Description:

A mother’s work is never done. And when you want to keep your clothes clean, but you still have to do the dishes, make supper, mop the floors, and referee the kids’ mud wrestling match, what are you supposed to do? Your supposed to thank your lucky stars that your swap partner sent you a great gift!

This is designed for moms, moms to be, ex moms, and even dadmoms.

In this swap you will have one partner, and you will be sending the following: 1) A ½ apron. This is the kind that only covers your legs, and ties at the waist. This can be homemade, or maybe you have an old one that you never used. You can also try shopping at an antique store for a real old fashioned one. Try to match the apron with something from your partners profile, for hearts. Get creative with this! Knit, crochet, sew, or embrioder one. A handmade apron is much more heartfelt! You could even make a new one out of a set of old curtains from the thrift store! If purchasing an apron, please try to keep it under $10.00. If making one, please keep material costs about the same.

2) A cookie recipe – Your favorite cookie recipe. Because who doesn’t like cookies?

3) A wooden Spoon – Put a bow on it, buy a fancy expensive bamboo one, or carve it yourself! Either way, send a wooden spoon to mix up that cookie dough with. Please try to keep this around $3.00. How much can wooden spoons cost?

Since this is a mothers day swap, the send date will be 8 days before mothers day, to allow time for shipping. This is an International swap, too! So everybody can join in on the apron making! This swap is Newbie Friendly! My mom and I will be angeling packages personally, but we would rather not have to. The purpose of the swap is getting the items from someone you don’t know!

You will have 5 weeks, to allow time for making the apron, or finding it. Whichever you choose. Happy Mothers Day!

This swap is done in collaboration with Happydollmaker, as it was her idea.

If you have any questions, please e-mail or message me.

I have an apron collection going on 50 strong to draw from, or I'll make a new one, which ever it is, it'll be perfect, (I hope). Me, I love aprons with pockets.

I have an area for 'apron swap info' on my profile to help my partner with my size (small) and other likes, etc.

Can't wait to get started!

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to drop from this swap. I have too many other commitments right now and just don't have the time I need to devote to Swap Bot :(

Completely loving the idea of this one! Personally, I wear my aprons--I have 2, one full and one half--every single day when I cook. Getting one from a stranger now, and sending a special one to someone new, just too cool. I'm in!

niecedenise 03/27/2008 #

I'm with dandelionmom, please make mine with longer than usual strings. I am definitelty a large person.

MadameCaligula 03/28/2008 #

I'm so sorry, but I have to withdraw. My schedule has just hiked up by about ten, and I'm not gonna have the time to make or personalize one with as much attention or detail as I would like to give. Sorry!

SweetClementine 03/29/2008 #

I would love an apron appropriate for regular kitchen use (rather than decorative only). Long ties are preferable. THANKS!

pearlie 03/30/2008 #

If you need any help with ideas other than my profile, I like simple designs, darker rather than lighter colors, adore bar cookies, and because of that last remark I need longer ties also :(

P.S to my partner...I am also a full figured gal (Aka really chubby)
