Description:

Howdy swappers! I know we always have a lot of tea swaps going on, but we need another one. This swap is going to be for those of us who like tea, but REAL tea, from a tea plant. In other words, herbal infusions/tisanes are not allowed. You could send black tea, green tea or white tea, but it has to be actual tea. Examples that are acceptable for this swap would be oolong, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, Prince of Wales, etc. Examples that would NOT be okay are Chamomile, mint, anise, echinacea, etc.

So for this swap:

  • We will send at least 4 tea bags each to 3 different partners. (12 total)

  • This swap is international

  • Ratings of 4.5 and up please. Newbies are welcome if you have a full profile.

  • Anyone who gives me that flakey feeling will be banned.

Mmmm, more tea...

Oooh, an irresistible swap! I do prefer tea with tea in it! :)

leashingfear 03/13/2008 #

Okay, no herbals, but can we send flavored teas, or is it just plain jane?

spinjenny 03/13/2008 #

Do they have to be individually wrapped tea bags? It is easy here in the UK to get herbal/fruit teas as individually wrapped bags, but much harder to find 'real' tea, even flavoured real tea, packed that way.

lamborama 03/13/2008 #

As far as flavorings... as long as you would consider it a real tea, it should be ok, although I'm leaning more towards the purely tea varieties. Then again, pretty much everyone considers Earl Grey to be just a regular variety, but it's bergamot flavored... so yeah, flavors are ok as long as the tea is tea.

Spinjenny... I'm thinking about that issue. I don't mind getting teabags that aren't individually wrapped, but I don't know how others feel about it. Any comments, anyone?

simonJester 03/13/2008 #

I like Celestial Seasonings, which is not individually wrapped. It can be hard to find those, Stash Tea is the only one I know of around here. I'm fine with looseleaf, as long as it's been wrapped up.

lamborama 03/13/2008 #

OK, then I say they don't have to be individually wrapped, as long as you send something un-funky, not ancient, stale, nor yucky, and you take care with how you package it up.

I would prefer no flavors. I like plain tea-but think Earl Grey is great too! Loose tea is also wonderful in my book, just please list ingredients and caffeine or decaf.

I'm happy with flavored or "plain" tea, and I'm happy with loose leaf, too if its nicely packaged and identified.

Amberly 03/30/2008 #

Has anyone heard from the coordinator?

sikwonsdream 03/31/2008 #

mine were sent

spinjenny 03/31/2008 #

Tea for chicca, Amberly and gwenwalls is packed ready to be sent in the morning. It will probably take at least 10-14 days to arrive, though chicca's might be quicker, being Europe.

I got flaked on by the coordinator-pretty pathetic!

Any one needing tea from lamborama please post on the forum thread here. She was in a car accident, and I'm trying to tie up her loose swaps till she's better. And Amberly, I'll have yours in the mail Monday at the latest.
