nolagirl sends a stuffie!!!!
Swap Coordinator:RaeJillian (contact)
Swap categories: Challenges
Number of people in swap:12
Location:Other
Type:None
Last day to signup/drop:March 7, 2008
Date items must be sent by:January 8, 2009
Number of swap partners:1
Description:

This swap WILL NOT follow normal swap guide lines, signing up for this swap means that you understand the new system and are willing to go along with it for the sake of our group and what we as a group are trying to achieve!

This is how it will work:

nolagirl is going to load up a package with her stuffie and a journal. She is going to send package to the next person and that person will take a picture of themselves with the stuffie out and about, put the picture and a journal entry into the journal (or notebook) and then send the package to the next person. Each person will have 10 days to take the picture, write the entry and then mail the stuffie off. If something comes up PLEASE keep in touch and we as a group will help as much as possible! Remember that the stuffie has a home and is only visiting, if he is gone too long he will probably get very homesick!

the list: (piercedninjette will be skipped!)

nolagirl to brighteyes brighteyes to kylienhavannahsmom kylienhavannahsmom to thatzghetto thatzghetto to pahasiga pahasiga to vee41dmb vee41dmb to arrozc0nleche arrozc0nleche to raejillian (me) (me) raejillian to ceinwyn ceinwyn to nanamint nanamint to zombee zombee to nolagirl

Once the signup date has passed and partners are assigned the group founder and swap coordinator will put together a master swap list which will then be emailed to everyone in the swap. We may try to group countries together so that shipping is lower and so that shipping time is faster, but it may be simpler and a bit more fair to just to compose a list that is based off of order of signup.

YOU WILL SEND TO YOUR ASSIGNED PARTNER.

So for a highlight: -we will send to our swap-bot assigned partners -we agree to ship the package to the next groupie in no more than 10 days

As this is our trial run it will probably be full of bumps and mass emails, please be patient with your swap coordinator and group founder. We all know that things can happen when dealing with the mail, perhaps it would be best to use delivery confirmation when it is available and above all if something does go wrong we should all work together to make it right. I really hope we rock this thing – it’s something I’d like to be a part of again and again!

the forum for this swap has changed and can be found on our group forum page!

I don’t think I need to mention this, but flaking on one of these is a very big deal – it would be stuffie-knapping and it would not only result in an entire group of people having to start ALL OVER but any flaker will get the rating deserved, a name mentioned in the public forums and will not be able to play with us again!

are we allowed to alter the stuffie?

bluegrassgirl 03/ 5/2008 #

So, we are not each going to send a stuffie round robin???

vee41dmb 03/ 5/2008 #

nope :( i think we should though maybe start a diffrent swap! I'm SO in! V*

seems fair that we should each have a stuffie and journal to keep at the end.

PiercedNinjette 03/ 5/2008 #

Vee, everybody is doing it, just one at a time. So we don't have a billion stuffies going out at once. It will make this WAY more complicated, otherwise. WAAAAYYY more.

PiercedNinjette 03/ 5/2008 #

Please read my forum post

I think every stuffie should have her/his own swap, that would make things clear.

The idea to group countries it great! I was worrying a bit because my swaps take so much time to arrive at USA.

Ceinwyn 03/ 6/2008 #

The idea of grouping the countries would be very helpful to keep postage reasonable, especially since there will be other stuffie swaps following (at least I hope so, because I'd like to have a stuffie travel book as well). However I haven't understood the rating system. As swapbot assigns partners and allows to rate only those persons, how will we know who was supposed to send to whom according to SB (since the master list will be different from the original partner assignment). Sorry if this sounds confused but I don't really know how to put it differently :o/

pahasiga 03/ 7/2008 #

Maybe it would be a good idea for everybody to put it into forums of this swap - "I got The Stuffie today from Ceinwyn! Add a text to go along with rating" and then the person who can rate Ceinwyn will go and rate.

RaeJillian 03/ 7/2008 #

when i make the master list i will include who you need to contact once you receive the stuffie. the person you contact is who will leave the feedback for the person who sent it to you!

RaeJillian 03/ 7/2008 #

i am posting this here because i sent it to bluegrassgirl and she thought it would be helpful. i am also going to put it on our forums somewhere...

"we will eventually have swaps overlap, this is a trial run. i think it would be best to make sure it runs smoothly before we all get one going. i for one, want to send out a sock monkey BUT i want to make sure that it comes home... i am sure you feel the same way. let us work out the kinks and then we will figure out how to move everyones! also, with too many going people may not feel they can afford it and so your group might be smaller. i am sorry it took me so long to respond i was away yesterday, sick. i hope that this helped and i promise we will figure it out!"

So.... how's the stuffie doing? Where is it now? I hope it's enjoying it's little trip around the world. :]

Ceinwyn 01/20/2009 #

As the stuffie disappeared mid-travel and the person he was last sent to hasn't been online since July 2008, I will mark this swap sent to get it off my dashboard. In the unlikely case he should resurface, I will of course mark unsent again, until he has reached me.
