Everybody loves OWLS, so that is what we will send this time. Everything MUST have an OWL on it or be shaped like an OWL

Send to your partner FIVE DIFFERENT OWL ITEMS - that means 1 sticker sheet, 1 tea towel, 1 postcard, 1 package of ribbon and 1 calender - it does NOT MEAN 5 packs of stickers!!!!

SUGGESTIONS ONLY - scrapbook papers or card stock, note cards, tissue paper, napkins, stickers, calender, fabric, post cards, nail art, sticky notes, tea towel, coin purse, letter sets, stamped images, metal bits or charms, wrapping paper, pens, lapel pins, sun catcher, buttons, key chain, shopping list, magnet, rubber or clear stamp, ribbon, earrings or something hand made.

Like paper crafts? Make an ATC, post card, Inchie, note card or Twinchie

Have some fabric with owls on it - Sew a tea wallet, mug rug or zippered pouch Make a stuffed owl from felt to hang on their Inspiration board or Christmas tree

Newbies are welcome with a WELL FILLED OUT PROFILE - this means more than you like crafts and watch TV. Be specific about what crafts you like, fave colours, things you collect or do you Smash book or scrap book?

I will check all profiles and will ban anyone who does not comply with this.

FLAKERS need not apply!!!!

You have 3 weeks to find some awesome OWLS and send to your partner

Send on time - rate your partner and HAVE FUN!!!!

I like owls too. I would like to get everything with owls. But it is very difficult to find them in my country. Can not join this swap. Very sad.

TheWhiteSquirrel 03/20/2013 #

I adore Owls!!! Definitely looking forward to this swap! :D

Whubbus 03/21/2013 #

I've been shocked and horrified by how high some international shipping rates have been for my swaps lately. I adore owls and would love to participate in an owl swap, but would anyone be interested in a USA version or a private swap?

rhoswyn 03/22/2013 #

I've been collecting owls for almost a decade. The more the merrier! Can't wait. Whubbus if you want to do a private swap I'm up for it. Pm me and let me know

Rabbitfreedom 03/27/2013 #

I love owls too but can't handle the cost of international shipping! Would love to do this swap domestically I've never hosted a swap - maybe someone else would be willing?

DonnaLeeDesigns 03/27/2013 #

I am in Canada, so know all about International mail costs. This series is the only public swap I will host. I try to keep my items flat, so the cost is not too much. I have made a bookmark, a note card, Art Tag, ATC and something sewn as well as some pics of owls.

Hopefully someone can do a USA one soon.

brunettemusings 03/31/2013 #

I have found/bought/made 4 items so far, I hope my person enjoys their little package - I'll be sending it in a small box (it's quite small) so I hope the shipping isn't too much, if it is - oh well! What's important is they received it! :D

Kayenderes 04/ 1/2013 #

It's all a HOBBY Girls............mail costs are mail prices. You either can or can't, so why complain? I can make a pair of Owl pot holders, And a tea wallet to someone who isn't complaining.........Good Work Donna Lee Keep it up .............xxxxxooooo

brunettemusings 04/ 2/2013 #

I SO agree with you Kayenderes, why have swapping as a hobby if you're just going to complain about the shipping prices? I don't care how much mine costs - just as long as it gets into the right person's hands. (& that my partner enjoys it!)

xxo

I consider my postage costs as my entertainment costs for the month - it is a FUN ACTIVITY that I enjoy participating in. I don't go out to movies, bars, play any sports or anything that costs money. So on average I spend about $10. - $20. per week on mail - that is less than a trip to a local movie theatre. Just my opinion

mortuaary 04/ 3/2013 #

Yeah, I agree with DonnaLee.

Living in Australia, almost ALL of my swaps are overseas. Quit complaining! Enjoy it or don't do it. Don't shortchange your partner fr the sake of saving one or two dollars! Sheesh!

scottishrosefaerie 04/ 3/2013 #

Overseas shipping is kind of a bitch honestly...so I can see where @rabbitfreedom is coming from. I try to avoid doing international swaps for larger items, usually only try to send smaller things, or I'll sign up for swaps that are only for small items if overseas. It would be nice if there were a USA version or whatever of this, but oh well. I like owls too much! Plus I got most of my items for my partner yesterday!

stayandsee 04/ 3/2013 #

I can't wait! I have all my owl items ready to send off!

katiewoo 04/ 3/2013 #

I am in the UK consequently virtually all my swaps are INTERNATIONAL so I have to pay the postage costs. That's it! I know it can be a pain to have to pay what seems like a unproportionate amount on posting but I have to say that it means such a lot to those of us who don't have the choice. I really appreciate those swappers who opt for an international swap because it gives the rest of us a chance at those things you take for granted and maybe, just maybe, you might get a gem that you didn't expect!

wygirl 04/ 4/2013 #

After reading these comments I decided to start a US version swap with Donna's permission.

Julesdn 04/ 4/2013 #

To send a parcel from New Zealand to U.s/Canada/Europe starts at $12. I made the choice to join this swap knowing that my costs were higher. There are so many I can't join because they are regional. At least with International you have a choice. If you can't cover the costs, don''t join, but don't whinge either. If I whinged about every one that I have been excluded from because I live "way over here" I would have precious little time for creating. So join one you can do, and enjoy:) I am so excited about recieving mine and shopping for and creating!

principeta 04/ 5/2013 #

Would someone be interested in private swap?

DonnaLeeDesigns 04/ 5/2013 #

all profiles checked to # 52 everyone is good to go. 6 days till partners are assigned. Have you found some OWL items yet or are you creatively making them?

roogirl 04/ 7/2013 #

All items ready to mail can not wait to mail

kirstyenarno 04/12/2013 #

I am starting to get a little nervous.... The swap coordinator hasn't been online since the 9th. When will partner's be assigned?

stayandsee 04/12/2013 #

When are we going to be assigned partners?

Gabesmommy13 04/13/2013 #

When do we get partners?

Creeny 04/13/2013 #

I am getting nervous, too. Still no partners assigned :( So many owls are waiting to start traveling...

DonnaLeeDesigns 04/13/2013 #
