Description:

I love these pots created by a Tucson, AZ artist! This should be a fun, easy & inexpensive swap by using miniature pots. I'm thinking of making lots of them and filling them w/candy for my colleagues at work:)

FUN STUFF: Paint a miniature pot to resemble a sugar skull. This is sender's choice to one partner.

NOT SO FUN STUFF: Package carefully so the pot will arrive at its destination in good shape! Send on time and rate fairly please.

I was wondering about the size, I think I can safely send one of those 2 inch miniature pots but will watch the swap until I can figure out a safe way to send a bigger one ;)

Dang, love this swap but I'll be gone and won't have enough time to shop to get the supplies and then to make! Hope you'll do this one again!

I'm going with a tiny pot...I think they're sooo cute! A tiny one will fit in a small box or tube and shouldn't cost too much to ship:) Just don't forget to package in bubblewrap!

I have seen these online but never here in Tucson, I'm excited how small is tiny because I like that Idea I think the bigger the pot the more likely it is to break

pinkkiapila 08/22/2012 #

Alrighty then, I am in! :D

I'm thinking of doing several (if I can find the right sizes) like the Russian Matryoshka nesting dolls:)

Sultana 08/23/2012 #

So size it pretty much out there ??? I just don't want someone to say I sent to small and since it's not outlined I hope I'm still good if it's small I'm paranoid that it will break depending on where it goes =)

Can the pot be tin, or is it only terra cotta?

luleemik 08/24/2012 #

Good questions! Size does not matter. I was thinking small to save on shipping costs, but whatever you decide is fine.

I never thought of tin pots, but it's a great idea:) If you have a tin pot...go for it!!!!!!!

Sultana 08/24/2012 #

Okay thanks Lu....ooh Tin I had not thought of that hmmmm surprise!!

pinkkiapila 08/29/2012 #

Ohh! I didnt think about tin pots either :D the nesting matryoshka idea is really sweet! I will try to find several small ones

I found at Micheals (well, my sister did, really) 4 inch, black metal pails with about 3.25 inches of usable space on the actual pail. They were with a middle of the aisle Halloween display which included orange pails as well.

I have created a skull stencil and bought a (massive!) roll of white contact paper. I'm thinking Sharpies, colored foil, gems, puffy paint and silk roses (maybe buttons, too, we'll see). If anyone has any other suggestions, don't hesitate to chime in.

And as an FYI, I'm not joining the swap until I know I can do this so keep your fingers crossed!! =D

I saw what you've created and I think anyone would love to receive one of these!! You are more than welcome to join the swap!
