Scavenger Hunt Journal

For this swap you will need a journal or note book of some kind with sturdy paper. At least 50 pages. Something you will be able to turn the pages into pockets as needed. To make the pocket pages you can simply cut one page in half and glue or tape 3 sides to a second page and have a pocket . Now the reason for these pockets will be to have some place to store the items you are going to be hunting for. These things are going to be small and mostly flat items. These treasures that you will be finding or will be something you already have in your art stash. This swap should cost you only for the journal and postage. You will have one item to find daily. You will have 1 partner for this swap. Feel free to add any extras you want to with your items. We all love extras : ) also please decorate the journal a little. Make it pretty for your partner.

You will have all of MARCH to work on this journal. So have fun with it.

The first page of the journal should be a short bio page. Number and label the pages. No need to follow the list in the order I have it BUT you must have all items on the list in it.

Do the items actually have to be in the pocket or can they be permanantly adhered to the journal page as part of the design?

twobluecrows 02/ 8/2013 #

Is a composition book sturdy enough?

bettflow09 02/ 9/2013 #

This sounds like alot of fun:))) In watch for now, but more than likely will do this one:)

@Stacy ...I don't know the answer, but I'm sure @user8179 will answer you shortly:) I just thought I would voice my opinion, although I sure don't want to get anyone upset with me....never want that to happen!!!

From the way I understand the swap, I think it sounds like these items are supposed to be placed in the pockets so that the receiver of the journal will be able to remove the items to use them in their crafting projects. Atleast I hope this is correct, If the items are adhered as part of the decorations of the journal, they won't be able to be used by the receiver. I for one look forward to having all these 'lil' embellishments and what-nots to add to my stash:)))

This swap is amazing, I hope someone does an international version

First I decided to watch, then I decided to just jump in, join, and start the journal today. I can add more personalized things when I get my partner and read her profile. I love that the only thing that I'm going to have to buy is a notebook, all the rest I will "find" or already have!

twobluecrows yes you can use a composition book but you will have to decorate the journal and you might want to glue a few pages together to give the pockets strength

Sounds good to me! I was just curious. Thanks everyone for your input!

I have 2 questions. 1) Just to clarify, we send the whole journal at once between end of March and before April 10th, right? I've learned not to make assumptions. 2) I have more deco paper than I know what to do with. Can I make the journal itself rather than buy it? I will bind it myself or have it done before sending. Thanks. This looks really interesting.

Skydancer .... Love your name : ) Yes you must have the journal mailed off to your partner by April 10th with everything in it or at least in the package with it. You can make the journal yourself. I usually make mine. This is a great swap. I've had some amazing partners and journals

Been watching this swap for a while! Sounds like fun and decided to jump in! Not sure how I'll put it all together though...i like the idea of making my own journal too... i see this swap as a bit of a challenge and am looking forward to it. Happy Swapping!

Love this idea. Hopefully it will go international

Lilli62 03/26/2013 #

I have a question... on day 5 it says 3 items that start with the first and last letter of your name....so that is 6 items right? Just want to clarify we have to send 3 items for each. Thanks.
