Description:

This swap is a variation of the one I just ran in the Handmade Postcard Club, in which you were challenged to pick a word from your partner's profile and make a postcard displaying that word. But instead of a word, this time it's an image.

Here's the deal: read your partner's profile, and let your mind be open to image associations. For example, if your partner says she lives in Florida, you might think "flamingoes." Or if your partner says she likes "The Ghostbusters," you might think "marshmallows." Or it might be straightforward: she says she likes vintage themes, so you go with that.

And then...make a cut-paper collage postcard which includes that image. You can put just that one image on the postcard, or you might add a bunch of others. You can add additional media, like paint or rubber stamps, to your collage. The only thing you have to do is make a collage with an image that popped in your head while reading your partner's profile.

Put a short note on the back explaining why you chose that image, if it's not really obvious. Mail it naked. And be sure to have fun! =smile=

Great...I just read my partner's profile and all of the images running through my brain are of the things she says NOT to send...Oh boy, how am I going to spin this one??

I know what you mean, I did come up with something, but it's not as easy as it looks.

Well I do hope it was an interesting challenge, and not just a frustrating one! My partner's profile was very thin, but I lucked out 'cause one of her movie choices was just my cup o' tea.

Yes a good challenge, I enjoyed it.

Definitely and interesting challenge...and the description says that I can use the images that "popped into my head when reading my partner's profile"..... :P

That's right, Mandy: your image associations, be they tightly logical or very loose, do not have to be defended. Whatever pops (or did pop) in your head...

Just for the record...I behaved.. :P
