Comment: Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your books! I've encountered a few of the Audible Originals like you described, and it was so disappointing. I found one by/about David Tennent (love him!) and was so excited, but then it sounded more like someone recorded a conversation with him from their cell phone - in their pocket! It made no sense and was just disappointing. So I do understand that feeling.
But with 2 'bad' ones out of the way, the rest of the year will be better, right? :) Here's hoping!
Comment: Sorry for the late rate thanks for your patience! Wow, wow-wow1 Totally love the sound of it ... but I'll have to read the 'original' first it seems, & that's already only-started-not-read from an earlier challenge this year ;)
Response: I think you could enjoy the Attwood, even without reading the original so do give it a try!
Comment: I received the envelope filled with gorgeous flowers today! Thank you! And guess what! I finally had a moment to blog your monochrome concert photos. I'll see if I can place the link here in the comments: [Good Vibes](https://iamchandralynn.com/2019/06/10/good-vibes-music-hope-and-monochrome-mayhem/)
Comment: Arrived while I was on holiday, I love the photographs they appear like something found on the internet. I love the photo of the concert hall in iceland that is proper good. The paper feels amazing too. Thank you very much for these ATC's.
Comment: Hi Betty 🙂 Thanks for the postcard. It had me laughing as soon as I saw and read it. Here in Las Vegas we could probably go see a show with acrobats and alligators in it, that's how crazy Vegas is.
Comment: The book looks interesting! That town of Amesbury is just about as far away from where I live that you can get but still be in MA! haha I looked it up on Google maps, and with the lack of direct roads, it would take about 4 hours to drive there! haha Makes this state feel much bigger than it actually is. :) But I might have to look it up! Thanks for the swap :)
Comment: Ah! What a delicious looking dish! I’ll have to give it a shot soon now that I have chickpeas coming out of my ears here at home!
Also, no worries on the tomatoes - I just want to see what people are making for themselves! No need to cater to my weirdness - ha!
Response: Having eaten it for dinner last night, I would definitely cut the chilli powder down to 1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon! But it was delicious -- in the end we had it with rice rather than stuffing a tortilla which worked well.
Comment: This was a very nice collection of photos. I appreciated the written description you gave for each, telling their stories. The cemetery is my favorite photo and I agree, so much better in B&W!
Comment: Hi Betty! Thanks so much for the sweet note and extra goodies! My girls and I love the stickers and postcards you sent. :) I'm kind of afraid to add to your postcard because your photograph is so pretty! I'll do my best though. ;) Cheers!
Comment: WOW!!! Not only is your insight into your list amazing but your actual list is more amazing. I also tried the NO BUYING books but I have to say I FAILED.. My thrift stores in town sell hardbound for $1 to $3 each and I cannot pass that up. Can I also tell you your list has me interested in more books, thank you.
Comment: Hi Betty,
Thank you for the great hummus recipe and the extras. I am delighted to tell you Iwiil be trying thr JEAN'SLION CAKE. I HAVE NEVER WEIGHED EGGS BEFORE SO THIS WILL BE A GREAT NEW THING TO DO.
ENJOY THE DAY1 demaris
Comment: Oh wow, what an email and list! I can see that you're a librarian :) I'm an ex-librarian so I don't need to keep my list in as good order, haha. I can't wait to spend some more time going through your list.
Comment: I'm so glad this has been a helpful experience for you so far. :) And you have such a nice and neatly organize list too! :) The library is difficult for me, too. I take my kids at least once a week and it's so hard to "be good" and not bring home extras! :) I don't like to buy books too often, but I do trade them a lot, and that's been a challenge so far, too. But I think it will be worth it. :) Hopefully it is for you too. Happy reading!
Comment: I absolutely love the postcard, which will probably be stuck to the side of a bookcase for decoration soon. I have never read any of the books you mentioned but now I want to! I love mysteries, especially the older ones, even if they don't play fair :)
Comment: I haven't read this series, but it sounds similar to another one I've read, by Leslie Meiers, I think. The ex-nun protagonist sounds interesting. Some mysteries do not hold up well--I was reading a Rex Stout not long ago and it was so full of racist dialog that I'm embarassed to give it to Goodwill. Thanks for the swap.
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful post card. I loved it. The label you used did come off easily so i could read the story and will be trying the recipe. I always have glace cherries in the cupboard as I can eat them by the handful. Best wishes
Comment: Betty, your tree postcard came in today's mail! You did some intricate cutting on it. I loved the little rabbit by the base of the tree! And thanks for using some unique (to me) stamps on the back - I have never heard of Postman Pat, but I'm guessing he's a mascot like our Mr. Zip. Thank you so much for a nice swap! I hope we get partnered again in the future! Happy 2019!!
Response: Thanks for the rating and for being my partner. Postman Pat is a character from children's TV -- probably anyone who was a pre-schooler or the mother of a pre-schooler in England during the 1980s and 1990s will have the Postman Pat song permanently in their memory! He's a rural postman and in each episode, he and his black and white cat not only deliver the mail but also get involved in other problems -- stopping a runaway train, rescuing , a cat up a tree, fixing the broken ice-cream machine and so on. Interestingly the Royal Mail did use Postman Pat as a mascot for a while as well.
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful and interesting selection of post cards. I have read your profile and see that we have a lot in common. I was brought up in Rugby and read theology and philosophy at Bristol University in the 1960's. An exhilarating time to be a student.
I'm glad that you can remember your Scottish Hogmanay, for many revellers it's a blurred alcohol blurred memory. I hope that you and your family had a good Christmas and that 2019 will be happy peaceful and fulfilling the
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful & enlightening PC of the Detmolds' Crested Crane. I'd love to come across a copy of their bird book! Now I realize that as a child I enjoyed their illustrations for Kipling's Jungle Book in a copy my grandmother gave me.
Comment: Edit 01/06/2019: I loved your package and my big favorite was the Panda RadioTimes! Thank you for a fantastic swap! *** Thank you so much Betty, I will expand my rate later in December ;-) but I loved the real stamps you used and the message on your card was a perfect message from the Universe for a bad day: 'The best is yet to come'! Hugs! ♥♥
Response: Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you liked it -- I thought that Panda Radio Times card was great.
Comment: Thank you very much for the stocking stuffer!, I received the envelope in a body bag from the PO, It was ripped in half and part of envelope in missing!, I hope they didn't lose anything :( Merry Christmas to you and your love ones!!!...11/17/18-- No need to resend, I received a gold wrapped gift, :).. I just didn't want to not thank you for a card or something. Merry Christmas!!!!....01/10/19 Thank you for the bookmarks! they will be put to go use! Happy New Year! Connie
Response: I'm so sorry the post office ate your envelope! Do let me know what you received, in case anything went missing, so I can send again if necessary.
Comment: Betty - Many hearts for the great selection of cards. I am totally in love with the skating of Torvill and Dean. Weren't they wonderful? I love the map card, too. Thank you for a great note explaining each one. Hugs, Joy
Comment: Betttyyy i really got your mail :)) hahah this time it took the way to mee and not back to you - this was the first thing that made me happy :))) i will preapare your tea and enjoy looking one more time on the photos and washis and all beatiful things you send to mee :)) thank youu🎈🎈
Comment: Oh, your chain is so elegant! My daughter wanted a "normal" tree this year, so she declared that only red, green, and white ornaments would be allowed on the Norfolk Island "pine" tree in the main room of the house ... needless to say, the gorgeously red, white and green decoration, so neatly knitted, was perfect! (In rebellion, the remaining family members have created a unicorn, dragon, dinosaur and sparkly rainbow pastel tree in the opposite window of the room, but that's another matter :)
Comment: Thank you! Such an amazing filled postcard!!! I love everything about it; your picture, your writing, the Alice-card, the golden fairy and the zine you created about fairytale stamps. A big fat heart for you â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ Best wishes! groetjes Barbara
Comment: Betty, thank you so much for this wonderful baking book and the pastry brush! The book has so many amazing recipes that I cannot wait to try and the brush is so a high quality one! Thank you so much for putting so much effort into this "small" swap! It definately felt more like a big one! :)
Comment: Thank you Betty for such a beautiful swap. I cannot ever remember receiving anything so beautiful in the mail as your large flower-covered envie - front and back are gorgeous! Wish I could post a pic here for others to see but I don't know how. Anyway, I absolutely love how you saw I loved roses and sent me so many beautiful rose items. It is just so pretty, all of it! Thank you for the time and care you took with this! Love it!
Comment: What a fun idea! I made ink but it was less cool and translucent ... love all the cool artwork and I am glad that you were extra-brave. My favorite was, of course, Sisyphus, and the poem really spoke to me as well. It is the perspective that I am trying to cultivate in myself. Very special -- thanks :)
Comment: I am such a lover of Greek mythology so you couldn't have chosen a better theme for me! Although I had no idea there was a word like
"Sisyphean"!! Although we all maybe identify with that "task" at times. Thank you for the well executed atc and that wonderful collection of postage stamps on the envelope..
Comment: Hi Betty. Gorgeous notecard you sent, amazing colors. Thank you for the added photos, the baby is a little creepy LOL I will take care of the address issue. Yes it's really hot here too, I might have to create in front of a fan =o)
Response: I agree, that baby was definitely creepy!
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful pocket letter! I will try the crossword and the zentangle patterns. The crochet Yorkie is very cute too. The recipes sound delicious, and the salmon looks like it might go with the green beans. The zine is really nice! If I ever go to Birmingham, I will make sure to try the curry:-) Thanks for the very interactive pocket letter!
Comment: Thank you ever so much for all the postcards! I love the rain ones, and the dog ones, including the written-on one. :-) And I love the note card you wrote your message on, too. The wolf in the middle does not look too happy about being squished! :-) Thank you so much!
Comment: Hi Betty, your ATC arrived today. I've given you the â™¥ï¸ due to the fact that you challenged yourself and tried something out of your comfort zone...well done! Just takes time and practice. You did very well.YouTube is great too...I watch new ideas myself often. Cheers 😊♥ï¸
Comment: I love all these little miniature pieces of art! I am so glad "that you can't count!" LOL Thank you! I have been trying to force some daffodils, but will end up planting them outside soon. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Comment: Thanks for the PC and the tasty sounding recipe. I rely on my brother to make the Salmon at our house, so I will pass the recipe on to him to make, lol. I like the bright red flower on the PC too- very cheery!
Comment: WOW...you really made my day!..Thank you for this awesome ATC with this special effect! It was such a great tactile experience! Oh and I really love the tiny piece of the past...Beautiful!...What a lovely carte postale!
Comment: Thank you so much fish the awesome twinchies!! You did a great job, very creative! Thank you too for saving those map cards for me. They are indeed new to my,collection, I love how unique they are! Thanks for an all around well performed and thoughtful swap!
Comment: Thank you for the cute zentangle inchies!
What paper did you use? I like how smooth it feels.
Response: It was sold as 200 gram colour copy paper. It's made by a company called Mondi and comes in A4 sheets -- I bought a ream of it. You're right -- it's beautifully smooth and takes colour well. It's actually too thick to go smoothly through the printer where I work so I just use it for hand crafting. I bought it from Amazon UK back in 2014 and still have loads left -- I mostly do inchies and postcards and ATCs so a sheet generally makes several items. It cost just under £8 for 250 sheets.
Comment: I received a lovely pocket letter from @Poftoffel today. I hope you are doing well. Take care.
Response: Thank you for being willing to accept the substitution and thank you again to @Potoffel for taking over this swap. She sent me a photo of the PL and it was indeed lovely -- I'm glad you like it.
Comment: Betty...I absolutely LOVE the cards you sent me. The Irish Breakfast is fantastic (and does not make me seasick LOL), The Dennis the Menace is one is great...but the vintage ones are OVER THE TOP. These are the ones I love the most especially the kitten one from the gentlemen to his girlfriend. Thank you so much. ♥ ♥ ♥
Comment: Thank you so much Betty! I don't think I've heard of this lady before, but it says on the back cover that only little has been written of her. I think this must be exactly what I ordered, a feminist, an artist and a rebel :) The small books fit the theme, I'm looking forward to read them all. I have a holiday coming next week, which means I can read in daylight, so I will take these books with me.
Comment: Hei Betty, your parcels both arrived at the same time - kudos to the mail service for once. I LOVED the selection and your letter! Thank you oh so much! I'm especially thrilled about the recipe and the spices. I love trying new things and spices often open a whole new range of possibilites. Thanks a million! I do hope, now my swap will arrive soon, too.
Comment: I am delighted by all the paper-crafted fairy-tale goodness you put together for me! Thank you, Betty! ♥ Some favorites are fantastic zine you made about fairy-tale postage stamps around the world (LOVE it!), the book-cover and illustration images you mounted on cardstock, and of course the wonderful photo-printed notecards you made for me, plus the cheshire cat note from the British Library is very cool. :) Thanks for a lovely and thoughtful package! ♥
Comment: Thank you very , very much. Especially love the postage stamps! ( the zine is awesome as well, but received one another time from you as well ;) )
Response: Hi Anicka, Sorry about sending you that zine twice! I'm rather fond of it and tend to tuck a copy into any parcel going to someone who likes fairy tales. I'll send you another fairy tale zine soon.
Comment: Thanks so much for the Hogmanay cards! I am so excited by the black bun idea -- I had heard of it but didn't know what it was, exactly. I love dried fruit puddings, cakes and pies so .. yum! I would probably fall asleep early on the night, but first footing would be fun. Not that I would be the lucky one! I am short, fair and female :)
Comment: Hello! Thank you for the beautiful card and Robert Burns mini-zine! The little illustrations are great. I found myself in the same boat in that some of my favorite Burns poems were long, so I had to settle for using a few excerpts in my own effort. Your mini-zine arrived with my first mail since Thursday--our snow has pushed everything off schedule. Thanks again!
Comment: I got you package today thank you so much. I love the bracelets, in fact i put them on immediately. The cards are beautiful too. You are a great photographer,i can grow the flojera, but cant take good photo but i love to paint. From photos my forest park ránger ex daughter in law

Comment: Hi Betty
Thank you so much for my beautiful fingerless mittens.I am so sorry the first pair was lost in the mail and it was so nice of you to make me another pair. A great partner you have been.Happy 2016 to you and family.
Comment: I received the package on the 24th! Just in time for Christmas. This present was awesome! I love everything you sent and the cookbook has some recipes that are not usually found in US or Canadian cookbooks. The very cute card is tucked into our tabletop tree and I took the wine gums to a movie for my theatre treat :) Thanks so much. I hope you had a lovely holiday.
Comment: Betty - I love everything you sent! The swap cards are fantastic, I really appreciate the images you used. I like the quilt ones too (I quilt a little bit when I have time). The note card is so cute and I like your photography too. Thank you so much!!!
Comment: I just got my pocket letter and loved it. I can't wait to use the goodies you sent. Also, I loved the Cadbury Dairy Milk. We get some Cadbury products here but it's not the same as what is available in England. I think the formula is different. Anyway the froggy was gone in moments. Lol. The turtles and butterflies will go in my altered art book I'm making. Thank you for putting so much thought into it.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely package (fabulous stamps on the outside, too!). I've saved the present to open at (or at least closer to!) Christmas, and also the lovely little envelope, but I've written which swap they were from on the outside. A heart for you anyway for the crosswords though - for me absolutely the nicest and most thoughtful extra ever. The zine is fun too - I've seen most of them but not the Danish ones, they're lovely. Many thank yous!
Update: I had a little opening session - thank you so much for the book, an incredibly thoughtful choice - I absolutely can't wait to read it :)
Comment: Thank you so much for a lovely mini book and swap! I really liked the zine, ATC, and peace charm. I especially appreciate the swap cards - I've never used them, but yours are gorgeous. I love your photography. Thanks!
Comment: I am so happy to receive your card Betty! It was completely intact and it was like 4 separate pieces of happy mail opening each pocket. Thanks for your letter, the swap cards, the postage stamps, and sharing your art. Just delightful!
Comment: Got your fear postcard today. The reaction picture made me laugh out loud. The irony is that rats are one of my favorite animals. I've had several as pets, and would have another if they weren't so much work.
Comment: Thank you SO much for the lovely package! It truly was heart warming, actually one of the best swaps I've ever received! I loved trying out the Twiglets (so funny, like eating real twigs!), Thorntons chocolate was so good and the bird themed things so cute! Thank you again!
Comment: I'm guessing that you were born in Norway but have lived in England for over 20years!
Response: Wrong, I'm afraid -- I was born in the USA but have lived in England for over 20 years. My grandfather was Norwegian, hence my Norwegian name, but I've never been there. The true statement was that I went on holiday to Bulgaria last year - we spent a few days in Sofia and then a week in Veliko Tarnova in central Bulgaria. Lovely countryside and fabulous churches, but still quite a poor country.
Comment: Thank you! I will guess the true statement is... "I am Norwegian but have lived in England for over 20 years" Am I right? :D
Response: Wrong -- I'm American but have lived in England for over 20 years! No, the true statement was that I went on holiday to Bulgaria last year -- we spent a few days in Sofia and then a week in Veliko Tarnova in central Bulgaria. Lovely countryside and fabulous churches, but still quite a poor country.
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful paper items! I love it that you used your own photos for the swap cards, you seem to be a good photographer as well. And I love that they are paper, so they won't add practically any weight to my swaps. The envelopes are so pretty, I'm going to use them for something special. The postcard is fun, I didn't know fruit and veg work that way ;)
Comment: YAY! They arrived and I love them. Thank you so much. I guess the originals are floating around somewhere in the Great Swap-Bot Post Office in the Sky. Thank You so much for being awesome! ♥ ♥ ♥
Comment: Thank you Betty for the Octopus art postcard! I like the painting of the pink & rose - colored octopus with the funny quote. Fun swap. Hope some time in future I can go to Sea World & maybe I will see a real Octopus. Fun swap! Happy Summer!
Comment: Thank you Betty for the unique H.G. Wells - "The First Men In The Moon" Science Fiction & space travel postcard you sent to me from Birmingham, UK! And thank you for the Yuri Gagarin quote. How I enjoyed reading H. G. Wells' books when I was a teen. Thanks again for this PC. Happy Summer!
Comment: I received this a while ago, and had a rating all set here, but realized when I was on your profile that it never stuck, So very weird. Any how, thank you so very much for the wonderful items you have sent, the window clings drive my cats crazy and have created much laughter at my house. Thank you too for all the other items they were also well chosen.
Comment: thanks for the frog zine...about 15 years ago I got to see a blue jeans frog in the rain forest of Costa Rica...I also found a tiny frog in my lawn one year...so tiny it was smaller than the nail on my baby finger
Comment: Thank you so much for a wonderful ephemera envelope. It was so much fun exploring it! I love the variety, the mixture of old and new..I love the ladies in the oldtimer :) Thank you!! Have a great July :)
Comment: Thank you so much for everything. I'm wearing the gloves right now, and am actually considering wearing them in my Midsummer Night's Dream performance on Monday! I LOVE the altar cloth, thank you for everything.
Comment: Thank you so much, Betty! I love this card! Is that actually a flower on one of the climbers' hats? Many years ago I did climb a smallish mountain, and I can attest that it was definitely a "peak" experience.
Comment: Yes! I did get it! Sorry it's taken me a bit to rate. The busyness of this month has gotten the better of me. It's a delightful package. My kids have already been begging for the marshmallows as treats and I gotta say, Cadbury chocolate is one of the ways to my hart so thank you for that.
Comment: I got this late last night when I finally got home...thank you so much! I love the keychain (my key ring is getting heavy now!), the ribbon is beautiful...the postcard and stamps are just the kind of shiny I like, and I'll be reading the magazine over the weekend. :D xoxo
Comment: O.O Betty - I am at a loss of words here!! If I could give you a million hearts I wouldn't think it sufficient. Omg I love EVERYTHING so much :D Everything. Looking at the envie alone has made me smile!! And the cards, and the mag, and the minizine and the stickers, and the DVD, and the recipes and *faint* Thank you a thousand times!!!!
Comment: Thank you so much for my envie! I loved everything, especially the things you made yourself. Also the exhibition leaflets you sent look really interesting, I'll have to pay another visit to Birmingham! :)
Comment: Great PC. . . I've never been up in a hot air balloon either but have seen them at several festivals we have around the US. They are so beautiful and look so gorgeous flying around. Thanks for the great PC and happy swapping ~~
Comment: I'm glad you used that card and envie, no matter the out of season theme, because, HOLY COW, that's a beautiful red and a beautiful picture! And I love the envies you made for me! Especially the one with the birds. It's my favorite! Thanks for a lovely swap and thanks for hosting!
Comment: Thank you for the nice recipe on the fruit loaf. I might try that for Christmas season this year! I appreciate your explanation on the flour and the substitute. I work at a grocery store part time and will check on this! Sorry for the time on rating..

Comment: HI Betty, Thank you for the great Bara Brith recipe for fruit loaf and your explanation of how to make it. In the USA we might call it fruitcake. :) I am going to give it a try. Enjoy the day! Demaris
Comment: Thanks for the fantastic Falkland Islands stampcard! We watch lots of penguins movies so the boy enjoys this card as well. Curious about the cancellation: "Grandfather at the pillar box" - Just learned pillar boxes are what the UK call mailboxes. =)
Comment: Love this PC! I'm like you when it comes to 'retro' or 'vintage' -- I dated a guy who had a Triumph Spitfire and owned a VW Beetle when I was young!! I guess that means we're 'retro' or 'vintage' :-) Thanks for the great PC and happy swapping ~~
Comment: I took a look at your work and the grounds are beautiful! What a lovely place to work every day! I loved the postcard book! It's fun that you know the artists that made them, it was a fun gift to receive. Thanks!
Comment: Thank you Betty for the big postcard view of the 100 Centenary of First World War! Amazing view from England when International TV broadcast showed area of 100 red poppies on display. Hope your project about the Quakers & WWI museum exhibit was a success! Happy Summer!
Comment: Thank you so much for the package!! I feel so spoiled!! I gobbled up the fruit stars right away and they were so delicious, I can see why they're your favourite :) I can't wait to try the two recipes, I will definitely use the kidney bean burgers for camping. Big thank you for all of the ephemera and the Dr Who postcard blew me away!! So many hearts, thank you again!!
Comment: What a great pc of a hay wagon on the old Radio Times magazine, for National Agriculture Day - thank you! :o)
Coming from a long line of farmers on both sides, I love anything farm related. It's also my first glimpse of this daffodil (?) definitive stamp.
Comment: Because you raised the issue, I did some reading on "photography as art" - and the opinions are all over the place. lol Thank you for explaining the subject and the work you put into your photograph - it's lovely. (";)
Response: Thank you, Terry, for your thoughtful comment. I know that it's a somewhat controversial topic but I'm glad you liked the ATC!
Comment: If I could give you a millian hearts I would. But swap bot only allots for 1 heart. everything in the envelope cheered me up. Your package came at a perfect time thanks so much. I appriciate everything.

Comment: Thank you so much. I love it all !!! You sure took note of my favorites. Kittens, cross stitch and a giraffe. Wow !! Love, love the bracelet. Not easy to find jewelry with a giraffe. My husband just gave me a beautiful necklace with 2 giraffes on it, early Valentines gift. I'm such a lucky gal. Thanks again.

Thank you again!
Comment: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Betty! You did good this year saving and though it didn't all work out like you'd hoped, it was a step in the right direction. I didn't save as much as I wanted either, but I will try again next year! :) Good luck in your own savings efforts!
Comment: Thank you so much for the amazing cards -- I loved them all -- how fun and creative and wonderful! I feel that Archy (and Mehitabel and his Royal dryness) were celebrated with an ope heart :) Which makes me incredibly happy!
Response: I'm SO glad you liked them -- I had such fun making them! I've been on tenterhooks waiting to see what you thought of them!
Comment: I LOVE this pc - thank you! :o) It looks Hindu, I think? Seems to me that I used to get these kind of pictures (moving, not Hindu, lol) prizes sometimes in cracker jacks.
I apologize for the delay in rating. I've been moving from the country to the city since the 1st, and I'm still not done! Had no internet for 4 days, then got sick with something. I have about 5% of my postcarding stuff unpacked - moving sucks!
Response: Yes, Hindu. Good luck with the unpacking!
Comment: Betty, you are amazing! And most definitely psychic! I have already got Isis in that range of plates! You know my taste so well now, I love the socks, the pegasus mirror, just everything! Thank you a million times!
Comment: Betty I remember back in the 60's (when I was a kid), my father took my sister & I to Ringling Bros. Circus. Outside a vendor sold living anole pins. They would put a safety pin through an outer skin layer on their bellies and pin them to your shirt. After the circus our dad swung by the store and bought us a terrarium for them. So Un-PC today.
Comment: Thank you so much for the snacks and for the efforts you took to send healthy, fruity options. I already ate the blackcurrant bar--delicious! I'm looking forward to the apricot one as well. Thanks!
Comment: Betty, thank you for another wonderful swap. The illustrations in the book are lovely, and I shall have fun making the bracelet. Yours will be in the post on Monday - you will laugh when you see it, we definitely have got a psychic connection!
Comment: Thank you for the fantastic items, cant wait to use them all, and the playing cards will be good for while Im laid up in bed recovering from surgery. Loved the letter you put with it and the ticket and that vintage postcard was really cool as well, all around a fun pkg to receive!
Comment: Anything and everything England is perfect for me! :oP Thanks for the great vintage card of the couple taking an autumn walk with their dog in the Lakes District - it reminds me of the walks I used to take with my dogs. We really put on the miles in the fall!
Comment: Hi Betty- hearts for effort! I know when something doesn't turn out the way I want it to it can get frustrating. Mine weren't as lovely as the Pinterest pics I was using as inspiration either. We'll just chalk it up to one of those "nailed it!" photos, laugh and move on.
Response: Thank you!!!! Maybe we should set ourselves a digital art painted feather challenge ....
Comment: Wow! I love all the details and information. Thank you so much for sharing all that with me and your other partners. I hope you sign up for the September version of this swap. It is already posted. Thanks for the extras too!
Comment: I'm so glad I finally got this! I'm not huge on postcards but I definitely loved the ones you sent. Also super lovely notecard! Thanks a lot, and I love how thoughtful you were to include info for me to look up the exhibit. Thank you so much!
Comment: Thanks so much for your zine. The illustrations were cute, and you found some good facts to include. It was especially nice to read about your coffee routine at the office! The zine was a treat to receive.
Response: Thank you so much for the lovely comment!
Comment: Hello Betty! Your package arrived today - you are really speedy.. I especially love the envies you sent - they are so pretty! I also admire your photography.. May you have many more happy vacations! ^^ xx
Comment: Thank you for such a wonderful mini care package! I love it so much! The time and effort you put into it is very much appreciated. It was also really lovely to have a swap from someone from my own city.
Comment: And again I failed in waiting for the appropriate day^^ Thank you very very much for the lovely items - my bathroom is getting done at the time, so the sponge is just perfect (I still have the olive soap you once sent me, I kept it for my new bathroom as well ;)). The wind zine is so creative, I love the vintage Napoli postcard and its envie, the card you included is so adorable and I cannot wait starting the book - perfect swap, I would rate you tons of hearts if only I could <3
Comment: What a wonderful package!!! I absolutely LOVED your letter -- thanks for making it so much fun to read! I also LOVE the postcards (I hardly have any UK ones, and am thrilled you sent so many and that many of them are maps!) and the CD of Scandinavian music!! The table runner is really pretty, the bracelets are fun. And while I'm normally not a fan of receiving food or drink items, the tea you included was nicely packaged (and smells really nice!) and doesn't look like it's been sitting around in a cupboard. ;-) So I just might have to try some, and if not, will find it a good home! Overall, a fantastic swap -- thanks so much!!!
Comment: I love how your envie stayed folded all the way from UK! Thanks for the link to the instructions, I will try it out. I love the story of your origami museum, haha that is precious.Welcome back to crafting!
Comment: Haha, lol, I immediatly recognised the box where you send the swap in.XD It was originally from me. I send these boxes to Sophie in Germany. I'm glad to see that it gets reused. Taking care of the envirement already gives you a heart from me.^_^ But I wish I could give you more hearts for the swap itself. It was a wonderful swap. I'm looking forward to start sewing toys. Loved the magazine and the notebook. Thank you! <3<3<3<3
Comment: Dearest Betty, thank you for such a wonderful package - a cake book and recipe magazine, fruity rolls and chocolate, butterfly and ladybird mould, sewing kit, cross-stitching kit, japanese goods and typography book. It was such a delight to open the package and absolutely made my day. Thank you so much once again ♥♥♥
Comment: Thank you for your thoughtful book review. I read The Dead Secret as well and generally had the same thoughts you did. Isn't it interesting how the secret that would have been so shocking at that time was fairly obvious to us modern day readers?
Comment: Lovely parcel.^_^ Don't worry I prefer typewrited letters over handwritten, because most of the time I can't read them. I also like poetry. There's only 3 genres I really don't like: horror, chicklit and some romance. So don't worry for the other genres, poetry is great. It really seems like a special book. An entire story written in poetryform, I never read something like that before. I'm looking forward to read it. Love the extras too, the cookies are my favorites O:-)
Comment: Thank you, pretty flip flop cross stitch! Now I want to go to the beach :). That is so sweet of you to send the cross stitch magazine, and an issue with the added stitchery! Thank you so much! The patterns on the front look fun too, they are sparking more mini-theme ideas! Thank you!
Comment: I really love your Zine. How original and nice. I really like the idea of combining poetry and images. Don't worry about the folding, I think we all have this problem...lol. Thanks for joing my swap.
Comment: Wow, I LOVE all the things you chose, they made me laugh out loud, think and giggle at the same time. Absolutely wonderful, can´t decide what I like the most. Oh, and funny enough: the frog actually reached me a day before the first package. Curious...;)
Comment: Thank you so much for the wonderful goodies package!! I'm so excited about it all :D I had to go ahead and try the chocolate (which was excellent!) and right now I'm going to make myself a lovely cup of tea :)
Can't wait to try that ginger drink, jerk sauce and fish seasoning (and everything else, really!), and I truly believe that the instant oats is the best invention EVER..!
I would give you 10 stars if it was possible! Thank you! <3
Comment: Took me a while to find your email as you didn't include your screen name in it. But there it was :-) Great to read a log from someone else who does both paper and audio; I love having multiple books in progress at a time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about what you read!
Comment: Just got your PC in the mail. Thanks for the great postage stamps also. Paddington Bear <3 I could not see any postmark, so I had to go to your profile to see where you mailed this from. All I could tell from the stamps was that it was Royal Mail, All is good now.
Comment: There are really not enough hearts to give you for this swap. I was completely blown away!! I LOVE the book! Seriously, I was so shocked and touched I teared up! The bookmark and card are beautiful! But seriously love the book. Vintage books are one of my favorite things to collect and they are so expensive here. On my last trip to England, they were the only souvenirs I bought for myself! Thank you so much! I will treasure it always!
Comment: Thank you for the nice card and bookmark. But most importantly, thank you for your prayers! You have been a wonderful partner, going above and beyond with your kind notes and helping me understand God's message. I will keep you, my sister in Christ, in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you a most splendid springtime! Love and hugs!
Comment: Thank you for your thoughtful review of "Ex Libris". It is not a book that caught my attention on the list but I'm thinking perhaps I might at least browse it. It sounds like I may find some interest in at least some of the essays. I enjoyed reading your review!
Comment: Thank you so much for the wonderful list! "The Story of the Hundred-Year-Old Man" is sitting on my shelf, as well. I hear only wonderful things about it. I will absolutely add your recommendations to my list of books to read. I am especially excited to read "The Dangerous Sports Euthanasia Society" and "Mr Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore". Oh boy! How will I ever get through all I want to read?
Comment: Very clever to just label the countries and put the books on another page. I didn't do it that way and I'm sure I'll run out of room by the end of the year! I loved seeing the coverage of your books from around the world. Very cool! And, no, the Bulgaria one isn't cheating as far as I'm concerned :-)
Comment: I know, actually I should have waited with opening your presents, but I was way too curious^^ I love everything - the pretty nice kitschy card and the wonderful and interesting Russian cosmonaut stamps, wow. The Barber Shop Quartet CD is very funny to listen to, and I am very sure that I will spend a lot of time with the poetry book. I can't wait to use the so pleasantly natural smelling soap and to try the teas. An awesome package you created, really, thanks a lot <3
Response: I'm so glad you like it -- I really enjoyed finding things that I thought you would like!
Comment: Great swap. I already bought some e-books on your list, that seemed worth reading for me. ^_^ I was really surprised that you recommended the book the tudor conspiricy. :-D Expecially because I sent you that book in the swap, so that's really nice to hear. :-) Thanks for sharing.
Comment: Haha, Betty, you never fail to make me laugh and brighten my day! I loved your parcel - and the moment when I opened it and saw string and sellotape I was flabberghasted ... "Umm ... okaaaay?" Just like with the dishmop! :D I love your sense of humour and I love the DIY project, I'll give it a try! But besides the humorous part your parcel was great in many other ways, too. Everything's so thoughtful and so special, really unique and local, I love that. Also, thank you so much for sharing your Easter thoughts and experiences with me. They're not too different from my own actually. And thanks for the blog article, I'm glad you included them, restricting yourself is hardly ever a good thing and it really pushed my thoughts, too. We should talk about it sometime. Right, this rating is long enough, I just wanted to show you how grateful I am for a beautiful parcel. :)
Comment: Betty, I love my dragons! The puppet (not sure what else to call it) is terrific, and it didn't get squished! The necklace and the charm are really lovely. But the absolute best thing is the wall hanging - it is soooooo nice, and I have the perfect place for it. Thank you again for another absolutely fabulous swap.
Response: I am SOOO glad that the puppet (I think it's a puppet!) survived his flight from Birmingham to Derbyshire. And I'm glad you liked the wall hanging -- I found it in one of the Chinese shops in Birmingham city centre and really likedit.
Comment: Thanks for your log. I didn't realize Cold Comfort Farm was a book, my parents got the movie from netflix and I loved the movie! I immediately went to my book trade accounts and added it to my wishlist :)
Comment: Wow, Betty, thank you SO much! I love everything to bits! The book, the totes, the tea, the personal goodies, very much 'me'. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this thoughtful package together for me and for joining my swap:)!<3
Comment: Ahahaha, I already love this just because of the dish mop! :D And actually, it was brilliant, because you made me so curious about the book and why the mop was in the parcel, that I'll start reading right away. I think, the summary sounds brilliant. If you want, I'll let you know, what I thought of the book once I've read it. Thank you very much for everything!
Comment: Thank you so much! I looove everything you sent! And everything came at such a good time (In Denmark we have winter vacation right now) So a whole week just for reading awesome crime books and eating healthy snacks! :D
Comment: Hi Betty I received your parcel today and what a fun, exciting time it was opening it. It was apparent that you spent time in choosing things because there were so many profile items in it. I absolutely adored the miniatures for my doll house. I have not seen these particular ones here. I am really impressed with your card, the picture is gorgeous. The craft items will surely be used and I love receiving candies from other places. The pad of paper is just what I would have chosen for myself. Thanks again and I hope we swap again sometime where I can be your partner. Pat
Response: I'm so glad you liked it. I had a lot of fun choosing things!
Comment: Thankyou Betty for the lovely bag of my favourite colours, a very thoughtful bag of goodies. i love the duck bath puff, The bracelet is nice. and love the blue gifts, thankyou Betty, have a very happy new year love Jennifer.
Comment: Thank you so much for a cozy night in! I can really use it! Now I have the goodies and just need time for it. ;) Anyhow, your parcel was really sweet, the sock are a hoot and the DVD is exactly right - I saw that version of the christmas carol a few years ago when it came to the theatres and loved it, so that's perfect. Thank you also for the extra book, fantastic! Love Shakespeare! And I've been good and haven't opened my present yet. Thank you for everything.
Comment: Thank you,so much for the bag of red and green awesomeness! Markers and ribbon will be handy for my Christmas wrapping and all the treats to help me keep up my energy! Great choices! Merry Christmas to,you!
Comment: Dear Betty! I can't find words to describe my happiness when I opened your package! I absolutely love all you sent! My favorite cross-stitch magazine, chocolate, drinks, gifts for my kids! And, oh my God, postcard with Alice in Wonderland!!! - it's real treasure for me! You are so thoughtful, thank you very much!
Response: Viza, I'm absolutely delighted that you love your package! I was really pleased to find that Alice in Wonderland postcard -- I knew as soon as I saw it that it was perfect for you!
This has been a great swap -- let's do it again some time!
Response: It was great fun trying to find as many different kinds as possible! Chocolate with mint is very common in England but most other countries don't seem to put that combination of flavours together. I'm glad you liked your parcel.
Comment: Thank you for a nice Birmingham multi view. The slug. Hehe. Here in my country we have buildings called: the Peppershaker, and the bath tub. And a bridge called the swan. Funny, how people make names for unusual buidings.
Have a nice day.
Response: And a statue of a woman in a fountain, officially called "The River", was nicknamed "The Floozie in the Jacuzzi" within a day of it's being finished!
Comment: Lovely! I love the postcard images, article, keychain and map of Woodbrooke! I'd love to visit it if I am ever in the region. I have many friends in the UK that I've not seen in decades...
Response: If you're ever coming over, let me know! I work at Woodbrooke and love showing the gardens to people. There's a wonderful Victorian kitchen garden which still provides food for the college.
Comment: Oh wow, one single heart ain't enough at all, you deserve at least 1.000.000.000 ! Thank you very much ! Everything is so awesome ... I love the calendar, the inflatable guitar and all the crazy things you sent. Too bad you live that far away, I would have given you a masta mega hug !
Response: I am so happy that I managed to find things that you liked! I must admit, the inflatable guitar was my favourite!
Comment: Thanks for the recipes! They were really thorough (which helps me a lot, because I'm absolutely helpless when it comes to cooking!). I'm going to make the Roasted Apple, Onion and Sweet Potato Soup for my family's fall festival. Thanks!! :)
