Comment: Oh my Lori! I sometimes wish there was a special extra heart for the swappers that really go above and beyond like you! This swap was more than I could have expected. You put so much care in all the handmade items and stuffed it with so many things! I loved everything and opening it all was like opening a present. I feel so grateful that you joined my swap and that you were my partner! I hope to see you in more swaps and I hope you know that you really made my day. I loved it all, even the chocolate coin :) happy swapping! Take care and extra hearts for you! <3 <3

Comment: ohh...I love your wacky zines....I like what you did with the background on the Sept one...thinking outside the box....very cool!!and "color-fall"....my fav is crushing cans day...enjoyed doing that as a kid and collecting them...that dates me...lol...BUT...hands down my ultimate all-time favorite zine this year is this "lift the flap zine"!!!...omgh!!!...so creative and sooo fun!!!...its super cool....so glad I got one!!...thank you!....cheers!!...thanks for the labels, too with the painting...cool!
Response: I'm glad you liked everything. Your sweet comments made my day! Thank you!
Comment: Love how you made the background and added the images for the holidays to each page. The Halloween jokes zine is so much fun, very cleaver.Thank you for sending both of them and the address labels. When I use the labels I'll know I;m putting a little miracle on the envelope!
Response: I'm so glad you liked the zines. They were fun to make!
Comment: I love, love, love how you designed this month's zine!!...all the details of each page....its like reading some secret files..but in a pretty way...lol...awesome zine!!!....this was fun...love the J.L stamp with coordination envie and card, too....cheers!
Response: Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you liked the zine. This one was fun to do.
Comment: omgh...I just opened this and laughed....I have been gel printing the last couple of days...am working on multiple layering and watching a youtube vid for guidance until I get the hang of it!...I like both your zines....I like the way the black came out on the stickers...looks like a gel printed letter!...the combo on the "bad copy" all works together and looks awesome...so not a tosser...a keeper!! both turned out real nice!!....thanks for both and the goodies....cheers!
Response: Thank you for the feedback. Maybe we will see one of your gel prints as a zine background soon. Happy swapping!
Comment: Lori, thank you for the zine and the explanation of your procedure. It's always helpful to know what worked for other people and what didn't work out so well. I found out from another swapper that photos copy much better than the regular printed paper does. Now I compose my zines on the computer for the most part and then print it out of photo paper for copying onto plain paper for the final zine. And like you, I'm trying to figure out how to get the edges to look the way I want them to. Personally, I don't mind the white border at all. But I love the background techniques that you used! Thanks for a great swap!
Response: I'm glad you liked the zine. Thank you for the feedback!
Comment: Sorry it took me awhile to comment - been just working working working. Anyway, I love that you sent the "botched" one so I can see I'm not the only one who has to make mine a few times to get them right. Thanks for the lovely notecard and book page, as well as the fabulous zine!
Comment: Lori, I love your June zine! The pages look great with the way you did the layout and the color combos. Your sewing machine drawing was terrific! I had to laugh about your problems with the Smile Power face; I did a 'torn paper' postcard once that included a duck among some cattails. While the duck and the cattails weren't too hard, making that perfectly round eye by tearing paper into a circle was a real challenge!! Thanks for a fun swap!!
Response: I'm so glad you like the June zine. It does seem that the circle may be one of the most difficult shapes! But, I'm up for the challenge!
Comment: (((LORI))) Yes! Thank you so much for this swap. I never would have guessed that it was your first one you hosted. Very cool!!! I adore this ATC! Thank you for the address labels, ticket ephemera, tag, and adorable little dog stickers. You made my day!! I will swap with you again anytime.
Response: I'm glad you liked the dog ATC and the extras. It was fun to make the ATC. Thanks again for being my partner for my first hosted private swap. I'm sure we will swapping again!
Comment: Thank you so much for your great zine!Love how you coordinate Your colors and your design. Love your little drawings too.
Response: I'm happy you liked the zine and the little doodle drawings. The doodles appear easy, but the process does not come naturally to me. Practice makes perfect... but imperfect is more interesting!
Comment: good idea for a zine...to express a personal taste in creativity...btw you are an artist...never say your not one!...thanks for the "explanation" letter...enjoyed reading all about the process...cheers!
Response: I'm glad you liked the zine! Thank you for the rating and the heart!
Comment: You totally busted yourself as I would never have noticed the yellow washi. Much less obvious than my upside-down February cover! This is art, we love it and it's not perfect and we love it the more. Thanks for the embellished envelope - I'm working on learning how to make good-looking stacked embellishments so this is a good in-person example. I like the tickets, and what are the other things for? They're kind of exciting, all potential until I learn what they are, then can use them! Thanks so much and I can't wait to write millions of zines with you!
Response: I thought it would be fun for people to see I made a mistake. You're right, it's not perfect. The weird "tickets" I got at a thrift store. The roll they are on says Quickbooks. Maybe they are price or inventory tags. I hope you find a fun use for them.
Comment: cute watercolor zine!....I like all the bits of wash tape thru-out and all the little details...thanks for the adorable goodie bag...I love using tickets in my art journals...how'd ya know?...lol....cheers!
Response: I'm happy that you like the May zine and the goodie bag. I glad you will be able to use the tickets.
Comment: One of the things I like most about this swap is receiving several different people's take on the same thing. I really like how you used the paint and tape to add color and the stamps to bring each holiday to life. Great zine, thank you.
Response: Thank you for the nice feedback! I'm glad you liked the zine. Happy swapping!
Comment: Brilliant! Wonderful! OMG it ends with an actual yellow chicklet! My computer will not let me spell chicklet in any way whatsoever. Your zine is ABSOLUTE perfection, and - it really really is! Then this mini zine holder - BRILLIANT! Yeah, that pattern confused the heck out of me, so I'll use the one you sent THANK YOU SO MUCH for a template and make and decorate these. How fun. Maybe we should have a swap where we all send each other a set of 2 or 3 decorated ones... Oh, yeah, plus, super pretty envelope. And return address label. You are now on my list of faves to swap with lady! Anyway, thanks and I'm sorry for the late rating. I've not been well and am catching up tonight.
Response: Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate the feedback, and I'm so glad you liked everything. I'm inspired by this continuing zine swap and so happy you are hosting for everyone! Thank you!
Comment: this is a great zine!!!...love all the info and how you designed it...awesome!!....fav is bugs bunny day!...thanks so much for the zine mini-file, too...such a good idea!...never seen it before...will use it as a template to make another before I deco and put together....thanks so much!!!...cheers!!
Response: I'm so happy you liked everything. Thank you for the heart! Happy swapping!
Comment: Lori, let me start by saying that your envelope was beautiful with the colorful shapes on the front. I also liked that you used a bee stamp! Your zine is great too, with it's many different colorful backgrounds for each holiday you picked. I especially like Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day - that sandwich looks so yummy!!! And then you included that file box and blew my mind up with all sorts of plans for file boxes for my zines!!! I wish I could give you a hundred hearts!!! Thanks so much for such a fun swap!!!
Response: You are so sweet! I'm glad you liked everything. Thank you for the heart!
Comment: Thanks for the fabulous zine! I love the cohesive design and that you included explanations for the days. Sadly, I had no pie for today. Without your explanation I would not know the full weight of National Puppy Day. Also, thanks SO much for the return address labels. And journaling card. Have a wacky March and hope to see you in April. Hmm, I should post that...
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart! This was my first zine. I appreciate your kind words and feedback!
Comment: very cute vine!....loved the design of the pages and reading all those nuggets of info....I don't dunk or twist my Oreos...I snap them in half....extra hearts!!! for the labels...oh my gosh thank you sooo much... I got so excited when I saw them... so cute!!
I'm big into fun paperclips as well!...great job on the envelope....love that mail truck stamp! great package!! cheers!
Response: I'm glad you liked the zine. Maybe I should make another zine called "10 ways to eat an Oreo"! The envelope was just as fun to decorate as it was to create my first zine. Happy swapping!
Comment: Wow thank you so much! The coins were so beautiful and will go great in my December daily and so will the Christmas extra goodies. The paper pad and ribbon were so unexpected, I am so so grateful, thank you! I love it all.
Response: I'm so glad the package made it to you, and that you liked everything. Happy swapping!
Comment: Your ATC is amazing all the tiny details and textures. The extras are special too. I often get stuck thinking about what to use or create. It’s great to have embellishments that I can apply or mix together. Thank you!!
