Comment: Thanks for the pc's ! Where did you find the black and white washi stickers? I need more ! HAHA.
Response: Unfortunately I don't remember what they are called. Although I can say they are from Amazon, and they were just part of a set that included color floral stickers as well. I know none of that is helpful, like a needle in a haystack.
Comment: Thank you for the sweet note. I would recommend leaving the address part out. Just sign names, dates, and a little hello on message side. Then you can send a message to the sender on SB if you’d like to write!! What do you think?????
Comment: I loved getting this swap...everything about it made me smile 😀😀😀 Even the notebook paper - did you make that? So cool! And I'm with you 100% on Hawaii - I lived there for a short time in the 70's too and always wish I'd never left. Thanks for the great Happy Mail!
Response: I don't remember which notebook paper it was, but chances are it is something I made/printed. Was it the one with the stamps? If so, I got that idea from a friend of mine, and I just temporarily adhered stamps around plain printer paper, then "photo copied" it onto notebook paper. Got to have my lines to write 💌 It was something else, let me know.
Comment: What a cool way to write a letter. You have a lot of patience!!! There's a store in my area called the Bin Store that sounds just like your Retail Rebel. Both my girls have been to it, but not me. Thanks for the stickers.
Comment: thanks for the swap! I love all the goodies you sent esp the little passport size notebook. I have been looking for something like that to do a scrapbook of my trip to hawaii and that is PERFECT. even the cover! not sure if it was something that you are passing on, or that you made yourself, but thank you!
Response: I'm glad you like it. I was just trying to make some new things, with things I already had. Extra lined paper is probably something I will never run out of!
Comment: Carrii! What is this cool postcard-sized swap card with all the cool lettering?! Wow! That's really cool! Thank you for the two additional postcards for me. I definitely love the "Thinking of You" floral heart postcard. 😍 I'll forward the other two next round! ... Karla, 3/9/22
Comment: What a clever little bunch of envelopes, which I am sure you crafted yourself. They are adorable! The notepaper in the notecard was clevere too! I love the bookmark and the personalized name stickers! Best to you!
Comment: Thank you so much for the nice notecard and all the really cool extras! The sealed notecard is so nice, I'm afraid to use it in case I accidentally mess it up hahaha. The note also brought a big smile to my face, and your hand lettering on the envelope was very pretty. Thank you!!!!
Comment: Thank you for the postcard! I went to the Caymans with my best friend back in 2019, and it's even prettier than the pictures! I definitely recommend the trip if you ever get a chance. The scuba and snorkeling are amazing, and there are a ton of human tame Sting Rays that come up to you and let you pet and hold them! Hope you're having a great Feburary!
Comment: I finally received the second swap you sent. Thank you so much. It's really wonderful. I love it all but I must say I absolutely love the stationary. Would you let me know where you got it. I would love to get some more. Again thank you funstuff doris
Response: Unfortunately I have a LOT of stationery, and also a terrible memory. If you will send me a message and describe it, I should be able to let you know. I'm glad you like it.
Comment: Oh Carrii! I'm so happy you rejoined this swap series! I love your note and absolutely adore everything you sent! You certainly found some gems and I truly appreciate your sharing some with me! If you are ever in the mood to do a private swap, please let me know and I would be happy to set one up. Meanwhile, thanks for making my day with this wonderful assortment of stationery! Take care! XO Dana
Comment: Thanks for the extra postcard and bookmark. Those are really cool postcards that you are passing on. I will be sure and send them on in the next round. It is my first round so I hope I eventually get my own back.
Comment: Going to send one home and the other out in a future round. Thanks for the extra postcard. Fourteen postcards - WOW! Pretty sure I’ve never had that many. And I do enjoy the swap. Thanks for hosting.
Response: I'm not sure how I got that many in one round, but it was definitely a first for me, and then on this last round I didn't even have 3 to send and had to do starter cards!! I guess I could have saved some of those over, but I'd rather keep 'em moving.
Comment: Tank you so much Dear ! The card you sent is lovely! I also love taking the train however I mostly take the air plane because I love going to other countries around- since Covid happened we only did shorter Roadtrips ! Mostly to north italy ☺️
Comment: Received and will send out in a future round. Thanks for the extra postcard. And you've given me inspiration on using envelopes that are too small for postcards.
Response: I was out of regular envelopes that were big enough for PCs, especially some of the oversize ones, and it was like a lightbulb went off. I'm finally able to use up some of my teeny-tiny envelopes that are too small for letters (because I can't write a short letter to save my life)!
Comment: Thank you! I find old graveyards really interesting, but this one does seem very staged and touristy. I went to an old, deserted Klondike goldrush cemetery in Alaska. It was creepy, and I was the only one there, but I did find a few graves of people that were in a documentary I had watched.
Response: That sounds interesting. I recently went to Amana Iowa and they have an Inspirationist cemetery where all the headstones match and everyone is buried chronologically, to show how they value everyone equally.
Comment: Thank you for the VERY uninteresting postcard. Who the heck would even thing of printing a postcard like that??????? It did give me a good laugh once I figured out what it was! Ok . . . I'm still laughing!
9/7/21 - It was the postcard with the urinary body parts labeled in French. I only laugh because I can't figure out why this would be on a postcard. Not your normal pretty picture or touristy pc, which does make it uninteresting, so the pc matches the swap perfectly! :)
Response: Uh-oh, now I can't even remember which I chose for you, but based on your response I would really love a reminder.
Comment: Interesting books on this postcard! I have never seen a pc with a Rhode Island military regiment -- thank you! My husband sells toy soldiers, so I will show it to him and see if he's ever run across one of these guys, hah.
Comment: buying a RV and traveling the USA with my dogs is on my list if I ever win the lottery. not sure if my oldest chihuahua Milo would be a good traveler in a camper as he is a pain in the butt in a car. happy swapping!
Comment: Hey there Carrii ! Finally get a swap from you. Yay ! Thank you for the Bear river in Utah PC. Sorry you didn't like this. But I do and I love the scenery. Thank you for sending it to me. I esp. love the mountains!
Comment: Thank you Carii for the fun set of playing cards. Little ones are especially to and I will use them in my junk Journal. The other ones we'll go to the creation of myFranken deck. Sincerely, Alma
Comment: Thank you for the little extras :)
It does say in the instructions this time to quote from the book you are reading, thank you for including it. The last sentence sounds like there will be another book.
Comment: Hi Carrii
Hi ,Just received your most welcome letter today!! I think it's been all over ,the envelope was muddy ,ripped and torn and the post office had put it in a plastic delivery bag.
Thank you for the hearts will reply soon .
Response: Oh dear, better late(and muddy) than never I suppose. I'll have to make sure to use nice sturdy envelopes next time.
Comment: Thank you for a great letter!! Glad you enjoyed the prompts, I think I'll put them in with every penpal swap since it helps me too:) PS we are moving the Hot Springs this summer!! Can't wait!!
Comment: I love the way you stamped your address and my address on the envelope! Thank you for sharing about yourself! I, too, love love receiving international happy mail and collecting foreign stamps :)
Response: I thought this one was going to be more difficult, but it ended up being kinda fun!
Comment: Thank you Carrii!! Great selection of cards and I love the stamps on the envelope and the caligraphy address!! Wish I could master that!! The extra papers you sent are awesome!! Thank you again for everything!! <3 <3
Response: Thanks for rating, but I have to confess, I address my envelopes with a machine. I wish I could do it, but when I try it looks like a fifth grader got ahold of their mom's calligraphy pens.
Comment: Thank you for the great playing cards. I have done several series of playing card swaps so I have a couple of Frankendecks. I have been using about a dozen different decks for the swaps. It's like a never-ending cycle. :)
Comment: You had me at your postage stamp. LOVE!!! I have the same ones. Recycled..natural, love them both. The envelope!!Beautiful! I don't get how they could not make out my address. On the Scooby-Doo valentine card, I am LOLing "Relp" I believe it means "help" The puppy stickers. I think it is so sweet how you pointed out the GSD. I love the parchment paper cut-outs and glitter hearts. You are by far an awesome swapper!! Thank you so much. Thank you for resending. It shows character.
Comment: Thank you so much for your awesome letter! I really enjoyed reading it. If I set a goal of using 75 % of my paper goods and/or my fabrics I would have to live to be 150 or more. I planned to set up my machine this week and sew something and the little statement mats will be awesome to get me started. I haven't sewn a stitch since my best friend passed away in December. She taught me to quilt and I'm sure she wants me to get on with it. Thanks again. Have a wonderful day!
Comment: Thank you for the great cards Carrii!! The Christmas one is my favorite, followed closely by the emojis...however...the mini UNO cards are amazing!! Never have seen them!! Thanks again!! <3 <3
Comment: Thank you for the postcard. You can mail postcards like this. Sometimes they require extra postage and can be considered non machinable. I have clear envelopes that also work well with things like this.
Response: I mailed one to my Aunt and she said it made it to her safe and sound - I used a regular first class stamp just in case. So the test run went well, but she is just across town, so hard to say. I may send out a few more "test runs" just for fun.
Comment: Aw thanks so much for the birthday wishes <3 I dig Scooby-Doo :) I hope your training goes well and you place just when/where you want! Hahaha I love the idea of your nobility in finishing last.
Comment: I will be passing both the card and the "little" letter on to the next round. Thank you. By the way...love how you stamped my name and address on the envie. Or is that with a printer?
Response: I use a Cricut Maker to draw/write on the envelopes. So its tidy like a printer, but then I just use regular pens. I bought the machine to cut fabric pieces, but since I found swap-bot (and with a little help from YouTube) I've been using it to make cards and "address" envelopes and postcards. It's kinda slow but its fun to make the mail look a little fancy.
Comment: I live about 30 miles from the Blue Water Bridge that spans the US and Canada. We haven't been over there in several years and now with the pandemic, the border is closed and only essential traffic is allowed.
Comment: Hi Carrii, thank you so much for the lovely letter and postcards. I enjoyed them all very much! I hope you're able to go on the trips you've been looking forward to going on. You're actually fortunate that you don't live in Southern CA with all the problems they're having there with the pandemic and the homeless issues! Haven't started the online teaching yet, but hope to by this summer. All the best!
Comment: Hi Carrii ~ Thanks so much for the awesome selection of stamps! I didn't have so many of them. Love the First Moon Landing, 8 cent Eisenhower, pretty Queen Elizabeth pink & green stamps, 1 cent Jefferson stamp and the Halloween one! Really like all of them, you were so generous! Postage stamps are like miniature art pieces from a museum! Thanks so very much! Hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day ~ take care, Judy
Comment: Hello again
I loved your letter
Yes, I sign up for the pen pal swaps alot....I want to meet new pen pal friends
I love the swapping but never thought much of the time involved... but I usually do swaps for a few months, then I take a break, then I swap again... lol
Thank you for the book marks, I will certainly enjoy them :)
Have a great day
Comment: Love this swap! Thanks for the unique card, pretty stamps & fun message. I just ordered valentines for my son’s class (they have to be sent to school 15 days in advance to be quarantined). Thanks again & best wishes.
Comment: I LOVE the way you made this pc! The lovely painted look and the blending and flow are amazing! I'm so impressed! I really, really love it and will be messaging you to inquire how you created this effect! Thank you for one of my favorite hmpc's!
Comment: Thank you for the church pc. Funny . . . when I looked at it I thought it was one of the churches in the town where my husband grew up in Montana. So, yes it is uninteresting if it looks like every other church. :)
Comment: Hi Carri. It arrived safely and I will be passing it on in swap #15 (I will take good care of her...hehe). I liked your cute little note. I think that I will start doing that too. Also I am in a swap where I need to send a painting so I will be painting the lovely squirrel picture that you included with the notecard. Going to affix it to cardboard.
Comment: Reading your letter was like reading the letter I sent to my swap partner! I have a similar complaint about Postcrossing except mine was RUSSIAN addresses. They take forever to receive and I'm so impatient. Long live Franki Valli :)
Response: I think I'm going to try sending some more cards on post crossing, and hope I get some different countries. The last one I got was from Latvia so that was cool.
Comment: Carrii, Thank you for your card. I've found that it's easier to use an old fashioned die cut machine rather than my Cricut to cut card stock. I haven't practiced much with the Cricut. I think your card turned out beautifully.
Response: Thank you, I am determined to figure it out!
Comment: Hi! I'm so happy to hear that you've planted more rose bushes! I'm terrible at keeping anything alive lol, but we've planted mini peppers and they're in our enclosed porch and they've been thriving! I hope that they sprout fruit in the spring/summer time. I know the roses will be beautiful! I'm so curious as to why you call them "Ketchup and Mustard." That's so cute! Stay safe and healthy!
Response: That's their real name!! I wish I could share a picture on here, but I don't know how, just google "Ketchup and Mustard Roses" and you will see why they are called that, they are amazing!
Comment: Well this was such fun mail, I would absolutely love to be pen-friends?! I’m mailing you an intro letter tomorrow and if you feel like keeping up I’d love to hear back from you. No matter what, happy 2021 from Carlisle! 😁💠
Comment: Thank you for the cards - I'll keep them going. And since I picked yours up before I mailed out this round, I added your new card to this round since you mentioned wishing the rounds were faster! :) Good luck on using your stash!
Comment: Hi Carrii! Thanks for the share about your weekend - that is so cool that you figured out how to use regular pens with your circut maker! I loved the "writing" on the envie! Well the pc might not really be my cup of tea but it is interesting, so of course I have to love it! LOL! I have a paper addiction as well - sigh! All the best on making a dent in your stash! Hugs, Happy New Year, and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: Such a cool chunk idea....art from a textbook! Seriously, that's good stuff. I really appreciate you sharing that with me! Did you hand letter the "Post Card" lettering at the top, or was that a stamp. Either way, it was really well done. Best, Rick
Response: Well, if I'm honest, I was going to the shelf to find an old Algebra text book to cut pages out of, so it was lucky I saw the History one instead, and since the back was damaged I didn't feel bad taking it apart. I can't take credit for the lettering, I have a machine with some cool fonts, and I can put pens in it, so I just put a cool pen in it and let it write the top for me. I wish I could hand letter, but when I try it always looks like a child did it and I don't have the time/patience to practice. Thanks
Comment: Thank you SO much for the super cute stationary!! I love the extras too! The playing cards are so fun and I haven't ever seen any like the ones you sent me so they will be awesome for my collection :) Btw, I enjoyed your letter too...I have had my Cricut for almost 2 years and I didn't know what a "Snapmat" feature was so thank you for giving me something to discover :)
Response: I never noticed SnapMat it on my computer, but I use it on my iPad all the time. One I'm done "designing" and I tap "Make It" and it goes to the screen with the list of mats you will need for the project - thats where I find it.
Comment: Love the card! I don't LOVE spiders, used to be terrified of them, but am teaching myself that they are just little creatures trying to live too :)
Response: If I found spiders in my house, I used to catch them and put them outside, but I've figured out that we usually get a new giant spider in our basement every year, we call him Pete (named after Peter Parker) and if we leave him alone, we don't tend to have many/any others. I don't know what kind of spider he is, and he usually keeps to himself, but every once in a while he will shake out of some dirty laundry I'm getting ready to put in the washer, and it still makes me jump.
Comment: First- I love the way you wrote? Stenciled? The swap name and my name and address! So I would say this postcard is a bit of both. Interesting because it has 6 pictures in 1, but interesting because all the pictures are of a woman cleaning (which is my absolute least favorite thing to do)!
Response: I have a Cricut Maker that I barely know how to use even though I've had it for months - I've been using it to address things, since I've learned how to put a regular pen in it, and not their expensive pens. Thanks for noticing.
Comment: Hi Carrii!
I received your lovely postcard. Thank you so much! Congratulations on getting your shot, and thank you for all that you do as a health care professional! Here's to a much better 2021!
Comment: Thank you for the History book chunk. Very cool! I like how you put the description of the painting on the back. What a creative idea. I have some books I could do this with too. Thanks for the inspiration! Happy New Year !
Comment: Well I loved the postcard. The picture like you said could have been better😀
Sgt York is my very favorite black and white movie with Gary Cooper. It’s amazing what that man did in WW1. Highly recommend watching it if you have never seen it.
Response: I haven't seen it, but its on my list. Glad you liked it.
Comment: Your PC is definitely a testament that one woman's boring card is a treasure to another woman! I loved this card and thought it was very cool!! I like cards that show different items laid out as they are in the card you sent me. This is actually a favorite PC of mine now!
All the best in 2021,
Response: That's true! I've really liked several of the "uninteresting" cards I've gotten!
Comment: So sorry for the delay in rating. I recently came across your swap in a bag of mail while cleaning out the hall closet.
Thank you for the adorable card. Excellent choice for the cardboard. It looks adorable.
Comment: thank you for the lovely card. I had no idea a cricut could do that. My friend just got one. I knew there was alot you had to pay for. I hope you get the ins and out of the machine soon. Practice for everything. Happy new year
Comment: Hi! I just safely received your mail! Thank you so much for all the extra little goodies! I love them all<33
I hope you had a lovely Christmas and hope to do more swapping with you in the future! x
Response: Great, its been so long since I sent it, I was a little worried.
Comment: Thank you so much for sharing your weekend with me. I don't think I could ever be that brave. My brother is MR. Fix-it Man. Many years ago he dismantled the bathroom at his house and every time they would decide on design/colors they would change their minds. My S-I-L was pregnant at the time. When their son was 22 they had a Christmas party and he was the greeter. He told everybody as they walked in, "Go look at the bathroom! It's finally finished!!!! LOL! Have a Very Merry Christmas!
Response: OMG I'm worried that will be us. We had big plans to get more done maybe even finish it last weekend, and then my husband hurt his back! - Not bad but enough to where we couldn't get any work done - and he works this weekend, and next weekend is the holiday, and the next weekend he works......
Comment: Thanks for sharing your answer. I do agree the question is biased. It depends on how people are using their technology. For example, my students enjoy playing Kahoot to review. Thanks for the papers. Love your stationary!
Comment: Your note cracked me up. I really do enjoy everything I receive. The butterfly card was so unique. My favorite thng had to be the cool postcards though. And when I saw the stationary and envelope I was like "Thats such a cute snail". I dint think "snail mail" until like just now. LOL
Response: I think that is one of my favorite bits of stationery I've found!
Comment: that sure sounds like a lot of drama going on there between the pages > hope it is a great little escape for you with valuable lessons from the past! yes, swap-bot + books have truly helped us make use of our extra leisure time ... have a lovely farewell to the year & best wishes moving ahead to a better 2021!
Comment: Thank you for the great dandelion card! Our yard gets it's (more than) fair share of dandelions. I hate using chemicals in my yard, so they mostly thrive. There was a time when I tried to dig them out, one by one. But who has time for that mess? :)
Comment: Love the vintage movie postcard. :) We are having our second Thanksgiving this weekend. My stepson and his wife weren't able to be with the family this year so we are going to have an encore!!
Comment: Thanks for the cards. The only one I already had was the casino card. e are getting our first real snow here today. They are saying 4 to 6 inches by tomorrow morning. Sounds to me like enough to justify snowshoes!
Comment: Ha ha ha!! Your comment about the postcard made me laugh out loud. I agree, definitely not interesting. The only thing I could say that's interesting about is that I have NEVER seen anything else like it. lol
Comment: Thank you for the funny notecard and message. I can see why you are excited about your Amazon find! What a wonderful gift for you and your family! I have a box of pictures that were my mother-in-law's that I'm suppose to be scanning for other family members. I'd love to put them in a Shutterfly book for everyone, but don't know that I'll have time before Christmas. She had a May birthday so maybe I can shoot for next May. Good luck!
Comment: THANK you for the wonderful postcards! I used the cute vintage Christmas one today! I loved the jokes. I was taking my son to the dermatologist when I got your letter. They actually made him crack a smile. A huge feat for a teen. THANKS
Comment: Thank you for the cute card! I completely agree, this year needs as much extra celebrating as possible. So much of the usual is out so we have to do what we can. Hope you have a great holiday season!
Response: Thanks, I hope you have a great holiday season too.
Comment: Haha I loved the "mate in captivity" card. It really made me laugh. This is crazy, just the day before my daughter and I were talking about finding something that can transfer our old VHS tapes! I looked on amazon and found it. I think thats what we are going to do for Christmas too! Thanks not only for the wonderful letter and the information; but finding a solution to a problem you didn't even know I had. :)
Comment: I loved the lines of your book, so I read the synposis..not for me. But powerful first line.
Response: That's funny. I usually try not to read even the synopsis before starting a book, I always feel like they are spoilers. I usually just pick one up that looks interesting and give it a shot. My brother used to tease me that I literally judge a book by its cover. Except I'm only judging whether or not I want to read it, not if its good or bad.
Comment: We have such similar things!. Die Hard - i never realized that yes it is a Christmas Movie and now i cannot wait to watch it. My all time favorite movie is Christmas Vacation and i love the freak out part!! There is nothing like the smell of that fresh pine! Thanks for joining the swap. Have a great Christmas!
Response: If you can believe it, I'm 39 and saw Die Hard for the very first time (from beginning to end) last Christmas, and not only do I firmly believe it is a Christmas Movie - but it is now one of my annual Christmas traditions.
Comment: Dear Carrii, thank you so much for the wonderful mail and your moving and funny memory as well. That same evening I received your mail, my daughter (14 yrs old) told me she was going to order a pair of roller skates! So I told her about your letter and she loved it too! Hers are pink! It is a pity we don't have indoor skating rinks (only for ice skating...).
Response: I still have skates! They are so much fun I don't know why they aren't more popular. I need to take them to the local bike trail before it gets too cold.
Comment: Love these fun little swaps and really enjoyed your card!!!!
Planning on checking out "Derek" now!! Had no idea he had a show. I love Ricky!! :p
Response: Well I can warn you that Kev is not for everyone, but I've watched that show all the way through several times, and it never fails to make me laugh (and cry). His show AfterLife is pretty good too.
Comment: Chunk of cardboard in any homemade PC Are my favorite swaps🤪 I loved your PC Working for hospice is very fulfilling job and as hard as it can be I do so love it! Thank you for you cool puppy dog Chunk-O-Cardboard ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Comment: Hi Carrii ! Thank you for the printed Thanksgiving card & 3 postcard. Which are really great & love! But you forgot to put name of swap on card & I had to go searching to find which one you were in. Happy Thanksgiving!
Response: Awe man, I had a feeling I missed one after I sealed them all up.
Comment: Out in Michigan, we had black squirrels too. Also huge red ones and regular gray ones. Here in PA, we have small red squirrels and grey squirrels. Saw a few black ones but not in my area. Thanks for a cute Christmas card. It will be decorating my wall the day after Thanksgiving.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely letter! I love reading about others! I hope you get to go to Grandma's for Christmas this year! Being a grandma myself, I cant imagine Christmas without my little guy!
Comment: Hi Carrii,
Thank you so much for this awesome Lighthouse postcard. It's absolutely beautiful! I'm with you, mine has not been 100% but the good news is my mailman is back to delivering my mail before 5pm. I'm keeping my finger cross that the schedule will stick because I used to check my mail around 9pm.
