Naked mail is fun! :) If you're unfamiliar with the term, Wikipedia actually has a clear, concise entry on it here. Some examples of things I've sent or received in this way in the past: a whoopie cushion, Sharpies bundled together with packing tape, a santa hat, etc. Take a browse through your local dollar store (especially in the kids toy area) or thrift store and you're sure to find something. :)
- This swap is USA only, and you will be sending two items separately to one partner. Since there's no guarantee that you'll actually receive, the rules for rating have been modified, and there will be a photo requirement. So...
Find two different items to send to your partner. They should not be fragile, liquid, perishable, etc. You know the list of things they ask you when you send a package.
Address them...for some items, you can tape it or write it right on the item, for others, attach a tag with heavy twine. Make sure you include some reference to swap-bot on there somewhere. I haven't seen any other naked mail swaps on here, so that should be enough since you only have one partner, but feel free to include your user name or the swap name as well.
Take a photo of the items ready to be mailed and either email it/them to your partner, or post online somewhere and send a link to your partner.
Take your items to the post office and send them off. It isn't a requirement, but I highly recommend that you take the items to the counter & get a metered postage sticker put on instead of sticking stamps on or going to the automated machine & dropping it off. This is just a sign that someone has approved it and makes it a little more likely that it will reach its destination.
Wait for something fun to arrive in your mailbox! :)
Rating: As long as you receive a photo/link to a photo from your partner, you should rate a five. This swap is really just for fun, after all. If you don't receive either item after two weeks from the day your partner marked them sent, you can ask if they'd like to re-send, but it is not a requirement that they do. It is up to them, and they should still be rated a five if they decline as long as they met the photo requirement.
There is no rating requirement for this, but you must have at least ten type three swaps rated with fives, and no recent ones or threes. Sorry, no newbies. :/ I'll be checking profiles after sign up is over and will ban anyone sketchy before assigning partners.
If there's enough participation, I'll probably make this a regular swap/series and set up a page where everyone can post photos of what they've sent/received, so tell anyone you think would be interested! :)
