Description:

With her permission, I am taking over this swap for Faun00 for the time being. Image borrowed from Faun00's swap series

For this swap, photocopy a page from your favorite book (or you may use an actual book page if you like). Black out all but a few words creating a poem from the words. You may add embellishments, or draw/doodle on the page in between the blackouts, but it IS NOT NECESSARY. :)

THIS GETS MISSED A LOT: Your info will NOT be on the back of this page... You will put at least your final poetry words, name, date, and location (i.e. city, state, country, as it's always nice to see where your swaps came from) on a separate paper to be put into your partner's journal on a facing page.

You will have 2 partners and will send a different photocopied blackout poem to each of them (you can always send more if you feel inspired). Pages should be no larger than composition book size (apprx 7.5 inches x 9.5 inches). You can decorate it if you wish, but it is not a requirement.

Use your imagination and have fun! Send something you would like to receive.

We will NOT actually mail journals around, but we will decorate our own journals to paste our received poetry into. Please use a book that is at least composition notebook size, as that should be about the right size for any of the swaps you get.

This is a repeating swap, and I will host every three weeks or so as long as there is interest.

A rating of 4.8 or above please to participate in this swap. I will not tolerate flakers and late sends. Late senders in my swaps are banned from the next series swap of any of my swaps unless they contact me and I deem the reason to be excusable. Will angel if necessary. Responsible newbies with well-filled profiles are welcome.

Hey, Jessica, do you have any stipulations/suggestions on how to package the artwork to prevent damage? I'm thinking it pretty much has to go flat, in a larger envelope, perhaps sandwiched between cardboard.

Hi kirk, I'm sorry about the delay on answering this for you. It is up to you how to want to package the artwork depending on how you've created it. The majority of blackout poetry I've received and sent out has been able to be sent in a flat envelope. USPS states that you can send envelopes up to 1 oz and 6" x 11" with one first class stamp. Hope this helps and I will message you as well. Again, I apologize for the delayed response!
