You'll send your partner ten (10) profile-based postcards. They must be clean, new, store bought and blank. No perforated edges from postcard books. No Zazzle/Vistaprint. Please make sure you have plenty of likes listed in your profile so that your partner has a list to choose from.
* I know matching ten might be hard. Please don't just send anything - try to stay in line with their likes, even in a broad sense. Send animals to an animal lover or National Parks to a nature lover. Put some effort into it basically.
Please be sure to use a sturdy envelope and tape it well.
As always, please rate your partner!!! : )

Question please...

Why the prohibition on postcard books? A lot of the cards that I send come from various books.... I have at least a dozen books, maybe more. Is it the perforations perhaps?

I have a professional papercutter, and I always trim a very narrow strip off the perfed edge. Makes the PCs look like new. (I also do that on all four edges of cards that I sometimes get that are a tiny bit worn at the edges... likewise it makes them look really good)

Because you might be able to cut them nicely, but others can't?! If you can cut off the perforation that's fine. When I mentioned postcard books, it was the type with perforation. I have received some lately that were perforated on 2 sides...yuck!!!! Receiving one here and there, ok, but the thought of 10 is horrifying, lol!! Use your best judgement; if you can trim them on a professional paper cutter then it's fine : ) I'm not sure about trimming edges of a worn PC though? If it is edged in white it might look off? But I have no idea. I haven't used a paper cutter since middle school, lol!!

@eepy - re: trimming worn postcards - I wonder if it affects the back and the writing??

I too have received a lot of perferated postcards lately and I too don't care for them. That is nice if they can be cut off properly. The ones that have the perforation on both sides I have some I bought years ago at Disney, they have a small trading card on the other side.... I agree not very appealing! I recent bought a book myself of X-Files postcards and they came out clean. I'm excited about them for my X-Files fans!! I found them at Amazon.com. Happy New Year everyone!!! Hugs

Thanks, I thought the perfs might be the problem. And yes, you really do have to use one of the big square cutters to line it up right, and I do take off only a sliver. And I'm always very careful about the back of the cards too.

I love my cutter, it's great when you're making greeting cards, and if I'm doing ATCs I can precisely get 10 ATC blanks from one sheet of cardstock.

Oh, and about the worn cards... I didn't mean cards I've received that are written on. As far as I'm concerned the traces of travel and the contributions of the post office only add to the whole mailart thing!

I mean some old blank cards that are a little less than perfect.. again, I only take off a tiny edge - and if the white edges look odd I do it on all four edges to balance it up.

@stampmom9 - I hope we're partners!!! Love the X-Files! @eepy - cool, as long as they look good it's fine by me. I just don't have a cutter nor can I cut a straight line, lol!!
