Everyone loves pouches – for this swap, a sweet pouch will additionally have some little things with it that will really make your day. Pouches can be handmade or bought [as some of us are not confident sewists, and it would be sad to exclude people on this basis. If you do buy a pouch, be mindful of how much effort people put into making handmade pouches, and buy accordingly.] Having said that, improving your sewing skills is always rewarding, and there are plenty of great tutorials out there to help – http://www.twelve22.org/2006/07/zipper_tutorial.html http://pinsneedles.wordpress.com/2008/01/31/tutorial-a-lined-pouch/ http://www.splityarn.com/splityarn/2007/06/sewazippered.html The gap between sign up and sending date should allow enough time to make this work! The contents of the pouch should be something related to craft, and perhaps something related to your recipient’s profile. For example, maybe a pouch with some stickers and brads for a scrapbooker, or some needles and floss for someone who like embroidery. As this is a small swap [and I expect that the cost of the package will be $5-$10 plus postage], postage shouldn’t be too onerous, and so it will be international. The usual provisos about reserving the right to ban flaky swappers apply here too – but if you have any concerns, please PM me. [Also – this is my first swap, so please be gentle!] ^_^ |
