This is my first time hosting a swap but have been swapping on Swap-bot for a little while and also with Yahoo Groups. This is a great activity I did in college as a way to stir ideas for artwork. It's pretty simple really. Take a cheap sketch pad that has 100 pages, it shouldn't be any larger than 9x12 or else you won't be able to ship it for less (and we all know that paying LARGE for shipping stinks). The sketchpad also can't be any smaller than 4x6, so something in the 8x10ish range is good. The process: give yourself some time, or sketch in sessions, but do about one sketch a minute. That's right, quick, loose, and spontaneous. Fill the page! Above all do NOT worry about what your sketch looks like or having something to sketch, just be creative and let it flow. Any questions please feel free to email me or contact me through swap-bot. All swappers must have a rating of at least 4.2! I will ban swappers who do not have this rating when I assign partners. ADDED 02/11: I've noticed when shopping for a sketchpad with 100 pages that I haven't been able to find a reasonably priced one. If you choose, you can choose a pad with 50 pages, and simply draw on both sides to equal 100 drawings. |
