Description:

Do you love taking black & white photographs? For this swap, create two 6"x4" postcards from your own photography to mail to your partners. (You send one postcard to each partner, which means you send two postcards in total).

To create the postcards, have your photographs printed in a darkroom, at a photo lab or at home on your own photo printer. Adhere cardboard to the back of the photo to make it into a postcard (if required). Then write on the postcard, explaining a little about the photo, perhaps where it was taken and why you like it! Stamp and send naked (ie: no envelope) to your partner.

Remember - the photo you use MUST be your own original photograph and it must be Black & White.

Newbies welcome with a well filled out profile. Subject matter is senders choice.... any photographs from your collection is fine (Please be tasteful!) Swappers must have no recent 1's or 3's. Happy Swapping!!!

Do you think that printing on cardstock is heavy enough to go through the mail naked or should I glue an extra thickness of cardstock to the back? I have mine printed and ready to go, but want to check and get ya'll's opinion before I send them:)) Sure don't want them to get torn to pieces!!!

I'd adhere an extra piece to the back - ALL photos need to have cardboard / cardstock adhered to the back of the photo to make it sturdier to go through the post. The sturdier the better! Hope that helps!

Thanks @Neeky8 )) Now for one more question, may be a lil silly but I'm not sure what the best type of glue will be for adhering an extra thickness of cardstock. What I have is scrapbooking glue stick and I do have some super glue, lol. I don't want to use something that might soak through and ruin the photo. Any suggestions???

You can buy postcard backs at several places on-line. They are formatted to look like divided postcards.

I want to join this swap, and it says newbies allowed, but at the bottom where the "join swap" button should be, it informs me that i do not have the minimum required rating. Can this be fixed?

Neeky8 08/21/2012 #

Hi @goobebox - I've changed it, so you should be able to join now! Please let me know if you have any problems! Thanks!

@bettflow09 - I'd recommend a strong double sided tape. Hope that helps! :)

You can get postcard backs on-line at www.the2buds.com or www.photostix.com, I don't know who is cheapest right now. They have peel-off paper and then you just stick your photo on it and you have a postcard ready to mail.
