Description:

This is my first time hosting a swap, so I'm starting small, literally ;)

I've done a couple of whimsey jars now, and I LOVE them, but they can get costly as far as shipping prices go with using larger jars, so why not do a "mini whimsey jar" Think baby-food sized jars (2nd or 3rd stage, I think they're around 4 or 6 oz.) Just fill it with cute happy things that your partner will like such as beads, charms, buttons, little handmade items, anything to make them smile. I've seen tons of cute little items like this at michaels, a.c. moore, joanns and iparty to name a few.

Since it is a mini jar, I'm keeping this open internationally. :)

PLEASE NO FLAKERS, IT SPOILS THE FUN FOR EVERYONE!

Thanks and have fun!

I'm watching for now but will more then likely join. Do you have a round about idea on shipping costs?

BennysMumma 03/20/2012 #

I'm not 100% sure, but the last jar I sent (and it was a 16 oz jar) was around $7, so probably no more than 5 if you get someone from the USA, a little more overseas. But like I said, not quite sure, it'll also depend on how heavy or light your jar is.

dukono 03/20/2012 #

I would join but in an international swap I got matched (2 different times) with people in Singapore and the cost to send something 6 oz was $10+.....way to rich for my blood:(

isabellasnow 03/20/2012 #

I agree with the international component--it's so expensive to send overseas but I would love to join a USA only.

@isabellasnow and @dukono I just added a USA version if you'd prefer to join that one instead :)

BleedingBlack 03/20/2012 #

Cool I just saw the USA only one, I'll join that one! :)

Since this is international... Can I send a "plastic" jar insted of glass jar?

BennysMumma 03/21/2012 #

showniez, yes plastic is fine

dukono 03/21/2012 #

I sent an easter whimsey jar to South Carolina,it was glass and stuffed to the max adn it was a larger than 16oz. jar. I shipped it UPS and they packed it for me,I almost fainted at the cost....$18.38.I think I spent $7 to stuff it. So I am gun shy,it was my first time. I am not begrudgeing the cost of fun,but for something that most people can pick up themselves,I just don;t see the point.I have yet to receive mine.Tomorrow is the last day for them to be shipped.

MizzKodak 04/ 2/2012 #

the smallest jar size I have is 10 ounces

BennysMumma 04/ 3/2012 #

@mizzkodak - another swapper on my other swap said that she got a 2nd stage of baby food from walmart for $.50 and fed it to her dog who loved it. just a thought :)
