For this swap, you will hand-craft a choker necklace for your swap partner. It can be goth-y, indie, vintage, recreationist, etc. You can use whatever method is appropriate for making this piece of jewelry, but it should be durable enough to withstand wear (i.e., most papercrafts won't hold up). Remember that the back of the choker is important, too, so take care with your clasp selection. With chokers, the wearer should be able to remove the choker without seeing it, and the choker should be adjustable so the wearer can get a snug fit. Some clasp suggestions include a chain+lobster claw, a magnetic clasp, a toggle clasp, or even a simple velcro overlap for velvet/ribbon chokers. The ring-style clasps are not recommended, as they are difficult to manipulate behind your head without being able to see. A simple "tie" clasp for ribbon chokers is also not recommended-- have you ever tried to tie a neat bow from behind your head? Newbies and swappers with good history (as determined by my somewhat dubious judgment) are welcome. This is an international swap. Please note: the swap hostess will be out of the country the week this swap ends. If you have trouble, please PM me and I will get back to you as soon as I return. |
