Comment: Thank you for the super nice junk journal! I love the chachka bag you sent. My family swarmed over and turned the paper clips you sent into a necklace:) The journal is the best swap ever! Is the cover made out of duct tape? Also, I saw a lot of pictures in the journal; are those pictures of you? My favorite pages in the journal are the ones with little lace patterns at the edges and are light blue. Thank you so much! You deserve a thousand hearts!
Response: So glad you liked your journal. Way out of my usual color pallet. I'm an earth tone / vintage gal. The cover was made from a dollar store grocery bag that had that waterproof outside. No pics of me in the journal, but the one in the back is the closest. ;-) Oh, I used the Martha Stewart edge punch. You're so very welcome. Happy Crafting!
Comment: Michelle, thank you so much for the wonderful Mary Engelbreit card and note inside the lavishly decorated envelope. I love it all! Sure, I would like to try penpalling again! I will get a letter written and send it in the next week or so. :)
Comment: thank you so much for this atc. Thank you for doing it in snowmen. It is perfect for my Mandy Collection. And yes I finally find crafting therapeutic...I'm finding that deep grief like this is a process and I find new ways to be comforted as time passes...
Comment: You put a lot of thought in creating this pocket letter, thank you so much. Love your envelope as well. By the way here in Reno we are at 5.200' above sea level, just about like you in Denver.
Hope we'll be partners again. Have a nice summer! Barbara
Response: Thanks and glad you got the PL. would love to do a future swap. We could do a private PL. happy swapping.
Comment: Just your luck. Making a beautiful PL and then you receive a partner who does not like brown. Anyway, I love your PL anyway!!!!! Wow, you made a really great one. I immediatly tried the Bombay Chai and it is great!
Comment: Hi Michelle! Thanks so much for such a wonderful package of goodies! I love the Josephine ATC; she really came out pretty. You are a sweetheart for sending so many special goodies! I love everything! I hope you had fun with the swap -Vanne
Response: Glad you liked the ATC and Chachkas. When I read your profile, I wanted to do something nice to add to you Josephine collection. Happy Swapping!
Thank you so much for the very special pocket letter! I love every pocket and enjoyed reading your letter very much. I can see you put a lot of thought into this and it was full of special surprises. Thank you so much! My favorite part is the "sweet" banner. This was my first pocket letter swap too and I learned a lot from what you did! I am close in age to you with the same interests and born in Denver! Thanks again! And your envelope was a work of art!!! :)
Response: So very glad you enjoyed it. I've been glued to YouTube watching all of the various takes on PL creation. Really had fun.
Comment: Love love love this envelope stuffed with goodies! The ATC is awesome too! I love that you used real flowers. I just might have to use this one as a bookmark! The word Chachkas is interesting... works though, doesnt it? lol! Happy swapping friend!
Comment: Thanks for the two butterfly atcs and the extras. Love the orange one. The little branch got broken by the mail machine, but I should be able to find another little branch in my yard to replace it. I am a 54 yr old also and live in Ft Collins!
Response: Thanks! Sorry about the branch, but glad you got the two ATC's. I have plenty branches from a scrangy plumb tree in front of my office. Will send you some. The orange tag was done using TimHoltz march tag technique. We need to have a scrap meet! Any cool stores up your way. Just found two, Golden and COS, since Archivers has closed. Have you tried the pocket letter thingy? Doing my first in May. Don't be surprised if you get one in the mail. Happy Swapping!
Comment: Thanks so much for the ATC! I can tell you definitely went above & beyond for this swap! The embossed, stamped, and painted envelope you made is just beautiful! I also love the extra ATC papers, the stamped sunflower, etc.! Thanks so much! :)
Comment: This is such a freakin awesome ATC! I absolutely adore it! You should not have been intemindated, do whacha do, you do it so well :-) thank you for the extras. I have to confess. I have had then envelope for over a week, I didn't want to open it because it was so beautiful lol.thank you so so much :-)
Response: As the coordinator, you are so very kind. I felt it was "inspired", but honestly wasn't sure if I was supposed to actually draw (not my lane) a design. Thanks for the swappin' luv! Sometimes we "artist" are harder on ourselves!
Comment: Thank you so much for an AWESOME swap & all the personal touches. I loved, loved, loved the mail art envie. I thought that was so neat I would never have thought of that it looks fun to try. Also the extras, "Chachkas", what a beautiful little bag of goodies. I've never seen that before, but wow very nice. Did you stamp it or draw it? If you say you drew it, I am so envious, but come to think of it if you stamped it I still would be envious because I can't do that very well either.Lol Anyways thank you so much for everything. Tons of hearts to you. xoxo :)
Comment: Thank you for the delightful and generous beautiful envelope filled with surprises. You sure put a lot of creativity in to the envelope, it's gorgeous and all the surprises inside are awesome. I love the stationary, the "true love" stickers and the washi tape, the chachkas will be used in my art soon. Thanks again :)
Comment: Very clever with the little snow shaker fox top , I was impressed and plan to show your design to a friend who is always looking for novel recycling crafts for her youth group. Beautiful color balance too, thank you ;)
Comment: Hi Michelle, I received your package this morning and it made my day! You deserve more than one heart! What a novel idea with the butterflies.. The Envie is definitely me! And the "chachkas" will definitely be used in future swaps! Happy swapping, Sandy
Comment: Dear Bybruton, I am absolutely thrilled to have received your postcard today. Not only is it gorgeous, but it is the first swap of any kind that I have ever received. I love the color scheme, your hand writing is so lovely, and I NEED to find that teapot lamp!! Thank you for making my first swap so special!!! Cheers!
Response: So glad you liked the postcard. I get a catalog (Victorian Trading) that I use in a lot of my mail art projects. Welcome to the party. Happy Swapping! PS: lamp can be found in the catalog ;-)
Comment: Michelle - I'm totally speechless. Your package was not only beautiful, it was creative, thoughtful, and very generous!! You made my whole month! I don't think I can thank you enough for everything you did. I'd give you 100 stars if I could!! You're amazing!!!
Response: So glad you received and liked my swap to you. This is my "therapy" and I love the idea of bringing a smile to someone's face when they pull one of my "swaps" out of their mailbox. Happy Swapping!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful envie and all the goodies inside. Thank you also for the letter. You sound like such a nice person that understands life. If you would like to be pen friends that would be great
Response: I'd love to keep in touch, but will warn you, my writing is atrocious. Think I'll take up caligraphy (sp) next, so that folks can read my writing.
Comment: Beautiful atc Love your art. And thank you for the mini album(awesome) and the Chachkas( Name I never heard of before) but love the term and the extras. Many hearts to you. And many Thanks. Hugs, Carol
Comment: Michelle ~ If I could give you 5 hearts, I would! I love the Victorian Mr Selfridge decorated envelope; your creativity astounds me! I took a peek into some of your altered items on Pinterest and I love the art you create! The goodies inside are terrific and I adore the little "tags" too! I showed this gorgeous envelope to my friend today and she's now intrigued by this site (she's an artist too). I got a kick about your comment about the I.E. - small world! Have a great day and thank you again!!
Comment: I love the ATC you made me and the bag you sent the extras in whereever did you get itAlso love the envie you made..35 years ago I lived in Denver for about 9 years.Oh how i love the mountains.I'm sorry I ever left.
Response: Thanks for the <3 ! Purchased over sized tea bags (box 100) from the net for less than $7. Sister and I split the box;home made tub tea for her and stampable envelopes for me. I leave, but like a boomerang, seem to come back to the 5280. Home is home. Happy Swapping!
Comment: This is one of the COOLEST ATC's I've ever gotten ! The 4th of July is my favorite holiday & I just LOVE your ATC !! Thank you so much !! The envie was totally neat also !! :) Thank you for the extras also !! <3
Response: Truly my pleasure. Still feel new to this swapping game, but love sending out a little piece of me in ATC form. Happy Swapping!
Comment: I love the ATC. I had a hard time with this one. I love what you did with the thread. Great idea. Please do not feel intimidated by the art prof title. I have seen a lot of great ATCs and everyone, for the most part, gives it their all. Thank you for the extras. I loved your little envelope and the big envelope. Very nice! A great swap! Speaking of getting stuck in Denver, in the old days when I would fly to Albuquerque, I would end up getting stopped overnight in Denver many times. When I get stopped the next time, I will holler at you. Thank you again.
Response: Okay, so I thought I responded to this, but maybe I don't have it all down yet ;-)
Thanks for the kind words. This ATC let me know that I better stick to stamping and mixed media. Drawing isn't my thing at all. Please do give me a jingle if you find yourself in the 5280. Love this swapping stuff!
Comment: Thank you for the ATC. Also thank you for the extras.
Response: Hello there and sorry for the slow response. I'm a little behind ;-)
Hope you can use the "extras" on a future project. I've started my "swapbot" stash to use on future swaps. Happy Swapping!
Comment: I LOVE the 'bird watching' ATC you sent to me. The decorated envelope is lovely and very creative. I made sure to open it carefully so I did not wreck it. And all the other extras too! What a thoughtful and perfectly delightful package to receive. Thank you so much!
Response: Just reading through these comments and I thought I'd responded ;-) oh well it was a treat being able to look on your profile and find something that you liked. Happy Swapping!
Comment: Hello namesake!!! Love the ATC! Very beautiful! Thank you so much! And thank you for the extras!!! Cool stuff I can't wait to use!!!
Response: Hello back and sorry for the late response. Glad you liked the ATC and love sending little surprises along with the swap. We get enough junk mail, bills, etc., so a little gifty / chachkas are welcome surprises. Happy Swapping!
Comment: I want to throw a bunch of hearts at you! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 First, the envie - gorgeous! I couldn't stop touching it and didn't want to open it for some time just because the feel was so nice. Then, inside, a sweet note that I read twice. Loved the list of items included - and the items themselves! I will have such fun using them on mail art projects. Thank you SO SO much!
Response: Boy was that quick. Gotta love the USPO. So glad you liked the Decorated Envie. I really enjoy creating mail art, and your bio had just the right stuff. All you need is some mod podge and pretty paper cut outs. I did use THoltz distress paints and some glimmer mist for the base. Hope you caught the "letter writing" theme. Glad you enjoyed it! Happy Swapping
Comment: Thank you for your wonderful ATC I love it! Please can you tell me how you made the glossy look on the green flower and what product you used? It makes the flower stand out so much! Also how did you manage to make a perfect shaped envelope? Just as an FYI since you are a newbie, some members here like a little note with the swap name and maybe a greeting like how are you included in the envelope. I am only telling you this since as a newbie I was told my a member that she could not figure out what swap it was without a note....and another member told me I was rude for not sending at least a piece of paper with the swap name and asking how the person is or have a good day or something like that.
Response: Thanks for your comments, especially the ones to help this newbie. Totally makes sense to add a note or something, I was just trying to get it to you as fast as I could ;-0
There's a group that was suggested for me to join to help navigate the process. Guess I will, but your tips are extremely appreciated. I just went by the directions, but will add a note on the next one ;-)
The flower was from a book called Floral & Nature which includes beautiful images that you can use directly, color copy or print on paper / fabric using the included CD. After fussy cutting the image, I just piled on the Glossy Accents (Ranger product). The envelop came in a package of 25 with folded note cards. I love the paper because I've just started doing "mail art" and the thickness can withstand gesso, paints, stencils, and mod podge. I'll look to see if there's still a label on the package and forward to you.
Well I'm so glad you received #3 and I do hope you and yours are well. Take good care and Happy Swapping!
