I've seen several similar swaps, but nothing else is up right now that works for me. ;)

This is a simple swap. Fill a small USPS flat rate box with items you already own. Send it to your partner. Your only cost is shipping. That runs $4.95.

Take a look at your partner's profile and think about what you have that they may love. Cute stationary? Unused postcards? Unique cloth or ribbon you've collected? A book you've already read? You can make something special, if you're so inclined, too. The idea is to send your partner a box STUFFED with things that are still in good condition, but not useful to you personally.

ETA- Just for clarity's sake - The point isn't how much the completely useless item you need a good excuse to unload was originally worth....it's to trade something that's completely useless to you and taking up space - but that you are holding on to because you want it to go to someone that will use it. Not everyone has these things sitting around, but most do. If you don't have this problem, this is definitely not the swap for you! =D

A thought...maybe you should choose one size box for the swap that all must use...if someone sends a large $13.95 box full of stuff and receive a small $4.95 box in return, there will probably be disappointment. Just a thought. :)

Yeah, I would be super angry if I sent a big box, costing $14 to send, not including the $20-$30 on the stuff inside to get a $5 tiny box full of things that amount to <$5. Or you could put a dollar amount. Like $5-10 or $10-20.

Yeah, maybe a value would be good - what is there is something odd-sized that won't fit in a small box but still is not high value? I might choose to send a bigger box in that case.

I saw a similar swap that has swapees all using Quaker oatmeal-like boxes, so there's would be about the same in size. You might want to say small or medium. A large bow would be a bit too costly for uncertainties.

I do like the idea of this swap, but like the above notes, I don't want to go and send a larger sized box only to get a small one in return...

That makes sense. Thanks for the tip. =)

Is there going to be a dollar amount on how much to spend? I hate to spend a lot and then receive a box with only $2 to $3 worth of stuff

incorrigible 11/ 4/2011 #

The dollar amount is $0. The idea is to spend absolutely nothing more than shipping, just send off stuff you don't need - that someone else might like. I may send off 4-5 DVDs that are sitting around collecting dust, and receive a box of stickers and bouncy balls for my kids. The point isn't how much the completely useless item you need a good excuse to unload was originally worth....it's to trade something that's completely useless to you and taking up space - but that you are holding on to because you want it to go to someone that will use it. Not everyone has these things sitting around, but most do. If you don't have this problem, this is definitely not the swap for you! =D

I LOVE the idea of this swap! Thanks for allowing me to join! I'm on the hunt in my "treasure box" for goodies to send to my partner!

I need to send a Queen bed...Anyone want it??

HAHA LOL j/lk

Anyways this sounds pretty good!! But I might send some good stuff to get some stickers, envies, and little things...I understand what you said about it's not the amount because they are just sitting around USELESS, but I would in a way be disappointed!! I'll think about it, and think about joining!!

I'm not really worried about what I will get as long as it is a small flat rate box filled with something. I think this is a wonderful idea and have already started collecting my stuff to send. Problem is the box isn't big enough for all my good worthless stuff. LOL

So sad, I got flaked on this one. I have to wonder why a person who was only on swap-bot 3 days and didn't complete any swaps was accepted in this one.
