Description:

How do you deal with a flakers and non-raters? Do you start a “shame on you” list on your profile?? Do you rate them accordingly and then move on??? Unfortunately, I have just experienced my first flaker and I already have several non-raters.

If you would like to share your experiences, vent your frustrations or find out how others deal with flakers and non-raters, then this is the swap for you.

This is a really quick and easy swap conducted via email. Just answer the questions and send to your 5 partners. This swap will be open to everyone with a well filled out profile - except anyone with recent unexplained 1s and 3s. I will check profiles and remove anyone with questionable ratings.

Simple insturctions…just copy and paste the questions into your new email and send to your partners! Make sure to BCC if you send a group email and don’t forget to add the swap name and your username. Please provide as little or as much detail as you are comfortable sharing for the following questions.

1) How many times have you been subjected to a flaker or a non-rater?

2) How did you feel when it happened to you?

3) How do you deal with a flaker / non-rater?

4) How many times do you try to contact your swap partner if they have not marked “sent” and you have not received your swap item?

5) Do you add their name to a list on your profile?

6) How do you think flakers should be dealt with on Swap-bot?

7) Have you ever considered quitting the swap community due to flakers or non-raters?

8) Have you ever offered to angel because of a flaker?

9) Have you ever flaked on anyone? Why did you flake?

10) If you have flaked on a swap partner, how did you make it up to your partner?

11) Has there ever been a time when you did not rate your partner? Why?

Dear @hands I am not sure where to start regarding your comment, but I will attempt to do my best to reply. I am not really sure I understand the point you are trying to make other than you have been a flaker and you are apologizing for it. There is a big difference between sending a package out late and contacting your swap partner to let them know; as opposed to not sending anything at all and ignoring your swap partner which is an entirely different story.

In reply to your number (13) comment - The definition of swap means taking part in an exchange. I think most of the swap-bot participants would agree that you join swap-bot as a way to meet new people and to SWAP crafts, ideas, etc. I am still fairly new on this forum, but I don’t believe this is a place to “take” and not “give”.

Furthermore, it is considered rude to treat a fellow swapper in such a manner. With that being said, sometimes life happens; we all realize that – this is where communication goes a long way. For example, my grandmother recently passed away and I had to be out of town for the funeral. I was unable to meet two swap deadlines, SO I simply contacted my partners to let them know I would be sending a few days late. They were very understanding. Hopefully I have given you a new prospective to think about.
