Comment: Wow! What a week you had! I'm glad you all made it through the fires. So scary! I caption news stations in Northern Cali and it sounde really terrifying Thanks too for the beautiful handmade card. It's lovely! Did you use markers to color the drawing? I'm trying to get better at drawing, and I love botanicals. We do have squirrels here now, but I don't remember them when I was growing up. So they moved here, too and adapted!
Comment: What a nice photograph of Mt. Shasta! It almost doesn't even look real, so I can understand why people would say there are UFOs there. Thank you also for the total solar eclipse stamp. I've never gotten one of those before... so cool!
Comment: Hi Archer! Thanks for the beautiful postcard! My aunt & uncle live in central California and were just here visiting for 3 weeks. My husband and I loved seeing California when we went to visit them. So glad you have your electricity back! Happy October!
Comment: Thank you for this awesome “fall” postcard! It’s so cheerful and sturdy! Love it - ya made my day today!
Response: So glad you liked it. It has been a long time since I have done collage and when I was making it I thought maybe I had lost my touch. I was hoping it would be something you could hang up for a little bit as a salute to fall. Happy Swapping :)
Comment: This card is so cool! That's why I love this swap bc perspectives are different. I love this random vintage type card, but I'm always hesitant to send them out. I'd love to see one of your dioramas! And hi back to Archer :):):) THANKS!
Response: I am glad you liked it. I agree with you about sending out vintage PCs. Some of my cards are of some pretty ugly things like old hotels. I will need to get brave and swap them. Dioramas are the best! Happy Swapping 😊
Comment: Thanks for this pretty postcard resend! My husband and son, stayed by a lighthouse on Devil's Island, the Apostle Islands, on Lake Superior. It would be fun to be a caretaker of one over the summer! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: I am glad it made it. The recycle portion is the mat board. It is recycled from our local framing shop. I like to paint on them when I just want to doodle...etc. I like to visit light houses along the western coastline. They are all so different. 😊
Comment: LOLOL had a blast reading your pc!! Gonna guess #2 ain't right (your son breed african violets:) but hey, they are all awesome! Thanks for swapping!
Response: LOL it was so hard to come up with a lie. I had to rack my brain... #2 as crazy as it seemed is true. It was #3 that was a lie. I love insects and like to draw and paint them. I loved the swap. Thank you for hosting it.. =)
Comment: Wow, thank you SO much for that piece of Arizona turquoise! :) I didn't have one of those yet so it's a great addition to my collection. (Unfortunately, the area I live in is very boring geology-wise, so I don't collect any local rocks.) Also, I really love your mail art!
Comment: Thanks for the pretty pink PC! Our snowfall varies. I don't actually know what is typical, lol. Some years we get 12" plus blizzard and some years only small snows from a dusting to a few inches. Either way it always melts quickly because of our grorgeous sunshine!
Comment: Michelle, I received your package with the multitude of beautiful stamps of so many varieties! Thank you! I collected stamps when I was growing up and then again when my sons were small and I really appreciate the beauty of these little pieces of art! I had to laugh at the 'yes/no' cats on the back of the envelope! Thank you so much for the beautiful kitchen towel and all the extras you included. Even the paper you wrote your letter on was something from my profile: the tree silhouette on the bottom is so nice! This was a great swap and I'm so happy that I had you as a partner!!! Thanks so much!
Comment: Fun commerative bridge PC! I have enjoyed my visits to San Francisco! I used to collect coins with 1976 butnotdo much anymore. I do have a commerative set my grandpa bought me with 3 coins in it, I believe. A Dollar, half dollar...and probably a quarter? I should look at it again. :) It's put away...
Comment: Thanks for this excellent PC! Dusty is waving hi to Archer! We have had only a very few sunny days up here too, this summer. Our temps have been in the 50s for the most part. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Comment: Got the awesome postcard :) Those forest fires are really bad here at times too. I hope you guys get some good rain without the lightning storms to help douse it. Tell Archer - Romeo, Willow and Dallas say hello fellow furkid :)
Comment: Hej Very...,
Wow, does Archer ever look like Kitkat!
Everyone pretty much gets along. The girls, Growl and Meow, will be 15 this summer and just want to be left alone now (even more so than is typical for a cat). Kit (now 4) cannot figure out why they do not want to play with him. Spooky does her own thing and Boots just wants to love everyone.
Love the PCs you sent and the note paper!
Comment: Dr. Archer Paws. . . . I can see who is the boss at your house . . the advantages of being an only kitty . . . Thank you for the toys and treats and Mom is so excited about the Meinzer postcard! Cheers!!!! We look forward to writing back!
Comment: Love, love LOVE this! I enjoyed reading about your fur baby - “iron paw” lmao! That had me going - heck, I’m still giggling! ❤️ The rest was very sweet of you - thank you!! I definitely want to put those in my window, but I’m sure you understand the problem of a curious kitty! Lol Again, thanks x1000 🙃
Comment: A+ for UGLY and the craziest card Ive ever received!! LOL!!!!
Response: Oh I just discovered a pile of PCs uglier than that! Who thought it would be possible! Why on earth would someone wake up in the morning and say... I am going to make a postcard as ugly as possible... Well at least it keeps things interesting ☺
Comment: Thank you so much for the prompt resend- and such a lovely pc! So you have 4 seasons in northern Cali? Snow? I guess that makes it the perfect place lol I only know southern Cali, born and raised there.
Comment: Kitty is SO happy, she hasn't ever had that many new things all at once! Great, great swap, purrrrrrrrfect!!!!
Response: awww I want to know which toys she winds up liking the most. If you squeeze the fish it will reactivate the catnip stuffing inside. Archer really likes the toy that gets pulled. He really wanted to hide it and keep it =)
Comment: Michelle, this might be the best handmade postcard I've ever received. :) 1. I love the theme and the sentiment. 2. I love the technique, and the way the coffee beans move under the overlay. (How did you color the coffee cup?) 3. Your message on the back was wonderfully humorous and I like the little picture of Archer. Just a great, great piece of mail. Thank you SO much!
Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. I will send notes on how I made it. I had a lot of fun making it. I knew it had to be about coffee, because I love coffee too=)
Comment: Loved the images you used on the envelope. Also, love the bookmarks - I have never used that kind but look forward to trying them.
I thoroughly enjoyed your letter. Sounds like we could be family. I have two dollhouses and hubby is working on a third. I look forward to filling them. Thanks for the visit.
Response: I am so glad it made it safely =) 3 Doll houses is very exciting... I should have asked you what scale they were. I hope you post lots of pictures.
Comment: Oh you know I love Poe and what a fun postcard-very green but then that's the point. It is going in my special Poe things area in my crafting room-thanks for adding to my collection-wonderful! My three kitties say hi back!
Response: I had fun trying to figure out a Poe theme. I wish my sewing machine foot hadn't been sticking. You are right... it was very green =)
Comment: Hi Michelle!
I love my "gats!" SOOOOO cute! And mushrooms! Another favorite. Your watercolor is amazing and the sewn green outline really finishes it off--just like a frame! Thanks for creating something so special for me.
Response: I am so happy it arrived safely. I never know what the post office is capable of =)~ I had fun figuring out something to make from your profile... Everyone needs some "gats"
Comment: Love, love, love! He's so fabulous. Thank you so much for the swap. I feel like the kitty wasn't nearly as fabulous as Mr. Pinkerton. If you ever want to swap again, just let me know. Thank you so much.
Response: I am soooo happy you loved him. He was really fun to make. He has a lot of personality. Your kitty has found a special place with some other kitties =) We will have to do it again =)
Comment: Oh, I was so happy to get the Longboard!! I am going to have to go looking for it! I would love the words in the bottlecaps :) I need to find a web platform to post paper hat pictures on, but PM me and I will send you one for fun. Maybe one with a stingray on it, just for Archer to appreciate?
Response: OOOOooo... Archer would love a stingray. He can't even imagine one=) The words under the cap are great. I can't remember but we had another beer that had rock, paper, scissors under the cap=)
Comment: Thanks so much for the lovely package! I loved the drawing on the outside - I told my cats your cat says hello, but they were too busy snoozing in the sun, haha!
The ore was really cool - I'm going to put it on my typesetter's tray shelf. And oddly enough I recently found a rock hammer when we were cleaning out some of my in-law's stuff. So I just smacked the geode and now have some lovely quartz-y goodness. I was so happy to receive the geode because I've never cracked one myself before! And the postcard you included was a nice surprise. :)
Response: I am so glad that you liked them. I really wanted you to have a Geode to crack. My family loves to open rocks, you never know what is inside. I hope it was pretty. The postcard is from the mine. Now that you have a rock hammer you will have to go out and rock hound =)
Comment: SUCH! a cool postcard. I love, love, love it :) The 3D thing is pretty cool and I love that you sewed it shut. Thank you for filling my mailbox with fantastico :)
Response: I am so glad it made it. I wanted to make sure the glitter didn't make a mess so I originally put tape on it. Then I started thinking that my postal carrier would rip it up looking at, so I sewed it down to keep it all together =)
Comment: Aww... Cute card! Love your doodles too! Henry isn't totally an angel! He's been to the vet a few times himself! He has a tendency to swallow things like string. I have to keep the floor very clean, and after one very big vet bill I bought pet insurance!
Response: I have giant vet bills... I think he may be uninsurable, due to his prior record =)~
Comment: Thank you for the lovely postcard! I've actually been to the Fisherman's Wharf! That's one of the very few places I've seen in the US. It was so pretty, I loved it there. I hope I get to go back one day.
Response: I am glad you liked it. I love to go to fisherman's Wharf. It has changed a lot since that picture was taken =)
Comment: What a beautiful button book you made me! I am so impressed with the amount of detail you added on such a tiny scale, and the fabrics you sent me will be used very soon. This package was just amazing! And the lavender...LOVELY!!! Thanks so much.
Response: I am so happy it is there and you like it.... I was so excited about this swap. I had so much fun making the tiny version of the owl & the pussycat. I can't wait to make another =)
Comment: Thank you sooo much! What a fun package! I love your doodles-amazing! All the extras and a letter- wowzee! My family plays the doodle game too. Siam Zia says mroow to Archer. My cat talks, but all she does is complain-seriously.
Response: I am so glad that you enjoyed it. I had fun putting it together. I really had my heart set on writing you a letter so it took me awhile to find a quiet moment=) I would love it if Archer talked more... He uses sign language more often. He only really talks when he is watching wild life or is hungry....
Comment: Thanks for the Statue of Liberty postcard, and the yummy recipe for an easy oatmeal cookie to make..Oatmeal raisin is my favorite kind of cookie, I think of it being ' healthy":....anita
Response: I am glad it made it. I was wondering if it would get torn up. My postman mauled it to see if it would hold up in the mail and made me tape it more. My husband thinks oatmeal cookie are "healthy" too =)
Comment: Thank you so much for the postcard! I lived most of my life in the Austin area of TX, lived in Dallas for a little bit, and have only been to El Paso once driving through when we moved to CA. :) Oh, and Starbucks says hi back to Archer, I loved the drawing!!
Response: Austin is a beautiful part of Texas =) I am glad you liked the drawing =)
Comment: Picked up my mail this morning. LOVE the cat! At first, I thought it was a fish (I saw the back first), so I got two smiles out of it. By the way, we just got 5 inches of wet heavy snow, so it doesn't feel like spring yet. Say "hi" back to Archer!
Response: Oh my gosh... Not Snow ! We are well into spring, but every once in awhile we get crazy snow in May. It really causes trouble. I am glad my chunk made you smile=)
Comment: Racoons.....we have none really right where I live but we have a possum I believe that drives my Mikey boy nuts Mikey says HI to Archer.... Thank you for this wonderful postcard and I LOVE the stamp too.....
Response: Ohhhh... Archer and I would love to see Possums. I know we have some around here. I just never see them=) I always try to find fun stamps because I get so excited when I receive them =)
Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely package. Yes Easter is gone, but it doesn't matter :) Next year it comes again :D And I love bunnies so I can put the pink bunny into my bookshelf. You had wrapped so beautiful packages for me :)
Response: I am so glad it arrived=) I was starting to worry. We will have to start earlier if we want a swap to arrive in time for a holiday =)
Comment: Hi Michelle: Thanks so much for the adorable postcard. I just love it. Your artwork of the cat and your handwriting are absolutely beautiful and very impressive. We did get a lot of snow this year, and in fact, getting some sleet right now. I also think it is really cool that even though we are 3,000 miles away we can each look out our windows and see the same wildlife, in particular the turkeys. Like Archer, my cat Lucy is a strictly indoor cat and enjoys looking out all the birds, squirrels, turkey, deer, etc that enjoy our yard. Happy Swapping, Michelle and thanks again...great card! :)
Response: I like the name Lucy. I am glad you like the card... I hope Spring comes for you soon =)
Comment: Dear Michelle, I got your lovely, LOVELY package today! It was BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you so much for putting so much love and effort in it. The bookcover is very pretty and I am eternally grateful to you for sending the book! I haven't got P&P in English yet, only the Czech translation. This made my day! I'm wearing the pins on my jacket tomorrow <3 If only there were more swappers like you <3
Response: I wanted to make the book cover special for you. I am glad you didn't already have a copy of the book. I like that copy because it was small enough to take along with you when you were out and about. I was surprised and happy when I found the pins=)
Comment: I have received amazing postcard! Thank you very much! It had an interesting story :) this PC by mistake brought into another house., But my friend lives there and she saw it and took for me. I am very happy!
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful selection of pretty, vibrant ribbons, and the decorative tape. It is so cute how you wrapped the tape. Receiving the lovely herb motif envelope on the first day of spring was so pleasant.
Response: I am glad you liked it. I had fun going through some of my ribbons. It seems like the more I use of stuff, the more I have =) I hope you get to make something fun with it =)
Comment: Hi Michelle! Thank you so much for all the great ribbon and extras. I can definitely use the charm on one of my creations - THANKS!! I will be using my ribbon pieces for a cute, crazy brithday hat for my grandson's 2nd b-day!! I can't wait to make it. Thanks again. :)
Response: I am glad the ribbon will be used in such a special way =)
Comment: Thank you very much for this great postcard!!!!!!! This is amazing! I really love to watch in the internet postcards "Alfred Mainzer Cats". But I never thought that I will have that!
And when I received your card, I was very happy! Adore it!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥
Response: I am so happy it arrived. I was worried. I am glad you liked it, I thought your children would like it =) It was a cute card.
Comment: Wow!! If only I could give you more than one heart I would. What an awesome surprise to come home too. Absolutely loved the envelope and the way you did your packaging for the chocolate!! Thank you for that btw, I love those candy bars and I have not tried that one yet. I would do a private swap with you any day! =)
Response: I am glad you enjoyed it =) We love that brand of chocolate at my house. That flavor is pretty yummy. My husband was hoping it was for him...LOL.
Comment: Love the card! We got 5 1/2 inches one day in January. Wish we could have a day like that every month. :)
Response: WOW... that is a lot for one day. We got 11 1/2 in a four day period and it caused this: http://www.mcguiresplace.net/Stories/Mother%20Nature%20Stirs%20It%20Up%202012/ Now we are just waiting for rain or snow. We have warm sun- Strange.
Comment: Wow! This was crammed with so many extra goodies!!! I had a long, hard day and it was so awesome to come home to such goodness. The envelope was spectacular :) I loved the grapes and "Bunches of Love" quote :)
Response: Thank you... I am glad you liked it. I had a lot of fun making it for you.
Comment: Received your very cute and comical kitty postcard this evening! It made me (and the hubs) smile. Thanks for the interesting kitty facts - two of them! Very interesting to read and learn. Cheers!
