Description:

I had a great idea last night, while the winds from Sandy were howling...Wouldn't it be great to send a postcard and see where it had been all around the world? Then get it returned back to you after its adventures were over? I thought it would be really neat!

So here's the directions for Round 1:

Choose a card. A card that you think people would enjoy seeing (the bigger, the better). Put your name and address on the right hand side of the card. Put the title of the swap (Adventures of the Traveling Postcard) at the top of the left hand side. PUT IT IN AN ENVELOPE and send it off to your partner.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Every month, we will have another round. Each round, you will write your name; username; city, state, and country; and the round number on the left hand side of the postcard that you received in the previous round. Then you will put in an envelope each time, and be sent to your next partner and so on. When the left side of the postcard is filled up with the names and cities of those that have received the postcard, the last person will stamp your actual postcard and send it back to you.
Wow, that was a complicated explanation for such an easy thing! LOL If you have any questions, let me know!
Only join if you are awesome and a non-flaker. Well-established folks ONLY and I will ban if I feel that you may be a questionable swapper. I want to do my best to ensure that everyone receives their postcard back! So don't join if you don't think you can commit to it for the long haul, K?
Also, apologies if this has been done before. I have been here for a few months and have never come across anything like this before and I thought it would be neat!
I LOVE this idea!!
When I was a child I loved to write little stories about a coin or something else and its adventures travelling the world. The swap is just similar and I love to join. I hope Sandy didn't do any harm to you and is now cooling down!
love it! But tell me, could you please send an email or private message to us when setting up a new round? because sometimes we don't enter to swapbot in days or don't pay attention to the new swaps and maybe we could miss them =/
AnnieMaxine 10/31/2012 #
Yes! I will make sure all users in the previous rounds are notified of the next round! I want as many folks to get their postcards back as possible!
=) GREAT!!! =D
Are the postcards supposed to be able to fit a certain amount of names, or can new ones start and stop whenever?
AnnieMaxine 10/31/2012 #
If you want your postcard to have many adventures, you want to make sure that lots of people's names can fit on it! The postcards will all start and stop at different times because people will send different sized cards, as well as have different sized penmenship. When you receive your postcard that is filled up with its adventures, you just start a new one! Easy peasy!
Also, if you are the last person to write on the back of someone's card and send it back to them, you also must start a new one to send to your partner! Does that make sense?
What a great idea !
Not that I think anyone would flake, but what if you never receive a pc for a certain round? You wouldn't be able to pass it on. Then my rating would be on the line because of someone else's flakiness. Ideas?
I cannot wait for this swap to start. Now I must jsut find a nice big postcard......and in South Africa that is a bit difficult, but I will definitely make a plan.
Apelser 11/ 2/2012 #
These are store bought postcards, correct?
AnnieMaxine 11/ 2/2012 #
If you didn't receive a pc, I would most certainly angel...OR you can put another one in rotation!
As far as the type of postcard, it can be anything! Handmade, zazzle, storebought, since it's going back to you eventually, it's whatever you want to share with the world!
Awesome, amazing, brilliant idea! I can't wait to start :)
