April is Autism Awareness month each year and as my son has Autism (among other disorders), and I have worked with lots of people with neurological disorders - I like to do my bit each year. I thought this would be a great way to do it - Martiel over at craftylink.com did a video last night of her making a jigsaw drawing and this sparked this idea. So...I'd like you to cut out a jigsaw shape in sturdy card, make it your own with paint etc and send it as a postcard to your partner. Include the words APRIL IS AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH in your design, find out one fact about Autism and write this on the other side of your PC along with your partners address and stamp. BEFORE you send it away could you also scan it and email it to me at [email protected] as I will be making a slideshow video of them all to raise awareness. If you also know someone with Autism and you don't mind them being added please email over a photograph of them too and we'll put them in between jigsaw pieces. Have fun and don't forget you don't have to stick to the rainbow spectrum design we commonly associate with Autism... have fun and make it your own. |
