Description:

I'm not good at making title, but I hope you all understand.

This swap made to anyone who have interest to study other language, and I do. So let's exchange postcard with message in your native language (I means not in English), BUT anyone with English as her/his native language also welcome IF they use her/his second language (proficient or not).

The postcard is sender choice, store bought no handmade, but make sure to check the profile's partner first. Written (of course) and stamped

And, here the procedures:

THE SENDERs

Anyone with native language other than English

  • Write message in your native language. Hiragana/katakana, kanji, hangul, cyrillic, hindi, thai or others are okay but please write clearly so your partner can read it after take a peek from script table or using google translate (I once use google translate to write in cyrillic one by one-although the translation not perfect), then send to your partners

Anyone with English as her/his native language (use second language)

  • write message using your second language. the rest is the same

THE RECIPIENTs

After you receive the postcard, try to understand the meaning, give rating to your partner with your translation in English and the partner will give respond if that's correct or not, and the correction

I made the partner 5 persons to make sure you learn many languages (that will be funny if you have one partner and she/he is use same language). I have thought about this swap carefully with some possibilities, but I welcome to any suggestion :)

What type of postcards? Store-bought, handmade, ad cards? Touristy? Non-touristy? Sender's choice? Profile based?

bungaalangalang 01/20/2013 #

@MichelleWillow I've wrote that the postcard is sender choice and add about store-bought and no handmade :)

Wow, I love the swap idea! But five partners is quite as lot especially if you donร‚ยดt want to write the same text on every postcard. Hm...Iร‚ยดll watch first.

I'm totally into this swap, I can provide some Cyrillic text. :) But I only collect touristy cards so I'll be very happy if my partners indulge me with such. :)

@Antropos I've thought about it too...and the deadline to send is long enough to write each of them :)

Thank you @IrinaBG

Love this swap, am watching for now because I have too many swaps going at the moment!

Love this idea!! Although I can't promise that I'll undestand everything, but I'll try my best! I love learning different languages!

Is it OK for non-English speakers to also use a second language? For example, if they're learning/have learned a less-common language (e.g. lots more people speak Spanish than, say, Albanian, so someone from Spain who is learning Albanian might write in Albanian rater than Spanish?).

bungaalangalang 01/31/2013 #

@pne that's okay for me

foddershock 02/16/2013 #

I love this! In the area I live in you don't get many people who speak a different language, and I absolutely love seeing / reading things in a different language <3

bungaalangalang 02/21/2013 #

@foddershock thank you

partners will assign soon :)

bungaalangalang 02/22/2013 #

Okay... partners assigned. Don't forget to write your SB username :)

happy swapping
