Comment: Thank you for sharing your weekend. I'm glad that we got to be partners again too. The Beatrix Potter book and exhibition sound very interesting. I love learning about other people lives. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend, maybe except for the weeds! LOL! Take care and I hope we get to swap again. :)
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed and thank you for the rating and the heart.
Comment: I loved reading all that you wrote .... haven't started mine as of yet but am hoping to get it done by the deadline. If I find I'll be a little late on it, I'll for sure let you know, k?! (Hugs) ... Deb
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. Writing this swap really helped me work through things, lol. Thank you for being my therapist 😉. No worries, just do it when you can. I look forward to reading. Xx
Comment: Thanks for the card, I do like the painting. You made an excellent. No ice. I hope you can get to London sometime this summer. I had Spanish in high school and college and that was like 45 years ago! Still remember some especially the verbs! Do detest a su madra? Me madra esta en la Mesa hahah
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. I'm glad you liked the card :-). I'm running out of cards so need to get to London soon to get some more from the Tate Modern - they do the best cards lol
Comment: Whoop, your envelope made it straight into my letterbox. Thank you for sharing all the bits and pieces you are currently doing. I think walking is a great hobby - you dont need much, just a good pair of shoes and off you go! I hope I have the chance to go back to office pretty soon - I am definitely not a huge fan of home office. Or maybe I am just a bit "homesick", being at home all the time. And now have a nice Sunday.
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. I'm glad it arrived safe and sound. Fingers crossed you get the chance to go back into the office soon.
Comment: I enjoyed reading your answers and learning to know you a bit more. Now I must find out where I can find "The End of Mr Y” :D I should like to hear more about your experience with mindful eating too. Maybe tell me about it in your next letter? :)
Response: I'm glad you liked. I recommend Abebooks for any books if you can't find it. It's a decent book selling website, but go off the reviews - if the seller has bad reviews, don't go there! :-)
Yes, I'll talk about mindful eating in my next letter. I'm hoping to get one out by the end of the week but the postage prices have gone up so I need to wait for some new stamps.
Have a great week.
Comment: This was a was a great e-mailswap. It's so much fun reading when everything is nicely edited. ^_^ I also like reading in the author's native language, I thought I was alone in that. Thanks for sharing. :D
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. And thank you for hosting. It was a fun swap to do. I'm glad you liked my answers. Happy Reading.
Comment: Thanks so much for joining in the 100-Acre Fun! We had 24 players in all & 6 of the WOODS characters represented as follows:
- Seven Winnie-the-Pooh‘s
- Five Tiggers
- Four Christopher Robin‘s
- Three each of Owls & Rabbits
- Two Eeyore’s
Response: Thank you :-). Winnie the Pooh is one of my favourites because there are so many different personalities within it and always someone to relate to :-)
Comment: Hi Mickey! Thanks for the great book review ... I usually don't read murder type books but you made it sound really interesting and so when I have time, I may check it out. Right now though, I just started a book with over 1,100 pages and that'll probably take a bit to read. lol (Stay safe!)
Response: I'm glad you liked. It's not your typical murder mystery so you might enjoy it. Enjoy your book!
Comment: Your dedication to hiking sounds great. And yes, I could do some decluttering. But working days even when working from home are long... Stay safe and healthy.
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. I agree with the long days - to start with I set an alarm for mini-breaks throughout the day and one for stopping work and turning off - might help.
Comment: Thank you for your email. I totally feel you with overworking. My contract was limited to 80% (time and salary) but my but I can't find balance and I;m still working overtime. I keep my finger cross that you would be able to complete Three Peaks Challenge. I heard from one of my past pen pals who did it that it was so amazing!
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. I think a lot of companies will be getting 'free work' in these times. I hope things go well with you and you find the right balance soon.
Comment: I found it interesting to read your pros and cons since you live in a different country. Yours are not that much different than ours in the USA. Thanks for sharing and stay safe! I did reply to your email and let you know I was rating you.
Response: Hiya. Thanks for your e-mail and the rating and heart. I hope you're also staying safe and finding a way to keep positive and happy.
Comment: Greetings. Thank you for your package that arrived today. Yes it was supposed to be a SOUVENIR COIN, like the one I sent to you. No problem! I still appreciate what you sent. Thanks for joining my swap. :-)
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. Yes, when I saw yours I thought "oops".
Comment: I hope you have made it through the book! (It) And there are some books that are best read in daylight, too, or put in the freezer as Joey did on Friends! I am going to look up 'Crimson' and decide whether or not to read - you never know! All the best, Tracy.
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. I've not finished It yet, but the freezer is a good idea :)
Comment: Hi Mikaela! Thanks for the fun share about your weekend and the awesome polar bear notecard! So glad you enjoyed the polar bears and your description of the armadillo was fun - somehow they seem to be getting around everywhere in the US - I think they started in TX maybe? Who knew they could swim or how are they getting around? Thanks again for the fun share - I very much enjoyed it! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. I'm so glad you liked. Yes, they're funny little creatures.
Happy Swapping :)
Comment: Mickie, I absolutely LOVED reading your answers for this swap. Thank you so much! I have your letter started and over half ways done but though I might not get it done yet this week (but then too, I might!) but if not, it will for sure be done by the send by date. : ) Have an awesome day
Response: Thank you so much for the rating and the heart. I'm glad you liked my answers. I'm thinking another one might be a good idea. I'll have a think and message you.
Comment: Helo! Diolch yn fawr iawn am eich cerdyn post! It's so nice to see another fellow Welsh person on Swap Bot ! I'm in the South near Cardiff but I've visited Holyhead a few times as my grandparents live there! x
Response: Thank you for the rating and heart. I've never been to Cardiff but am hopefully going in December! Excited!
Comment: Thank you for the letter, love the paper. The recipe looks delicious and we happen to have an Aubergine that needs to be used so I'm going to give it a try at the weekend. I'll let you know how it goes :) Hey Mickie, just wanted to let you know the other letter arrived as well, it's obviously been on a trip somewhere as the postmark is clearly in February. Hope you're staying safe :)
Response: Ooh, enjoy! It is the most delicious meal. Also goes very well with crusty bread :-)
Comment: What a wonderful weekend, a trip to Stratford-upon-Avon to see a Shakespeare play. The note card you used of his birthday is now added to my collection of items to keep. Thank you so much. Happy Swapping--Michelle
Comment: I so enjoyed hearing about your weekend. I've heard about Britbox. Hope with that snow, you enjoyed something on the "Tube". Thank you for the letter and postcard. Have a great Leap Day on Saturday.
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. I'm loving Britbox.
You too have a great Leap Day - fill it with something special.
Comment: Thank you for telling me about Krakow! I really wanted to take a trip there. Everyone tells me I need to go get some authentic Polish pottery. I will make sure to try the food and drink and visit the museums. I love museums. :)
Response: I'm glad you liked. Yes, go! :-). If/when you go, I hope you enjoy.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely letter you sent! I'm so glad you're finding swaps to join in the group that you like! I'm actually your partner for two swaps and so you have some mail from me on it's way haha!
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. Looking forward to receiving your mail :-)
Comment: Hello Mickie,
It has been my pleasure to read your book review for January. Your book review was very well written and did a GREAT JOB of introducing me to your book for January. I want to find this book and read it. I like how you laid out your book review. I hope you will be alright with me using your outline to do my book report. I haven't completed the book I've been reading but I will do so. I will be starting a new book tomorrow for the February Challenge 2020. I hope we will get to swap with one another again. Happy Reading in February!!!!
Response: Hey. Thank you so much for the lovely rating. Yes, of course, use the structure. I think I originally found it recommended on a website. I hope the book you’re reading is good and you have plenty of books to look forward to this year.
Comment: Thank you for your answers Mikaela. Like you I enjoy watching Midsomer Murders. I just got back from a weekend away and am planning another trip away. would love to visit your country again but costs so much just to get there. Jigsaws sounds good and putting them on the wall, good idea. Thanks for your swap.
Response: Thank you for the rating. Weekends away are great, I hope you enjoyed.
Good luck with your travel planning and enjoy!
Comment: Thank you, Mikaela, for your gorgeous notecard. I love the design - wildlife and forest at night. Your weekend sounds lovely and peaceful. Ain't it great when you have a hairdresser you can put your faith and trust in? Go be the best you! Cheers.
Response: I'm glad you like. Yes, I love these notecards and found them by chance, but I now know where they are, lol
Comment: Your shows sounds really interesting. The one I think I'd most enjoy is the sewing one (even though I don't sew, I'd like to!) For some reason, I could never get past threading the sewing machine. lol
Response: Thank you. Yes, I can't wait for it to start again :-). I hope you get some great shows this year
Comment: I love the rearranging that goes on in a new house. We're constantly organizing and reorganizing to make the new house fit us. I hope you're having as much fun in your new home as we are!
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart :-).
Oh, yes, things have got to be right :-). I'm currently a bit cramped though as I've got two dining tables until I can get rid of the old one. But the new one's amazing, so not complaining.
Enjoy your new home!
Comment: Thanks! I'm so happy to hear you got a new piercing and are enjoying it! I love my piercings and now, I'm thinking I may need to get another one :)
Response: Ooh, go for it!! I'm really getting into them now. My next goal is a belly button one, but I've put on a lot of weight over the summer so first I'm going to lose some weight and then get it as a reward :-). Enjoy!
Comment: Loved your festive writing paper and thank you for the christmas card too. Have a lovely time in Wales, hope you dont get snowed in. You are brave thinking of going on a ghost hunt , not me!!! It is going to be a quiet Christmas for me as well. Happy holiday season.
Response: Thank you :-). Quiet is good! Enjoy and happy holidays!
Comment: Thank you :) I am so curious to see what you sent!
You have similar plans with me! I had very bad two years behind me and right now going through life style change with better food, more exercise... I hadn't heard about three peaks challenge, I am bit curious of trying that one day too or at least make the hikes in bit slower tempo.
Have a great holiday and all the best for the coming year! Good luck :)
Response: I'm glad you liked and hope you like the gifts. If you decide to do the three peaks (or one, or two, etc), feel free to drop me a message if you wanted someone to hike with. Have a great holiday season too. :-)
Comment: Mickey, I am so glad I read your letter just now in the morning! I myself have been trying to adjust at my new workplace. And I am so glad that you were my partner! Also, thank you for starting the letter so nicely! Would you like if I write you an email with my experience in it?
Response: Hey, I'm glad you liked it and am sorry to hear that you're also having work problems. Of course, my e-mail address is [email protected] I'm a bit slow at replying to e-mails so please bear with me, especially before the end of the year. Sending positive vibes.
Comment: Mickie, thank you for the notecard from Chatsworth House. I agree that I'd love to sit in there and read a book! We have a lot in common and I loved hearing all about your weekend. I don't know if you're looking for any more penpals but I'd love to write you back. I'm not a super timely penpal but I do enjoy writing when I have tim!
Response: Hi Sarah,
Yes, I'd love if you want to write back. I'm not someone who expects a reply in X-weeks so don't worry about when you reply. I'll drop you a message with my address :-). Look forward to 'meeting' you in the post.
Comment: Hi Mickie! I appreciate the Shakespeare image on the front of your PC. Unfortunately, all of the ideas for your visit come from the state of Ohio instead of where I live in Minnesota :)
Response: Oh no! I searched for Minnesota :-(. I have just looked it up and a massive difference in the area - oops! Sorry about that. I've just had a quick look and the two that have jumped out at me (naturally miles away from each other) are the city of Minneapolis - I love a nice city break - and the Superior National Forest which looks like it's on the edge of Minnesota and Ontario :-)
Comment: Mickie, Thank you for the postcard of St Paul's Cathedral! The places you chose to visit are good choices! If you timed it right, Mesker Zoo might be having their Orchid Festival, and you would see many many beautiful orchid on display! The Museum is right down on the river, and you could also tour the LST ship that is on display there. My grandfather worked in the shipyards when they were being built. The Theatre is also fun and the local theatre troupe puts on a very good show! If you were to visit my area, I would take you to several other local sites in addition to the ones you listed: we could have a 'family style' meal at The Log Inn, which used to be a stagecoach stop, and was a place where Abraham Lincoln visited on one of his trips to the area. We could also make a trip to West Baden Springs Resort, a wonderful hotel that has hosted several famous people, including the gangster Al Capone, who was involved in a shoot-out that left bullet holes in the side of the building. If you ever DO get to come to Mid-West USA, please let me know and we'll take in the sights together!!! Meanwhile, happy swapping to you!!!
Response: Omg! I want to come now!! Lol. Thank you for the tips and should I make it out your way I'll definitely let you know! Happy Swapping.
Comment: Adorable stationary!! I will write back (if that's okay) soon! And thank you for the tea!
Response: Hi Al,
Glad you liked. I received your letter for the October Penpals too. I'll write soon - unless you want to write first? As your letter is a bit more involved, I'm happy to reply to that one then go from there?
Comment: Your card got here so fast! I'm going to get s map of England so I can plot all my swaps there. You mentioned a longer commute, what distance would that be? I find people's sense of distance and time vary by where they're from.
Response: Wow! It did get there quick - it makes me happy as I've been having trouble with the mail recently so it's great that at least one arrives lol. My new commute would be 90 minutes each way without traffic. Yes, it does depend I think.
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful hot air balloon notecard! A 39-page long letter? Wow. That is amazing! I struggle to make mine 2-3 pages. ;D Good on you for learning Spanish! I lived in Valencia, Spain for a full year back in my university days. I miss it terribly and have been thinking about going back.
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart. I'm glad you liked my notecard. :-)
Comment: I loved everything! Thank you so much! I've never used a goal notebook and I will definitely be making it my mission to use it :) The skin care items are great and smell amazing! Thanks so much! It brought a smile to my face :)
Response: Oh I'm so glad it reached you and you liked it. I love the Elemis brand - enjoy! Hope you're having a great week.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely card, so good to get a swap from someone else who is UK based, I think we need a UK group :) Like you I always plan trips, visits for the weekend but more often than not real life gets in the way :) hope you got the washing machine sorted. And btw - Halloween - great movie. :)
Response: Glad it arrived and you liked it. Real life definitely gets in the way. I hope you get many weekend breaks before the end of the year and even more next year.
Comment: WOW! MIckie! What a fantastic weekend that was! I'm glad you enjoyed Cabaret. I saw the movie with Maximilian Schell when I was very young. I love it! My mom brought me up on musicals. Stephen Fry! That must have been really good. Have you watched Fry and Laurie? I've only seen a few, they are funny. Love British Comedies.. mostly older ones though, like Butterflies and Good Neighbors (I think it was called The Good Life originally). Brighton! How wonderful! It really is a fun, vibrant area - as you pointed out. Never seen it in the summer, bet it is even more more lively then! I have a friend that used to live in Ferring, next to Worthing. Love the area! You are right... so calming! I am so glad you had such a wonderful weekend! You have proved to the world that you don't need to go far to have a wonderful holiday. Thank you for sharing your weekend with me. I hope if I get you for a weekend partner, that I have something interesting to tell you! BTW: lovely notepaper! Wish they made it like that here! Extra Hearts for your wonderful letter... <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Response: Oh, thank you, so kind :-).
No, I've not seen Fry and Laurie, but it's on my Netflix list so I'm sure I will soon. Yes, it's "The Good Life" here and also one of my favourites. If you can get it, I also recommend "Open All Hours" (the original, not "Still Open All Hours" which is a remake more recently. That one's ok, but not the original).
Have a great weekend :-)
Comment: Hi Mickie, thank you for your lovely note about your weekend. I have heard good things about Blinded By The Light and I about Wild. I saw it a while back and. Thought it was a roller coaster ride of emotions packed in that film. What perseverance she had. Happy swapping.
Comment: Thanks for the swap of your interesting answers.
My wife keeps buying candles and not burning them. I cleaned out the storage shelves in the closet last winter and came up with over fifty that had never had a match touch their wick. They are now organized so she can find what she wants, depending upon the season, and won't buy any more of the scents she already has three to five of.
Response: Thanks :-)
Haha, yes, I know that feeling! Enjoy the wonderful fragrances.
Comment: I'm so happy for you that you finally got a few decorations started. Tiny bits here and there finished. I can't wait to have a house of my own to decorate. I love the cute kitty on the front of the card! Thank you for telling me about ur weekend!
Comment: Wow!! I wish I had seen this movie! His analysis was very interesting and insightful. I'm a lover of Harry Potter books, it's my favorite! I've read it a lot more than 7 times, but I confess that I don't love the movies so much, although I like it a lot. Thanks for your message. It was very nice to read it!
raise your wands o/
Comment: Thanks for the interesting story and such beautiful letter set! I really love that you visited museums, and even, bravely went to red-light district. My friend just brought me a stroopwafel last Sunday upon returning from his study in Netherlands, and I agree that it's very tasty. I wish I could go there soon!
Comment: I am so sorry to be late rating this! I received your awesome letter last week and it got placed in with pen pal letters to answer. I just now opened it and realized it was my swap! I loved reading about your weekend, healthy eating kick and cleaning out the death trap closet :) And good luck in your job search!
Response: Thanks Ilyse. I'm glad you like.
Comment: Thank you so much for sharing your answers with me! I loved that your travel answer had to do with time and not so much places. I didn't think of that when I answered. Also, watching movies for free when invisible seems like a good one too! And selling your invisibility skills was even better. There's a money maker! Thanks again!
Response: Glad you liked :-) Have a great weekend!
Comment: Thank you for sending a postcard from your trip to Brighton! I am grateful you took the extra step and read my profile to write my postcard.. I was not able to ready any books this month yet. I need to get started soon.
Response: You're welcome. Enjoy the books when you're able. I'm currently reading "The Outsider" by Stephen King - I recommend it if you like thrillers that keep you guessing.
