Comment: Funny - your postcard read: The one with the most things at the end - Wins. After reading it, I thought it had to be a reference to something I'm not familiar with, or just a very shallow slogan :) Luckily, you're thoughts mirrored mine!
Have a happy and a wonderful new decade to come!
Comment: Thank you for the card. Although, I must admit that I am quite disappointed since I believe that this is a New Year’s card. Inside, it says “Here’s to wishing you much happiness and cheer and everything it takes to make a happy new year!” I’m not a native English speaker but I think that this phrase implies that this is a New Year’s card. The colors on the front of the card are red and green so at least that’s quite “Christmas-y”. I’d hate to give a 3 since you did send me a card, just want to let you know my thoughts to prevent this from happening again. Hope you understand.
Comment: Thank you for the Christmas card! My kids were impressed to get something all the way from Alaska! Guess it is cold there. We got cold enough tonight by our standards to light a fire! This morning in NOLA it was like 80. Now it is 55!
Comment: Thank you for the card! I just addressed the 3rd card for you this morning. Lol!
To answer you question, we usually don't go anywhere. If the kids want to play in snow we drive up Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic Mountains which is just south of us until we reach snow. We usually don't get much snow here.
Comment: You are so lucky to live in AK! I've been on cruises there & loved it. I didn't see a moose, though. We have elk in the Great Smoky Mtns. National Park near me. They are quite aggressive in rut.
Comment: I tried to give you a heart! SB is messing up, or my computer. Weird. It lets me rate but not heart. I'll come back later and heart, but anyway, this is SUCH an interesting PC! THIS is why I love postcards! I recognize one of those as definitely one I had in the '80s!
Comment: This is too cool, thank you so much! I hope you like what I'm doing to it!! 😊 I'm going to use the one you sent me in the next round, goes perfectly in my Doctor Who bedroom. I hope you like what I sent for this one!
Comment: The envelope was stamped postage due. But I was not charged. And also seem to be opened but still contained the items for the swap at least I think everything was still inside but none the less still qualify for a 5 and the items sent were lovely by the way. Thank you.
Response: I'll definitely tape it better next time...and I paid for all of them at the counter, so weird. Glad you didn't have to pay extra. Thanks for letting me know.
Comment: I received the resend and the extra. Not only the PC is gorgeous, perhaps my favorite one, but I gasp when I saw those Disney PCs. Thank you so much. And thank you for communicating with me. Wish I could give you more than 1 heart. 💌
Response: Thank you! I'm glad you got it this time!!! Hope to see you in future swaps. I think I mailed you another one today :)
Comment: Steph, thank you for the very interesting postcard. I wouldn't be crossing a frozen river and especially when the ice has broken up. I also can't wait for Spring. Our flowering trees and daffodils are blooming but it is still cold here for this time of year. It is supposed to hit 77 degrees on Friday but will be cloudy with showers(I'll take it). It has been in the lower 50's. Shirley
Comment: thanks for the postcard. we have some eagles in my neighborhood here and near my work. when i saw you were from Alaska it brought back memories of going there as a kid. fun times. cheers - christen
Comment: Thank you for the store front postcard. It's been a mild winter here too. The like sweatshirt and sandals kind of weather. Today is the end of it though. We're supposed to have a giant snow storm tonight. It's cool though, I don't have work until Wednesday!
Comment: Thank you so much for the wonderful week of cards! I'm sorry for he late rating. They got separated because of opening them all through the week. I think I like the giraffes the best also. Too Cute! :)
Comment: LOL, this card is excellent and the Wasilla postmark smack in the center of the picture makes it even better! A card like this is for cheapskates too cheap to send a real card LOL. Happy new year!!
Comment: Wow....this really took a scenic route. Somehow I find postcards do that. I often wonder if they just get stuck in between mail and get delivered wrong, then put in the mail again. Either way...thank-you for an adorable snowman/elf card. Hope you enjoyed Christmas and are having a great start to 2019.
Comment: Yah, I am trying to understand this pig....no pig kisses? No pig toungue? Lol A truck of pigs overturned by our land up north, they only recovered a few. Pigs grow feral immediately, grow tusk, become very destructive and are so hard to catch because they are so smart. I didn’t know until a farmer neighbor told us....I still love them though. Thank you💜
Comment: I love the postcard that you chose. Thank you very much. We get very little snow in Pendleton so when we do, everything shuts down, there is no bread or milk to be found and there is a flurry of excitement! I love it. My motto during the winter is Let it Snow! Enjoy your holiday!
Comment: Thanks for the PCs & for including an extra. My favorite is the “hat parade”. Hope the recent quake didn’t impact you in Talkeetna. My friends in Anchorage lost all their ceiling tiles and most of the dishes in their kitchen, but are feeling lucky.
Comment: Got my card - not sure why it says "happy anniversary". I rated a 5 because it was sent on time but I have to say I'm really disappointed. You didn't even bother to write anything - just slapped on a sticker.
Comment: Thank you for sharing your answers! That's cool that your username is tied to something you love. I think that's neat. I agree with you about the ratings. I think there should be more communitcation before leaving a rating that's less than a 5.
Comment: Shopping for PCs is super tough where I live too! The only ones I can find locally are the "Texas" ones at Cracker Barrel! And I love the PC... Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite movies! Thank you!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely PC! I love it here in Surprise, we just got dumped on with a bunch of rain from Rosa so half of the roads are closed. You know how easily it floods here. Happy Swapping!
Comment: Like your stamp, it's very cool. Too bad they don't put alcohol ink in a pad, it dries so much faster than other inks! Love the PC too, I'm Greek so we use oregano on everything! Didn't know it was r/t marjoram. Thank you!
Comment: Great envelope full of different things. Thank you so much! There was a 63c postage due, but thats okay, i paid it. Just wanted to let you know in case someone else had the same thing. lol Thank you again !! Loved it all.
Comment: Thanks for the pc - I have ridden this cable car to the turntable; then they make everyone get off so the people waiting can get on. We ended up walking all the way back UP the hill! Whew! Nice card! I was not as dressed up as the people on the card!
Comment: Love the vintage PC but it doesn't look like the puppy on the front is even thinking about getting up!! Personally, I've pulled myself up so many times by my bootstraps that they are worn out! Thank you!
Comment: This was in my "lost" pile of postcards that my mom misplaced. I love this!! We have an art car museum in Houston that creates art cars and has a huge parade anyone can enter and a call for artists every year, it's awesome! I'm going to take this to show the docents, they'll love it!
Comment: Love the PC, the colors are beautiful! And love the quote!! If you want "air in a bag" you need to try Butter flavored Puffed Corn! A friend of mine mixes it with melted white almond chocolate and calls it "candy crack!" Thank you!
Comment: I loved this PC and the funny thing is I met a firefighter in the ER last night that invited the place I volunteer to bring a vendor table to their huge open house for the year to showcase our next event!!!
Comment: Stubbssss!!!! Omg!!!! You have no idea how happy that PC made me - of course I loved everything, but I’ve been running around showing everyone that PC!!! Ty for everything! It was all perfect!
Comment: Thank you very much for the kind postcard! It's exciting to get one from Alaska, I must admit. Our summers here in Chicago have been very hot and very humid -- swampy for sure. Have a wonderful week Steph! :)
Comment: Love the PC, the colors are beautiful! I also find I swap with a lot of the same people but unfortunately don't have access here for a variety of PCs, unless I find them online, and then there is usually more than 1 of each! But if I get a dup, that's okay too 'cause it's the message on the back I love! Thank you!
Comment: Thanks Steph. Your card reminded me of the last time I visited Alaska & did some train-chasing on the Kenai Peninsula! The track parallels the road in places & I kept trying to beat the train to a spot where I could jump out and be ready for a photo of it coming 'round the bend with both the inlet and mountains as a backdrop. I never quite got the shot, but the engineer gave me a few toots on the whistle to let me know he appreciated my efforts!
Comment: Neat postcard! Stubbs lived a great life it seems. I was sad to see hes now in kitty heaven. My sister turned 40 last year and I always tell her that Im so glad she still gets to do some things first hehe Thanks again! <3
Comment: Why, thank you for the PC of Stubbs the Store Cat! Someone even wrote an ODE to Stubbs? That's a fact I have to remember! haha Thank you so much for the card and the well wishes! Happy Swapping!
Comment: Thanks for the wonderful cards, Steph! Love the Stubbs one-saw he died last year. Had never heard of a cat being honorary mayor, but (very coincidentally) just this morning not more than 12 hours since I got the mail last night with your envelope on the news this a.m. they were talking about a cat becoming mayor in a city here in lower 48 - Michigan maybe it was. Too funny. thanks again!
Comment: Love your "Mayor Cat", and since I love kitties I think there should be more of them! We have our own animal mayor in Texas, Clay Henry III, the goat mayor of Lajitas, who comes from his own political goat dynasty. His dad and grand-dad were both mayors of the same city before him! Thank you!
Comment: Yeah I feel ya on the “skeeters” as we call them here. Lol We had a bunch of rain a couple weeks in a row and had standing water everywhere. I had to make sure it was all dumped so we didn’t have more skeeters showing up! Lol
Comment: Ha Ha!! I will be more than glad to send you some sun and heat from Texas! We've started out with a warmer summer than what we are used to this time of year! Hope you get to use some sunscreen soon! Thank you!
Comment: Oh my gosh, what a great swap!!! I had a very stressful day today and then I got home and opened your envelope and a huge grin spread across my face! You made my day. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the superhero stickers. They are awesome!! I also LOVE the Alaska postcards you sent me. Not only are postcards one of my passions, but these are So gorgeous!! I visited your beautiful state about 25 years ago and fell in love with it. Sadly I haven't made it up there again yet, but it's definitely on my list! Thank you again for making my day!! :-)
Comment: Thank you for the picturesque King Caesar House card, Steph! Safe travels to warmer climes :) One of my aunts lives there, and I remember fondly seeing the gorgeous snow-capped scenery as we drove through Flagstaff en route to her place. Happy Halloween!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely collage of Alaskan history -- what I would give for cold weather right now :) Yahoo for snow! I am just confused how it is already November tomorrow... The Americans is on my to-binge list -- one of my co-workers who also loved reading and art recommended it to me awhile ago. Happy Halloween!
