Description:

Elder Neal A. Maxwell: “The prompting that goes unresponded to may not be repeated. Writing down what we have been prompted with is vital. A special thought can be lost later in the day through the rough and tumble of life. God should not, and may not, choose to repeat the prompting if we assign what is given such a low priority as to put it aside.”

Elder Gene R. Cook: “I’ve found, as I’m sure you have, that when you’re trying to learn from the Lord and you feel an impression from the Spirit, it’s important to make a note so it will not be forgotten. The more you not only hear but abide by what you’ve been told, the more the Lord will give to you. It will come more and more rapidly and you will begin to hear and feel those impressions of the Spirit more quickly than you have previously done.”

Elder Richard G. Scott: “We often leave the most precious personal direction of the Spirit unheard because we do not record and respond to the first promptings that come to us when the Lord chooses to direct us.”

After seeing all the wonderful pins grammag pinned on pinterest I felt really inspired to start a scripture journal this coming year. I thought it might be fun to put together a small kit of items our partner could use for their own scripture journals.

For this swap you will have 1 partner. Send them at least 10 different times that they can use in their scripture journals. These items may include but are not limited to: quotes, tags, scrissors, doubled-side tape, post-it notes, images, conference talks and scripture pencils.

Just for reference next year in Sunday School we will be studying Doctrine and Covents and "Our Heritage". This does not mean you have to send items exclusively for D&C.

The following is a great article out of the May 2012 New Era about scripture journals:https://www.lds.org/new-era/2012/05/more-than-a-scripture-journal?lang=eng

Below are some links to amazing sites for scripture journals. You may want to look at them for ideas.

You are AWESOME!!! I have been wanting to do some kind of scripture journal swap but hadn't figured out how! This will be great! I am teaching a mid-week activity this Thursday on this, so we'll see what happens. I am watching for now until I clear my board a little, but count me in!

I am glad you all are excited about this. I am actually making scriptre journals for my whole family for Christmas. The journals are all centered on Doctrine and Covenants. I am so excited about starting my own.
