Description:

Back In Black Is Back! Time for round 3!

This ATC swap requires you to make your ATC with a black background. Colours seem to pop out more vibrantly when they are on a black background. I have seen some very beautiful pieces of art when the Back is In Black. Care to give it a try?

You will have 1 partner and you will do one ATC for your partner. This is international so keep that in mind if you are going to join up.

It is sender's choice in how it is made. You can use any medium you would like, drawn, embellished, painted....whatever you feel will be the most fun and creative for you.

Everyone is invited to join (yes, newbies too!) and I can angel this if need be.

Hope you have fun!

Added Info:

An ATC is short for Artists Trading Card. It is a card that is 2.5" x 3.5" in size (the size of a usual playing card). It is usually made of card stock and can be hand drawn, decorated and embellished in any way you like.

On the back of the card you should add the following: title of the card, your name, date created, how many in that series (for example if I were making 3 of them I would write 1 of 3 , 2 of 3 or 3 of 3) and the name of the swap that you are making it for.

An ATC is never sold, only traded. And if possible, you should send your ATC in a plastic trading card sleeve (found at hobby stores and some dollar stores too) to help protect the card.

Important to note that artist trading cards are NOT sticker slap opportunities. They are a bit of the artist's self being shared.

I'd like to join, but am not sure if I will, as I've had sticker and glitter slapped bits of card, erroneously called artist trading cards. This is quite disappointing when one puts a lot of time and effort into making an ATC.

i have also gotten some "no effort put in" atcs. but the number of wonderful, thought through, obviously put a lot of work into, and trilled to add to my collection one are by far the vast majority of the atcs i have received. do not get fustrated. every envelope is exciting and even if you get a dud or two odds are the next one will be great.

please don't give up on swap-bot. i have also received a few "seems like no thought or effort" atcs. but the vast vast vast majority have been made with care, you can see the effort and thought that went into the cards. they are wonderful (even the ones i don't care for all that much) and i am really happy to add them all to my collection. the duds are few and far between. i hope you join this swap, and many more. black is great fun to work on

@hannibal You're right! Maybe the only way people will learn how to do ATCs is by experience. I've had some that look like miniature scrapbook pages, but they are pretty and the person has put a lot of effort into them.

I'm hopeless at drawing, but I do my best, I sometimes do abstract, or cut out a picture and fill it in with pen and ink, or paint. Or I'll trace one and draw in the detail as best I can.

I just really get disappointed with five minute sticker slaps and glitter.

Thanks for your good natured reply. Let's have fun and see what we get. Like you say, it is always a surprise and I know that for me, something in the letterbox is great fun!

Happy swapping.

Randomly slapped,Sticker slapped cards are not my fav. unless it is for the sticker slapped swap. But I have seen and received some really prettily arranged all sticker ATCs.Knowing how to arrange something is art in it self.(I am a floral designer)However, if the swap says no stickers why in the world would you put stickers on your ATC? That is like adding onions in your lemon pie.

i have a fresh, home made lemon bar. the though of onions in it, well, i'll eat it tomorrow
