choice:)
Comment: Its so cute!! Thank you! I especially like how the apple just seems to pop on that bright yellow!! (and my youngest liked it too "APOO!! APOO!!" Now I just have to figure out where she hauled it off too! LOL
Response: I'm doing another apple so GD & GS both have alphabet quilt. Will have to keep them hidden or lose them too! Thanks for heart
Comment: Just know that recieving your swap made my day today!!! I so loved the fabric choice! And the magazine...It's the first time I've ever recieved one. To top it off, its on quilting which I am a novice at and need all the info possible, since I cant afford to take quilting classes at the time. I know you paid more in postage but if you knew how happy this pkg made me, you'ld see it was well worth it. Thanx again.
Response: I do see it was worth the cost:) I loooooove those mags, you learn so much from them. You have Fons & Porter in USA. I've only found their seasonal mags eg. baby quilts - summer '08. They too are great mags. There's a mag swap on swap-bot - check it out. I went in #1 but #2 is US only. Thanks again for another heart. Happy swapping!
Comment: OMG!! OMG!! So lved it all!!! Wow, will I ever be able to do applique like you have? The blocks are beautiful. I love this swap! Thanx so much. I wish I could give you more hearts!!!
Response: That's sooo nice of you. I use colouring books for ideas and just raw edge zigzag back & forth 3 times all the way round. Sometimes I only use black thread for the outline look. Try it, it's not as hard as it looks. Thank you for the heart:)
Comment: I LOVE IT!!! I've been collecting all my swap blocks in hopes of making a throw quilt for my couch... but I think this is definatly going to be used in table runner for next year!!! It will make a GREAT focal block!! Thank you Thank you!!
Response: I am soo glad you like it. I too love table runners. Happy New Year and thanks for heart:)
Comment: WOW! I really appreciate your taking the time to read my profile and put together such a customized targeted package. I love every single piece that you sent, and immediately included all of them into my current project.
Response: Happy to be of service, but isn't that what profiles are for ?LOL Thanks for heart.
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful baby clothes all the way from Australia! They're so well-made, I really love them and Artie looks very cute wearing them :-) A really lovely swap! Caroline x
Response: Thanks for heart Caroline. Glad you like them and they fit Artie. That's always a worry, sizing is diff everywhere:)
Comment: The fishies were so cute, thanks. They made me giggle and they went straight on the fridge. I couldn't for the life of me work out what was in the little package I received and I was very pleased when I opened it! :)
Comment: Wow what a fantastic swap.. I love the fabrics. The two christmas fabrics, the lovely sewing theme fabric, and blue japanese fabric..they were all so wonderful. The best part of this swap was the awesome key chain. Thank you for being so thoughtful :)
Comment: This swap could not have come on a better day. I got it today and tonight my daughter flies up to Juniors. These are soooo cool and there are so many! WOW! We decided to put them in a special scrapbook and now she wants to keep collecting so I'll be doing another swap in the future.
