Description:

This is the first time that I have sponsored a swap, so I will gladly accept any helpful advice. I hope that if all goes well and we have enough participants I would like to do one for every month of 2012 and if anyone else has sponsored this swap please say so and be recognized.
JANUARY theme is "warm me up", using any coffee, tea, or cocoa deco items. For example: piping hot mugs, tea bag wrappers, tea or coffee pots and anything that goes with it-senders choice. Youtube has some very impressive handmade gift tags by Tim Holtz and a Google image search for handmade gift tags inspired me to give this paper craft a try and mine turned out pretty . No one has to get as elaborate as Tim's, but by coloring in the back ground and adding a little this 'n' that really makes it come alive. The requirements are as follows:

3 x 5 or 3 x 6 inches

must have coffee, tea or cocoa related decor on it

at least 5 dimensional items (buttons, ribbon, lace anything nice)

at least 2 pretty colors of yarn for string.

please send on time and use bubble wrap envies.

  • No recent 1's allowed and no 3's in the last 10 swaps and must have a rating of 4.5 or higher.

I can not angel 12 months worth, but let me know if you encounter a flaker and I will try to contact them and kindly straighten it out. I highly recommend not flaking so that your name does not pop up everywhere.

February's theme will be "Valentines Day"....coming soon :)

Two tips for crafters-tags can easily be made from file folders and when coloring in any paper craft I have found that there is no need to buy expensive powders as powdered eye shadow works fine.

This is a great idea!!! I will have to try the eyeshadow tip. Is it just one tag?

I made all my Christmas tags using cereal boxes - covered one side with wrapping paper and the other with fabric, ribbon, buttons and embellishments - everyone loved their hand made tags. Thanks for including Canada in this swap

Yes just one tag. This way any one who has not done this should not intimidated by having to do too many, but I want to do one each month with different themes. I like your re-use idea with the cereal boxes. 2 more tips :) if anyone is considering getting a Cuttlebug for embossingin the future just buy the templates and not the machine....a rolling pin works just fine ...also if you work with clay and have clear nail polish, use it as a finish coat. My screen name should have been saveabuck-lol.
