Description:

DUE TO THE BAD WEATHER ON THE EAST COAST, I HAVE MOVED THE SEND BY DATE TO THE WEEKEND NOVEMBER 3RD. IF YOU NEED MORE TIME THAN THAT, PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR SWAP PARTNER.

THIS IS A LARGE SWAP PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP if you are sure you can follow through! Sorry - no newbees! Must be a Group member in good standing. You must purchase a 24 pocket over the door hanging shoe organizer that will double as doll clothes storage and your 1 pocket a day advent swap. YOU ONLY NEED TO PUT ONE WRAPPED DOLL ITEM IN EACH pocket but it is Senders choice. This way our partner will have something to open each day of advent.

You may decorate your "calendar" any way you want. Skippy's mom and I have sourced the holders at TARGET for between $12.99-$19.99

You will have 3 months to work on your swap once it is assigned and you can begin now if you would like. This was the highlight of my Holiday last year. I hope it will be one for you as well. If you are my partner, I am in Canada and I am not yet sure what the shipping by to Canada dates are but if you are going to be sending it later then November 1st deadline I will not likely get it in time for December 1st, Last year both my swaps arrived the first week of December. Not my partners fault just that of our Customs Department.

I just want to add here that I found the pocket shoe organizer at Target, but I also found it online at Amazon for 12 bucks. I had such fun doing the jar swap, and this one sounds like even more fun. Gotta get started! So many swaps, so little time. Can't help it. I am addicted to these dolly swaps big time. :0)

I went to Walmart and found a 24 pocket shoe organizer for $9.95 so I bought 3 of them. Now, I'm ready to get started on two of them. Hubby confiscated one so next time I go to Walmart I'll need to pick up another. With 3 great granddaughters to sew for I'm always making something. I tell hubby "It keeps me off the streats and out of trouble". Joan

So we will know by August 2nd who are partners are! That's great!!! If it's going to Canada, I'll pack lighter weight stuff. Oops, did I say that out-loud?? Only kidding, Karen!!

Design question: do you number the pockets starting from the top left ? Or do you mix the numbers up in no order?

Karen gave me this great idea - put a number on the pocket and a number on the gift (mine will probably be wrapped in small bags I can get from the Dollar Store). That way if they get tossled during shipment, they can be put back in the proper pockets.

I will keep adding free printable numbers as I find them. I am making 4 (1 to swap, 2 for nieces, and 1 for nephew but his won't have dolly stuff in it).

Feel free to send light stuff my way, it costs more for me to ship to you guys then you to me, can you believe that! I have my pocket organizer from Walmart I bought in the USA and I can not wait to sit down and sew for it! This will be a big swap for sure but I am so looking forward to it!

I bought 4 shoe organizers at Walmart for $8.95 each. They are mesh in front so they will show the gift bags I will make. I took them out of the wrappers and hung the organizers up to get the folds and wrinkles out of them.

Getting so excited! Found my stash and can not wait to start!

I'm having trouble stuffing all the things I made into the pockets. I need bigger pockets!!! Is anyone wrapping their items before they put them in the pockets? Please share your secret with me. I bought little paper bags at the Dollar Store but they tear too easy and I'm having to stuff them in. I don't want the dresses to be wrinkled when they arrive. Suggestions?????

@jnnealy you should receive a prize for being the first to send out your Advent Calendar. I am impressed. This swap has been a lot of work.

I am moving the SEND BY DATE to November 3rd because of the very bad weather in the east coast. If you are going to be later than that, please notify your swap partner. This is a big swap so please be kind and forgiving to your partner if it's a few days late. Thanks so much - carol
