Somewhere along the line them getting here, a postal machine sheared the top of the envelope right off, along with all 3 postcards. Thanks to them, I can't use them. I am so disappointed & they didn't even bother to put them in a baggy, saying how sorry they were !

Comment: A shame you never got to visit the DC pandas. San Diego just sent the last two back and I'll admit, I cried like a loved one was moving away. I've visited them since '96 and now I really don't know what to do with myself at the zoo now.

Comment: Thank you for the Savannah, GA card. I spent a day there in 2012 and it was a great place to visit. We took the trolley all the way around its route once. Then on 2nd round we got off at the places we wanted to see closer as trolley tickets were good for all day.

Last year we rented a cabana and did a day at the water park and it was awesome! I’m sure you’ve probably traveled close to Hedgesville as well as Berkeley Springs on you travels.

I love the pretty rainbow L sticker and the other ones, too. I had the same answer for hidden - love letters! Did you get some spring yet? We still have tons of snow on the ground, but some spring things are popping up. I haven't seen a robin yet, but it's been a bit warmer. Anyway, thanks!

Response: Not real, as in you can't spend it! (Plus they use Euros in Germany now) It's a reproduction -- I found a whole pad of them at a junk store -- like a notepad. Not sure what their original purpose was.

Comment: What a gorgeous Vogue cover card, I really love it! It's a great luck that the huge amount of Pink (ink, stamp, front) suggested which swap it was, otherwise I should have sit over the card for a while figuring out which swap was it :D Also, that Harvey Milk stamp so cool, there was a costume party a few years ago, we had to dress from a film that was at least nominated for Oscar, and I wanted a gay character with moustache, so I was Scott Smith's character from the MIlk film. That was the first time I heard about Milk Harvey

Showed my boyfriend around. He'd never been there. Had a great time. He loved the casino! That wasn't there when I lived there. I lived in Oakland after school then by the airport before I moved here in NC 36 yrs ago. Hope you like it there. Different from California!

I have been working on finishing a junk journal with childrens stories/ gpfairy tales as the theme, and there were some awesome bits in the envie you sent that will go just perfectly there. I also collect old playing cards and was thrilled to find one of those to add to my collection. The envie was just as cute as it could be, and the vintage stamps were the perfect finishing touch! Response: that's weird! the other stamp must have fallen off. I was using up all stamps, and adding 6 cents to 29 cents. Though I suppose it's possibe that I missed one and it only had 6 cents! if so, then thank you to the post office! :)

My cats still think they can stand on my shoulders, but NOPE, doesn't work out very well. They do sleep on them when I'm in bed though, which is perfectly fine.

I grew up in Los Angeles and some of the images on your card are some of my favorite things about the state. I too, don't miss the expensive lifestyle or the traffic, ugh! Comment: Thank you for the great postcards Al! I loved the 'special delivery' paper around them too! You sealed it with a 92.9 sticker - did you know we also have a 92.9 radio station here in Perth? The note was also very quirky and I liked the 'Yellow Cab' note paper you used. My favourite postcard was the Island Houses artwork card ("Greetings from St Martin")... but I really did like them all. Thanks again!

My daughter and her family live in San Francisco so I see that sight 3-4 times a year. . . it's really beautiful. I like the touch of tissue wrap, the de la Renta postage and that terrific Butternut squash sticker! How have I not seen those at Whole Foods - I'm always on the lookout for odd stickers!
Response: we have a shop in town called Creative Reuse that is like a thift shop for arts and crafts supplies. Companies are encouraged to donate stuff rather than throw it away. Whole Foods dumps loads of rolls of stickers there, as do hospitals, so I always have a bunch of random stickers. :)

Comment: Thank you for the stunning Civil War-era day dress -- I noticed that the card is from the Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity exhibition's stop in Chicago; I *loved* that exhibit at the Met Museum! As a music student, I always loved exploring the context and other influences of an era that bred a certain style of music, so it was a real treat to see the preserved (those tiny waists!) fashion, corsets, hats, and other accessories next to the works they inspired. I also really appreciate the Grace Kelly and Freedom to Speak out postage, ladybug stickers, and your take on the outfit; I imagine the woman wearing it wouldn't have had to have gotten dirty :) I am a sucker for bold black-and-white clothes! Happy weekend :)
Response: LOL, you have a better connection than me, having seen the exhibit. (And I'm jealous -- I love fashion, fabrics, etc.) I just found that book of postcards in a thrift shop somewhere. A couple of years ago, I did one month wearing only black and white and gray. Colors I have a lot of, but it was sort of boring after a while. I cannot wear white -- I am a instant magnet for dirt, mustard, etc.

Comment: Thank you for the très chic 1920s lady, awesome vintage stamps, and whimsical stickers (I smiled to see the Pennsylvania one because it reminded me of one of my favorite musicals, Fun Home :) I miss getting dressed up more often -- in college, for master class and noon-time recitals, we were expected to dress up, but there are fewer occasions to perform/dress up nowadays, and I like the ritual/preparation as much as I enjoy dressing down at the end of the day and slipping into my robe, haha. Black jeans do sound chic in their own way :)

Response: no worries about the "ban." I have since read more FAQs and understand the quite reasonable banning practice. I had just signed up, and that banning email was the very first message I received, so it was a bit of a "what?" haha. I am happy the lighthouse card found it way to a good home. :) Best, Al
