Description:

For this swap we will be creating one decorated mail art envelope for one partner. The envelope will need to be completely covered with real, beautiful ART. You will need to spend time on this piece of mail art. Please don't just slap a sticker on an envelope and post it. If you are looking for inspiration, or unclear about what I mean, please follow one of these links to high quality mail art pieces on flickr:

Decorate your envelope with anything you like: paint, pastel, collage, stamps etc, it must be clear in the result that you have made a real EFFORT and been really creative. Don't be afraid to let your imagination run wild! Have fun making some art (I know you can do it!!)

The envelope MUST be sent NAKED ie. not inside another envelope. Stamps and postmarks are part of the joy of mail art. Without them, the result is kind of disappointing. If you are concerned about damage, a layer of pva glue, clear plastic or something similar over the top of your work should make it more robust.

Inside the envelope please send a short note introducing yourself (and mentioning the swap name) along with a flat surprise for your partner, such as papers, postcards, stickers or handmade envelopes. It would be best to check their profile first to see what they like to receive. Please rate a 5 if you receive your swap and it meets the requirements, even if it is not really your kind of thing. I will angel if I need to. Please ask any questions :)

I love the idea. Background is easy if you want to make it pretty. One question, does the send to address area need arted? Can we leave that white or should we make it at least colored?

I think it should also be coloured if possible :)
