Description:

Even though I don’t get to bake or cook as often as I would like lately; I still consider it to be one of my favorite things to do. It’s something I find gratifying and it’s also something I do with my two daughters. I thought a cooking swap would be awesome!

Here are the rules:

4 items will be compiled for your partner.

FIRST Item: 1 handmade cookbook that must contain:

1 beverage recipe, 1 breakfast recipe, 1 lunch recipe, 1 snack recipe, 1 dinner recipe, and 1 desert recipe

SECOND Item:

a small kitchen decor item

THIRD Item:

an item that can be used when cooking or baking -

for example: (cookie cutters, cupcake molds, bottles to hold spices, spatulas, a whisk, etc)

FOURTH Item:

a kitchen linen to use or wear -

for example: (an apron, kitchen towels, place mats, oven mitts, pot holders, etc)

Please, I can not stress enough to be creative and read your swap partner’s profile. This swap can be so fun and useful if every one who participates follows those two simple things.

A vegan would not want a recipe containing meat just like someone with a retro style kitchen would not want a cow print for their kitchen decor, you know?

I think we can keep this swap reasonable and set a $10-15 price range before shipping. If you choose to send your partner more, that’s up to you!

Remember to rate your partner and give hearts to extra wonderful packages. You must have a rating of 4.8 or higher, have completed ten or more swaps and have a detailed profile to sign up. I will check everyone who joins to make sure you meet the requirements.

Thank you and have fun!!

PS: Please list below important info like your kitchen color/pattern/decor, your food preferences and things you do/do not want :)

  • I am open to all sorts of yummy food recipes. I do have to say that I LOVE coffee <3
  • I could use a whisk, spice bottles, and especially a spoon rest for my stove top. I don't need any measuring items or spatulas <3
  • I don’t need an apron but I would love an oven mitt or small dish cloths.
  • As far as decor~ I love vintage art, coffee, ivy and the colors brown and green.

Is this an international swap?

Sage 03/16/2008 #

Yes it is, sorry, I forgot to add that info~

Hooray for another great swap, Sage! <3

I am a vegetarian, but if you are not, I don't mind if you send me non-vegetarian recipes.

For kitchen accessories, I like bright, cheerful colors. My dishes are white rimmed with pale blue centers, if that helps. I prefer the vintage look over cutesy things.

I don't use oven mitts, and I really don't need any more cupcake accessories, wooden spoons, or measuring tools. I could use some new ice cube trays, but that is kind of boring! :) Spice canisters would be great. Dish towels, pot holders,a dn the like are fine. If you need some advice, feel free to ask me!

Sage 03/16/2008 #

Yay Sabrina <3 I am so glad you are enjoying them. I have been going swap crazy lately but it makes me happy :)

CaSaundraLeigh 03/16/2008 #

*I am a vegetarian--but I will be glad to accept non-veggie recipes; I cook for my family alot, and they are not vegetarians. I also enjoy making cookies and bars and I am always looking for new recipes :-) *As for kitchen decor, my kitchen is a tropical, nautical theme. Bright colors, and seashells, etc. *I enjoy items to bake with. Currently I do not need any spatulas, wisks, measuring cups/spoons or utensils. More of the creative baking/cooking things. *Please no oven mits, I have too many as of now haha! Any thing else would be super :-)

By homemade cookbook, do you mean a small one that may have 8 or 10 pages, since you're asking for at least 6 recipes? Like a small, personal-type cookbook? I love this idea!

Sage 03/16/2008 #

Hi craftygirl,

Yeah, the recipe book should be just a few pages and hand bound. I think a personalized cover would be awesome <3

What a fun swap!!

I eat pretty much anything my only food allergy is kiwi fruit.

My kitchen is pretty neutral with different shades of brown and creams. I decorate it with birds such as owls, quails and "silhouette" birds, but I like all but tropical birds. I am not picky on colors and would be happy with any item.

I could always use hand/tea towels, pot holders, trivets.

wygirl 03/19/2008 #

My kitchen is in white and blue (the shades you find in delft patterns) Kind of French country I guess.. I like toile and the blue floral/leaves print on white. I wish I knew what it was called.

No alcohol, coffee/mocha, liver, okra or lima/butter beans :) Anything else would be great. We eat all sorts of food here. Vegetarian, ethnic of any kind, just about anything. I love to cook.

Definitely could use pot holders. My measuring spoons are always getting lost, or eaten in the garbage disposal, so could always use more of those. Same with the measuring cups. Placemats and napkins would be great. I don't have very many. I keep meaning to make some. Actually you might not want to do the placemats or napkins. The reason I don't have very many is I have 5 kids it's one thing to buy a couple but when you need to buy 8 it adds up :)

Anything would be great :)

CaSaundraLeigh 03/23/2008 #

I'm so sorry; I can't do this swap this time, if you by any chance hold a second one, please let me know!

Unfortunately I am having a bit of financial difficulty right now and have to drop this one. I hope you all have a wonderful swap, though!

Sage 03/26/2008 #

Sorry to hear that Sabrina <3!!

heliogal 03/26/2008 #

I just have to sign-up for a swap titled "Kitchen Goddess"!

Any kind of recipes will be wonderful (ones that you've tried and worked well for you)

I like sunflower or sun designs, colors would be yellow, red, forest green.

I could really, really use pot holders and oven mitts, spoon rest, rubber spatulas, small kitchen timer (the one with batteries) vegetable peeler, nutmeg grater... I don't have room for a lot of "kitchen decor" so it you just want to send me 2 useful items that would be terrific. I can also always use parchment paper.

I use and would love an apron. I have a lot of table linens. kitchen towels are always something I could use more of. Sorry this is long I just wanted to give my partner a lot of options. Great swap idea!

heliogal 03/27/2008 #

Oh yeah I like anything related herbs as well :) And just to know what I am doing...we are making a small cookbook containing our recipes? Can I purchase a small journal-type book and then personalize the cover? I was thinking I could leave some pages between recipes so my partner could add recipes to her book as well. Would it be OK if I did something like that?

craftygirl 03/27/2008 #

My kitchen is decorated in sunflowers, and I have dark wood cabinets (no light colored wood). Otherwise I would love any recipes, cooking utensils, etc. Surprise me!

kathyp 03/31/2008 #

What a fantastic swap!!

Well I have mostly blues and burgendy colours in my kitchen. I could always use measuring spoons, tea towels, napkinsw, placemats etc. I'm really excited about this swap. Oh and I don't eat Pork or Fish.

Thanks - kathyp

Guess I should add something before partners are set:

I love to cook and bake, and preserve foods. Right now my focus is on starting a gourmet chocolate line which I can sell.

I cook with lots of herbs and unique spices BUT AM ALLERGIC to CHEESES, CHILIS and RED or GREEN PEPPERS, BEEF, MSG (see my profile)

Recipe wise, I can adjust any recipe to meet our needs. But I dont care for recipes using pre-packaged foods. I cook from scratch. I love international recipes too, and nothing is too strange or complex.

Anything with a realistic nature theme, or with wild animals(see my profile) will suit our kitchen wonderfully. Colors would be greens, yellows, reds - but please not obnoxious fruit or farm animal stuff!

We love sunflowers, birds and rodents

I need a really good potholder, more silicone or rubber spatulas, dinner napkins are needed too. ALL of my kitchen stuff (except for the garlic press and pastry brush) has been gotten from thrift stores, so most of it is beaten up...so I guess receiving something new that I already have wouldnt be bad. :-)

Thanks for reading!

kgeslab 03/31/2008 #

I love to bake bread and need some new recipes. My kitchen theme is garden/birdhouse with greens and browns. As far as kitchen objects go, the only thing I don't need are cupcake papers - I have a TON!!!

No allergies or food restrictions.

kgeslab 03/31/2008 #

Placemats are something I could REALLY use! There are 5 in my family and I love hand made stuff!

lmdesign7 03/31/2008 #

I love to cook and bake. We eat all kinds of foods. I like stainless steel or wood cooking items. I really could use a good peeler, mine broke. Any kitchen items are fine, even if I might have it already, my stuff could use replacing anyway. I like tea towels, aprons (aprons do not have to match my kitchen), cloth napkins, placemats (for at least 6 people) oven mitts, any fabric kitchen items are fine, trivets, spoon rest etc... My kitchen style is sort of a mix of Italian and elegant black and cream or white scroll or damask looking patterns and a little Mexican (chili peppers). I like olive items and chili pepper items. Colors for my kitchen would be black, cream, white, olive green or greens along that line, plum, red & orange. Things I do not want would be anything related to alcohol, country items (I do like French country), country blue, peach or mauve color items. I am not picky and would be happy with anything I get except what is on my do not want list. :-)
