Description:

PLEASE NOTE: The quilt block swaps I host are meant for more experienced quilters. You will need to be at least an intermediate in your experience and skill set. Do not join unless you have the experience necessary to make these blocks.

I found a tutorial for a very cute block that is easy to make. The pattern can be found here: http://www.annamariahorner.com/Spinning.Stars.Quilt.pdf Follow the tutorial exactly so everyone gets blocks that are the same size. The finished size of each block should be 18" by 18".

Also, so that if people decide to combine blocks they receive into a quilt i'm establishng some standards. The middle section (piece B in the pattern) needs to be the same material. The picture I have for this swap show the B piece as a black and white pattern. You do not need to use the same B material for each block, but within a single block they should be the same. But, please mix up the A and C pieces.

We're going to be making 2 blocks for each of our 3 partners. That means a total of 6 blocks. Please use new material (unless your partner is ok with vintage materials) that are clean and 100% cotton.

Fabrics used are sender's choice but try to take your partners tastes into account.

These block are fairly easy to make but do require quite a bit of material, so please don't join unless you know you can get enough material to make them.

I am giving you most of December to make the blocks because of the Holidays

No newbies. Must have completed at least 5 type 3 swaps and have a rating of 4.8 or better. No 1's or 3's in the last 6 months.I will check. I may make exceptions for newbies who haven't been rated yet. I will also check to see if you've done quilting swaps before. If not I may ask you to send me photo verification of your ability to quilt. Message me if you've done swaps but just haven't been rated. If you don't get anything from your partner let me know.

Always looking for ways to use up my extensive collection of small pieces of fabric.

Make sure to print out the pattern at actual size and not fit to page!! Don't want blocks that are the wrong size!

Oh this looks so awesome!!!! I'd love to join in. Thanks so much for hosting.

Ok, I am not a confidant enough quilter to join, but would like to as I get better. Are you hosting more of these later on. I have done lots of garment sewing so I am betting I will get better rather faster than a complete newbie.

Also when you say new, clean cotton, are you thinking washed fabric or unwashed?

@MamaMay most of the one I'll be doing will either be simple blocks built from squares or will have a template. Feel free to try doing this block. Send me a pic of it done and if it's good you can join. I make my blocks from unwashed.

Because of illness and being behind on holiday sewing because of said illness, I'm going to have to drop out of this one. Have no fear though - I will be back next month!!!!
