Can newbies join in this swap?

msteacher 04/11/2008 #

Yes, I am going to allow newbies if they can follow through with the swap. Someone has to start somewhere!

StarryNights 04/11/2008 #

Thanks! And that's true. I love journaling so I will follow through. I can't wait to get started. :)

Hello! Is it international?

msteacher 04/12/2008 #

Yes, this version is international!!

What a great journal swap! Have notebook, ready to journal...

Cosima 04/13/2008 #

If I'd know what a 5 subject notebook is, I'd love to join this swap! I am from Germany and don't know the term "5 subject notebook".

msteacher 04/14/2008 #

Cosima, It is a 200 page spiral bound notebook that is divided into 5 sections. Most students in secondary schools like to have one so they can carry one notebook for most of their subjects. If Germany does not carry something similar, just take a three ring binder and put 200 pages of lined notebook paper. Try to divide the notebook into five equal sections. That would work too.

This sounds wonderfully intriguing to me as I love to write and create in book form... But I just dont know if I can commit to it right now, so I hope that another one of these types will be offered again in the future!

Cosima 04/15/2008 #

msteacher, thanks for your answer. I think there are no three ring binder in Germany, too. But I can use a common binder with the appropriate paper. For the five section I can use my creativity. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Obstminkerl 04/16/2008 #

Okay, I should've asked this earlier, but it shouldn't be a problem ;o)

Why do we ned those 5 sections? I really don't understand it, and I'd like to do everything right.

My idea is - on section for the "normal" diary, one for recipes, one for poems, one for pics, etc. Am I right?

Oh pleeease explain for me blondie :o)

Gusti reminds me to an other question: Should we restrict ourself to "5 subjects" and must the 5 department are of equal length? I think we have to do about 150 pages, makes 30 pages for each subject, eg. 30 art pages, 30 musing pages ...

msteacher 04/17/2008 #

Amanda, please restrict your comments to your swap. Thank you.

Just to say I've started working on my notebook and it's scattered so to speak. I didn't use the 5 compartments to divide up into categories. My partner will get a little bit of everything throughout the entire notebook. :)

msteacher 05/31/2008 #

I'm scattered too! I've had a tough time the last month or so...I lost my granddaughter and my notebook (yours) will have some really sentimental stories. I am glad I have this forum to share.
