I recently joined a swap hosted by jandmterry doing the blackout poetry and I loved it. I talked to her first before creating this swap about taking it one step further. So here it goes. For this swap, you will photocopy a page from your favorite book, then blackout all but a few words creating a poem from the words. Wait I said journal didn't I? I (with the help of jandmterry) decided NOT to actually mail journals around but to have a swap created to be able to put into your own journal. My recommendation it to get a composition notebook as I think it will be about the right size for any of the swaps you get. Decorate your journal to your liking and fill it with your blackout poetry as you receive them. To make this nice for people to put in their journal your info will NOT be on the back like with so many swaps. You will put (my recommendation)your name, date, location (i.e. city, state country it's always nice to see where your swaps came from) and final poetry words on a separate paper to be put into your journal on a facing page. You will have 2 partners and will send a different photocopied blackout poem to each of them(you can always send more if you feel inspired). Some of you may have books you use for crafting, if you want to use an actual book page that is fine. You can decorate it if you wish, but it is not a requirement. Use your imagination and have fun! Send something you would like to receive. A rating of 4.8 or above please to participate in this swap. Message me if you are lower, just no flakers please. Newbies welcome. If people show an active interest in this then I will do at least 1 a month so our journals will start to fill up. |
