Description:

I am a huge fan of a good education. I feel there are so many people that miss out on what a good education does to someones life. This swap is to help show your kids that education is important to you as well!

For the swap I want you to go to your childs school and do something that will help improve it in some way. This can be a number of things. For example every month I bring cookies (store bought as they don't allow home made goodies anymore) to my childrens teachers so that the teachers can give them out in class to the kids in the class that has completed some preset goal. Other ideas are to go and offer some of your time to tutor/correct papers/etc. You could go and ask the school if there is any particular equipment that they need. Sports equipment, jump ropes, fun erasers to give as prizes, boxes of tissues for the poor little noses, books for their library, etc. You could go and help the pta with a event. Donate money to the pta. Etc etc

The actual swap for this will be done by swap-bot messages. You will have 2 (two) partners. Once you have completed your task send your partners a message saying what it was. Feel free to include how it made you feel, responses from your kids, etc. I find the kids who are in my childrens classes really love the monthly cookies. My daughters comment that they get really excited to get them :)

I will let anyone in this swap. I dont care if you're new. I dont care if you've got horrible ratings. This is a swap to help improve education not only for you and your family but to show other kids that its important too. You can do your task as soon as you want. You don't need to wait for partners to be assigned to do it. :)

I would love to participate but the timing of this swap is awkward as it coincides with many school's winter breaks, making volunteerism impossible. If this were timed differently I would happily join. As it is you've inspired me to volunteer next semester.

I left the send date open longer for this very reason. You don't have to have it completed until January 18th :)
