those you loved and lost - Thanksgiving memories

I'm hosting this swap as a branch off of the original swap, this one being specifically about Thanksgiving and memories surrounding the holiday. I realize this makes it more like a regional swap, but I'm still keeping it international. This swap has a faster turn around than the original swap since Thanksgiving is coming up fairly soon. Your card might arrive after the actual holiday because of the send-by date, but this is more about the time of season than it being a holiday greeting. You can also start it as soon as your sign up since it's not profile specific.

This is a card swap for anyone who has lost someone precious to you. It's a chance to talk about and celebrate that person's life specifically when it comes to memories of the Thanksgiving holiday. I'm grieving the recent loss of my brother and thought swaps like this would be comforting for myself and others who have experienced loss too, especially around the holiday season. You are welcomed to share whatever you are comfortable with about the person (or persons) you love and miss and wish you could spend Thanksgiving with again.

The card you send your partner is sender's choice. The card itself can be store bought or hand made. You can write as little or as long as you're comfortable sharing. Include a picture if you want to, but that is completely optional. Just tell your partner about the person you're missing and your thoughts connected to the Thanksgiving holiday. Maybe it's memories of that day, maybe it's how the season reminds you of them, maybe it's how this year is the first one without that person. This swap is for you to have a place to talk openly about your loss with other people who understand and have similar experiences.

The main thing I ask is that no one flakes on this. It's a sensitive topic and would be so hurtful to be flaked on, so please don't join unless you can commit to sending. It's newbie friendly as long as you have a fully filled out profile and a couple flat mail swaps rated. I will check profiles just so no one here has to worry. Also, be kind when rating, because again, this is sensitive.

I also plan to do one more of these around the winter holidays because I realize that will be another time when memories will surface and we could use an outlet to talk about the person we wish could be with us at those times.
