Writers' Book Club (April/May 2013)

There are tons of craft books on the market. Some are classics, others have recently been released. As writers, we should always look to expand our base of knowledge and grow in our craft. So let’s read those how-to books.

The Write Now! group’s Writer’s Book Club launched in July 2012. It’s pretty easy. Several titles are offered for each period. Pick the one you’re interested in.

For this period and as promised earlier this year, this round will be a recap. Instead of 12 new titles, you'll have ALL of the books offered to date from which to choose your selection.

If you’d like to read more than one, feel free to do so. We all have tons of books languishing on the To Be Read shelves, piles and bookcases.

Go to the group forum to see the full list of your choices. They range from our first selections in July/August 2012 to the most recent January/February 2013,

All you need to do is pick a book from one of the lists. Read it, and send a letter (2-page minimum -- NOT a note card) with your thoughts on the read to two partners.

Your letter should include:

• the title and author of your chosen selection

• why you picked that title

• what you took away from the book (lessons, advice, etc.)

• whether you would recommend it to others and why/why not.

Feel free to send any additional information that you'd like, i.e. author information, quotes from the book, something you wrote/created after being inspired by the book, etc.)
