Description:

everyone welcome thats into junk and don't mind if they may happen to get an international partner (shipping, keep in mind) but then again you can make it as heavy or light as you want.

be creative use any material you have handy and make 1 small junk sculpture to send to your 1 partner. it can be made to resemble anything or nothing at all, it can be useful or not, whatever you like, just be creative with your junk, you're the artist you decide.

just keep in mind you need to mail it in a way that it will stay together, so pack it well and put it together well.

there will be ample time to complete this.

please post comments, i'm easy going and never really made one before so any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

i'm not going to put it in the swap description because most do already but it would be nice for you to send a little note to your partner about yourself and or the sculpture.

Sounds like a fun challenge! I'm in!!

I'll give it a try and maybe drop out if it does not come out well. Is there maybe a website for visual assistance? LOL (^_^)

Have alot of ideas for MY junk :}

Susan 03/13/2008 #

well, to get the photo for the swap, i typed in the search line "junk sculpture" and clicked images (yahoo search) and there were tons of images hard to pick just one and find a good clear one. so try that otherwise the sky is the limit with this swap , no right or wrong shouldnt be any low ratings as long as you send.

What an absolutely fun, fun idea. My husband is a construction contractor and have plenty of gadgets, knobs, old keys, wire, this and that. This is gonna be so much fun! Whatever gave you this idea?

vintageartchic, I made a "junk drawer" group and wanted to let people know about it somehow, plus the next larger city from me Hamilton, Ohio is a "city of sculpture" and all around town is sculptures one in particular is a giant piece of rusty junk! and in front of the high school I went to is another sculpture that was originally made from paper towel and toilet paper rolls was enlarged and made out of steel at the local steel manufacturer and they even kept the lines of the paper tubes, it started out red , then was painted brown now its black, i am surprised its still there it was dedicated in 1985 when I went there! also.... I have always wanted to make something out of a bunch of junk, there was an exhibit awhile back and some students made some really neat stuff out of junk for awareness to recycle.

If you ever do a US only Junk Sculpture swap--I'll be there! International shipping scares me sometimes ;)

I'm angelling to LuldaCasadega55 because jade240 has dropped out of swap bot. I was supposed to send to jade240, so I first sent her a letter to see if she would contact me. No luck, so I will send to her partner instead.
